Hotel Lha-yul nearby MG Road Gangtok

We booked Family room with Mountain view and it was value for money. Room and washroom was spacious and clean. Room has a beautiful mountain view. Location is not very far away from MG Marg, a two minutes drive in taxi or 10 to 15 minutes by walk. Definitely recommended for the stay.

The hotel is situated around 2kms away from MG Road. The place is very peaceful and you can enjoy your self moment here. Offers a decent view from the room as well.

The table fan that they provided in the room was old and not working properly. On request to provide an extra fan, they charge extra amount of Rs. 300 per day for providing a table fan. Bedsheets and pillow cover are not changed upon room cleaning.

Misleading marketing of the location near MG marg, location wasn’t good, climb a steep set of stairs to access the room from main road, restaurant / food facilities awful, poorly managed by owner, rooms sparsely provided with toiletries, tea/coffee facilities. Even the car vendor partner provided by the hotel turned to be a scam, making money by charging higher rate and sub contracting to another vendor - who doesn’t take responsibility.

Everything starting from room cleanliness to room service was on point. Mr. Manish(owner) was too polite and helpful at all times and took the responsibility for our travel to local view points and Nathula. Mr. Dipendra was also available 24hrs whenever we needed anything. If swimming is renovated it would be one of the best hotels in gangtok to stay at.

I am highly disappointed with my stay at this property. The hotel advertises itself as a 4-star category, but the amenities and service barely meet 2-star standards. ​We booked a triple room, but it was equipped with only a single queen-size bed (which is meant for two people). Fitting three adults comfortably was impossible. Furthermore, basic amenities like complimentary tea/coffee packets and sealed mineral water bottles—which are standard even in budget 3-star hotels—were completely missing. ​Cons: ​Severe Accessibility Issues: To access the hotel, you have to walk down nearly 40 steps via a staircase. There is no proper ramp or elevator access for this, making it incredibly difficult and unsafe for elderly guests or anyone with heavy luggage. ​Dining: The onsite restaurant has a very limited food menu with almost no options. ​Misleading Advertising: Calling this a 4-star property is a massive stretch and feels like a scam to guests who pay expecting premium comfort. ​It was a very frustrating and uncomfortable experience. I would not recommend this place if you are traveling in a group or with family.

Liked the service especially how Deepankar bhai made sure to help us in every way possible. Manish ji also were very sweet and was a good guide to us. The main thing which i liked was the view from the room. Mountain view room was worth it. Accessibility to MG Marg was also a good point.

The room size is really good. Room had all the basic facilities including mini refrigerator. The Room I had booked was no outside view. You, are just confined to your room. If you book a mountain view room, it is worth paying.

Though the location is shown very near to MG Market, it takes 20-25 minutes walk. It is not easy due to steep hight. The approch of the hotel is again an issue. It is not visible from the road. You have to down using stairs and many steps. Initially it does not give a good feeling.However, if you take into account the money paid for the stay, it os definetly a value for money. Finding a place in such a low price in the season is not easy.

Once it was 4 star status.

Most of the rooms are underground. Once it was the category of 4 ⭐,but it seems now like king without a kingdom.No restaurants,no modern amenities. Too far from MG Marg,it always needs car service. .

Room is spacious and big, it is a newly built property, view from the room is also good. asthetic and cleanness of the is up to mark. staff is also polite and helpful. price is not much for the amount of space provided.

I travelled during slightly off season period, support staff was very limited so restaurant was not functional, so all meals were to be order from outside. Property is about 1.5 km from MG marg, a steep climb, but you can find share taxi, but still a hassle. Property is not at all assessable as you have to comedown long stairs. I found slight mouldy smell in the washroom. No GST bill was provided at checkout. I would expect a better service if i am paying.

Worst hotel, non sense staff, asking for money in their personal account, stupid staff ....lacks hospitality...we reached in superb cold weather and my wife was shivering out of cold...instead of welcoming the stsff started giving us lectures on why we should pay money on their personal account rather than online....poor hotel non sense staffs worst hotel i ever been....highly urecommended

It would be helpful if the hotel could assist with transporting luggage to the parking area, which is two floors above the reception. The steep steps made the process quite exhausting

Cleanness

The hotel was beautiful, with clean and comfortable rooms. It was even better than expected. The price was terrific.I would definitely stay there again.

We were fairly disappointed overall, so let me get the good parts out first. • The junior staff is quite helpful and eager to please. They tried their best. When we requested, they cleaned our room thoroughly and changed our sheets, more on this below. • The room was spacious • Bathroom was functional • There was a decent view from our room

Now the reasons why we decided to cut short our stay - originally planned for 4 nights - to just one, and move to a different hotel: 1. The entrance: Everyone be warned - the hotel is egregeously under construction. See my picture for how the main entrance looks. The pictures on their booking profile are the baits. When we arrived after a day long drive to what looked like a construction site - we were immediately cheesed off. 2. The room: It was NOT clean. The glass windows looked like they hadn't been wiped forever, there were cobwebs in the corners, the sheets were ironed, but dirty. When they changed our sheets on our request,the new sheets were dirty too, just a tad less so. The pictures are of the dirty corners that were left AFTER the staff cleaned the room and changed he sheets at our insistance. The carpets in the room were so dusty and dirty that we had to ask them to remove them entirely. After they swept the room, it was evident from the debris collected that the room had not been cleaned at all for a while. Also most of the furniture looks quite worn out and made of cheap material, with wood chipping at the edges. 3. A senior staff (probably the manager) said to us that if you don't find this satisfactory, you are free to go to another hotel, we dont want any negative reviews. What way to treat your guest on a cold and rainy evening after a long day's travel. 4. The bathroom: Shampoo and body wash dispensers were far from the shower, with the toilet in the middle. See picture for reference. You'd have to be the stretchy dude from fantastic 4 to be able reach the shampoo/bodywash while showering. Also, no shower curtain, so no way to shower without making the entire bathroom wet. 5. Communication: There was no reception number you could call from an intercom. You would have to call an individual staff's number from your own phone for anything you needed. 6.

I had a nice stay at Lha-Yul Hotel in Gangtok.The night view of gangtok was splendid from the room .The hospitality was good and specially one of the staffs Dipankar Barman was very polite and helpful.I didn't find any problem while staying with my parents.We stayed at the triple room with mountain/city view.Would definitely stay here again in my next trip with friends. Would recommend if u are looking for spending some quality time in Gangtok.

Very good hotel at Gangtok. Good location not very far from MG Marg. Rooms are very clean. Good hygienic maintained. They also got Beautiful hill view from the view room. Recommend to stay here.

The property is nearby main mg road market. You just have to climb few flight of stairs and catch a cab to the market. The view from the room is also good.

The first night we ordered food, it was really bad. Mineral water is chargeable, there were bottles filled with filtered water in the room. There were no tea or coffee bags in the room. For a triple bedroom the bed as well as the room were really small.

It was close to MG mkt , however walking to MG Road would be difficult as the roads are very steep and not advisable unless you are a hiker Taxis are available at Rs.50-100..

The entry of Hotel is unusual and not clearly visible though on the road. Locating on Maps is difficult. Rooms are decent nothing beyond that .

Mountain view, spacious room, cleanliness

Description of room should be clear that room doesn't have a mountain view. In a hill station everyone likes to have a mountain view. After reaching hotel they show that you have booked "superior" double bedroom but it doesn't have a mountain view. Clearly mention "without mountain view" would have been apt for the same. If you give an option upfront, it would have been better.

The entire place is really well maintained and clean. The view from the room is equally good! It was a very comfortable stay for me & my family. And, the best thing to try from their menu is definitely the CHAI ❤️

Given the front entrance location building is still under construction, not having a lift is a negative given the stairs are very steep and way too many for people travelling with old parents. Hope this changes soon!

Regular Cleanliness lacking and not upto standard of charges. Location is not accessible with public transportation. Fooding options limited and exorbitant costs, long steep stairs from access, construction going on at site. View is not that great from rooms, no toiletries and tea coffee complimentary offered although kettle was provided. Rooms air locked and bit of allergic due to not thorough cleaning. Bedding was also not as clean as peer hotels offer. Swimming pool water dirty and non functional. Even toilet seats and wash basins not thoroughly clean. Rate of property at Booking.com was more that from Agoda by about 10% for same dates and pax, unfortunately it got cancelled after I booked from booking.com. No hotel invoice given

I would just mention about the food which is limited..Less variety of dishes..The entrance to the hotel should be done better ..not so impressive.
