Cinnamon & Sage Country Cabins

We werden hartelijk ontvangen door Matty en haar zoon. Hoewel we een huisje zonder bad hadden geboekt kregen we de mogelijkheid aangeboden om van huisje te switchen. Beide huisjes zijn ontzettend knus en smaakvol ingericht. Dullstroom is een heel rustig plaatsje en Matty kan je tips geven over waar je lekker kunt eten. We hebben een hele fijne overnachting gehad.

Short portion of the road is a strip of gravel, needs slower driving, but not too bad.

The cabin was very comfortable and quiet with all the necessary things required. Loved that the host went above and beyond to make it comfortable with plenty treats as well as necessities like coffee etc

Everything about the place was superb. The neatest, most beautiful cottage. Spotless, immaculately neat and everything was attention to detail. The bedding was fresh and luxurious. The cottage had everything that was required. The host, Mattie is such a beautiful soul. I had a wonderful weekend away.

The property was warm and cozy with great finishes and thoughtful touches. The host was amazing and a great communicator. The standard of cleanliness was impeccable! The host ensured that our unit had heating and an electric blanket for the cold nights and also suggested some cool places to visit in the town. The Cinnamon cottage was fully furnished with an extra touch of some games for extra entertainment. We had everything we needed for a weekend away from the city.

The hosts are very friendly and made us feel at home. The owner told us that Dullstroom can experience every season in one day and that sure did happen! We had Air conditioning for the hot weather and a cozy electric blanket for the cold weather. The cabins are so beautifully furnished. Hearing the train pass right outside our cabin made the kids holiday even more fun for them. The owners left a small basket of toys out them too...would definitely come back!

Everything...the hosts, the quiet, the garden, the lovely accommodation & the slow, gentle rumble of the train.

I liked the host very sweet and kind, the cabin was very clean and aesthetically pleasing loved everything about it, and enough blankets and all necessary kitchen utensils. I luked the fact that the host was accessible and very responsive. I really had a great stay.. Definitely coming back again.

The host is friendly, accommodating and helpful with a wonderful mannerism. She is professional, humble and thoughtful. The beautiful classic-touch, French-style decorated cottages form part of a property block, privately situated in town located on the picturesque and peaceful Highveld plateau. Each space provides stunning garden views with its colorful flowers in bloom. With this lush green setting outside, hidden gems welcome any bird lover. Overall, it is made sure that you feel welcome and at ease. Aside from the cottage being spotless, extra attention has gone into making sure that you have everything you need, making this stay feel like a home away from home with an added artistic feel to it. Just around the corner, one can find superb coffee, deli treats, gin pairings and lots more! Thank you for being a gracious host

There was nothing I did not like

All the little detail in the cabin. We were greeted friendly and received a Whatsapp with nice places to visit. There were little sweeties all over. All in all it was very pleasant

The dirt road towards the cabin wasn't too good. You cant reach it with a very low vehicle, but fortunately mine wasn't. At least it was a short gravel road

Wat een heerlijke plek bij ontzettend een vriendelijke gastvrouw en gastheer! Mooi ingericht, van alle gemakken voorzien inclusief elektrische dekens en airco tegen de kou. Allerlei kleine extra attenties in de huisjes (bloemen, iets lekkers) maakt dat je echt welkom voelt. Genoeg leuke eetgelegenheden in Dullstroom en het dorp geeft een prettig en veilig gevoel.

Er rijdt een trein vlak achter het huis langs, we waren gewaarschuwd door de gastvrouw maar toen hij om 06.00 uur langs kwam zaten we toch rechtop in bed.

I don’t know if it’s because I went in the coldest weekend of the year or because it’s a log cabin. It was excruciatingly freezing inside, we could enjoy the cozy lounge.

Due to the terrible roads in the town it is quite a mission to get to the cabin. Google maps takes you bundu bashing. Use only the host's directions!!

The cabin was very well equipped and comfortable with extra blankets for the cold evenings. The hosts were lovely and accommodating. Small things that show great attention to details like little flowers all over the cabin.

I didn’t love the train that came rumbling through at odd hours.

The décor in the rooms are beautiful and looks like a picture in a magazine. It is spacious, extremely well equipped, clean, everything you needed and more. The bedding, furniture, appliances etc. are in excellent condition. The design of the cabin was very well thought through. The location of the property is good and quiet. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The heating elements available at the cabin was excellent. It deserves 10 out of 10. Highly recommended

There is no signage with the name of the guesthouse on the outside

The Cabins are beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. They have everything you need and more. Loved the fresh flowers and extra treats provided. I can highly recommend the Cinnamon & Sage Cottages for couples or solo travellers wanting to get away from the city rush.

Little cold in the evenings. Needs a few more heaters. It wasn't a major issue, but a gate motor would be more secure and convenient, especially if it rained.

Matty and her son Julian are the kindest people you will ever meet. They greeted us upon arrival and immediately offered to help us with setting up some activities for the next day in Dullstroom. They recommended restaurants (which were great) and were just lovely. The cabin is exactly as pictured and was super cozy. We really enjoyed the tub after a long travel day. Would highly recommend staying here!

The cabin was easy to find and as soon as we arrived, Matty and her son met us to show us in and hand over the keys. The train passing close by was a fun experience and we enjoyed hearing it hoot! The cabin was clean and had a personal touch(we visited over Easter time, there was chocolates and Easter eggs for us). It was also warm and cozy with electric blankets, wall heaters and blankets. Matty and her son were insightful and sent us all the links to popular places nearby. Such a lovely experience in Dullstroom. Thank you Cinnamon and Sage!

Matty and her son were gracious hosts. The cabins are beautifully decorated, spacious , comfortable and well equipped. We really enjoyed our time in the cabin.

I wish there we were outside lights in the garden braai area, to make it easy to braai at night.

Friendly owners, Cabin is beautifully furnished, enough blankets to accommodate the area's weather, all utensils I needed for meals.

Matty met us upon arrival and made us feel very welcome - we especially appreciated the attention to detail in the cabin. We will be back and recommend this stay over for a midweek break or a weekend stay over. A real gem!

I was amazed at this quaint very comfortable cottage. Matty and her son Juliann were perfect hosts. Even fresh roses in every room. Communication the best. Will definitely go again.

It would have been nice to have accessible electric point in bedroom for chargers and hairdryer. No big problem.

Super detail oriented host! She made us feel very welcome not only by greeting us personally but with all the beautiful details she puts in the cabin. Fresh flowers everywhere! And when we needed help she immediately gave us numbers of people in the area that could help. We had a lovely time there!

The cabin was amazing! The decor was beautiful and it felt like our little home for a night. Very clean, the owners were amazing and caring.

It was extremely cold even though there were electric blankets. If there is any way of better insulating the place, I would highly recommend it. I would replace the mattress, as it arches a lot.

Really charming and cozy accommodation, very beautiful decoration, impeccable hygiene, Matty knew how to put us in the best conditions to spend a pleasant stay in Dullstroom. We ate at the recommended restaurant and it was delicious! Only negative point: not having stayed longer! We recommend +++++ 🌞

We had an overnight stay at the Cinnamon country cabin. Matty and her son Juliann were exceptional hosts. The cottage was beautifully decorated and the attention to detail created a unique charm to the cottage. It had all the amenities of a home away from home. We enjoyed our stay very much:)

The hosts put out age appropriate toys for my little boy which was a lovely gesture. The cabin was so warm and accommodating. Even had a calming aroma to it. Had all the amenities that one would need. The mom and son hosts were so welcoming and accommodating. They really went out of their way to make our stay a special one. We will definitely be back and recommend everyone to stay there.

The cabin is beautiful. Everything is absolutely perfect. From the menus of local restaurants, to extra blankets against the cold. It is close enough to walk to the main street, which is really nice. Even the rumbling train added a certain charm.

Very pleasant lodge, immaculate inside. Very comfortable and good parking. Host is very communicative and sent us good directions to get there and recs for dinner. We were welcomed on arrival.

We weren’t prepared for it to be so cold at night - if there is load shedding and the blanket doesn’t work it is very cold. We would be more prepared next time!

Matty and her son Julian were such lovely hosts who kept up such good communication.I stayed in the Sage cabin , and the pictures did not do it any justice. It's an absolute gem of a place. I really liked the decor and finishing touches, i.e. the electric blankets as Dullstroom can get very cold. I also liked its location and how close yet far away it is from the town. They also have menu's of the towns restaurants, which I truly appreciate.

Booked a unit with a hot tub as advertised, but there wasn't one, which was a bit dissappointing.

Gets very cold in Dullstroom so a heater would be nice, but the bed has an electric blanket which was lovely. The road getting to the cabins is a dirt road and is very bumpy, but not a train smash to get in and out

Amazing place in a small town, most wonderfull hosts.

The property was situated toward the back of Dullstroom within easy walking distance of the dam. The walk to and from town was a nice way to start and end the day. Mattey and Julian were great hosts.

The Hosts - a mother and son Team - were tentative and welcoming. The cabins were well equipped and tastefully decorated. Fresh flowers in the rooms and little sweets. Bathroom and lounge were spacious. Everything was super clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for peace and quiet from busy city-life. We loved our stay and definately want to come back.

The only thing missing was a fan. Either ceiling / room fan since the cabins get very warm on a sunny day.
