Amanda Luxury Cruise

We had a wonderful time on Amanda in Ha Long Bay. Our host/guide Andy D was fantastic, and brought lots of positive energy to our trip. Kayaking was a highlight.

This was such a lovely trip with plenty of activities. Staff were excellent including our booking assistant in Hanoi. We did the one night option, two would be great. The cruise is a medium size group.

It was beautiful and clean. The food was amazing and Andy was extremely helpful and courteous. Will be back for another cruise in the future.

The cruise ship was beautiful and clean. There was only about 20 or so cabins so it didn’t feel overcrowded or anything. The food was delicious and there’s was a lot of options. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Our cruise manager Andi was very energetic and welcoming. He even helped us out with arranging our onward travel last minute which we appreciate a lot! Great experience!

We didn’t have any music upstairs at the bar for our stay which I feel would’ve been more atmospheric. Also unfortunately the pool wasnt in operation during our stay but luckily we had plenty of swimming opportunities in the bay.

C'était un très beau voyage, et c'était la première fois de ma vie que je séjournais sur un bateau. Toute l'expérience a été agréable du début à la fin. Le responsable ainsi que l'un des membres de l'équipage ont pris grand soin de nous tout au long de la croisière. J'ai particulièrement apprécié la soirée sur le pont supérieur, où nous avons partagé un petit moment convivial avec de la musique, quelques danses et des boissons. L'ambiance était chaleureuse, détendue et a rendu cette première expérience en bateau vraiment inoubliable.

This was a beautiful experience and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Andy was a great cruise director and Jenny looked after us wonderfully on the boat. Activities were fun and easy to enjoy.

The rooms were a little tired. No wifi the whole time we were away.

I would recommend this to everyone! The views were obviously out of this world! But the crew really made the trip an outstanding experience! All crew members were extremely friendly and accommodating. Absolutely unforgettable, I wish I had booked 2 nights instead of 1! I recommend this trip to EVERYBODY! It is something you must try and see!

All the staff were incredibly friendly; Stephanie - our helper, was always enthusiastic and explained many interesting things about Ha Long Bay! The meals were delicious, especially dinner, and the staff during those days, was always very friendly and helpful. Both the room and the cruise were in excellent condition.

Fantastic staff and facilities including Andrew and tony

The staff was incredibly attentive, and we even received a small party treat because the manager knew we were on our honeymoon. It was a bit awkward, but those memories will last forever. The buffet was excellent, and the activities and tours truly offered an immersive experience in this iconic Vietnamese location.

The food was top quality and the room was comfortable and clean. It was a treat to have the bath looking out over Lan ha bay and we relaxed on our balcony much of the time. The activities provided were fun but optional. Kayaking and swimming, then the visit to Cat ba island was fascinating. We squid fished and drank cocktails in happy hour once we had taken part in the spring rolls class. All in all an absolute treat.

C'était ma deuxième visite dans la baie d'Ha Long, et cette fois-ci, j'ai choisi Amanda Luxury Cruise. L'expérience a été vraiment très agréable. Le bateau est magnifique, les cabines sont spacieuses et très confortables. Lors de notre séjour, il faisait extrêmement chaud, mais la climatisation fonctionnait parfaitement, aussi bien dans les espaces de restauration que dans les chambres, ce qui a rendu la croisière très agréable. La cuisine était de très bonne qualité, avec un large choix de plats pour satisfaire tous les goûts. Quant au personnel, il a été exceptionnel : chaleureux, attentionné et toujours souriant, ce qui a rendu notre séjour encore plus plaisant. Je recommande vivement de choisir une croisière qui inclut la baie de Lan Ha. Les paysages y sont absolument magnifiques et l'endroit est beaucoup moins fréquenté que certaines autres parties de la baie, ce qui permet de profiter pleinement de la beauté des lieux dans une atmosphère plus paisible.

We stayed for 2 days and 1 night and wished we could stay longe. The views around Halong Bay were magical, especially early in the morning, we can do the Tai-chi on sundeck. The staff were warm, polite, and always happy to help us with anything we needed. The meals onboard were excellent with plenty of options, and the overall service truly felt 5star.

We loved sitting on the top deck in the evening watching the sunset over the bay. The itinerary was well planned but never felt rushed, so we still and plenty of time to enjoy and relax onboard. The cabin was spacious and clean, and the bathroom was surprisingly modern for a cruise ship.

The sceery was breathtaking, the food was delicious, and the crew were always smiling and helpful. The room was modern, quiet, and much bigger than we expected.

The room was larger than expected and had an amazing ocean view. We especially appreciated how clean and well maintained the entire cruise was.

Ha Long Bay is a highly polluted brown cesspit. It is nothing like the turquoise bay advertised. It really needs a solution. We saw a massive amount of rubbish thrown into the sea at night by staff- lots of plastic. It’s truely a shame to Vietnam and needs a program in place. A beautiful place has been destroyed by humans. We couldn’t wait to get off the boat. They also stick to a strict schedule with breakfast before 7am and yell down the hallway incredibly early to announce it’s time for activities. You don’t have to get off but they don’t really cater for people staying on the boat. Don’t book the 2nd day- they take u off the boat til 3pm to get it ready for the next 1 dayers to board and then repeat the same cruise as day 1. The rooms were quite lovely though -with a nice bath. Altho our children’s room had no hot water most of the time.

Les paysages de la baie d’Halong étaient incroyables, surtout au coucher du soleil depuis le pont supérieur. La nourriture était délicieuse, avec un grand choix de plats, notamment des fruits de mer frais et des options végétariennes. Nous nous sommes sentis parfaitement pris en charge tout au long de la croisière.

The staff went above and beyond to make our anniversary special, even decorating our room and surprising us with a small cake at dinner. The scenery around Halong Bay was breathtaking and the ship itself was elegant and modern. We would happily come back again.

The food was well prepared, portions were generous, and activities were well organized without being overwhelming. There were no unexpected costs, and everything matched the description. We would definitely choose this cruise again and confidently recommend it to other travelers.

Dit is een unieke ervaring. We hadden een prachtige kamer met balkon en je krijgt continu nieuwe indrukwekkende uitzichten. Alles was heel erg proper en goed georganiseerd. De planning is strak, dus dit maakt de cruise-ervaring wel intens. Het is dus geen cruise om te relaxen, maar ze zorgen er wel voor dat je een goede combinatie aan activiteiten en ontspanning hebt.

We werden 2 dagen op voorhand gecontacteerd om in te schepen op een andere cruise van dezelfde organisatie, met volledig hetzelfde aanbod. Dit was heel goed, maar we hebben uiteindelijk niet gekregen wat we wel geboekt hadden. Het diner bleef wel onder verwachting en was niet in lijn met de rest van de cruise. We raden de keuken aan om dichtbij de Vietnamese keuken te blijven.

I thoroughly enjoyed the food—it was truly excellent. Andy, our manager, was wonderful—both friendly and very helpful, with a great sense of humor. Daisy was so helpful and friendly. The rest of the team was equally impressive, providing outstanding service throughout.

A nossa experiência no Amanda Luxury Cruises não foi boa. Sendo um cruzeiro vendido como “luxo de 5 estrelas”, é inadmissível haver baratas no quarto — numa só noite matámos 8. Avisámos o staff do sucedido, foram ao quarto e aplicaram inseticida, mas, quando regressámos, voltámos a encontrar mais. No dia seguinte, trocaram-nos de quarto, mas considerámos a atitude do staff demasiado passiva. Na segunda noite já não encontrámos baratas no novo quarto, mas elas estavam presentes noutras áreas do barco, nomeadamente no deck superior junto ao bar. A limpeza dos quartos deixa muito a desejar: ao afastarmos as camas da parede, devido às baratas, encontrámos restos de comida atrás da cama. O pequeno-almoço não é mau, mas está longe do esperado para um espaço considerado “5 estrelas”. Muito caro para o serviço e as condições oferecidas. Ficámos profundamente desiludidos com a passividade do staff, o que não é surpreendente, tendo em conta que era uma equipa muito jovem.

The food was very good and we especially liked eating in the open air on deck in the evening. The staff were attentive but never intrusive. We had Lisa mainly as our waitress and she was excellent, making sure our food and drink orders were delivered quickly and accurately. She was always smiling and it helped to create a good atmosphere.

There is quite a bit of waiting around for things such as when you first arrive and also when you leave. The ship is quite small in some ways and it takes some organising of the facilities to make things work well. However, the size of the ship made things quite intimate so I guess one thing is balanced by the other. Another thing was the whinging Australians who I think had stumbled onto the cruise by mistake and just wanted to drink and lie in the tiny pool. They should go back to Bali where they can be taken care of properly.

The cruise director Tony was lovely and was very attentive, he was funny and made sure everyone was happy. food was lovely, and itinerary was great fun, lots to do and well planned out for all ages all the staff were friendly. The ship itself was very clean, the room was great with good facilities.

If you stayed on board during the day whilst the excursion was happening off the ship then there is no food available, the only reason I say this, is because my mum stayed on board as she was unwell and there was no food available or drink. So my dad went up to the captain to get a soda

The staff on board the ship were friendly.

The management. We made a booking through booking.com for 2 adults and 1 child. The booking said that the child stays for free. We were then advised that the child will be charged 75 percent of the adult fare. When we showed them the booking. Com confirmation, we were advised that the booking.com portal was wrong. Also, we checked its itinerary on Klook which showed kayaking in the caves and visiting of multiple caves, but we were only taken to one cave. Caves itinerary has been attached with this review, this was not followed. Also, the Karaoke was just a mic, we had to use our phone for the Karaoke.

Everything was fine nothing that we did not like

They changed my stay from amanda to le joyrney at the last moment saying there was a issue in my room. I don’t believe it. Food was really terrible. I dont think the chef knows what he’s doing. I was quite hungry through out. I paid for a shuttle bus with them on the way back. They forced us to stop at a bamboo shop and made us forcefully Watch people sell things to us. Felt like an absolute scam and ruined my experience. I missed my flight because of this stupid stop. They are just trying to make money from the bamboo shop. DONT BOOK WITH THEM! Go to CALISTA CRUISE

This cruise is ideal for families or groups. The cabins were comfortable, food portions were generous, and there was always something to do on board. Everyone in our group enjoyed the experience, from relaxing on the deck to participating in activities.

Very comfy room with en-suite and bath with a view. Good food. Friendly staff.

The atmosphere was lively but still relaxing, perfect for traveling with friends. The activities were enjoyable, the staff was cheerful, and the shared spaces were great for socializing. It felt like a small floating holiday.

Ce que nous avons le plus apprécié, c’est le rythme de la croisière. Tout se déroulait sans précipitation, ce qui nous a permis de vraiment profiter des paysages et de l’expérience. Les repas étaient servis avec soin, inspirés des saveurs locales, et le personnel partageait de petites histoires sur la région. Cette croisière offre une manière sincère et authentique de découvrir la destination.

Le design du bateau était élégant et en harmonie avec le paysage naturel. Nous avons adoré passer des moments tranquilles sur le pont, en regardant les îles de calcaire défiler. L’atmosphère était calme et raffinée, loin du tourisme de masse. On avait vraiment l’impression de vivre un voyage, plutôt que de simplement séjourner dans un hôtel.

Trevlig, hjälpsam och speciellt uppmärksam personal. Vi gick tidigare från middagen för att vårt barn var trött. Personalen (speciellt Anna) uppmärksammade att vi inte åt efterrätt och levererade detta till vårt rum utan att vi bad om det. Fick även bra service med transport till vår nästa station.

Inga drycker ingick, inte ens vid maten. Det var mycket mat men inget speciellt.

The suite with the balcony allowed us to enjoy the beautiful view at all times whilst on the cruise. The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Anha our server and Andre the cruise leader who was very entertaining and made sure we were all having a good time.

We were lucky enough to stay in the presidential suite which was beautiful and had a balcony. The food was excellent and the service from the staff was fantastic. They looked after everything we needed and made us feel welcome and special on our New Year’s Eve stay. Thank you to David the restaurant manager and andre the cruise manager who made everything perfect.

I can't really rate this cruise specifically. We were moved to a different cruise line at the last hour. I booked Amanda after doing my research, and over the past few months I was chatting to 1 person for organising stuff there. That person left the company and none of my communications (through Whatsapp) was noted anywhere. 2 days before the cruise a new person was in touch. I repeated the entire process. Up to the day of the cruise, everything was smooth with the admin. Then an hour or so before I got sent a "we regret to inform you....." message. Stating that the cruise had leaks due to the storms. But there were no recent storms that would not have allowed the leakage identification to have only occurred on the morning of the cruise. They had weeks or months to do so. I believe this was simply an excuse. Perhaps for overbooking. Anyway, luckily enough, they booked us on another cruise that offered the same itinerary, so we were ok with that. However, it was another cruiseline, one that I had ruled out as part of my initial research. In the end, it worked out.

The crew was nice and helpful but very eagerly asked for personal ” top reviews”, very annoying and completely destroying the review system. This seems to be a standard way in Vietnam. Drinks where very expensive, including plain water

The experience was very beautiful. We went here on our Anniversary. The rooms are very well kept and offer unblocked beautiful views. Hospitality is to notch. Surely recommend. We had an absolutely wonderful time on Amanda Cruise — and a big part of that was thanks to David and Andre. Right from the start, they welcomed us with warmth, friendliness, and a genuine eagerness to make sure we were comfortable and happy. Their service felt personal and attentive: whether during meals or excursions, they checked on us often, remembered our preferences (food, drinks, comfort), and always had a smile. Andre, as the cruise manager, showed great professionalism and made sure everything ran smoothly, while David’s kindness and helpfulness throughout the trip made the experience feel extra special.

De boat itself is a winner! Super beautiful room, with cosy balcony! The restaurant was excellent. Food was good.

Be aware!! This is not a cruise!! We booked the 3 day 2 night option because we wanted to get out of the cruise ship packed area around ha long. When we were on board we got informed that almost everybody had the 1 night option and that for day two would be ‘rented out’ To a daytrip boat. That boat did not have the comfort level of the main boat and still was in the mass tourism spectrum. Very disappointing. In the hindsight the main boat is a floating restaurant. It sails maybe maximum 30min in one direction and 30 min back. That was not what we signed up for. If you know this in advance you choose the format but this is not how it’s advertised. Therefore it feels like a very expensive toerist trap. I was informed that because of environmental regulations the big boat is not allowed deeper into the Bay Area and that was the reason we were put on the smaller boat for the daytrip. Again understandable but it is not advertised like that and this is very frustrating! The main boat itself is very nice. And we enjoyed our excellent room with stunning views. The upper deck could get some more dressing up.

The service was very good, and they took extremely good care of us. We are so grateful for staff and all of the extreme care they took. We also had a small hiccup and forgot our bag but the helpful staff and especially William helped us managed to get our bag back for us. He even brought us a Vietnamese coffee! We are so extremely grateful for all of the staff here and would highly recommend this trip.

Nothing! It was amazing!

What I loved about this cruise was the stunning location, surrounded by the most beautiful limestone rocks and breathtaking views of Ha Long Bay. Being able to get on and off the boat to explore different sights and experience this incredible area was amazing. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always eager to help, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.

What I did not like was seeing a staff member throw plastic bags from the kitchen into the sea. This behaviour was very disappointing and unacceptable. I reported it to the company, and the staff member was dismissed, but it still left a negative impression

It was one of my best trips, many thanks to the whole team, especially my manager Jade manager on the ship li. And the whole, whole, whole team.

Mala organización, en función a quien preguntaras te decía una cosa diferente. El personal hablaba un inglés imposible de entender, si es que lo hablan. Y lo mejor es que cuando llegas a la habitación con ganas de darte una ducha, el agua sale con un chorrito, dando gracias. Todo esto en un supuesto crucero de lujo. No vale lo que cuesta

The beautiful Ha Long Bay

Unfortunately, the lack of communication was a let down. We did the 2 nights/3 day option-make sure that you check this carefully as we found out our intinerary for day 2 late on the first night-when VC Mark announced that everyone was getting off the day-hello what about us. They did forget us on 2 occasions but thankfully we survived. The beauty of Ha Long Bay is the only saving grace.
