Joy's River Lodge

Loved the location and the comfort of the cabin! It was fresh and so clean and had everything you could need.

Nothing about this property I didn’t like!

Die Lage am Fluss ist einmalig. Wir hatten Glück mit dem Wetter und konnten während der Woche unseres Aufenthalts die schöne Außenanlage ausgiebig genießen. Die Stadt mit Geschäften und Restaurants ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Die Kommunikation mit Elodie war immer sehr angenehm und schnell. Sehr praktisch ist auch der extra Hauswirtschaftsraum mit Waschmaschine und Trockner.

Die beiden Schlafzimmer sind recht klein. In dem kleineren Zimmer ist neben dem relativ schmalen franz. Bett (was uns aus der Beschreibung bewusst war) kein Platz um größere Koffer oder Taschen zu lagern. Die beiden Allergiker in unserer Familie hatten im Wohnzimmer große Probleme. Was genau die starken Symptome ausgelöst hat, können wir nicht sagen. Die Sessel und das Sofa waren schon älter und wir vermuten, diese stark mit Hausstaubmilben belastet sind. Für Nichtallergiker stellt sich das Problem nicht.

The location is fabulous and it is as picturesque as you can get. We will definitely return.

Location perfect for touring the area and peaceful spot by the river. Property was well equipped with everything you need.

Overall property was good but the seating in lounge wasn’t that comfortable to relax in after a busy day out, for us. The outside area/garden was a little unkept, grass not cut/long. Windows needed cleaning.

Schönes kleines Cottage in einer tollen Umgebung. Als Ausgangspunkt um den Ring of Kerry zu erkunden, einfach klasse. Es war alles da, um sich wohl zu fühlen.

Joys river lodge is an absolute gem!The lodge is nestled on the river Laune with stunning views and the garden leads up to the riverbank!The lodge itself is very well laid out ,with everything you would expect from someone who has put their heart and soul into making this property a magical place to stay at any time of the year!It’s within walking distance of killorglin !The bedrooms are lovely and fab bathroom too!The open plan kitchen /living room is perfect and everything you could possibly need is here!The stove is a fabulous addition and adds to the character and charm of the lodge!had it lighting on both the nights we stayed! The location is lovely and the house is perfect

Amazing setting. Very comfortable beds. House really well equipped. Warm welcome with tea, milk, cheese and crackers. Short stroll to the centre of town. Happy days!

Everything that we were after in a centralised place to stay for our time discovering Kerry, Dingle and Cork was there. Lovely being near the waters edge too.

All was great, nothing to dislike.

We loved everything. The attention to detail was absolutely spot on. It was such a pleasant surprise. So picturesque even in the rain. This is a true gem and we will be returning with our next visit to Killorglin.

This house is gorgeous, its newly renovated Irish cottage, and has a lovely atmosphere and feel. It’s right on the river and the views are fabulous. Everywhere in Kilorglin is within walking distance, but it’s still very quiet. It’s so clean and has loads of lovely homely touches, like hot drinks ingredients, beer, milk, cheese on arrival. The bedrooms are lovely, and so is the bathroom.

Spotlessly clean and a lovely, peaceful location. Only 25 mins from Killarney national park. Only a 5 min walk from all the grocery stores in town.

Electric gates were broken when we arrived. The furniture was ornamental, looked great but not very comfortable to sit on to watch a movie in the evening. No wood or coal left to light the lovely stove.

The house was beautifully decorated and in a stunning location. Killorglin is a beautiful town and only a short drive to Killarney. The house was perfect and was excellent value for money. Elodie was lovely to deal with and very accommodating. The house is stunning and exactly as we expected it. We got a message prior with every detail necessary and any questions asked were answered efficiently.

The only thing we found was that the house got cold very fast, easily sorted by boosting the heating but everything else was perfect.

The property and location are beautiful and very peaceful. We had everything provided that we needed and the owner has thought of everything. All the personal touches were superb. Tastefully decorated and clean throughout. There are good cooking and washing facilities. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are booking again to come back here soon. A very cosy and comfortable place and we are excited about our next holiday here.

There is nothing to dislike about this property.

A truly delightful standalone cottage on the riverbank that combines privacy and quiet nights in comfortable beds, with close proximity to Killorglin village amenities where there are choices of wonderful Irish pubs filled with live music and fabulous food. The well-appointed, warm cottage provides a balance between old and new with its winsome fabrics and old world fittings, carefully labelled toiletries and treat jars, and local artworks. We appreciated the extras including foody treats, a stack of bathroom towels, a laundry room, and cooking condiments. Day trips to mountain, sea and lake walks are easily accessible all over Co. Kerry, and there are a number of nice local walks without driving anywhere. The host is very responsive; we cannot recommend this special place highly enough.

This home was very well set up with everything we could possibly need. The location was close to the town but was very quiet.

We got a little confused trying to find the address, but got there in the end.

Eine sehr gut ausgestattete, moderne und komfortable Wohnung mit großem schönen Garten direkt am Fluss mit schönem Blick auf die Wiesen und freie Natur. Dennoch ist der schöne Ort sehr schnell zu Fuß zu erreichen.

We had a really lovely stay at Joy's River Lodge. The house was very clean and comfortable. It's in walking distance to the town and 30 mins from Kilarney. Perfect place for us to stay. Elodie was very helpful.

Heel mooi interieur, volledig uitgeruste keuken, perfect werkende oven. Basis ingrediënten zoals peper/zout/suiker/koffie/thee/olijfolie…waren zelfs aanwezig. Prachtig uitzicht aan de brug. Leuk dat er een wasmachine én droogkast is want op regenachtige dagen is het anders slecht droog te krijgen.

De bedden waren voor mij persoonlijk té hard. Binnen hadden we dikwijls last van de hoge vochtigheidsgraad. Als we de verwarming aanzetten beterde dat wel maar dan werd het gauw té warm.

Such a gem of a find ,explore kerry in a beautiful comfortable, surroundings would highly recommend

Didn’t stay long enough

Great spot to visit ring of Kerry and dingle. Nice river setting. Nice stove. Very relaxing inside. When others are t around the outside is nice in walking distance to town.

The home is surrounded by parks. Lots of people in these parks some playing loud music during the day. Also right next to one side of the yard people sit by the river fish and talk all hours of the day. Also a septic smell at front door due to current hot conditions we were told.

Well located in a quiet street with amazing river bridge view. Convenient to go to both Kerry Cliffs and other sightseeing places

Beautiful cosy house in an amazing location. We stayed here while attending a wedding in Kilorglin. Location was perfect only 400m from the town. We had a newborn baby, a dog and my parents with us and the house was ideal for this group size. We felt at home. The house is beautifully renovated and spotlessly clean. The living space is so cosy, we lit the stove by night and it gave off great heat. Puzzles and games in the living room are a lovely touch. The view from the home is the highlight! Super accommodating host, very easy to deal with and check in/out was seamless.
