Omau Settlers Lodge Motel

Lovely and quiet. Great breakfast with home baked bread a bonus 😊

The

Great service, nice breakfast.

Pam was an excellent host. Good breakfast. Nice roomy units with character. Late checkout was no problem. Would stay again.

A real find. Great accommodation at a bargain price. Wonderful proprietor who was just exceptional!

Lovely receptionist, great little unit. However an aircon would have been appreciated in the heat. An added bonus having a continental breakfast supplied for guests. Location is beautiful, it’s 10 minutes out of town so only a pub next door to eat unless you drive back into town. Lovely coastal walking tracks and going up to lighthouse.

Fantasic, comfortable, well equipped room. We loved it so much we booked a second night when we arrived. Complimentary breakfast was super the first day but disappointing the second day- arrive in good time for breakfast or bread runs out!

Very beautiful grounds and room too

Unit 8 was fab!!!

The location of this motel was fantastic. We loved the ocean, mountain and starry night views. We were able to walk to a restaurant for dinner, which was so nice after a long day of driving. The owner was welcoming and funny. I think I made a new friend. The rooms were spacious, well appointed and clean. I wish we could have stayed longer. Maybe on our next trip...

small room but clean and good for one night

Excellent continental breakfast, and a great suite with a view

Great place to stay

A one night stay but wish it was longer so we could walk the seacliff trails and sit on our verandah and admire the views. A small unit but it had everything we needed. Breakfast was provided in the breakfast room. The usual cereal toast and coffee suited us fine. A good opportunity to meet some interesting fellow travellers.

Outstanding place. Pam was wonderful fornchecking us in, offering dining, hiking and other local info. The room was very well-maintained and clean. Used the spa to relax. In the morning we had a great breakfast woth homemade bread. Location right on the water is perfect.

Was exactly as described, lovely friendly welcome. Breakfast a real bonus. Would recommend

The units were quiet, and warm. Bed very comfy and a table to write at is a bonus. Great pub next door for food. Breakfasts are continental, but home baked bread is good! The carpet is worn from sun exposure in some units. The host is great with knowledge of the area and general conversation.

Great staff and excellent communal breakfast

Host had my room heated up before my arrival--much appreciated. Complete continental breakfast included peanut butter and other spreads.

Cosy and clean. Walking distance to nearby pub that has welcoming service and delicious meals.

Room was a bit small but otherwise neat, tidy and comfy!

Pleasant surprise, Pamela was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Great scenic spot. The tavern being within walking distance a bonus even though we didnt visit. Rooms were well appointed but felt it needed a deep clean, heater was covered in dust. Breakfast room was a great set up as a shared space with more than enough for a continental breakfast. Dudnt use the spa but nice that Pamela let me know. Loved meeting their friendly dog Meeka. Would recommend as a restful escape in a NZ west coast setting.

Lovely accommodation, clean and in fab grounds.

Was amazing to see continental breakfast available at no extra cost. Will happily stay again.

Lovely clean unit. The hot tub was a great addition especially as we were the only ones there. You can see areas that need maintenance. The breakfast was great and plenty of it.

Quaint cottages in gorgeous location near fur seal colony, breathtaking views and charming neighbourhood. The host was friendly, accomodating, we really enjoyed the use of the hot tub and breakfast. Would highly recommend staying here.

Great Location and breakfast a bonus really enjoyed our stay will go again

Super friendly staff and owners. Really enjoyed this place and there are some really nice walking trails nearby with excellent access to the ocea.

The property location is lovely. Close to the coastal walking track and the fur seal bay. The gal at checkin was friendly and helpful. The room was large and very clean. The bed was comfortable. The refrigerator in the unit was very tiny and the freezer wouldn’t even freeze our small ice packs overnight, which was unfortunate. The breakfast is fairly basic (cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit), but the breakfast room is a lovely way to meet fellow travelers. The units are very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again

Omau Settlers Lodge was a wonderful discovery Recommended by another property in Tauranga Bay, we were blown away by the hospitality of Pam (the owner ) Great lodging , fabulous breakfasts included in rate, and proximity to Cape Foulwind and the seal colony made it even better . So glad we chose this resort over staying in Westport . Highly recommend this lodging

Excellent little hideaway.Very hospitable host. Great value for money. Communal complimentary breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed for one night. Nice and easy comfortable accomodation with lovely surroundings

Clean and comfortable Exactly what we needed Just 1 night

Fabulous. Quiet. Beautiful location Nice breakfast

Lovely place to stay. Very friendly owner. Peaceful. Good food at pub next door

Our room was very comfortable and cozy. It was a bit of a drive to restaurants and shoppers but that was what we were looking for is the quiet.

A beautiful place with a great owner. We had one night stay on our trip through South Island, but it feels like at home, the place is peaceful and quiet, the little detailed deco in the room is unique and home feeling. Breakfast room is such a great idea to meet with the people who staying there. Nice scenic walks nearby, certainly will stay again next time back to the area.

A lovely, comfortable room in a lovely location. But the free breakfast was disappointing - uninspiring ingredients and weak coffee. To be honest I'd rather have a toaster and cafetiere/plunger in my room and make my own...

Had a great one night stay. Everything we needed was provided and enjoyed a continental brekkie the next morning before heading off 😊

Five star from start to finish. Pamela was an excellent hostess. Location was beautiful and right on the walking track. Great food at the restaurant next door. Highly recommended!!!

Beautiful room in a great location close to Cape Foulwind. Good restaurant/bar across the road. Coastal walkway and lighthouse just down the road. Absolutely walk the trail, fabulous views. Enjoyed the hot tub. Nice breakfast in the morning. Lots of nice touches in the room.

Pamela is friendly, the place is clean and comfortable, check in was easy. Continental breakfast was fine. Recommend? Yes!

This is a small, out-of-town hotel yet it had amenities which we haven't had in many big city hotels. We got a friendly greeting from the owner when we checked in. There was fresh milk in the fridge, more than enough soaps and conditioners in the bathroom and also a night light in the bathroom. For anyone travelling in this area, this is the place to stay.

Lovely, spacious Tom felt very luxurious. Enjoyed star-gazing from the hot tub which was just steps away from our room, but felt like it was in a secluded oasis. Breakfast room was awesome.

Great accommodation at Cape Foulwind, clean and so comfortable. After a long drive it was lovely to walk into a room that was warm. Thank you for the upgrade to delux studio so we could cook dinner. Highly recommended.

Cute spot to stay, walking distance to the hole in the rock and lighthouse, great star gazing at night.

We liked location and style of rooms. A very good breakfast was supplied. We liked individual apartment feel and small number of rooms. Cons: Bed was bouncy. No coffee plunger in room. No herbal teas. TV didn't work (suspect faulty aerial)

Excellent stay! Very comfortable and clean.

A spa pool was available although we didn’t use it. Handy to the local pub which offered a good range of food.

We stayed 1 night, the room was clean & comfortable, unfortunately the weather was bad, so didn’t get to explore the motel’s hot tub. We did have a great night at the pub across the road, with the weather so bad, it was nice to go there for drinks and a lovely meal.

Very warm welcome.

Warm and very comfortable.

Great position and right next door to the pub which had great food

Favourite West Coast location convenient, well designed use of space. Friendly cat !

Great location. Breakfast a bonus as is the great little pub next door.

Very hospitable owner who gave us a warm welcome. Very comfortable beds. The Pub next door was great for meals and again, excellent service.

Attractive setting and close to a local tavern for ameal in the evening

It is the west coast and Fantastic wet or fine The owners were very friendly and the breakfast was great Many thanks

The clean up market Motel, supplying over the top service.

Beautiful location right on the coast. Karen and Lee are charming and welcoming. We are only sorry we could stay one night. We will be back!

Really well thought out units, nice bathrooms. Nice outdoor space and Star Tavern just a stones throw down the road. Lovely inn keepers, good breakfast.

It was quiet and located near a great restaurant, the hosts were great also.

Great hosts Very clean and comfortable Wonderful view Close walking distance restaurant Very close to the beautuful Foulwind walkway Great breakfast Good value for the money

Fabulous, thank you. Highly recommend. Good stuff.

Wonderful location, welcoming, informative hosts and spotless. What more can you ask.

Great location with a free spa. Mine host was very friendly and informative. Would go back any time.

Comfortable and spacious within walking distance of cape Foulwind and the coastal walk. Free breakfast was wonderful. Homemade bread and butter were fantastic. We wish we had time to stay longer. What a treat to stay here.

Lovely setting, outlook and facilities. Warm, sunny, convenient, luxurious and relaxing. Karen & Lee are fantastic hosts and a good laugh. lPerfect for a weekend getaway. Great beaches, surf and walks nearby.

Fabulous. Unique. Delightful setting. Can not fault it at all

Such a highlight to stay here! Rooms were clean, modern, and very comfortable. Our hosts were such a delight and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Breakfast was such a treat with fresh and homemade dishes. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you for the kind hospitality!

Good vibe from the start, everyone on their deck having a tipple. Our host is a great raconteur and a good bread and jam maker too. So much to see locally and we totally enjoyed the baby seals at play.

I enjoyed the front porches They had great views Staff and front desk were excellent Continental breakfast was wonderful

Great location we walked to the seal colony and enjoyed beautiful view.

Peace quiet ex view the owners were great would stay again

Lovely location beautiful setting friendly helpful owners. Was close to the seal colony great base for west coast exploring

Good place to stay in the Wesrport NZ area. Very quiet and peacefulll location. Enjoyed interacting with other guests at breakfast. Pub close by has good food at reasonable prices. Karen and Lee very friendly & helpfulll . Great place to stay.

Very nice and helpful. Enjod the breakfast, would come again

Friendly staff, comfortable facilities and excellent continental breakfast.

Excellent Motel ,we would stay again. Owner very helpful and friendly. Made us very welcome.

Clean and tidy, good views, comfortable bed. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast in a dining / lounge room, which was comfortable- nice to have homemade bread. The remoteness is a bonus, but isn’t too far from Westport

Perfect place to stay in a warm and comfortable accommodation for a couple of days. Bed cosy and restful. Hosts very friendly. A good choice for breakfast freshly prepared each morning. A most enjoyable stay...recommended.

The host was welcoming friendly and helpful and the facilities very clean and comfortable .

Highlights: manager took our dirty bushwalking clothes off me and washed/dried it all. Lowlights: poor WiFi in unit 8

Highly recommended! This cute lodge was a wonderful place to stay with clean, comfortable rooms. Sitting areas outside and we could hear the ocean. The owners were so friendly and helpful, directing us to the seal colony, beaches and lighthouse. The breakfast was top notch and the dinning area was a fun place to visit with other travelers. There was plenty of parking.

A one night stay whilst travelling, comfy bed, pub next door and close to the seals. Also inc breakfast! What more could you need? Would defo stay again if in the area .

Room very comfy. View ok. Easy walk to beach and tavern. Slighty longer walk to lighthouse. Very quiet.

We have a very enjoyable West Coast experience. Lovely authentic pub and an exceptional meal there in the evening.

A quaint little setting and very lovely being so close to the ocean! The breakfast was delicious and it was nice to meet other travellers.

This motel in Cape Foulwind had eight attached cottage units. The room was nicely appointed with sliding doors on the sea-side and garden-side to provide cross-ventilation (we presume), and they were both open when we arrived. There was no AC, and we did not find a fan. There were no screens on the windows, so the room already had a number of flying insects, which required a lot of bug killing. Although the open handicapped-accessible shower got water on the bathroom floor, it was still a good shower. The included breakfast included toast, cereal, yogurt and fruit, along with coffee and tea.

Nice out of town location. Reastarunt within walking distance. Nice commen area. Has an outdoor barbaque and covered area. Each room is a seperate unit. Quiet, nice shower, mini fridge, out door sitting. Bed comfort is ok.

Great location and owners. If more than two in room you might want to go elsewhere

Excellent motel at Cape Foulweather. Really comfortable accommodation and good breakfast near to fabulous coastal walk and good pub. The owners are lovely people only too pleased to help. Overall a fabulous experience.

Beautiful, well maintained, spacious, modern rooms. Felt like we had our own cottage near the sea! Loved it. Very friendly and kind owners who helped us with navigation questions for traveling the next day to Abel Tasman. Would highly recommend to all!

Highly recommend...clean, beautiful facilities, comfy beds, excellent breakfast. Owners just so helpful and very fun to be with.

Excellent place to stay at Cape Foulwind and really friendly owners. Easy access to the beach and we had a fabulous time. Easy parking close to the chalet.

We loved the location in Cape Foulwind. Lee and Karen are welcoming hosts and gave us tips about local hikes, visiting the Seal Colony and eating at The Bay House. Our room was spotless, bright and attractive and there is a small deck. We booked the lovely hottub which is just behind the motel in a private rainforest setting. A basic continental breakfast was included. Highly recommended.

Ok ...............................................................................................................................................

Highly recommend. Great location with plenty of walks and handy for pub too. Made to feel very welcome.

Great little motel, comfy rooms, included light breaky. Wild weather when we arrived, but got some great photos of the ocean pounding against the rocks just offshore.

The location is close to the fur seal colonies and nice walking trails along sea. Very close to the Bay House Restaurant and Star Tavern ( which you must try). Our room was very comfortable with sea views! Has a hot tub, outdoor BBQ grill and pizza oven to use with seating. You also get a delicious breakfast included with fresh homemade bread and muffins, jams, juice, fruits, and other goodies. The best part are the owners who made you feel like family! Thanks for a true NZ experience!
