Adventure Cabin Retreat 'The CabAnne' No Shower

The most practical and well-planned little cabin! It was absolutely perfect for our trip to Funtasia and Emerald Park. The host, Elaine, was so friendly and welcoming, and the kids absolutely loved having the chickens running around. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend it!

While reading the other reviews I thought this place was going to be a gem, but it wasn't. The beds dont really seem to be beds, more like camp beds or something. They were extremely uncomfortable and the matress tipped towards the edge. A good sleep was out of the question as the place made us feel all very itchy. The toilet was black on the inside too, which we noticed on arrival and it made us think that the place hadn't been cleaned very well. To get to the front door of this "shed" we had to mind our steps as the path is over planks of wood. I fell once and my partner tripped over these planks. The owner is lovely so no fault to her but alot could be done with this little place to make it more habitable and cosy. The tv was really tiny and hard to watch (we wanted to relax after a full day at the zoo) Our daughter loved the animals but come 5am the rooster started crowing so it wasn't exactly peaceful or quiet. Out of all the places that we've stayed in we are happy to say we won't be back.

Elaine was lovely and very accommodating. The location of the accommodation was perfect with a friendly village nearby. We really enjoyed our stay.

The cabin had everything we needed and very cleverly organised. Beautiful location.

The immediate outside of the cabin was disappointing especially the seating area - it was very grubby and needs a revamp. We had glorious weather but couldn't sit outside because the seats were dirty. Also, not sufficient towels provided - we had one tiny hand towel between the 3 of us.

L'endroit est au milieu d'un jardin familial avec des poules autour, mais avec le confort, sauf le lavabo minuscule qui avait seulement un seul petit linge et le manque de douche annoncé. C'est calme, propre, mais assez petit pour deux personnes.

Everything the host is great the place is clean and got all you need also parking! Very comfortable bed and living area

The property was very clean and warm. My children really enjoyed the stay, especially playing with the chickens. Elaine was very helpful and welcoming throughout.

Nous avons passé notre 1ère nuit en Irlande dans la "CabAnne"! L'environnement est très calme et bucolique, super pour débuter notre séjour avec une touche d'originalité. La CabAnne est bien équipée, et propre. Les propriétaires sont discrets et sympathiques. Nous avons été satisfaits de notre nuit là-bas.

The CabAnne is so lovely, cosey and perfectly laid out. It had everything we needed for a short stay and my son absolutely loved the chickens! We’ll definitely be staying again. Elaine even left some chocolates for my son for our Easter Sunday arrival. Thanks so much Elaine for a fab stay!

Mi è piaciuta molto la sistemazione, curata in ogni dettaglio. C'erano veramente tante cose carine e adatte. La proprietaria lascia persino macchinetta del caffè e cialde a disposizione e, per chi volesse, uova fresche di produzione delle sue galline. Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo

Il fatto che non ci sia una doccia è una peccato e il lavandino è piccolissimo per poterci stare nel bagnetto.

В целом очень даже хорошо. В таком маленьком домике, так удобно всё расположено. Есть все необходимое, душ летний. Отсутствие душа в домике немного напрягает, но за такую цену это идеальный вариант проживания. Много всего для детей!

Byliśmy w domku około godziny 20.00 , a odjeżdżaliśmy z samego rana o 7.30. Nie zdążyliśmy poznać właścicielki osobiście, ale kontakt z nią po zabukowaniu nocy był bez zarzutu. Szczegóły dojazdu do domku świetnie opisane. Domek miły i przytulny. Był wyposażony w gry co dla rodziny z dziećmi jest dużym atutem. W szafce były jajka, cukierki, ekspres do kawy i kapsułki. Dzieciom podobało się to , że kogut piał od samego rana 😉

Szkoda, że nie ma prysznica o czym oczywiście wiedzieliśmy. Ale ze względu na jego brak dłuższy pobyt niż noc niestety nie bardzo.

Bed a little hard but could be easy fix with a mattress topper.

Ambiente tranquillo e carino. La casetta è davvero piccina ma per una notte può andar bene. Di più assolutamente no. Mi è piaciuto molto che per accedere alla casa bisogna prima passare nel pollaio. Proprietaria molto gentile e cordiale.

L' appartamento all arrivo non era riscaldato... poco male... abbiamo provveduto subito e nel giro di poco si è riscaldato. Noi eravamo in 4 (2 adulti e 2 bambini) ed i letti erano preparati per 3. Potevamo chiedere alla proprietaria l aggiunta almeno di un cuscino in più ma non abbiamo voluto disturbare e per una notte cè la siamo fatta andar bene cosi. Come già sapevamo non era presente la doccia ma nemmeno l acqua calda dal mini lavandino in bagno. Troppo piccolo davvero. A stento ci si riusciva a lavarsi le mani con acqua ghiacciata. Presenza di moltissime ragnatele, sia fuori che dentro la casa. Dietro al wc c era una colonia di ragnetti. Presenza di una doccia esterna con tanti bagnoschiuma abbandonati lì a se stessi. In conclusione se fosse un pochino più curato potrebbe essere un ottima sistemazione solo per una notte.

The little cabin was great! Very quiet, private and dark at night. Things were well thought out in the small space. Most everything we needed was there.

The only thing missing was a sharp knife! Would have been helpful for cutting bread and sandwich stuff!

A great little place. Elaine was friendly and welcoming, giving us helpful advice before and during our stay. The cabin is immaculate and the chickens, ducks, cats and Willow the dog made our weekend!

Nice little house at a farm. One living room and one small bedroom. Tiny desk was also available. One parking space too.

There are animals outside, be aware.

Alles gut durchdacht und gemütlich. Alles wie beschrieben vorhanden. Die Betten sehr bequem, die Einrichtung ist neu und die Unterkunft ist sauber. Man hat sich willkommen gefühlt.

Une hôte absolument charmante, qui est venue nous rendre une petite visite de courtoisie très agréable.

La rusticité de l'hébergement, mais cela fait parti du charme.

Cabina piccola ma molto ben organizzata e accogliente, fornita di tutto. Disponibile caffè e uova di produzione propria per la colazione. Spazio esterno molto carino e apprezzato dai ns figli. Host molto accogliente Posizione comoda anche per l'aeroporto. Ci piacerebbe tornare!

Gute Lage in der Nähe des Flughafens Dublin. Auf dem Gelände gibt es zahlreiche Tiere zu entdecken: Hühner, Enten, Katzen und sogar ein ganzer Busch voller Schmetterlinge (Mitte August). In der früh - bei Sonnenaufgang hat der Hahn gekräht.

Fabulous little cabin. Whoever designed it deserves praise. All the accessories are smartly and meticulously arranged in the limited space. A family of four could sleep there with no problem. The location is excellent, just 10 minutes from Ashbourne.

Elaine was amazing with details about location, direction keys, etc. before arrival. Spotlessly clean, and The CabAnne does exactly what it says and is just beautiful. The location and views are amazing, and it was great for our overnight trip to Funtasia and Emerald Park. Highly recommended.

🧡 Family-focused with a fondness for feathered friends! The space is tidy, welcoming, and offers excellent bang for your buck. Elaine is very helpful and accomodating.

Everything else was great, but a small suggestion: the bushes near the gate could use a trim. They make it tough to squeeze through—especially when juggling luggage or bags—and the gate doesn’t open very wide. I actually scratched myself on one of the branches, though I’ll chalk that up to my own clumsiness. A little pruning would make arrivals (and departures) much smoother.

This place was like a dream for our 2 year old (and for us) Fantastic communication regarding check in. The Cabin is awesome - really cute and small just as described! And our little one loved that he got out of having to have a shower! Elaine was so helpful during our stay and was so lovely to talk to! Thank you!

All was perfect. Owner wasnt at home on arrival, but key was left in key box. Cabin small but very cozy and have all you need for your stay, great location just 10 min drive to Emerald park, WatwerZone. Lots thing to do with kids around. Host is is very friendly and helpful, they have some hens and ducks, so kids was more then happy to feed it and collect eggs in morning. Would recommend and will come back.

Exactly as described. Perfect for a one night getaway for Emerald Park. Lovely quiet location, kids loved the chickens and ducks. Our host Elaine was so responsive and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Had a lovley 2 day stay at the Cabane. Very comfy cabin and beds- all the things you need for making tea/coffee snacks etc and fridge. Nice TV with tonnes of channels/streaming sites and a great gás barbeque (which I used on both days) Tranquil área outside cabin to relax amoungst the nature and house ducks and chickens. Host Elaine was super helpful and freindly and always around if needed to help with any queries. Certainly plan to stay here again in the future 10/10 for comfort and value for money.

- it is rather small, but it is functional. - most bothering was the pump noise when water was running in the bathroom. It was so loud that we avoided using bathroom during the night, in fear of waking up others.

Such a cute little cabin with all necessary amenities. In a beautiful setting, with super friendly hosts. We would love to come back here again, my son loved the chickens so much.

It was amazing to wake up in nature. Everything is taking cared of to the smallest details. Great communication lovely stay.

Fantastic place right in the middle of the countryside. Although we spent two night in the wintertime, the cabin exceeded our expectations as it was unusually tidy, comfortable, spacious, modern and looked brand new. All necessary items were inside , some cutlery, tea or coffee, plates. Our little one was so curious to see so many animals outside and play with them. Roaming chickens, ducks, cows were giving us suspicious staresand made us laugh. The owner visited us and helped us solve some airline buggage doubts. Elaine also made sure that we had everything to make our stay both happy and memorable. We were also allowed to make a grill using her own stuff;) The area must be for sure a paradise during summetime, with plenty of sightseeing/trekking/dining/walking opportunities around in the county. Hope to visit and stay once agan in the future this magnificent piece of glorious Heaven On Earth;) Thanks so much for Your amazing hospitality! Cheers and regards Artie, Agnes and little Katy.

There is nothing to be disliked. Just remember before Your arrival that You have no shower options, which might be unbelievable for some guests, but no for us - adventurous backpackers;)

Location as it was rural and so peaceful. Chickens and ducks on site which my little one loved. Cabin itself was beautiful and equipped with tv, wifi, books and toys for kids.

No shower was only thing that would restrict us staying longer.

Very clean and tidy place with plenty of fresh air. Late booking but very cheap and good.

No shower is a pity but that is made very clear in advance so can’t complain!

The room was exactly as advertised, it had no shower. Did have toilet and vanity. Was warm and comfortable. Well priced for the area.

We had a wonderful time in The CabAnne, we love everything single part of the house, the space design is just so lovely and clever. We enjoyed the time staying with the farm animals very much. Would definitely recommend to everyone.
