Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Good location for what we wanted. Breakfast was tasty. Staff were friendly. The room was lovely and spacious with water and tea etc included and nice toiletries.
Found it difficult to find staff at breakfast and check in times. The room opened onto the beer garden so was a bit overlooked so we had to keep the curtains closed which made it a bit dark at times.
Great price and convenience for work. Great walking distance to food in area.
First class barn conversion, retaining original features. Staff excellent, accommodation very comfortable, pub atmosphere adds to the great experience.
Not sure
Lacked attention to detail
Very well situated rooms modern and clean drinks were spot on
Nothing really that comes to mind
Cramped and very hot rooms
Could not sleep due to the heat in May
Nice courtyard garden 🪴 Well equipped rooms Clean and tidy
Nice location . Good seating area outside. Food good. Our one problem we were put in the outside room called the Cowshed . ( rooms all have names relating to cows) The room was very clean but as a woman I found they only had a man shower where the water drops on you . Most woman need the attachment which should always be considered. Also there were no shelves in the bathroom to put anything on .I did not feel comfortable. Other than that everything was ok.
Nicely decorated room.
Bath could have been cleaner and shower hardly worked.
Ideal location
Nothing
Het prachtige, authentieke hotel.
Wij zouden de glaswand van de douche dichtmaken voor meer privacy tijdens douchen.
Very nice property very nice hosts would recommend
Was very nice Pro well looked after
Hotel/pub jus had a facelift and was decorated really nicely. We stayed overnight because we were at a wedding which started at 12 o'clock. We knew we couldn't check in as too early but we asked if we could change in the bathroom and let them know we would be back late. They were kind enough to let us check in and use our room as it was the first one cleaned (luckily). Really helpful and gave us information about taxis. Would recommend as staff were excellent.
our room was a bit small
Lovely food, comfy bed and friendly staff. Had everything we needed for our short stay passing through the area.
The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Shower was lovely.
There were 2 bottles of sparkling water in would have preferred one sparkling one still and the bathroom didn't shut properly so you had to lock it for it to stay closed.
Good food and great staff.
Sehr schön renoviertes Zimmer.
Der Lärm, da es neben der Autobahn liegt.
Location
Breakfast on a Saturday morning finished at 10 … bit early
The property is tastefully decorated, room are amazing and bathrooms excellent. Staff were very helpful and couldn’t do enough for you
Nothing
Everything - from helpful staff to amazing facilities
Nothing
It’s well kept, clean, cozy and the dinning facilities on the sight are great.
Nothing, it’s genuinely an all around great place.
nice clean and spacious room and very tasty food from the menu
prices for drinks and food a little high, but I guess that’s the norm for the area.
Decor was exceptional and for less than the horrible travel lodge across the road. Food was beautiful
Very hot. Needed a bigger fan but was ok
Staff were really friendly and happy to help. Loved the name of the room and the flying cow on the bathroom wall made me laugh. Breakfast was good, scrambled eggs were delicious. Receptionist was apologetic when I had mentioned the heat of the room and I understood the reason why only a fan was available.
Found a cleansing pad behind the bin in the bathroom from the previous person staying in that room I assume. Pillows were a bit lumpy for me. I like big fluffy pillows, however I didn't ask if there were alternatives. I was tired and eventually fell asleep. Fan in the room to cool it down was fine but maybe could have been a bit bigger/powerful. Unfortunately, evening meal options were limited at the time of my visit.
A very beautiful historic building, lovingly preserved. A lovely comfortable and stylish bedroom. Absolutely great staff, friendly, helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
We liked everything.
Very comfortable
Evening meal menu choice was restricted due to lunch time demand. I understand the need for minimising waste but as a guest who was staying for 3 nights it might be worth offering evening meal choices at breakfast for guests on longer stays so that those that are spending more time and money at the inn are prioritised. this is particularly relevant at weekends when sudden good weather may mean a very high lunchtime demand
Welcoming and helpful staff. Comfortable bed, room with remodeled bathroom with roomy shower. Easy access of highway. Quiet, pleasant neighborhood. Didn’t take advantage of restaurant but outside seating was attractive. Easy parking.
Better lighting in room would have been appreciated.
Stayed at The Bull Inn for the second time really lovely from the room to the food the staff were excellent as well will stay there again when visiting Mildenhall five stars all the way to them
Very relaxing, Staff very friendly & Excellent service.
Nothing
The room was absolutely stunning, a great night sleep and a gorgeous breakfast in the morning.
Lovely old coaching inn, welcoming staff, lovely and clean, highly recommend,
The breakfast was amazing. The room, bath and bed were stunning, the location and building were fabulous.Really wanted to tell the manager how much we enjoyed watching the beautiful pigeons whilst sitting in the garden, sad we didn't get to say Thankyou and goodbye.
An idiots guide to regulate the shower temperature as it was way too hot to use, also one for the espresso machine. Some instant coffees too as the espresso coffee was way too strong once we were able to use the machine.
Lovely historic pub inn.
booked breakfast but they had a 'kitchen emergency' so couldn't do hot breakfasts. Recommend having a mini-fridge in the room.
Breakfast was very nice
The shower was in the bath and my poor old knees struggled to get in!
What a gem! Honestly, I am so glad I booked this lovely pub for a two night stay, wish it had been longer! From the moment I booked the service was impeccable; suggesting I opt for a twin room once they knew I was staying with my daughter, friendly and knowledgeable staff, wonderful food in the evening, and a fantastic breakfast. The room was large, and we stayed in a classic room, so I was expecting smaller, and very comfortable, with a lovely big shower room, the whole room was immaculately clean. A perfect location for a trip to the local centre parks spa, we will definitely be back to stay again, can't praise this lovely place enough!
Nothing! Yes there is some road noise, but to be expected with the convenience of location, and there is secondary glazing, road did not disturb us.
The cooked breakfast was very tasty. Cameron is an excellent chef and cooked a very good pub evening meal for us.
Maybe a few more breakfast pastries.
The breakfast was lovely. Loved the names of the rooms. The bed was really comfy and the double shower was so roomy. For an old building - "The Bull Inn" had been respectfully restored with all the different stairs and creaky floorboards adding to its charm.
Not so much a dislike but a comment - it was very quiet and very few guests in the bar/restaurant but they may have been hiding in their rooms! Everything else was lovely. I'm sure it will get busier as the season progresses.
This has been one of my best stays in suffolk. From the start of our stay to our departure The staff were very friendly. The service from reception to the bar staff were outstanding. Had a bar snack in the afternoon which was delicious. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. Can highly recommend this for a base to tour suffolk..The Bull Inn is a place that I would certainly come back to.
Very nice place .convenient for races
Road noise
Clearly a lot of effort and investment goes into making this place welcoming and comfortable.
Breakfast was disappointing
Food was good
Limited menu Run out of items on breakfast and evening menu meaning we had to choose the same thing we had on day 1 on day 4
I stayed the hotel with my son to visit RAF base for plane spotting. location was good for that and stuff were nice, pub was nice, room was comfortable and big for the price. I liked that bath room was bigger than I expected.
Everything. Location was great for what we were in town for. Rooms were unique and had character. Bathroom shower was huge. Restaurant and bar was great
Since the place is older, some floors have a slant to it, whether walking down the hall or in the room.
Plenty of parking. Check in was quick and easy (having registered my info online) Friendly staff. Very clean, comfortable, well appointed room. I just managed to catch the restaurant, before the kitchen closed. A couple of items, were not available. But I did find something suitable. Easy check out.
Nothing for me.
Good location, good food, reasonable prices
Pillows were uncomfortable
It is a nice place that is close to where I need to be. The food is pretty good.
The remodel a few years ago is showing some age. The light fixture in my room was so dim that all of the lamps were needed. The restaurant was out of several items a few nights.
Great Breakfast and perfect quiet location
Nothing, all good
Gorgeous old pub, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Lovely welcome from the host. Our room was spacious with high ceilings and a comfy period looking bed with good quality bed linen. The room had tasteful decor and felt grand. Room was very clean and good amenities including smart tv. Our meal was very good and breakfast had good quality ingredients.. well presented. Good pub food. Would definitely recommend. Rubber duck in the bathroom was a fun addition.
Can't think of anything. This is a charming place to stay
Very comfortable bed, extremely clean and convenient location and parking.
The attitude of some of the staff was disappointing, almost 40% of the main courses on the dinner menu were unavailable. The food was average. Whilst the age of the premises is unavoidable, the route to the bedroom involved multiple steps at different levels and would be very difficult for guests with any reduced mobility. Also the access to the bathroom involved further steps which could be a problem st night.
Characterful Olde English Inn, helpful staff. Rooms were well decorated and clean. Comfortable bed. Layout of room a bit quirky e.g. tea making tray opposite side of room to bin due to space constraints (smaller receptable needed for tea bags etc.). Restaurant food is typical pub food rather than gourmet but I had an excellent and very well-cooked sirloin steak and fries and rest of group enjoyed their food. Nice wine list. Breakfast was excellent.
I didn't like a 6 foot bed with a 5 foot bed duvet in the cover. Would have liked a lidded bin for wipes and sanitary towels in the bathroom and not the open bin in the bedroom. A grab rail in shower really ought to be a must these days. It's very close to the A11 dual carriageway so hardly quiet but would suit a business traveller needing a comfortable room for the night.
Great location and food
The bar closed too early
Really enjoyed our stay, very friendly staff and a quirky and interesting building - it's got character and so it isn't a standard "business box" room which made it even more enjoyable!
Would have to attempt to be overly picky to write something here!
Very cosy inn and great atmosphere
Nothing
The bedroom was very comfortable. The staff very friendly.
Breakfast was okay.
Great ambience.
A lift.
Lovely property in a great location, the room was spacious and beautifully decorated. Would recommend the bill in to stay.
Per the heading - very good all round and will stay there again
Staff were all very friendly and helped us immediately with an query we had. So quiet considering its right next to a main road. Beautiful decor and atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and stay again!
Fantastic Hotel and a good location. Food was good for the price and staff courteous and helpful
Great room Good bar Nice breakfast
Dinner was a bit hit and miss
Lovely old pub with lots of character.. lovely room with very comfy mattress. Nice toiletries supplied.
Nothing
Friendly staff. Great room with great toiletries and excellent shower and bathroom. Stylish and so comfortable
Nothing
Friendly welcoming
Really efficient and helpful staff. Sorry, didn't catch his name but the south african guy was really helpful and customer focused.
Really nice place to stay with friendly staff, the room was nice and spacious with a large bathroom. Plenty of parking and a nice riverside walk nearby. Good food, we ate in the restaurant one night, and the breakfasts were lovely. The bar area was very welcoming and a nice place to enjoy food and drink. Lovely outside areas with string lights and a nice courtyard.
Unfortunately, the room was a bit on the cold side, the radiator was barely warm and the mattress was a bit on the hard side for us. Strangely the toiletries for the bath and shower were fixed to the wall at the shower end of the bath, so if you were taking a bath you couldn't reach any of them, they need moving to the middle or just have free standing mini size products! We did ask for more teabags for the room, via reception which we didn't get.
Lovely atmosphere, our room was incredibly comfortable and very clean. Every single detail was thought of in the room, we loved the decor. We had a luxurious and relaxing experience, exactly what we needed! The food was delicious with quality ingredients. We will be back!
Fish pie was excellent, warm and friendly welcome, good tea and coffee in room, nice hot shower.
Convenient location, very attractive old building nicely decorated and with fab bovine themed room names! Great food too.
Nothing.
Good options for breakfast. You can help yourself to a selection of cereals, teas, coffee before your hot food arrives. Nice cooked breakfast as well as healthier options available.
The staff were very accommodating and provided excellent service. We didn't arrive until late in the evening and the manager had no problems waiting for us to arrive. He went the extra mile. The decor was amazing and very clean.
My partner wanted more than one pillow unfortunately they had no spare ones available.
Hotel was chosen because of location/proximity to Center Parcs. Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat there. Enioyed a drink in the pretty courtyard.
We knew the room was a compact double but it was much smaller than expected. Bed was pushed against a wall so difficult for one of us to get in and out. Room was very hot but couldn't open the window due to road noise from the A11 which was constant.
Poor selection, poor management and service
Service, location and food
I loved the charm of the old building and how the renovations improved the property without losing the old charm. The staff was magnificent. So helpful and kind.
The pillows were not very soft.
