Reviewed Sep 16, 2026Have stayed at Loddeys on a few occasions. The property has undergone extensive renovation. The pool and garden area very pretty. The new breakfast room is lovely, light and airy. Breakfast is very good too.

Makes us feel at home wasn't feeling like we guest but more like a being surrounded by family members. Absolutely love this for a first time guest love love it. Thank you and keep up the good work. Loddeys guesthouse will definitely be seeing us again.
The fact that we could use the braai area over the weekend in a celebration of the rugby game but totally understandable and respect the house rules.

Die Gästezimmer am Flur haben alte Holztüren, sodass man morgens jeden draußen hören kann. Auch gibt es keinen verdunkelungsrollo. im bad sollte der schwarze schimmel einmal gründlich entfernt werden und nicht mit fugenmaterial überklebt.

So nice to feel welcome and well looked after near the beach and all the restaurants etc. The staff are lovely, and the good breakfast comes along with excellent coffee. It is a little quirky, having multiple buildings along the road, but in my mind, this added to the character.

Wir glauben, dass man unsere Reservierung vergessen oder verwechselt hatte. Wurden dann separat im Nachbargebäude und nicht im Haupthaus einquartiert. Hat aber alles soweit gut geklappt.

The air conditioning was not working, and there was no fan provided in the room. My daughter and I struggled to sleep at night because the room was extremely hot and uncomfortable. I had originally booked the room for two weeks; however, due to these conditions, I was forced to leave after only one week. The lack of proper ventilation made it impossible for us to continue our stay.

I did not find the repeated pressure to specify an exact arrival time very comfortable, especially while we were out sightseeing on holidays. A slightly warmer and flexible approach from the host would have made the experience better.

Die Lage beklemmend. Das Zimmer hatte als Fenster ein kleines Oberlicht über dem Bett. Man fühlte sich wie in einer Innenkabine an Bord. Der Pool alles andere als einladend.

Leider die schlechteste Unterkunft in 3 Wochen Südafrika. Außer dem Schlafzimmer ist alles in keinem guten Zustand. Wohnzimmer zudem schmutzig (Sofa) . Bad viel zu klein, Wasser der Dusche läuft nicht ab.

The area, looked a bit dodgy with people walking up and down there felt a bit unsafe and having to walk across rhe road to the pool but other than that it was a very good stay.
