Reviewed Aug 27, 2026Reine Basecamp is perfectly located, just a 2 minute walk from the center of town. The kitchen is fully equipped, spaces are incredibly clean, and having laundry available is a huge plus. Marianna the host is fantastic and it is clear that she cares about the quality of her guest’s experience. Would highly recommended to anyone visiting Reine.

Reviewed Aug 24, 2026Ich war sehr zufrieden mit meinem Aufenthalt. Die Lage ist top, alles ist sehr gut erreichbar. Das Zimmer ist eher schlicht, dafür gibt es eine ausgestattete Küche, eine Waschmaschine und einen Aufenthaltsraum. Es ist immer jemand da, der bei Problemen helfen kann.

...except for our room, which was cramped, stuffy, and had a strange smell. There was a draft coming from the windows and a chill from the walls; I just couldn’t shake my cold. For the price of a great hotel room, I ended up with physical and psychological discomfort.

Reviewed Jul 25, 2026I loved the communal kitchen and living areas. There was free tea and coffee. There were great laundry facilities. The location was excellent with the bus stop, restaurants and a store really close by.
My room felt cramped, dark (the small windows were high up) and quite basic. The shared toilets and showers were not near my room and one of the toilets had a plumbing issue. I felt it was quite pricey for what was on offer.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026I booked this because there were no other options left in reine. So that’s my fault for being too late to book. However the accommodation has paper thin walls I could basically hear the people next to me breathe. The rooms also smelled like a wet dog. The room keys is just a standard universal key that can unlock every door, which I was not comfortable with. Two positive things I want to mention is that the location is good and the place was very clean

Teeny-tiny. Their “doubles” are two beds crammed into a one-person room. No space to put one’s bags or even turn around. The room was very awkward and inconvenient.

La chambre très étroite, peu isolée (on entend la chambre voisine ronfler...), pas de rangement, petite fenêtre en hauteur, petits lits assez peu confortables entrainant un rapport qualité prix ( très cher en août!) défavorable

Väldigt dåligt - i princip obefintligt - med möjlighet att förvara och hänga upp kläder på rummet. det blir kaos i rummet.

Reviewed Jul 18, 2025Located in the heart of Reine, with only 5-min-walk to the bus stop "Reine" or "Reinebringen", it was very convenient to commute if you visited Lofoten without renting a car. The rooms were adorned with so much care, feeling like home. Kitchens were well-equipped, with microwave oven, coffee maker, toaster, refrigerators and all types of cutlery. A bit pricey... but worthing the value. It's Reine in July, just as it is. :)

Reviewed Jun 28, 2025Great location. Bus-stop, tanking station, shops, restaurants are nearby. Available parking place for a car. Quiet tenants. Clean common housing areas with nice furniture. Opportunity to use fridge. Clean room. Entrance door with a code. Opportunity to use washing and drying machines. Friendly staff. Clearly written housing rules on a board for the tenants to follow while living in the hostel. Generally I needed a place were to sleep overnight during few days of vacation and the hostel suited well.
The walls in the rooms are too thin and audibility is too loud between the rooms. There was no wardrobe in the room, only a hanger on the wall for few things. During my stay the windows in the kitchen remained dirty with bird droppings.

Reviewed Mar 31, 2025This is basically a hostel - don’t book if that is not what you are after. We booked a room with twin single beds. The room was so small we could barely put our backpacks down (note these backpacks are the size that go under the seat in a plane). The communal spaces were pleasant. The welcome from staff is limited to aggressive signs saying “pretty obvious rule - clean up after yourself” in the kitchen, despite no dish rack or other common cleaning equipment and seems to extend to an expectation of taking out all the rubbish from the all the bins. Or to keep the bathroom clean dry without a bathmat. It appeared to us to be attempting to get the benefits to the host of simultaneously a hostel and an Airbnb without the corresponding responsibilities.

Reviewed Jan 29, 2025Very nice place with everything you need. Clean bathrooms. I was lucky it was only me and one more person. Felt really comfy. With fast walking you can get to the begging of the hike Reinebringen iin 15min:) Northen lights were visible too!
Walls are really thin, room is small, but there are more positive things than these 2
