From the moment we arrived we got a heartfelt welcome with more than we could ever expect. Adéle went out if her way, ensuring that we are comfortable and had everything we needed. She is an absolute treasure and the most amazing host. We thoroughly enjoyed and stay!

Everything was just perfect!

I loved the toiletry decorations the taps the shower and the toilet. I really liked the bed. It was very comfortable and the light beside the bed was fantastic. The presence of Rusk and milk in the air fryer and the kettle all made the space very welcoming along with our host opening the gate and welcoming us in the door.

We enjoyed the quiet neighbourhood. The bed was comfortable.

We couldn’t get the shower to remain warm. It kept fluctuating from boiling hot to icy cold. There was also a tripping of the electricity.

Although I had codes to the locks on the gates, the owner was present to receive me and opened the unit and briefly showed me the unit. The unit was well equipped in terms of furniture and other appliances, and the TV was on a neutral channel. The unit was very well prepared in terms of neatness and facilities. I sensed a very faint, pleasant fragrance in the room. There was also a complimentary bottle of wine in the fridge. All the appliances in the kitchen are almost new and of a high standard. A proper cleaning service was rendered on the second day of my stay, whereas most institutions only come to clean after one vacates the room. Furthermore, a laundry service was rendered on a Sunday! On the Sunday afternoon, the owner also offered some soft drinks to me and some other guests. The owner also forwarded a comprehensive list of amenities in town, such as information of restaurants and different shops, which makes live slightly easier for visitors. I also need to point out that this guesthouse provides high quality two-ply toilet paper, whereas many facilities provide extra-thin, low quality, "steal-me-if you-want-to" toilet paper! The unit offers a proper built-in braai/barbeque facility. On my day of departure, a construction team arrived at the premises to further upgrade the facilities.

If I have to list something, I will indicate that the combination-lock of the main gate can be quite a challenge at night!

Not easy to find

Very comfortable (notwithstanding the heatwave…there was a great aircon); very cute. Friendly and generous host. She had recommended restaurants with decent air conditioning (It was 42degrees when we were there). Clanwilliam was a nice town and we checked out the House of Rooibus before leaving.

Nothing not to like. Perfect for two. (It may be a bit crowded around the bistro table and in the „kitchen area“ if there were more than two.)

Our host Adele was wonderful. She had several good tips where to go and when we did a 'braai' we got from her home made pickled beets, green beans and pasta salad.

We llover the outlay of the place, the easy access booking in. All the small detail, like yummy coffee and milk and the bottle of wine. Great treat!

The new single beds in the one room. Lived the double bed before. But this is obviously practical for family with 3 kids

I was lucky enough to stay at The Camino studio apartment at Leipoldt Street 3, Clanwilliam, which my friend booked for me while travelling the route from Cape Town to Namibia. Staying here during summer was a real treat — the air-conditioning was a lifesaver and made the heat completely manageable. I was working remotely and found the internet fast and reliable, which made late-night online meetings in South African time an absolute breeze. Having Netflix with plenty of viewing options was a bonus during quiet hours. The host truly goes above and beyond. I was spoiled with a beautiful selection of Italian coffee, chicory, excellent Rooibos tea, and delicious rusks for breakfast. Little touches like this made the stay feel thoughtful and welcoming. I also appreciated being able to do laundry and hang it out while enjoying a peaceful late-afternoon Qigong session in the garden — such a calm and grounding space. The host even helped me book one of the best massages I’ve had in a long time, just a five-minute walk away in Voortrekker Street, conveniently close and easy to find. In the evening, I followed one of the many dinner suggestions provided, and it did not disappoint. It’s rare to find a hostess who puts in this level of care — she didn’t just go the extra mile, she went ten more. A truly memorable stop, and I would highly recommend The Camino to anyone passing through Clanwilliam, especially those working remotely or travelling long distances.

Adele is such a lovely host, she not only arranged so much for us , as sending us adresses and locations to visit, booking table at restaurant, but also got us some of her home planted delicious rooibos tea, highly recommended! Try to stay with Adele if you got a chance!

The host was super friendly and helpfull! We really enjoyed our time in Clanwilliam. The accomodation was super relaxed and the braai outside was perfect to end the day!

There are a lot of ants, but the cleaner comes in everyday so not a big problem

The facility is very easy to find. The instructions were very clear on how to access the property. The area is very peaceful and quiet. I will definitely recommend and will come back when I need accomodation in Clanwilliam again.

Adele is amazing. She is an awesome tourism ambassador for Clanwilliam. She focuses on the little added things eg. we arrived extremely late and she had catered some eats for us and for an 18 month old toddler. The accommodation was cosy, neat, clean with everything one needed for a few days to get away. Adele is knowledgeable, informative and extremely helpful. The property is beautifully maintained. It was an absolute pleasure to be hosted there. I will definitely be returning.

What makes it outstanding, however, is the friendliness, helpfulness and generosity of Adele who is the best host we have met over many years of travel in many countries. She made our stay so enjoyable.

We had a wonderful stay in Clanwilliam! Adele, the host, was absolutely fantastic, always incredibly kind, helpful, and available for anything we needed. The apartment was spotless and equipped with excellent amenities. We never missed a thing during our stay. P.S. We loved the rooibos jelly and all the little touches she surprised us with throughout our time there – it really made us feel at home. If we return to South Africa, we won’t have any doubts about where to stay – this will be our first choice for sure!

Amazing host with great hospitality, so many lovely added extras. I've been travelling in South Africa for over 2 months and this has been my favourite stay! Bed was very comfy, great aircon, WiFi, cooking facilities.
