The wider grounds are lovely, with lake views and peaceful countryside.
The property was not presented in a clean or guest-ready condition when we arrived. We found food residue and crumbs on the dining table and floors, food residue and a used scourer left in the kitchen sink, dirty bins, rubbish from previous guests still in the bathroom bins, a dirty rug, dust and cobwebs, and a strong damp smell throughout the house. Basic items such as hand towels and bathroom floor towels were also missing. We reported the issues promptly, but housekeeping did not attend until the following morning, so we spent our first afternoon and night in accommodation that had not been properly prepared between guests. The central hallway lighting was also not working, and as housekeeping could not safely reach the fitting, my husband ultimately had to replace the globe himself. What disappointed us most was the attitude of the property management company. There was no meaningful apology, no real acknowledgement of the inconvenience caused, and no sense that they accepted responsibility for the condition in which the property had been handed over. At approximately €400 per night, we expected a much higher standard of cleanliness, preparation and management.
It was clean & comfortable. The kitchen was nice, but minimally equipped. (See below) All the rooms were nice, but the carpet was quite old upstairs.
No serving bowl, no salt or pepper, no sugar or sweetener for coffee. The exhaust fans in the bathrooms were very loud! The upstairs windows do not open. Despite the listing showing the Hotel & spa being affiliated they are not & the staff at the hotel were incredibly rude that they didn’t know anything about the cottages.
Location next to hotel was good - beautiful scenery- staff at hotel were lovely but this was not part of hotel - House had all the amenities needed for a stay and house very private - neighbours lovely - quick walk to hotel and food amazing at the actual hotel - staff in spa lovely and couldn’t do enough -
Property very tired and clearly not used often cold and damp and beds not too comfortable- parking shocking even though the owner told us where to park still ended up been clamped and seemingly this had happened before at this property ! Beds and sofa uncomfortable so not great for a long stay - better off to pay a little more and stay in the hotel - back yard not kept well or swept therefore if you wanted to sit outside possibly not fun
The location is very beautiful and peaceful. Checking in was easy and we received clear Instructions on the process before we arrived. Catherine and her team were extremely prompt when responding to our queries or requests for assistance. Thank you for all of your help.
Clean, beautiful surroundings. Warm.
Bit small for 4. Definitely not suitable for 5. Very poor water pressure especially in the master shower. 2nd bathroom shower very small. Beds and pillows hard. €300 bond is the highest I have ever had requested.
Lovely chalet in the stunning grounds of the hotel. Staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful and we had breakfast there one morning which was super. The chalet was great, plenty of space for us, comfy beds, well kept, had everything we needed. Communication before, during and after our stay was excellent.
WiFi is very poor
it s a fantastic place to stay when you come to Tulfarris golf course, with all the handy facilities! will come back again!
The apartment was clean, spacious, and well equipped — much more comfortable than a standard hotel room, with plenty of space to relax. The kitchen had everything we needed, and it felt like a good fit for a couple or small family. The location was ideal for attending a wedding nearby and easy to access by car. We also appreciated that the owners were quick to respond to any questions during our stay.
The booking process made us feel uneasy. We were asked to email our IDs to a Gmail address we hadn’t seen before and to pay a €300 deposit via PayPal, which at first felt worrying (although it turned out to be fine). We also had to pay for four nights even though we only stayed three, due to the minimum stay policy.
House is clean, well-furnished, and well located about 1 hour outside of Dublin, 30min from Glendalough. Property manager very responsive and helpful when needed. Overall a very pleasing stay!
Nearest shopping facilities a bit far (out in Blessington).
Booked a last minute stay at this beautiful Tulfarris resort for a night away after a busy few days at home and wow what a surprise this was. The house is absolutely lovely and cosy, beautifully decorated with a fabulous what looks like brand new kitchen and all new furnishings. The house is clean/tidy with good WiFi and although we didn’t have time to watch there was Netflix and Prime on TV, There is nice landscaped garden at front and patio with table and chairs at rear. The rear is fenced and very private ideal where I let my son out to play. The house has plenty of space for up 4/5 people but there was only 3 of us. I can honestly say we all had the best nights sleep away in years. The beds were super comfy with really good quality duvet pillows and the 2 bathrooms had good powerful showers one with a bath also. The house was fully set up for self catering but we just had our breakfast there chose to eat dinner at the hotel restaurant bar which was delicious. The Tulfarris hotel spa and whole resort is just spectacular and we had a lovely walk around the golf course and lakes after breakfast to take in the views of mountains and lakes which are simply breathtaking. I’m writing this on my way home, I just want to go back now but next time for sure I will stay longer to soak it all up. If you get a chance to stay here just go !!!
