Unfortunately their dog gave me an asthma attack and we were unable to stay but we were charged all the same.

Beautiful home, clean and very comfortable, we were catching the 2.30am ferry and booked last minute, the hosts were friendly and very welcoming, would definitely book with them again.

Lovely place to stay, the host was very accommodating to last minute changes with our stay, due delays in our ferry crossing. The bed was fantasticly comfortable.

Quiet and handy location which was more home stay than room. Run by a friendly family and it was a pleasure to get an insight into the life of genuine locals. Kind of charming daughter to make us B’fast before she headed off to College.

Nothing really (but tiny point, I’d swap the big cosy chair for another side table and add a small mirror in the room so aren’t reliant on the bathroom for that).

Set in a lovely house in elevated location. Very nice hosts. Bathroom very nice. Continental breakfast very nice except as below. Comfortable bed.

Our mistake for missing that the room was with a shared bathroom. As seniors in our 70s, we preferred our own separate bathroom. Our room was quite small compared to other B&Bs on our tour. No TV in bedroom. Bedside table and light on one side of bed only. Likely a one-off error, but jam at breakfast had mould on it, honey jar was empty, and marmalade smelled off. (Other food very good). Shower was good, but nearly overflowed as waste had not been cleared of hair, etc. After we cleaned it, it was fine.

A lovely property and a cosy and comfortable room/bed, I got in late so I missed breakfast, but I really appreciated that when I woke up there was still a beautifully laid out breakfast waiting for me.

I perhaps would have appreciated a television in the room, but apart from that it was a lovely room/accommodation

Loved the fact that they cater for the midnight ferry crossing. Facilities were clean and lovely. Host was very kind and friendly.

We couldn’t find the bathroom as the door was shut and no signage on the outside. Didn’t want to open another persons room by accident. Went to have a drink but the milk was off.

Great hosts super room

We stayed for one night and found the accommodation very clean and comfortable. The bed was super comfy, and the self check-in/check-out process made everything quick and easy. Although we didn’t meet the hosts due to our late arrival and early departure, communication and access were seamless. The location was ideal for our early ferry, which we really appreciated.

From arrival till we left the hosts were lovely and treated us like friends. The room was lovely, the bed was super warm and comfy. We opted to have the breakfast which they provided in plenty with lots of options.

everything just a room with bed and chestier draws no tv, told breakfast 8-830am went to stair way at 815am called out but no answer knocked on front door no answer had cab booked for 9 am so missed out on breakfast $215.00 room no tv and no breakfast what a waste of money 15min out of town owners didn't even offer to take us in to town had to get cab $25 each way very poor effort on owners of this B&B not recommended at all

It was very clean, and the host was friendly. It is perhaps a property better suited to advertising on Airbnb, where there is more accommodation, such as this, where one is renting a room in someone's actual house, as opposed to dedicated purpose-built holiday accommodation for travellers and tourists.

This is a downstairs bedroom (with external access) within a family home. It is not bespoke holiday accommodation. Although the listing does apparently state that you don't have a bathroom, this was not obvious to me in the listing. Both we and the other couple in the house were surprised to find we were sharing a bathroom. The bedroom is very small, but would have been Okay if not for the huge pieces of furniture (chest of drawers and armchair) taking up all the available spare space. No room for 2 suitcases. Only one bedside table.

The host Nicola was so nice! Everything was neat and clean.

Die Zimmer sind relativ klein, jedoch sehr ansprechend eingerichtet, genauso wie das (Gemeinschafts-)Bad. Wir hatten ein sehr gutes Frühstück, der Gastgeber ist sehr nett und aufmerksam.

Die Einfahrt war etwas schwer zu finden, trotz der Beschreibung der Gastgeber. Eigentlich unser Fehler, weil wir es überlesen haben, aber ein Gemeinschaftsbad für die (zwei) Gästezimmer ist normalerweise für uns ein No-Go. Hat sich erledigt, weil wir allein waren und ist nicht in die Bewertung eingeflossen (weil unser Fehler)

Freundlicher Empfang von John trotz Ankunft nach 19 Uhr 😄. Das Zimmer war picobello, das grosse, blitzsaubere Gemeinschadts-Bad (für max. 2 Zimmer) hatten wir für uns alleine. Nach einem erlebnisreichen Tag auf hoher See genossen wir ein Glas Wein in der Sitzecke vor unserem Zimmer. Das hübsche, überschaubare Zentrum von Picton (mit allem, was das Traveller-Herz begehrt) ist etwa 5 Fahrminuten entfernt. Wir hätten also auch länger hier verweilt 😄...

What an incredible place to stay! It’s the ultimate escape—so quiet and serene. The bed is like sleeping on a cloud, and the room is immaculate. The bathroom has everything you could possibly need, and there’s a delightful coffee station and a fridge at your fingertips! In the morning, they whip up a fantastic breakfast, and you can enjoy some great conversation before hitting the road. It's the perfect way to start your day!

I didn't like not being able to stay longer

John, Nikola and family (including Tilley - fur child) were lovely and welcoming. The house and property were clean and well organized with stunning backdrops. It was nice to meet other guests (a couple from Germany) at the breakfast table and learn about their adventures.

The taxi service didn’t run at night so my arrival on the Intercity bus from Blenheim could have been a disaster. The very kind bus driver went out of his way to get me closer to the B and B. Failing his kindness, I don’t know how I would have reached the B and B. No Uber in this small town so it’s a bit difficult to get around but definitely doable. Nikola was also quite helpful in this regard.

Nicola, John and their family are such lovely hosts. We had an amazing time there and wish we could have stayed longer. It's like staying with family or friends rather than a hotel. Beds were also very comfy. Definitely recommend!

Very cosy atmosphere and clean. Bed was comfy. Nice and private in the our staying area downstairs. Amenities were great.

The spot was nice and quiet and close to everything we needed to do while there. The hosts were so understanding as we had a bit of a hiccup with our plans the first day and ended up coming in really late that night.

The driveway is a bit tricky but doable.

We loved the cleanliness and modern decor. Tastefully decorated. We enjoyed the continental breakfast, especially the delicious fresh fruit salad. The door to the bedroom drew back fully, giving that outdoor/indoor flow, with a small table and chairs for us to enjoy our meal on. The bed was super comfortable due to the memory foam mattress. But most memorable was the friendly, welcoming hosts. John and Nicole have created a lovely home, and their daughters are very much a part of creating that welcoming atmosphere.
