Great location. A getaway in nature without being too far from the main amenities of Matakana. The place was beautiful and comfortably accommodated 8 adults.

Location was beautiful, home was immaculate!

Getting up the road was an experience! No problems just longer and steeper than I expected!

Wonderful large home surrounded by bush and a stream, peaceful and comfortable with large rooms and 2 bathrooms. location close to Matakana Village. It was the perfect option for our extended family to stay and to get to and from The Stables Wedding venue.

Ute and car access to accommodation behind us spoiled the peace a bit. Tricky passing other vehicles on the single lane driveway.

We all loved how the retreat was furnished, location was perfect and almost everything we needed was available. Perfect for our group and just before our wedding day.

Very remote which was great for privacy but not so great as wr were taxi ing our daughtet :)

Loved how private it is with its location. Place beautiful and clean. Nice place to if you want to get away from the city life.

We had the most beautiful time away at the Matakana Retreat! We were there during a storm and it was so cozy. The rooms were all perfect. The kitchen was amazing. The fire kept us nice and toasty. We loved every minute of it! Highly recommend.

The environment was really peaceful and close to nature. The design of the house was impeccable, and very thoughtful. You can tell a lot of love was put into designing it.

The upstairs shower had a little bit of inconsistency with the hot water and cold water, but only temporarily.

Everything was stunning the house and the location the common areas suited our group and it was close to the village but completely private.

There were no negatives.

The facilities were very modern and clean.

There was no microwave so it was a little inconvenient to heat up food

This place is absolutely beautiful and so thoughtfully set up for guests! The location is perfect - it really feels like a relaxing retreat. The amenities were awesome, and having fresh milk waiting for us was such a nice touch. Everyone couldn’t stop talking about how comfy the beds were. The hosts had great communication & we’d love to come back. Thanks again for everything!

Superbly equipped and beautifully secluded from the world.

A great place for a family weekend with everything we needed in an lovely private setting. The location was very convenient for snorkeling at Goat Island Marine Reserve and visiting Tawharanui Regional Park.

The place is so clean and neat. I love the design and the furniture in the house.

A beautiful space, lovingly presented

A very nice, quiet location surrounded by bush which suited our walking group. Very spacious inside, with good decking to sit outside. Well equipped kitchen. Road no problem to access. Comfy beds. Plenty of hot water.

Would like to have known linen didn't include handtowels, teatowels or dishclothes as haven't struck that before when we go away as a group. Also, a couple of very chilly nights even though beginning of November, so if there had been wood (as stated) we would have lit the fire.

Location, location, location! Best spot to recharge and unwind. Well thought out accommodation. The owners have thought of everything to ensure an enjoyable stay. The starlink is very fast, we took our laptop and watched the Warriors and All Blacks, via an hdmi cable to the tv. Beautiful whare.

Very minor issues, the generator kicked in at 2am, and set off the extraction fan in the kitchen. In the mezzanine bedroom you can hear the generator working through the floor. The oven had no instructions, so it took a while to figure out. A quick guide would be helpful for future visitors.

Great place, we did a mum and kids night, was very nice, the kids had fun, wish we could have stayed a little more to explore.

excellent location off the grid set in the bush. total privacy. A great place to relax and unwind.

Maybe just a comfy couch in the lounge. It was rather hard as was the window box seat. It is predominantly a Summer getaway but cozy for a Winter stay. 1 drawback was that we could not dine inside as a family gathered around the table for a birthday feast- as there was no indoor table and chairs, even though there was plenty of space to put them. There was a large outdoor table and chairs but the weather did not permit outdoor dining at this time.
