Pedro's House - Foreigners only

Pedro was an excellent host and the coffee shop below was so quaint! I also loved the breakfast time as it was a great time to meet others! I was also delighted that my clothes were washed and hung on an outdoor clothesline. What an unexpected and very welcome service. I will only stay at Pedro’s when I next visit Gwangju!

L'ambiance très conviviale. Le bar au rez-de-chaussé décoré avec beaucoup de gout. La chambre que nous avons occupée était très cosy et enfin Pedro est quelqu'un de très accueillant qui nous a prodigué de nombreux conseils et qui a su donner une véritable âme à ce lieu.

I had a wonderful stay at Pedro’s House. The room was comfortable and the facilities clean. The guest house was very conveniently located near the subway (line 1), which makes it easy for travelers wishing to visit the city center. Pedro was very friendly and helpful. He also runs a café on the first floor with a warm, welcoming atmosphere I enjoyed spending time in during my stay. Absolutely recommend this place for anyone wishing to travel around Gwangju!

The room is clean and comfortable, everything you need is well-maintained, making the stay comfortable and convenient.

The room is on the 3rd floor, which gives you a nice, quiet space, though it might take a little extra muscle if you are traveling with very large luggage!

Pedro was fantastic! He was very kind and friendly. He had some great suggestions for places to go, and helped us when we needed to confirm a car rental by calling and speaking with the company himself. He even invited us to join him and friends to watch a world cup game in the cafe part of the guesthouse. There was a super vibe to the place and it was just a really cool place. We found it very comfortable, clean, and a great value. There was even a nice, well-equipped kitchen area where we made dinner one night. I highly recommend staying with Pedro if you are headed to Gwangju.

The lights in the bathroom were a little dark. It was a bit far from the city center, but there was easy access to public transportation.

Pedro is a very welcoming and kind person. He is supportive inevery way. The combination of guesthouse and coffehouse makes it a vivid but not croweded location. And the interieur is really well designed and one likes to stay forever.

Pedro's House is extremely comfortable with very kind and welcoming staff. I felt at home during my stay and had a nice place to come back to after traveling all day in Gwangju! Pedro can provide lots of information about the city as well. Breakfast was delicious and great to enjoy on the patio or inside the traveler's cafe! If you come to Gwangju, this is a great choice to make it an extra memorable and authentic trip!

If you are looking to stay right in the downtown/city area of Gwangju, this guesthouse could be a bit far for you. It is very easily accessible by many bus stations and located right between two subway stations, but it can take 20-40min to get to some of the major sites in the city.

Pedro was very accommodating. He upgraded our room because we were a large group and treated us well. The breakfast was nice too

The room was very cozy, it felt more like being at home than in a guesthouse. Pedro is a great host, his café is the perfect place to enjoy breakfast while having a chat with fellow travelers but where you can also meet local people.

Pedro zorgt goed voor zijn gasten. Hij geeft veel informatie over de stad en de buurt. Zijn café is niet een goede ontmoetingsplek voor reizigers maar ook voor mensen uit de buurt. We hebben een heel fijn verblijf gehad in Pedro's House.

Pedro's house is a great spot to stay in Gwangju. It's very close to the metro station and various bus stops making it easily accessible from the bus terminal or the train station. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The café downstairs is cozy and super cute. It's also a meeting place. I stayed for 4 nights and chatted with multiple interesting people. Pedro is a friendly and smiley host who is always happy to help and give his guests tips and suggestions on where to eat, what to see and do in Gwangju. Staying at Pedro's was a highlight of my trip!

Sehr netter Gastgeber, gute Lage in U-Bahn-Nähe, schöne Einrichtung, nettes Zimmer.

Frühstück war zwar besser als in anderen Hostels, aber mir zu süß. Außerdem mag ich es lieber, wenn die Bettdecke einen Überzug hat, aber das scheint in Südkorea häufiger so zu sein. Sonst war das Bett aber bequem.

We enjoyed our stay in a traditional Korean home. Everything was clean and comfortable. The owner, Pedro, was very friendly and helped us book a ferry to Jeju, as web pages in English were not working. The location is good and close to Subway station, making it a ideal place for trips.

It was very clean and spacious, breakfast was delicious.

Friendly and helpful, room is big enough, and housekeeper is good in English.

It was a lovely one night stay. The owner is very kind and willing to help with recommendations etc. The cafe is a nice place to hang out and play some games too.

Cool vibe and friendly host. It was central, welcoming and comfortable. We loved the fact there were relaxing spaces to hang out with books, drinks and company. Pedro was beyond helpful and kind, booking us taxis and even lending us his baseball support shirts for the match!

A wonderful hostel with great facilities and a comforting vibe. At this price point, you will not find a better deal. My room was huge with an attached bathroom, spotlessly clean, and there's a complimentary breakfast. 김 사장님 was very accommodating when I had to leave early in the morning to explore the city. The other travelers were quiet, also wanting to learn the history of 광주. This is a hostel for the respectful, intentional traveler. Hanging out in the cafe downstairs in the morning was lovely. If I come back to 광주, I know where I'll stay.

It is not super central, but this isn't a problem if you're willing to ride the bus for ~10 mins.

Flecken an den Wänden. Sehr harte Matratze. Keinen Überzug über der Decke. Die Sauberkeit im Bad hätte besser sein können.

Pedro's House的位置位于Gwangju的地理中心位置，向东是锦南路和5.18民主广场，向西是光州松汀车站，因此交通非常便利，可以很容易地通过地铁或者公交到达。我住的房间在三楼，整体氛围非常cozy，能看出主人在装修方面花了很多心思。房间的窗户也是双层的，因此可以隔绝巷子里半夜汽车和摩托车的噪音。 Pedro每天早上9-10会把做好的早饭放到一楼的桌子上，早餐很丰盛也很美味。我在这里只住了两晚，因此与Pedro交流的机会不多，但从我为数不多的沟通中可以感受到他是一位绅士。总而言之是一次非常愉快的住宿，为我的光州之旅带来了别样的体验。

如果唯一要说不太方便的地方，就是上楼的台阶有点太高了，我自己没有大件行李所以没什么问题，但如果有比较沉的行李，上楼可能会有点困难。

Pedro is a great host who was very accommodating from the moment we arrived. He set out a full breakfast for us each morning before we would head out for the day. The room in the guesthouse was very comfortable and the cafe space downstairs is incredible. Would definitely stay there again next time in Gwangju

The location is good! Close to metro and there are restaurants nearby. Also the voyagers cafe is really nice 💛 Pedro is so friendly and it was really nice to talk to him and his friend. 😊 The place is also very comfortable and clean.

El alojamiento de Pedro es muy bonito. Nuestra habitación era muy amplia y tenía baño en la habitación. Hay una cocina para poder cocinar si quieres, pero Pedro prepara unos desayunos muy buenos. Nos encantó alojarnos aquí.

La cama tenía unos muelles que hacían ruido. Pero dormimos bien igualmente.

Adorei absolutamente tudo! Foi uma grata surpresa, o melhor lugar que fiquei na Coreia do Sul (e estou aqui há 3 meses!). O Pedro é generoso, caprichoso e carinhoso. A guesthouse é impecável de limpa. O bar fica super gostoso à noite, é frequentado por locais, e tem um clima muito convidativo para conversar ou apenas ler um livro. O café da manhã é pequeno e delicioso. Devo voltar logo. Não percam essa experiência, é realmente um achado na Coreia e em Gwangju.

Pedro himself was incredibly friendly and informative, giving us loads of information on the local activities to do as well as the history of Gwangju. We were treated to breakfast each morning with tea and coffee as well and always felt welcomed to linger around the communal area and never felt like we were becoming a burden

Die Unterkunft ist gut gelegen, vom Busbahnhof aus bequem in ca. 10 bis 15 Minuten mit dem Bus zu erreichen. (Die Touri-Info im Busbahnhof hilft mit Stadtkarte und Nummer der Buslinie weiter.) Zur Metrostation (Linie 1) sind es ca. 8 Minuten zu Fuß. Von dort kommt man recht schnell zu den meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten und ins Zentrum. (Unbedingt den Mudeungsan Nationalpark besuchen. Die Aussicht von oben ist spektakulär.) Das Viertel, in dem die Unterkunft liegt, ist mit seinen vielen kleinen Restaurants, Cafés und Minimärkten ideal für ein Eintauchen in die koreanische Kultur. Bei meiner Ankunft bekam ich ein Upgrade auf ein Zimmer in einem kleinen Appartement. Dieses lag in einem Nebengebäude, ca. 2 Minuten zu Fuß vom Hauptgebäude entfernt. Alles war sehr sauber, gemütlich und ruhig. Das Bett war super bequem. Das Frühstück in der Lounge des Hauptgebäudes war sehr vielfältig und lecker. Jeden Tag gab es etwas anderes. Obst und ein Ei waren immer dabei. Die Lounge, in dem auch ein für die Öffentlichkeit zugängliches Café liegt, ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und war ein beliebter Treffpunkt für Gäste und Menschen aus der Nachbarschaft. Bei reichlich ausliegender englischsprachiger Reiselektüre konnte man sich Inspirationen für künftige Reisen holen. Ich habe Pedro als sehr freundlichen, zugewandten Gastgeber und als vielseitig interessierten Gesprächspartner erlebt. Zu einer von ihm organisierten Geburtstagsparty eines Gastes waren auch die anderen Gäste des Hauses eingeladen. Alles in allem ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt. Ich kann diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Vi måste rekommendera vår värd Pedro som har skapat en så trevlig och familjär miljö. Han har hjälpt och tagit hand om oss på bästa sätt. Caféet i bottenvåningen är trevligt att hänga i och möta människor från alla håll i världen. Ett plus är att hans fru driver en yogastudio som vi besökte och hade glädje av. Ett unikt vattenhål i Gwangju.

Utazásom során az egyik legjobb atmoszférájú hely. Csodálatos vendégek, vendéglátók. A földszinten kis bár és az egyszerű reggeli is itt kerül felszolgálásra . Retro hangulat , nagyszerű életérzéssel.

A 201-es szoba volt az enyém, de igazából a 202 szoba bútorzata volt az amit a foglalásikor láttam. Így kicsit csalódottan vettem tudomásul , hogy a kényelmes karoszék helyett a franciaágyamon kívül egy másik üres ágy díszelgett a szobában.

L’ établissement est bien situé (à 5 min de marche du métro) et joliment décoré. Pedro est très accueillant et sympathique! La chambre était jolie et confortable. Le petit déjeuner est appréciable et varié.

Les rideaux n’étaient pas occultants (beaucoup de néons dans la rue) et les fenêtres mal insonorisées. Avec un masque et des bouchons d’oreilles, j’ai quand même bien dormi car le lit était très confortable.

The host, Pedro, ensured that we were comfortable. When he learnt that we will not be able to make it to his breakfast as we were leaving early, he packed us some bananas and oranges for our trip. He's very kind!

Немного не угадали с временем приезда Чусок изменил наши планы Просторный номер, тишина, близость в автобусной остановке и станции метро, все добавляет плюсы этому отелю. Но великолепный хозяин это еще 10 баллов! Педро это бриллиант! Спасибо!

Tout était parfait ! L'accueil, la grande chambre, le petit déjeuner varié, le bar au rez-de-chaussée où le prendre ou juste boire une bière locale en fin de journée. Pedro est très humain, souriant et disponible, contribuant à la réussite de notre séjour. Métro et bus à proximité pour se déplacer facilement vers les sites qui nous intéressaient dans et hors la ville. Parfait, donc ! Et encore merci, Pedro :)

Tout était super ! Pedro vous accueille personnellement pour le check-in, c'est très calme et propre, le petit déjeuner est copieux et on le prend dans le petit café adorable en bas de l'auberge. Il y a une cuisine / salle à manger aux deux étages. Franchement, c'est la meilleure auberge où j'ai pu loger en Corée, et ça tombait bien puisqu'il a plus pendant tout mon séjour à Gwangju ! C'était un petit havre de paix

清潔で綺麗ですが、私の泊まった時はほぼ誰もいなかったです（掃除をする必要がないから、綺麗なのは当然と言われればそうかもしれません。。）場所は中心部にも行けて少しだけローカルの雰囲気も感じれるちょうどいいバランスの立地だと思います。より都会な雰囲気や光州事件の５.18広場等の観光名所が目的の方は繁華街の方の宿を取った方がいいと思います。朝食がサービスに含まれていてオーナーさんがお皿に用意してくれた物を他のゲストと同じテーブルで食べる形です。ちょうどドイツ人のもう一人のゲストがいたので話して交流しながら頂きました。彼との会話は私がホステルに求めていたものだったのでうれしかったです。光州には他のより安いゲストハウスもあると思いますが、もう10,000ウォンくらい払うことでよりよい環境のドミトリールームでの滞在と他にゲストがいたらの話ですが、ホステルとしてはソーシャルホステルの雰囲気がかなりあるので他のゲストとの交流を楽しむことが出来ます。

韓国のホステルに多いですが、このホステルもセルフチェックインで非常にがっかりしました。スタッフとは私が出るときに一言コミュニケーションを取っただけです。事前に何時に行くと伝えてはいたので、できればそこで少しローカルの人と会話をしたかったです。（韓国語も勉強しているのでなおさらでした。）他の光州のゲストハウスよりもちょっと値段が高くてレビューを見てもホストとの会話が良かったと書かれていましたので、ソーシャルホステルなのか思い予約しましたが、記載したようにセルフチェックインでゲスト含め誰も居なかったのが残念でした。

Pedro is an amazing host and he does his absolutely best to make tour stay pleasant and enjoyable. The guesthouse is very charming and the cafe at the ground floor makes for an amazing hubgout space. Breakfast is also nice and refreshing. Better than most guesthouse breakfast in Korea

I was not a great fun of the location. It is not bad, it is close to the subway and there are things nearby but it is less impressive than the Hostel. But it can still work for many people

Amazing place. You can see how everything is organized and made with so much intention and love. The breakfast is healthy and you can share sometime with other guest. It has everything that we need. The location is perfect, close to buses and the subway. Pedro is an incredible human and chats with him are really interesting! ✨

We arrived in the morning and Pedro already let us into our room which was very convenient. We were in the side building which is in a quite alley with a spacious leaving room. From the accommodation, downtown can be easily reached with the nearby subway. We had to leave early the next day and Pedro provided us with a takeaway breakfast.

I was almost the only person staying there at the time. I could use the washing machine for free. Possibility to use fully equipped kitchen.

Breakfast is just from 9-10 and even when there is absolutely no one in the coffee place, that is not negotiable. No filtered water dispenser. When I arrived I had to walk around and find toilet paper because there was none in the bathroom.

- Pedro was super friendly and warm, always available for a little chat - The guesthouse was really cute, with lots of books everywhere, the room very spacious, and clean - The location is close to the bus terminal, and 7-8 minutes away from the main subway line to get you to the main attractions

Pedro is a super accommodating host. He greeted us and showed us to our room, he was very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The room and common area was clean, the bathroom was great, we had no problems
