Everyone was very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable
Everything was good
We loved our stay - incredible location nestled within the jungle and surrounded by paddy fields, amazing trekking routes and nearby waterfalls. The owners are so welcoming and friendly, and incredibly helpful for organising treks and onward travel. The highlight for us was a trek with Hien to Hieu waterfall - he is so enthusiastic and knowledgeable and we had a great day! The food is also very good, especially the banana pancakes and fried rice.

This was an amazing stay. The bamboo huts were comfortable, the food was super delicious and the hosts were very very kind. I live in Vietnam as a foreigner and have met many people. But this family is exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The day I arrived, they picked me up from town despite the rain. I highly highly recommend this homestay. You will have an amazing relaxing time!
100% recomendable.
Chủ nhà rất nhiệt tình và thân thiện. Đồ ăn ngon.
It was a very rustic experience, bamboo huts in the jungle, no frills. Very nice to go back to basics but be prepared for this. It was a nice way to slow down and be in nature. We took a 1 day tour with the family on the motorbikes to Surprise cave which was a great day out
The location was very remote, I'd strongly recommend that you rent scooters in town before you arrive at the homestay or you feel quite cut off. There's nowhere else to eat and the menu at the homestay is very limited. We did the half day jungle trek but it was a bit too intense for us - too hot and too off the beaten track, not for the faint hearted for the kids so maybe ask for a light version unless you really want to spend your day forging your way through dense jungle
Warm and heartfelt service. Come here to slow down, relax your mind, and connect with the local people. Their sincere hospitality makes you appreciate the beauty of a simple life. I stayed in a bungalow and truly enjoyed the local food recommendations with very reasonable prices. For the accommodation, I did not expect luxury I wanted something original and authentic, a place where I could simply flow with my mind and live in the moment. Highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to experience a peaceful and simple way of life.

Everything! The property is gorgeous: it faces the jungle on one side and the beautiful rice fields and mountains on the other. Reaching it is super easy and (upon request) very efficiently organized by the host for a few bucks. The food is incredibly good, I particularly loved the noodles and banana pancake, but I’m sure every item is worth a good review. There are a few things to do around there, some hikes, jungle exploration, motorbike riding, and local markets to explore, some of which are organized by the hosts themselves. Finally, the family is extremely kind and welcoming, and they truly make you feel at home. I found the bed comfortable and the toilets and showers clean, but if you expect a luxurious experience this is probably not for you. I personally loved it. Thanks again!
Nothing
Struttura molto accogliente e particolare.
Super authentic bamboo huts in the middle of the jungle. Hosted by the absolute kindest people.
The family was so kind! Hot water in the shower, good food, felt very safe as a solo female traveler.
The family was very friendly and welcoming, always there to help you out, making sure you are ok, and really nice food. We are both vegan and they did a great job at accommodating that. The location is really beautiful, further away from the more popular homestay area, and next to a lovely river and waterfalls.
I love the hospitality! I recommend a million times the banana pancake and the mortbike tour It's so peaceful there and just so relaxing ! Thanks again for my stay
Absolutely amazing, great home food, simple but delicious compared to most hotels and homestays. The uncle running the place knows about 100 words in english but he is so eager to talk you'll want to spend the night with him, he let us taste his rice wine. They give out good tips about trips and things to see. You get to sleep in neat bungalows. Really the only people i wouldn't recommend the place to would be those who prefer to be left alone and keep their stay anonymous. thanks for everythings, its been a lovely day with you guys!
The family who runs this homestay is wonderful and very friendly. The son's English was great and the dad speaks a bit of English as well, so communication was easy. We stayed several nights to slow down and explore the area. The location is great-- in a quiet area, rice farms across the river, a 15-minute walk to Hieu waterfalls, 3-minute walk to some water wheels. Food was good (try the frog's legs!), wi-fi was strong, coffee was stronger.
The mattresses were a bit thin/firm, but we still slept well.
The accomodation is in individual bamboo huts, which were a bit of a novelty for us and had a rustic charm. The location is quite peaceful (with the exception of the roosters who crowed at any old hour!!) and a nice walking distance to the Hieu waterfall and village. The wider Pu Luong area was beautiful and lived up to its reputation as a less touristy Sapa. Tours are offered at reasonable rates, but we chose to go self-guided. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and the food we tried was tasty with a couple of vegetarian options. We kept getting given fresh fruit from the garden, which was delicious!
While the hosts were very friendly and helpful, sometimes they were a bit too friendly for our tastes! No doubt many guests appreciate mealtime conversations, but we are antisocial and prefer to be left to enjoy our food without interruptions... Further, because of the very thin bamboo walls, I never felt like I could have a private conversation without risk that someone would overhear. As other reviews have noted, the beds are hard, but honestly that seems to be pretty standard in Vietnam. Be aware also that you will have to go outside to go to the toilet and shower, which are functional but basic. However the main drawback in my opinion is the lack of accessibility without your own transport. Buses will generally drop off and pick up in Don Village, and we consistently found that no Grab car drivers were available to take us to and from the homestay. The host offered to arrange motorbikes for us but that wasn't something we felt comfortable with. We ended up walking ~2h each way, which is doable if you are fit but if you don't want to walk, make sure to arrange taxis in advance! Bearing in mind the basic facilities and transport inconveniences, we also felt that the price wasn't the best value for what you get.
The owner and his family were incredibly friendly and always willing to help. The location was superb, being so close to lush green rice fields with many walking trails and also a nearby waterfall. The owners offered up bananas and mandarins grown in their garden and the home cooked meals on offer also took advantage of garden produce. I loved my stay and would love to return.
Owner was very friendly, talk with us while evening. We had good food and the place looks amazing.
The location, the huts, the amazing food and Hwhy and his family were so lovely!!
Nothing!
Lý do khiến mình muốn quay lại Pù luông nhất 🥰.
Very friendly and comfortable. Family is lovely
mùi nước hoa trên ga nệm rất nồng
The chalet was very basic but it was a good experience. The food was good, there were other guests to spend time with , the showers were hot, there were hamacs to relax in. Above all the area is spectacular. I loved wandering through the villages.
The owners were lovely and it was a good location to get to the waterfall and eating places nearby if you have a motorbike.
Very uncomfortable beds and not the next showers. Compared to other places in Vietnam it was overpriced for what you got.
The family are lovely and the location is fantastic. This is effectively camping so make sure your expectations are as such
Great stay here, the owner and family are very friendly and helpful helped arrange transport from the drop off point to the home stay, And back again to Hanoi for a good price you can rent scooters and also arranged walking jungle tours for a very good price too Meal times the hostel all are together at the same time brought a real home feel to it everyone could chat and exchange story’s and plans. Toilets and showers are basic but clean Beds are quite hard and not very good on my back for 4 nights other than that we really enjoyed our stay!
I can highly recommend staying at jungle king homestay. The location is good especially if you want to avoid the tourist center of Pu Luong. The family is very friendly. The father is an excellent guide if you want to explore nature. The mother is very attentive and spoils the guests with delicious dishes. The son makes the link between authenticity and current tourism with the necessary humor. Not an easy balancing exercise .I hope to come back to this homestay
Nothing
Guy was great, helpfully, ready to give a hand about everything. Still young, without enough experience, but nice person. One hand, he made some offers and promises that he couldn't fulfil, bit on the other hand, he gave himself to be usefull. The room is great, a bit scarry, but interesting. The mattress is very hard, but for a few days, it is ok. Mither makes great food, price is ok.
If you are ready to live in the wild, it is a great place for you. If you exept any comfort, better stay away.
It is in the middle of the Natural Park, little tourism and 100% local. The family is very open, always helpful and smiling. Recommended if you are ok with basic conditions, but you want stay off the grid and live like a local. Food is great.
You sleep almost on the ground, but if you stay a couple of nights, again, is the local way.
Thank you for taking care of us ! good food, good experience, the father Hien took us on a tour in the jungle and we swam at a waterfall that was pretty cool ! The mother cooked very good meals and breakfast. And we did a karaoke with the son who speaks very good english and a bit of french so that was awesome. thanks for everything
It was perfect nothing to say Will come back for sure
Loved the hospitality of Hoai and his family and the fact that Hoai speaks excellent English and went out of his way to organize outings for us. He was invaluable to communicate with our driver and we learned much about Pu Luong from him. We loved experiencing village life here, and the trip to the bat cave and the bamboo raft were perfect activities for us, for younger people, there are hikes to do with local guides. Simple but good meals, plenty of meat, fruit and veges, and delicious banana pancakes for breakfast. Fantastic to have WIFI. Perfect place to chill and unwind from Hanoi. This is a really authentic unforgettable rural Vietnam experience.
Thin mattress on floor isn't ideal for aging backs, but we doubled up with a second one and a duvet and we slept fine. Mirror in the bathroom would be handy for shaving and makeup.
The homestay is run by Hoai and his parents, they're all very friendly and welcoming. This place is simple and perfect for someone who's looking for authenticity. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful. I had a great stay.
The breakfast was good! The family is so welcoming, tried to help and was so kind! We had a super stay! So close to the waterfalls and a small river right in front also, was great.
