The outside facilities were beautiful. The breakfast was very good, and the dining hall was wonderful.

The room was a bit tired. It was large and roomy but needs some love and attention.

It would benefit from having an accessible room for people with disabilities. At present each room has a bath with a shower above. It is easier for many people to have a walk-in shower.

Beautiful setting and buildings. Very well kept. Quiet. Gorgeous food (evening meal & breakfast) No rush to check out allowed for a relaxed morning. Well stocked room and bathroom (impressed by the fan, radiator, iron etc)

We have stayed here as a group of eight friends every year for the past five years. It is such a pleasure to return to find everything as good as the last time. The food is excellent - this time the fish was especially delicious. The staff are so friendly and efficient and the rooms are large and comfortable.

Lovely location and really excellent staff.

Could only have shower in the bath. For this kind of money that's not good enough. Also a bad smell emanating in the car park. Dunno whether its sewage system or what. Smells like stagnant water. No smell in the room or hotel.

Very nicely done accommodation in the courtyard and very clean. We had dinner in the restaurant which was fabulous food and service and great value for money. Breakfast was equally good.

It was comfortable, the food was delicious, and the staff were the best, so friendly, kind and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble.

We were on the first floor and we found the steps up a little difficult especially with suitcases, (we are in our 80’s) however I’m sure if we had asked we could have had help

On arrival being told that I had to pay for the stay when I had a receipt showing I had paid but when checking it hadn’t been paid but I highlighted if I wouldn’t have had enough money it would have been an issue.so i mentioned to them to speak with booking.com to see what went wrong! Also the breakfast weren’t brilliant.

Outstanding evening meal enjoyed on-site. Good breakfast as well. Perfect for our overnight stop!

The breakfast was excellent. I had smoked salmon & scrambled eggs & my friends had poached egg & vegetarian full English - very generous portions & well cooked. There was also the usual selection of cereals, croissants, toast etc. The dining room is comfortable with plenty of room. My room had everything I needed & I slept better that I do at home.

Knowing that there is a mat for the shower in advance, if I had asked, would have been useful as I was worried I might slip.

Great position for what we wanted to do (visit family) waaaaay cheaper than anyone else and just as good. We didn't eat in the restaurant as we were meeting friends for dinner but had a very good breakfast. The cost of our twin room was about half the cost of a double anywhere else. The staff were lovely and very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. The bed seemed alarmingly soft but was very comfortable.

The room was quite hot. There were windows both ends, which was great as we could get a through draft, in theory, but in practice, the extractor from the kitchens was chugging away on the roof next to one so it was a bit loud to have open at night.

From the moment we got to this place we knew we were going to love the Bird in Hand. We were greeted by a very lovely member of staff who was incredibly helpful and you could see she loved her job. We had lunch once we were settled in our beautiful room which was spotless!! Had everything we wanted, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, fan. The food was outstanding, everything was homemade and I must say I'd wish we could had stayed longer to try the whole menu😁 Daisy our friends dog absolutely loved running around meeting people, sampling our food👌 The staff seemed to love her too!! Thank you to the very friendly owners and staff, they seem like one big family, which reflects in everything they do. We highly, highly recommend this place. We will definitely be back.

Excellent very peaceful place to stay. Every single member of staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The evening meals and breakfasts were superb.

Maybe little bigger bottles of toiletries in the rooms but otherwise nothing to complain about.

Only thing I struggled with was the prices of the evening menu, but that I am sure is more a me thing, don’t stay away very often and things have gone up, but food was lovely. So not a negative more a ‘ that’s the way things are now’

The restaurant in the evening was lovely and the food was absolutely superb, and decent value. Morning breakfast again was delicious, varied and good portions. Staff couldn’t have been friendlier. An all round lovely visit and we will def be back.

Quaint pub/hotel situated well in costwolds area. Staff very polite and friendly. Spotlessly clean. Good that they offered a triple room for family.

We really enjoyed our two night stay. Our room was quiet and very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and always on hand. We also ate in the restaurant both evenings. The food was excellent especially the homemade fruit crumble.

The first nights stay was really nice and staff on duty where really friendly, next couple days it took a dive, think i would say clash of personalities , really did not feel comfortable, left early last day without breakfast as i'd had enough.

Everything. Exceptionally friendly, helpful, efficient and happy staff; all requests met with a smile. Room beautifully clean. It was very hot and the rooms all had new fans which worked perfectly to cool the rooms. Comfortable beds and pillows; each room thoughtfully equipped with everything anyone might need for a stay away from home. Food at the Inn was lovely with a very welcoming atmosphere. It is a quiet local pub with the accommodation adjacent to it, so it is not at all noisy. We had to move to another hotel for a wedding the next day and we didn't want to leave as we felt so welcome, like visiting family. Will definitely return there if I'm in the area again.

This is a very nice, old, and atmospheric Inn. Staff were lovely as was the food and service. We would definitely stay here again if in this part of England. Well above average.

Great staff, good drinks selection, great food.

Bar shut slightly earlier than expected (c. 10.15ish; we may have been able to push them to stay open longer, but just moved outside instead as we had drinks so enabled them to shut up shop for the night).

Very quiet location ideal location within easy reach of Woodstock Witney and Oxford, rooms were spacious and comfortable and breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and food cooked to order.

My room was lovely and it was cool, but it was ground floor and therefore pretty cool naturally. If it is hot, go for the ground floor... Meal in the evening was fantastic - fresh fish was delicious - and the breakfast was also excellent!

Lack of air conditioning was about the only thing I would say!! Other people in my group were jealous of my room in that it was cool

This is a very efficiently-run pub/hotel, well located for trips to Blenheim, into the Cotswolds or north to Warwick. All staff were friendly and eager to be helpful. Our room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Food in the restaurant is excellent and the portions are generous.

Shower wall too small. Separate taps for hot and cold water so basically the only usable one is the cold which is inconvenient.

The staff particularly Danny were exceptional friendly helpful and going beyond expectations. The food was delicious particularly the pate and the chicken and bacon baguette and there was an excellent breakfast choice. Car parking was plentiful.

We arrived just after 9:30pm (which we had communicated to the staff) and were met in the rain with a locked door with a note on it saying we had to go directly to our room, despite seeing staff inside cleaning up the bar. It is unacceptable to not greet guests at an hour like that when we turned up exactly as communicated. We had also requested via the website email address several days earlier a pre prepared meal when we arrived given we had just travelled from the other side of the world (Australia) but no one ever responded. We were allocated an upstairs room and found ourselves in wet dark conditions having to lug two suitcases up a slippery and not undercover staircase to get to our room which frankly was pretty dangerous.

Staff were very friendly, food was good, room was very comfortable and quiet.
