What is there not to love about this unique place right next to the sea , the yurt was so warm and inviting, just amazing, The bed was so comfy and extra extra long ,the furniture was so comfortable table and chairs to the couch and bean bags ,the utilities, oh wow that shower ,the best ive ever had ever,all the mod cons ,and I loved the spaceman projector at night ,showing the stars and sky on the yurt roof ,and we had the best seafood chowder and the garlic bread at the hotel 2 mins away ,the views are mezmorizing, I wish we booked for longer ,Thank you very much Ray!!!! I now want a yurt, what a wonderful job you have done Ray and with the outside ,we will be back😁❤️🌄

Location was epic. The surroundings and the sounds of the ocean. The Yurk was nice cozy and very warm. That was the most concern for us with little children. Beautiful experience.

Sehr spezielle und tolle Unterkunft. Großer Schlafraum mit toller Aussicht und großem Garten. Zudem mit Zugang zu einer Art privatstrand. Küche und Dusche sind im Nebengebäude. Alles sehr sauber.

Nichts. Selbst ohne Klimaanlage war es im Zelt angenehm, wenn man das Fenster tagsüber verschließt.

Absolutely fabulous accommodation! Received all necessary info beforehand, welcoming chat with host on arrival, fabulous view just by the sea, all really wonderful.

No criticisms, just fyi: need to know that you have to go out of yurt to access kitchen an bathroom, can be chilly at night. Light in front of yurt goes on automatically though. Also, we didn't wash because no dryer and things don't dry very quickly because of humidity. Would have had to time it better and wash in the morning, let dry in the sun.

Just need a sun umbrella. It was a beautiful day, but too hot to sit on the deck, as there was no shelter

Also , um es mal auf den Punkt zu bringen, wer hier in der Nähe ist und nicht hier übernachtet......selbst schuld ! Es war einfach total toll , die Lage - totale Ruhe , die Aussicht - auf das Meer mit seiner Küste, die Ausstattung in der Jurte und im Küchen- und Badtrakt. Es gibt einfach nichts zu beanstanden. Wenn wir wieder hier in der Nähe sind , übernachten nur hier. Danke , war toll

The yurt was a fun experience, our family loved it. It was clean and comfy and had everything you need for a cool stay off the beaten path. The owner even had a yoga math in case th guests want to utilize the patio for a few sun salutations. The kitchen and bath were spotless clean. All in all great stay.

I got eaten alive by mosquitoes or something else. But this is generally the case everywhere in the South Island so just be prepared before you stargaze.

Well equipped yurt right by the sea, great view and easy walk down a few steps to the beach and hole in the rock. Good kitchen with barbecue, washing machine. Great shower. Recommend to purchase food and groceries in Westpoint on the way out as there are only a couple of restaurants nearby.

The yurt itself was spacious and comfortable and in a stunning location with amazing views. The kitchen/laundry/bathroom were tiny but adequate.

It was stiflingly hot inside when we arrived despite both windows and door being open. The fan really didn’t do anything to improve things. The temperature only dropped when the sun went down. It was a long way to the toilet in the middle of the night.

Beautiful location with amazing views over the Tasman Sea. The accommodations were comfortable and had everything we needed. The location is amazing with an easy walk to the beach, a great hike to the seal colony, and a terrific local restaurant. The host was also very communicative with information on the area and what to expect.

As a tent it gets very warm when the sun is on it. When heavy rain the windows need their clear covers on.

We loved our stay in the yurt, truly a unique experience and with all modern comforts. A beautiful location just above the beach and 5 minutes down the road from the Cape Foulwind walkway.

We were amazed at how great this place was, amazing location and setting! The yurt was super clean and comfortable and the kitchen facilities had everything and more that you would need. Our only thing we were not happy with was that we wished we had booked there for more days.

It is a wonderful place to be. A circular, large space to dwell in. We did not do the place justice by staying so short. Great view of the sea. We could walk to an all-in-one local tavern.

The location is incredible, the yurt is full of character and very comfortable. The view is great and the beach below is really interesting.

Having to go outside to get between the yurt and the bathroom at 6am was a bit chilly, but it's only a few steps under an awning on a timber deck, so it was no worry.

Such a fun place to stay! Spacious and cozy at the same time. There are good cooking facilities. It is easy to get down to the beach and check out the hole in the rock. You feel very private there as well. Really enjoyed it and wished we could have stayed longer!

The location is amazing and the Yurt is a very cool different type of accomodation. After staying here with my husband a couple of months ago I booked it for my daughter and her friends. They really enjoyed the location and were very impressed with the facilities. They really enjoyed the outlook and it is still only about 10 mins from the town if you want to pop in and grab food which is what they did. Highly recommend.

Maybe provide milk for guests in the fridge as you do also provide tea and coffee.

What a stunning location! You can definitely walk the coastal lighthouse track to the seal colony from here. So clean, very spacious and instructions for access were excellent. Thanks HITRY, we’ll definitely be back and for MUCH longer next time

Great location, loved staying on the cosy Yurt with wonderful views and the constant roar of the sea.

We had a wonderful time at this unique accommodation! The yurt was so different from anything we stayed in before and was plenty big enough for our family of 4. The location is AMAZING with stunning views and lovely walks to the beach.

We had friends visiting from Vancouver and we were all blown away by this unique setup and location. Great communication from owner. Yurt would be beautiful for a romantic getaway. It has one very large at least king size bed the other bed for us was a pull out couch which was very comfortable. Have a great kitchenette, all facilities, just need to bring milk for tea and coffee which is provided. Fridge ,bbq etc. Nice modern shower and toilet. This is outside the yurt, but well lit with sensor solar lights. So 4 adults have a very comfortable stay. The view and location are just fabulous you can walk down the the beach in around 5mins (there are a few stairs to do this) and when you get there its just stunning. We walked to the local pub for dinner and they did a pretty decent basic dinner. We really enjoyed this stay would highly recommend and will be back. Thanks

What an awesome place! The large Yurt is only a bedroom/sitting room, while the modern bath, kitchen and laundry are just a few barefoot steps away on the deck in a separate structure. The Yurt has a wide picture window from which you can see the sea. At night, in the quiet, you can hear the lulling waves from "down below"... "Down below", is the masterpiece of this location: a magnificent black-sand pristine beach. The "hole" is a natural archway and cave-like hollow that was accessible on foot at low tide, but picturesqely wild at high tide too. The water was 63°F in January, so definitely swimable, with significant waves to play in. Rock formations near the shore and in the distance make for a stunning view. Our host Ray was so helpful, and his wife so friendly. He runs Bazil's surf shop, so my daughter joined a morning surf class too! Thank you, we're only sad that we had 1 night at Hole in the Rock Yurt. It was one of our best stays in NZ!

A little table/chairs in the kitchen would be helpful for laundry or coffee in foul weather.
