Very Cosy especially with the fire going.
Quaint, clean and comfortable with all the facilities of home
Being able to have our dogs with us was important, being fully fenced and close to the bike track was a huge bonus for easy walks
It rained the whole time, was such a shame i imagine its so much better with some sunshine.
Having wood and coal readily available for the fire on a cold and stormy night was great
The window latch in the second bedroom is broken causing it to bang on our windy night
Location, cosy, comfortable
Spacious, private, comfy, everything provided for a pleasant stay.
This was the second time I've stayed at Marg's cottage, and I'm sure it won't be the last. The cottage is very clean and tidy and has all the amenities you could want.
I'm not familiar with convection cooktops, so I struggled to figure out how to make it work... even though there is a detailed instruction manual. Largely a case involving old dogs and new tricks I guess.
Great location. Cute little cottage with a fab fire. Dog friendly and had everything we needed. Nice quiet part of Kumara and walking distance to the local pub.
Well appointed neat and clean. Good communication from the host Sarah. Definitely a great place to stay.
Conveniently located, quiet
Beautiful home and Sarah is fabulous to deal with. Location is perfect, House is cosy, Extremely well presented and its definitely home away from home. just the perfect break we needed. Being dog friendly is a added bonus!
Nothing
Proximity to Wilderness Trail was primo. Clean. Cosy.
A lovely house to relax in. A nice touch to supply all the little extras.

Great communication
Booking.con would not allow date change or cancellation even over 1 month away.
Great stay lovely home and superb communication
Na
Beautiful little cottage with all essentials and close to village.

Lovely quiet location and information on local places of interest. Lots of history and glow worms.
Couldn’t find a bin in the house to put rubbish in. Put it all in the outside bin when we left. Perhaps a bag to collect rubbish in would be useful.
The place had everything we needed.
Only one heating source I.e fireplace. I was thinking it would be handy to have a small heater maybe an oil heater… or even a panel heater in the bedroom? Still cheap and energy efficient to run.
Une maison entiere avec cheminée, tres spacieuse, jardin BBQ... Tres bien
Wat een geweldige ruimte en fijne voorzieningen.Geweldig.

Everything... Fantastic peaceful hidden Gem ❤️
The host Sarah is super friendly and caring..... Allows you to bring your fur babies with to. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and definitely will be back
Awesome cottage. I had never come across kitchen with some staple supplies and honesty box, so good as meant we could arrive late and travel in to greymouth next day for supplies..
Ideal for our overnight stay, good facilities. Large bath, good shower, comfortable beds and quiet location.
Nothing
Lovely ambience. Very homely and cosy. Enjoyed our stay. Great location and town.
We were not used to the induction stove. Providing instructions might help others. The owner Sarah and her mother were very helpful when we contacted them.
Cosy and warm with everything you need to make the stay comfortable
Everything was OK
Lovely cosy house with all you could need. Cosy fire, lovely deck on the sunshine. Would definitely stay again
Advertised as sleeps 10 but only 2 double beds, rest are pull out foutons.
Marg's cottage was well equipped and spotlessly clean. There was a great supply of wood and coal to get the fire cranking (my son spent more time watching and tending the fire (the bush tv) than he did watching the television. There's enough futons to sleep the whole whanau, plus some.
Nothing, they nailed it!
Homely. Large space. Character.
Quiet and comfortable cottage with just a short walk to the cafe and pub. The sundeck will be great in the warmer weather.
Not sure if we missed something but the only heating seemed to be the fire, and there was no kindling, just some building offcuts and coal. Given the frosty weather another form of heating would have been useful.
Comme a la maison !
Feu ouvert. Pas d autre moyen de chauffer les pieces
Everything, what a beautiful spot! The host is amazing and very accommodating. Absolutely recommend. Great wee hotel tjay has amazing food, great walks nearby. Wished we had stayed longer. Thank you
The location, the house, the serenity, everything
Still not a bad thing but could have had a bit more water pressure in the shower
Everything is good as the reviews said. Highly recommended.
Nothing to complain about.
If you're exploring the west coast this property is a perfect midway point between Greymouth and Hokitika, roughly 20 mins between the two. It is very handy as you can see sites in both towns and between. The accommodation is immaculately clean, comfy beds too. The owner is very accommodating and friendly. Thanks for all of the travel advice and thanks for a great stay at a great price. I highly recommend staying here! Without a doubt this was the best value for money and location we've stayed on our whole road trip around the south and north Island so far.
Clean, warm, tidy, and homely. Lots of thoughtful touches such as the honesty system for provisions. Also we thought our host’s communication was clear and prompt. And it was nice to meet our host’s Mum (thanks for the eggs and tomatoes, Sarah’s Mum)
Fantastic value
Everything we needed and comfortable and lay back
Comfortable home. Clean and all facilities covered. Ideal location for a break on our family road trip. Pleasant stay albeit for only one night. The local shop was not extensively stocked so the availability of things to pay for using an honesty box was a blessing.
Beautiful little private house, very well setup and homely.
Second bedroom could have done with a door
It was perfect in all respects. We had our dog and she has never been "at home" so much. We loved the stay and would love to return some day.
Shower water pressure was not what we are used to but quite adequate for the time we were there.
Lovely home. Everything you could need
clean and pleasant .. deck will be an amazing addition
Super easy location as it was right beside the Westcoast Wilderness trail which we were biking. Lovely old cottage, peaceful location. Friendly host who was welcoming in her emails and had good suggestions for what to do in Kumara.
It would have been great to have somewhere secure to store our bikes.
Fantastic place to stay when riding the West Coast Wilderness Trail. A small home with all the amenities of a home, compared to the typical rental. Highly recommended!
Very large comfortable cozy home. Clean and all facilities covered. Pleasant stay albeit for only one night.
Beers and other stuffs in the fridge with honesty box... unexpected and most welcome, thanks
Can't think of anything
Great location after a long day cycling on the West Coast Trail. Host very good with providing information.
Sofa wasn’t too comfortable to sit on,
Very clean, spacious and comfortable.
Couldn’t pick anything. No faults at all.
Beautiful Location. Right next to the West Coast Wilderness Trail. The small town was pleasant with great walks and plenty of mining history around. It's also fantastic for cycling. The accommodation was welcoming and well fitted, nicely decorated, for a comfortable stay. The beds were comfy, too. I would definitely recommend it. We loved the coffee machine. Bring your pods. The garden was nice. We could watch the birds while eating breakfast.
Only minor preferences. We would have liked a small bin to put rubbish in. A mirror in the bedroom. The bathroom would have benefited from an extractor fan.
Good location
No table or chairs
Location was very good
Bigger than it looks and super cozy.
