Reviewed Aug 30, 2026This was the most comfortable place we've stayed in for ages. Warm and homely. Owner introduced themselves and happy to assist with any issues. Thank you for coming to say 'Hi', Loved the beer and wine that was also provided as a 'welcome' in the fridge. Enough space to have xtra visitors for dinner or bbq. Def a place we'd stay at again.
Discovered hairdryer with dangerous lead. Left out for replacement. Some xtra cutlery and dishes could be useful. For eg, no drinking glasses, only wine. 😊

Reviewed Mar 1, 2026Beautiful garden setting. Perfectly presented cabin. Super friendly hosts. The husband came in the evening to check that everything was to our satisfaction & he shared more information about Kerikeri and our travels in Northland. The fruit trees & flowering shrubs & mown lawns in the late afternoon sun gave my Vietnamese wife opportunity to create a lovely traditional video for her Facebook page.....she loved the garden very much!
Absolutely nothing of concern. Only the wet grass cuttings that I brought inside on my shoes (I should have taken them off). The water pump for the toilet is a little noisy but maybe only way to bring water into the two-room prefab cabin. A few mossies were a concern, but my wife hates spray so I let her catch & kill!

Reviewed Feb 26, 2026The hosts left us a small bottle of wine and a cold beer which was much appreciated after the drive from Auckland. The kitchen was well-equipped and we made good use of the barbecue. Bed was very comfy and the hosts gave us lots of towels. But the very best thing was sitting on the deck watching the birds.
We could have used some paper towels and some plastic wrap. Everything else was provided.

Wifi connectivity was a bit poor at times, but given the location this didn't really surprise us.

Brenda had already written to us in the morning that we were welcome to arrive any time, as she knew that we were worried about getting flooded in where we were at the time. Daryl welcomed us personally on arrival. There was a small welcome bottle of wine on the kitchen bench waiting for us and fresh fruit in a bowl. Having a heat pump and being able to watch our favorite series with our prime video subscription made it a very comfortable afternoon and evening while the bad weather blew over. Thank you so much, Daryl and Brenda!

-water smelled terribly (didn’t feel clean) need to add this as a description to your booking. Possibly add water bottles as an alternative to use -room gets very hot in the summer (ultra) -more complimentary provided (had the bare minimum) -signs need to be a lot bigger so easy to find
