O'Loughlin's Bar

For being rooms above a bar the rooms and hallways area were quaint and well kept.The room was pretty much as expected when you are booking a room above a pub. It was small but clean and everything functioned as needed. We had a kettle for coffee or tea in the room. The bathroom was again small but functional. The proprietor was very friendly and I enjoyed a pint with him and the locals after dinner. There isn't much in town but O'Loughlin's is walkable to everything we needed and we had parking directly across the street.

There was a street/building light that shone in through the curtains which was annoying.

There was no breakfast. The room was very clean, the shower was excellent. It was exactly what we needed for The Irish Open weekend.

There was no breakfast included. It was expensive but it was the weekend of the Irish Open in nearby Doonbeg.

Booked at the very last minute following our flight being cancelled. Landlord was super helpful

The room was clean and equipped with everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable. We had breakfast with family nearby.

This room would benefit from a "Blackout blind " the street lighting disturbed our sleep. No option to keep our towels for the duration of our stay, (I am trying to save the planet)

The owner was super friendly. The location was perfect for what we wanted....which was to stroll around to the different pubs We had a beautiful lunch in the bakehouse restaurant across the road and a fab breakfast in O'Loughlin's restaurant right next to the bar we were staying in

This is just a general remark, not especially about O'Loughlins, the price of a room in Ireland is gone bonkers. €140 for a double room over a bar...I think that is a bit steep.

Entrance to hallway very dull and stairs poorly lit, rooms very basic, mattress very uncomfortable,no drinking glass in the room, asked if we could get more milk not delivered to room , sign on the door outside the hall " kitchen closed" breakfast was served next door this was not made clear, we paid 140 euros breakfast extra, which I think is quite expensive,

The restaurant and bar was closed due to some activities in the previous week in the town. The town didn't offer much choice, one bar open without anyone in it and another very poplar and therefore crowded. The proposed restaurant (only one open) had bad service and was overpriced. I had fish and chips, the fish was watery. I do not recommend this town to any visitor.

Owner not contactable Fire alarm went off during the night and no option but to call fire brigade to deal with the alarm. Owner eventually showed up 2 hours later and was annoyed we had rang the fire brigade. Didn’t offer any apology for the inconvenience.

Super friendly staff. Double rooms have 2 twin beds. Clean, today, comfortable. Not loud for being above a bar.

Cathal obviously cares deeply for the place and was lovely to talk with. location is excellent, kitchen wasn’t serving dinner during my stay, though i wish it was! i’ve never stayed somewhere with old timey keys for the locks and it was an absolute delight to discover

that i couldn’t stay longer.

Traveling with my mother,85, so Stairs a challenge and you wouldn't want to be overly big as tight bathroom space. Did the job and breakfast place downstairs.

Center of town location was great. Walkable to all necessities. Room was spotlessly clean and recently modernized.

Saturday night there was some music noise from next door or nearby which wasn’t pleasant but ended at a reasonable hour. Three flights of stairs might be difficult for some people.

The location is in the heart of town, and yet quiet. I had a tiny single room, which was still roomy because it was as carefully laid out as a small boat, with its own toilet and shower. And if you want to quickly become a local where everyone knows your name, just pop into the bar twice! The hosts are caring, genuine, hard-working owners who are available at all hours. I had a wonderful time!

If stairs are a problem, there’s no other option here. But Cathal carried my suitcase up in a flash.

A good stay for one night. Bathroom recent and clean, bed comfortable.

Excellent location, got parked across the BB, lovely lounge bar and the owner were lovely, couldn’t do enough for you, we were supposed to be there 25/26th July unfortunately we had a death, so I contacted Anne to let her know that Monday 25th, I couldn’t believe Anne contacted me to say they would honour our stay, so we got down this week Tuesday 5th and stayed for 2 nights, they didn’t have to do that specifically when we cancelled that day, that just show you how kind and thoughtful they are🥰🥰

Very friendly staff in the cozy bar with good tips for the area. The room was small but had everything necessary, and the communication with the property was smooth. Location in the main street near other cafes, bars and restaurants and only short drive away from Cliffs of Moher. Can be recommended!
