Reviewed Sep 6, 2026We loved the peace, serenity and beautiful nature all around us. Seeing the Milky Way at night was also a treat. 👌 We chose this stay specifically for the fact that Lucie takes in dogs that nobody else seems to want. Meeting Lucie and Philippe and all the dogs was the highlight of our trip to Portugal! Oh - and the outdoor bathroom was amazing! Looking in the mirror and seeing nothing but trees and hills was truly special. A true gem of an experience for anyone!
As our stay was the first week of September and very, very hot, we were quite toasty sleeping despite a good fan and airflow.

Reviewed Aug 12, 2026We had such a lovely time and was fantastic to meet all the pups and Lucie. The caravan is well equipped and comfortable and fantastic to spend a few day away from the city. We took our pup with us and Lucie even facilitated some socializing with some of the rescue dogs!

Reviewed May 21, 2026Die Animal Farm war DAS Highlight während meiner Wanderung auf dem Fisherman‘s Trail. Ich habe alles von Anfang bis Ende geliebt. Der Caravan, welcher als Unterkunft diente war sehr liebevoll eingerichtet, in hervorragenden Zustand und war traumhaft im Grünen positioniert, um Natur, Ruhe und Sonnenuntergang zu genießen. Alles war super sauber, das Bett war mehr als bequem und Küche sowie allgemeine Ausstattung lies keine Wünsche offen. Die Aussendusche war auch ein tolles Erlebnis und hatte sogar Warmwasser. Das Frühstück, welches man hinzubuchen konnte, war auch einfach nur klasse. Die Gastgeberin Lucie und ihr Nachbar Philippe waren so freundliche, herzliche und zuvorkommende Menschen, wie man sie selten trifft. Sie kümmern sich wirklich toll um die Tiere. Es handelt sich hier um echte Fürsorge, welche den Tieren zu Gute kommt und nicht als getarnte Bereicherungsquelle genutzt wird. Ich habe jede Sekunde genossen und wäre sehr gern länger da geblieben. Obwohl ich nur eine Nacht bleiben konnte, war es dennoch eine der Top3-Erfahrungen auf meinen Reisen und ich hoffe, ich kann bald wiederkommen.
Es gibt keine Kritikpunkte. Höchstens, dass ich gern mehr Zeit gehabt hätte. 😊

Reviewed Mar 14, 2026So eine schnuckelige Unterkunft ist selten. Sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, bei allem mitgedacht, von der Küche (Öl, Salz, Geschirrtuch etc), gute Beleuchtung im ‘Bad’, bis hin zur Heizung und Decken (braucht man im März :)) und toller Ausblick zum Sonnenuntergang und zum Sterne schauen!
Sehr guter Service durch die beiden Gastgeber. Um zum fishermen’s trail zu gelangen, gibt es die Möglichkeit gefahren zu werden - Daumen hoch! Kann ich auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Reviewed Aug 10, 2025Me gustó todo, es un sitio maravilloso donde estar tranquila, descansar y disfrutar. Luci es una persona encantadora, atenta cada día a nuestras necesidades. Una gran guia de la zona q nos indicaba cada día cuáles eran los mejores lugares q visitar. Sus perros son muy buenos y ella los cuida con mucho amor.
El lugar es ventilado, fresquito y silencioso.

Estás en medio del campo y cerca de todas las playas, no encantaron las explicaciones de la anfitriona y la libertad de ducharse al aire libre. La Caravana con todo lujo de detalles y atenciones. La zona del baño y la ducha, una buena experiencia como he dicho, a pesar de nuestras reticencias iniciales.
Llegamos a principios de Julio con ola de calor y el campo ya estaba muy seco. En la caravana hay que levantarse temprano por ese hecho.

Reviewed Jun 19, 2025Wer einen Ort sucht, um zu entschleunigen und zeitgleich auch noch in einem wundervoll eingerichteten Campingwagen zu übernachten, ist hier genau richtig. Lucy bat mir an, mich sowohl irgendwo abzuholen als auch wieder zurück zur Küste zu bringen. Wenn ich mehr Zeit gehabt hätte, wäre ich definitiv eine weitere Nacht geblieben und wäre auf das Angebot eingegangen am nächsten Tag gemeinsam mit den Hunden spazieren gegangen und die Schweine zu füttern.

Reviewed Jun 17, 2025We really enjoyed our stay in Lucie's small Paradies. Everything was as good as expected. The Caravan is located on beautiful property with view on the ocean (including incredible sunsets). The caravan it self is very cozy and has all the essentials u need for a stay. And even though you share the property with 2 humans and more then 20 animals, you will still have your privacy. It is best if you bring your own care or rent one because there is so much so explore in this area. Lucie' and Philipp are very kind. They will help you with Planing daily trips and give you all the information you need. Our car had a problem during the stay and they even took us to a mechanical station. I can highly recommend you to go for a walk with all the lovely doggies and Lucie. They are very cute and you can discover the beautiful property a little more. Sometimes one of the doggies even stayed for a bit at the Caravan outside while we were playing games. Really enjoyed to have some nice company. All in all one of the best experiences I had so far with booking.

Per chi come me sta percorrendo la rota Vicentina a piedi, bisogna tenere a mente che dal paese ad arrivare all' alloggio e poi tornare indietro la mattina seguente, sono 7 km in tutto in più da fare. Nel mio caso era meglio spendere qualcosa in più ma rimanere in paese.

Reviewed May 31, 2025Great location with distant view of the sea. Nice breeze even on a hot day. Very comfortable caravan with some shade and a picnic table. Located within a dog rescue area making it fun and quite unique. Close enough for hikers on the Historical Trail particularly given the hosts offer to help out with a ride.
Caravan is a little small though very functional. Could be a little bit less expensive. Given the good work Lucie does for the dogs with the cash earned, it’s understandable 😀.

voller Herzenswärme, einem Gefühl von Freiheit und gleichzeitig Geborgenheit!
Ich war leider nur eine Nacht in Lucys „Nest“. Es war alles blitzsauber, ich fühlte mich sicher, willkommen und konnte diesen Ort mit seiner besonderen Ruhe, seinem Charme in seiner ganzen Einzigartigkeit geniessen! Der Wohnwagen ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man so braucht .. und noch mehr! Küche komplett, Heizung, Handtücher, warme Dusche, Wasser uvm. Lucy hat mir ein superleckeres Rezept mit den dazugehörigen Zutaten inkl. gewünschter Getränke sowie einem reichhaltigen Frühstück zu einem sehr fairen Preis bereitgestellt. Selbst kochen durfte ich im WoWa, das mehr als reichliche Essen mit Meerblick im Sonnenuntergang genießen! Lucy holt euch gegen eine kleine Gebühr auch ab, oder lässt euch abholen! Dafür war ich sehr dankbar und habe gleich noch eine Bekanntschaft mit Phillipe machen dürfen! Ich suchte nach Ruhe auf meinem Weg am Fishermans Trail, und war als alleinreisende Frau etwas unsicher, wie ich dorthin kommen sollte! Außerdem absolut positiv hervorzuheben: superschnelle Antworten, sehr verbindlich, ein supertoller Kontakt! Wer keine Sternehotels mag und die Seele baumeln lassen möchte, dem quaken der Frösche und dem Zirpen der Grillen lauschen möchte ist hier genau richtig!

Reviewed Apr 12, 2025The camper was tastefully decorated, well equipped, spotless clean, warm. The toilet and shower are arranged outside - all very clean but in winter it might be a challenge as it is cold. It is very quiet and we had a privet concert with our dinner (cicadas were playing 😁). In the morning you wake up with the birds. We bought some groceries for dinner and breakfast in the Intermarshe but you can ask the owner to do it for you for a set fee. Phillip picked us up from the shop as the camping is a bit off the track. He also dropped us the following day on the Rota Vincentina. We took the opportunity and walked the rescued dogs and fed the Vietnamese pigs. It was one of the best accommodation on our route. Thank you.
It is a bit off the track but with the offered pick up is not a problem.

Reviewed Jan 3, 2025Der Wohnwagen ist total gemütlich mit einem tollen Blick aufs Meer. Ich war mit meinen zwei Hunden dort und sie hatten draußen viele Platz zum toben oder in der Sonne chillen. Man steht dort wirklich sehr privat, da viele Bäumen und Sträucher einen Sichtschutz bieten.
Lucie die Vermieterin ist einfach nur toll und sorgt dafür das es einem an nix fehlt.

Reviewed Jun 27, 2024I really liked the setup of this cozy caravan with a small kitchen, an outdoor shower and a comfortable bed. And wth abeautiful view as well. The host (Lucie) can provide the ingredients for a dinner and breakfast, which was very welcome as I was walking the Caminho Historico. I loved meeting the dogs and pigs at the nearby sanctuary as well. Recommended!

Reviewed Jun 11, 2024O melhor da estadia foi a simpatia da anfitriã sem dúvida! Uma pessoa bondosa e muito inspiradora que posso dizer que tive o prazer de conhecer. Me fez sentir em casa. Demos um passeio pela propriedade com todos os cãezinhos que são adoráveis e demos comida aos porquinhos que são super engraçados. Uma experiência mesmo enriquecedora. Na caravana tudo estava pensado ao pormenor para ter a melhor estadia com o conforto necessário.

Reviewed May 28, 2024Voor mij was het de leukste en fijnste plek waar ik overnacht heb tijdens mijn wandeltocht! De sfeervolle en comfortabele caravan staat op een mooie plek met uitzicht op de zee ver weg en de velden. Douchen buiten was een ware belevenis en vooral de ontmoeting met Lucie, Philippe en de honden was hartverwarmend!
Dat ik niet langer kon blijven omdat het volgeboekt was.

Reviewed May 25, 2024The caravan is such a beautiful little space, all newly done up, and you can tell it was done with a lot of love, from a really cozy bed to a little book swap corner of international reads. Nice little terrace area in front, too, with tables and deck chairs from which to watch the sunset. I had such a restful night there, really wished I had booked for a bit longer.
Lucie and her dogs are very special, too. She's a really interesting person to talk to, and it was lovely to be invited to join them for their evening walk.
This is obviously not your mainstream booking, so if you're not into dogs or eco-glamping, then maybe it's not for you (Worth stating as I hear from Lucie and her colleague that unfortunately they've been getting a couple bad reviews from people who maybe hadn't appreciated this, which seems unfair). If you do, you'll have a great and unique time. I'd highly recommend it.
Es ist sehr, sehr ruhig - es sei denn die Hunde bellen, aber das passiert nur am Anfang mal. Die sauberste Außendusche, die ich jemals gesehen habe.
Die Hunde sind zum Teil recht unfreundlich, bellen sehr laut und "bewachten" uns bis wir am Ausgang waren. Ganz wohl habe ich mich mit ihnen nicht gefühlt, vor allem nachdem die BEsitzerin gegangen war und die Hunde dagelassen hatte. Das Frühstück fand ich absolut überteuert.

Reviewed Apr 6, 2024Ein sehr spezieller und einmaliger Ort. Es hat sich für uns allemal gelohnt aus Sao Teotonio hierher zu kommen und die paar extra Kilometer in Kauf zu nehmen.
Sehr liebevoll ausgebauter Wohnwagen, mit allem, was man braucht. Das Bett war bequem, die Lage unbeschreiblich schön, mitten in der Natur. Sehr tolle Außendusche, während es um einen aus Strömen regnet, steht man unter einer heißen Dusche, genial.
Zuvor kann man kommunizieren, ob man ein DIY-Frühstück (Abendessen auch möglich) haben möchte, welches dann schon im Van bereit steht.
Die Gastgeberin Lucie ist sehr bemüht, freundlich und sorgt sich um das Wohlergehen ihrer Gäste. Uns wurde angeboten uns abzuholen, da starker Regen bevorstand.
Leider konnten wir aufgrund des anhaltenden Regens die vielen Vierbeiner nicht begrüßen… alleine dies ist ein Grund wieder zu kommen.
Top! Hier unterstützt man mit seiner Übernachtung einen guten Zweck und wird mit einem einmaligen Erlebnis belohnt. Einer der besten und außergewöhnlichsten Unterkünfte auf unserer Rota Vicentina Wanderung!

Reviewed Mar 30, 2024Pasé una noche aquí haciendo la Rota Vicentina y la experiencia fue increíble. La propietaria fue muy amable, dándome toda la informacion necesaria los días antes, estuvimos siempre en contacto y lo agradecí mucho. La caravana es súper bonita y cómoda!! No me quería ir de ahí. Es incluso más bonita que en las fotos. Llegué después de caminar bajo la lluvia y estuve muy abrigada y caliente, la ducha también funciona a la perfección. La estructura queda un poco fuera del pueblo pero ella ofrece el servicio de recogida de pago. Ofrece también dejar ingredientes para prepararse comida. Yo personalmente hice la compra yo misma, y ahí tenía todo lo necesario para preparar, incluso 5 litros de agua gratis. No dudéis en ir!!! De las mejores experiencias de mi viaje

Reviewed Jan 31, 2024What a magical place! I stayed here while hiking the Rota Vicentina and it was such a peaceful haven. Lucie was so welcoming and it was wonderful getting to meet all the animals. The best part is staying here helps support the sanctuary. I wish I could have stayed longer!

The caravan had everything we needed and Lucie provided us with the ingredients to a delicious DIY-Dinner
and some tasty wine.
We got the chance to meet all the lovely dogs and pigs on a walk around the property.
Lucie told us a lot of backstories, has a big heart for animals and takes good care of them.

Reviewed Jan 31, 2024We stayed here for 1 night during our hike on the Rota Vincentina, and loved it!!! The caravan is so well-equipped, and one can really feel how it’s been done in a very thoughtful and creative way. The area is peaceful and quiet and yet close to São Teotónio.
The hosts (and dogs) are so friendly and attentive, communication was easy and we were offered a pick-up for a small extra fee. Otherwise, it’s about a 30-40 minute walk from the centre of São Teotónio (which we did in the morning sun).
We were provided the ingredients for a delicious vegetarian meal to cook ourselves and also a very elaborate breakfast, for an affordable price. We found our whole stay very cozy and comfortable, and would therefore come back and totally recommend it!

An amazing location, with a lot of privacy and freedom. The caravan was super cozy and the bed very comfortable. Lucy, the host, is friendly and helpful. I loved the dogs.
I was hiking from Lagos to Santiago do Cacem and the location is just 2-3 kms off route, but the host can pick you up if you like.
