Reviewed Nov 20, 2025Location is great - close to the main must see destinations of Co. Wicklow. Room and bathroom were spotless clean and surprisingly warm with very recent renovation made with great taste. The place is quiet. And of course, Shelley is a super friendly host.

Reviewed Oct 27, 2025The room was nice and clean, I liked that it had a water boiler and WiFi. Breakfast was excellent. But what made my stay absolutely exceptional was Shelley herself. She's such a lovely lady, she clearly cares about her guests and does her best to make their stay as great as can be. She made me feel really comfortable and even dropped me off at the train station. I'd come back just for her (and her breakfast). :-)

Our room was very pretty, decorated with care, and had tea/coffee making facilities, iron, hair dryer, etc. The bathroom was beautiful with a great walk-in shower. Breakfast was very generous with options for everyone.

It' s on a very busy road and thera's too much noise during the evening and night. You have to open a window during the night because otherwise it is to warm. Ask for room 4. That room has two windows. One on the quiet backside.

Reviewed Sep 3, 2025Shelly was the most welcoming of hosts we have experienced in our 5 week trip from Australia. Breakfast portions were generous and cooked to perfection. For the active guests Rathdrum was an easy walk. The N11 Avondale restaurant was excellent. The Wicklow area is a place of outstanding natural beauty. The nearby Botanical Gardens are a worthwhile destination with free entry
We were challenged by the TV but accidentally stumbled on the original Lone Ranger series in glorious B&W. Binge watched a series!! Hi Ho Silver.

Reviewed Aug 27, 2025Great communication meant finding the accommodation was straightforward. It was super clean and very homely. The standard breakfast was really good and if a cooked breakfast is required (extra cost) it is extremely ample, with something for the whole family. The location is very close to the town, the host was fantastic and was very happy to help.
The only reason this is a 9 and not a 10 is not knowing about the air con unit in the bedroom, although a fan was also supplied.

Reviewed Jul 15, 2025Zeer vriendelijke eigenaresse; veel keuze bij het ontbijt. Host had goede suggesties voor avondeten in het dorp, en bood zelfs aan ons te halen en brengen.
De vier kamers bevinden zich allemaal op de verdieping van het huis, en zijn vrij klein. De badkamer is erg smal,; het toilet bevindt zich onder de schuine kant. Vooral voor mannen, erg onhandig. Wij troffen een nacht dat het erg warmen oncomfortabel was in de kamer; eigenaresse gaf aan bezig te zijn met airconditioners. Bij het ontbijt veel keuze maar van de pannenkoeken hadden we het idee dat ze uit de supermarkt kwamen.

Reviewed Jul 1, 2025It was easy to find and Shelly had the gate open for me as she knew when I was going to be arriving. She was extremely friendly, offered me some suggestions and options of things to do. The room was clean and had all the amenities I could need, plus some! I had an early start the next morning, but I loved the extra touch of being able to grab a baked good to eat in the car on my way to the next destination.

Das Frühstück war super und wurde ganz frisch zubereitet. Parkplatz war direkt auf dem Grundstück. Herzlichen Dank an Shelby, wir kommen gerne wieder.
