The accommodation is spacious and clean! It has everything you need and more! Great view and we loved the life stock. The jacuzzi is a great addition with an awesome view! We will definitely be staying there again!

There was nothing we did not like! Everything was perfect, we cannot fault anything!

The unit was nice and spacious, well-equipped. Amazing views and the hot tub (although not used by us) is a bonus - plenty of wood to keep it going until it's nice and toasty.

Everything about the house was amazing. Lots of space, beautiful views and had everything you needed. Would be great for a small family reunion as there is a communal kitchen, bathrooms, pizza oven, hall and play area for kids.

The road to the house is gravel road which is a bit annoying to drive when you have a small car.

Jan is an exceptional host - present when you need him, invisible when you don't. The hot tub on the private deck with the river sounds below and sheep on the hills and meadows down below, was pure magic, and the welcome touch of fresh farm eggs, real milk, coffee pods and a Nespresso machine made arrival feel genuinely special. The pizza oven, fishing rod, dam paddle, and ample firewood meant there was always something to enjoy without ever feeling like you had to leave the farm.

We genuinely struggled to find fault with this stay. Cell signal and internet connectivity are very limited in this area, which is worth knowing in advance - though for us, it was exactly what we were after and added to the experience of switching off completely.

Loved the peacefulness and fresh air. Our host was excellent. If you are a gravel/dirt road lover this is the place for you. Enjoyed Grootvadersbosh, Barrydale, Stillbaai, Vermaaklikheid and Puntjie all accessible via dirt/ gravel roads. Beautiful scenery.

Stunning place if you want to wind down, much bigger than it looks in the pictures. Private and feels safe with lots of animals around and beautiful mountain views. Loved the interiors and everything you would need from a self catering unit is available. Will definitely be back. Thanks Jan

Would highly recommend this gem of a relaxing farm stay! Easily accessible by car via a dirt road, great views, a comfortable and well equipped home away from experience for our stop over to the garden route. The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming, showing us around the property and making sure we're settled in nicely. We will definitely be back for a longer stay to enjoy all the farm has to offer.

Everything was superb. The only small suggestion one could make is to provide some extra portable lighting/candles for sitting outside on the stoep at night.

Wir haben diese Unterkunft ausgewählt, da sie genau in der Mitte zwischen Wilderness und den Winelands lag. Wir waren so begeistert, dass wir sogar um eine Nacht verlängert haben. Im Haus hat man alles was man braucht und es ist sauber. Dazu kommt der wirklich coole Hot Tub auf der Terrasse, der Naturbadeteich zum Abkühlen, die Schaukeln für die Kinder, die Tiere und die Herzlichkeit der Gastgeber. In 15 Jahren, wenn die Kinder aus dem Haus sind, kommen wir wieder ;)

Fenomenale uitzichten vanuit een meer dan luxe huis. Buitengewoon fraai afgelegen ligging. Hot tub werd al opgestookt toen we aankwamen en verse melk en eieren stonden reeds klaar. Bijzonder gastvrij.

Peace and tranquility. Definitely a place to visit if you want to recharge and soak in the natural beauty of the farm and breathtaking landscape. The facilities are superb, staff are ver friendly and the location is great. The wood fired hot tub is an absolute treat, pizza oven, braai...everything is planned around comfort and peace.

The location is wonderful and the unit is very spacious, clean and very well equipped. The view off the deck is amazing. We were very comfortable.

The water pressure in the shower remains a problem. It just trickles out (it was not good when we stayed last either). It will unfortunately mean we will look for another place to stay next time if it isn't resolved.

The owners did so much effort to make it special they were friendly the place had everything one needs to make it a home away from home. This is a place ill definitely visit again!

One of the best places we have been, easy to find, very well equipped, there is nothing that I could say, oh I should have brought this or that. It is modern and clean, we stayed in the house closest to the dam, it was great, we used our SUP board, but there are canoes a boat and life jackets available. Everything is close together. And most important it is pet friendly. The kolkol was amazing, never knew it was so easy and quick to heat up. The pizza oven was also so much fun. A play area with trampoline which the kids loved. And the farm animals also a great experience. You will not regret staying here. The owners such a lovely couple! We will be back soon!

What an amazing experience! The perfect blend of luxury and farm life. From soaking in your private hot tub with its majestic views of the valley and mountains to making and baking your own pizzas. The accommodation was beautiful and clean inside and out. No expense has been spared in furnishing the house with good quality items. We were even given fresh farm milk, eggs and some of Jan's self-made braai wors. When he found out that our dog got to the wors before we did, Jan happily offered to give us another bag! In summary: beautiful accommodation, perfect location and a friendly, helpful host. We will certainly be back!

No need to bring Anything. Exceptional host who even gave us some of his homemade farm sausage to braai. We loved the pizza oven too.

Located on a farm, the unit is absolutely lovely. It is very spacious and clean, and my family and I were so pleasantly surprised at the hosts' attention to detail in terms of providing us with what we would need. Jan and Annelie were very friendly, attentive and accommodating. We wouldn't hesitate to book a stay at House On The Hill again!

I can't think of anything that we didn't enjoy about our stay; it was incredibly enjoyable and we were provided with everything we needed.

Beautiful views all around, the location is very peaceful and relaxing. The hosts are very friendly and only to eager to help make your stay better.

The internet coverage is very poor, so much so we were not even able to view TV and there is no mobile phone coverage

Easy access to the most tranquil destination. Definitely worth staying a night or weekend. Great for families, couples or travellers looking for a place to spend the night.

The farm fresh milk was delicious!

Unfortunately we only spent 1 night. We overnighted on the way to Capetown but will definitely be back for a longer stay. The unit was neat, tidy, and very comfortable. Personal touches galore with everything we needed. Unfortunately it was raining so we were unable to use the hot tub which the host kindly pre-heated for us, but will definitely do so next time. Easy to find and we'll situated between George and Capetown. The farm is stunning and waking up to the amazing view and farm sounds was a wonderful surprise!

Our stay was too short!

We enjoyed the attention n to detail, for example the wood they supplied, fire lighters, well equipped kitchen, well equipped and stocked bathrooms, making our pets comfortable, walks on the farm was also nice with farm animals.

Beautiful location with wonderful views. Out of town, but close enough for access to amenities if required. Fully equipped with all that may be required and also fully off-grid, so no impact from loadshedding, etc. The coffee pods, rusks, fresh milk were a nice touch.

I loved the stay because it offered a peaceful escape in a beautiful rural setting with new amenities, thoughtful touches, and friendly hosts, making it a truly relaxing and memorable experience.

There wasn't much to dislike about our stay, but if I had to nitpick, the only minor inconvenience was the rainy weather, which limited our outdoor activities, but the cozy interior of "House on the Hill" made up for it.
