I liked how perfect it was for one person- had everything you needed

The dogs at the next door property were barking well into the night- which made it difficult to sleep- but nothing the guest house can do!

We always enjoy staying at Finch & Fern. The establishment offers everything we need for a comfortable self-catering overnight stay. The hosts are friendly and welcoming, the undercover parking and good security provide peace of mind, and the unit is comfortable, well equipped, and beautifully maintained. We thoroughly enjoy our stays here and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

The host was extremely friendly and accommodating! This is a very reasonably priced accommodation that is comfortable and ideal for a one or two-night stay in Bloemfontein. The room is spacious with a private sitting room and kitchenette. The owner accommodated us on very short notice in the evening and welcomed our fur-baby as well. She had heated the room before our arrival, and it felt so very inviting and welcoming when we arrived in the cold of the night into this warm, spacious room.

The owner is fully aware that the facility needs an upgrade and has begun the process. Therefore, the room and its facilities need renovation and a modern facelift.

The shower was fantastic as well as the comfy, warm bed.

We stay at Finch & Fern regularly and always look forward to returning. Once again, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Check-in was, as always, hassle-free, and we were pleased with our room. We had booked Room 1 though, but were allocated Room 2 instead, which was perfectly comfortable. The establishment is situated in a quiet and safe environment, with the added convenience of undercover parking. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped with a kitchenette offering everything one needs for an overnight stay. The Smart TV with streaming options was highly appreciated again, the bed was very comfortable, and there was more than enough bedding for the cold winter night. The electric blanket was especially appreciated. The bathroom was practical, and generously sized. We also particularly enjoyed the small private courtyard, which provided additional privacy and a peaceful space to relax. Security is excellent, and one feels safe and at ease throughout the stay.

The only minor downside was that the guests in the adjacent room were unfortunately not very considerate of others. Phone conversations, opening and closing of unit and car doors, and talking and laughing at around 01:30 disturbed the peace. We mention this only for the sake of balance, as it is not intended as a negative reflection on the establishment itself. We genuinely enjoy staying at Finch & Fern and will certainly return again. We can recommend this guesthouse without reservation to anyone looking for comfortable, well-appointed accommodation in a safe and peaceful setting.

Check-in was hassle-free and quick. The hosts, Tiaan and Mariaan, were exceptionally friendly and always willing to assist. When we needed help, they arranged it promptly and efficiently. Our room was a delight – spacious, comfortable, and equipped with all the amenities we required for a self-catering stay. The bathroom was practical and well-appointed, providing everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, and we stayed warm and cosy despite a very cold night. The electric blanket was most appreciated. Parking was conveniently located directly in front of our unit and was undercover – a definite bonus. We also appreciated having our own private entrance and parking area. Security was excellent, providing peace of mind throughout our stay. The guesthouse is situated in a quiet, safe neighbourhood and is conveniently close to shops, the hospital, and the N1 highway. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and always return. We highly recommend this guesthouse to fellow travellers.

There were hairs all over the room like it wasn't clean. Parking was not great at all.

No power after traveling for hours and wanting to wind down with a cup of tea and watching TV. Should guesthouses not be equipped with back up?

Looked exactly like the pictures. Cleaning lady was incredibly sweet.

Wifi dips quite often.

The host communicates and is available to assist. We had no water the last day but there was back up. The location is good and close to shops.

I was traveling for work and the wifi signal was not very good, but the host did communicate. This also affects the TV as it is a smart TV. The bed in the seating are was not steady and the couch was very stained. But the overall experience of the place was not bad at all, it was clean just the couch. It would have been nice to have a full length mirror as well

Location in quiet suburb near shops. It is pet friendly. The hostess was friendly and accommodating when we reported a problem with the fan.

The unit not userfriendly. Very cramped and basics not up to standard. We chose the accommodation after reading the reviews. The reviews now does not make sense as we were very dissapointed in our accommodation.

Everything in the room was top notch, I liked it and would love to visit the place again.

It would have been better if there was a poster at the gate and the outside lights were not there which made the place scary especially for people who are scared of darkness. I wish you could fix that.

It was a stop over point. We were tired and arrived late in the afternoon but everything was neat and clean. The host Tiaan was very accommodating with me asking if I could move my car uber cover due to the hail storm.

There could have been more windows in the room....even though a fan is provided, not much air flowing through. Would be nice if a door could be left open if it had a security gate.

Wonderfully large accommodation set is a super easy location just off the N1!! Hosts so friendly and helpful. Filled with all the amenities needed, plus was dog friendly for our 3 furries that couldn't fly as they normally do. All amenities needed and in a great location for restaurants or like we did - Mr Delivery. Beds comfy and kitchen equipped with all you need for a short overnight or a longer stay. Great having covered parking that we managed to fit 2 cars in as well behind secure gates. Thanks for having us!!

What a lovely stay! It was really easy to check in and all of the facilities were great quality. Our host was friendly and very helpful. Communication was straightforward and clear.

The owner made contact to assist us beforehand. He was not on the premises, but gave clear instructions of how to obtain the key and how to enter the property. I didn't even have to contact him.
