Reviewed Sep 6, 2026The lady in the breakfast place was rude, if you didn’t speak French. She would just keep talking to you in French and then raised her hand cuz we didn’t understand her. The front desk girl was amazing.
We didn’t get acknowledged for our dinner for 35 min. We had a reservation and just sat there then were ignored for that time.

Reviewed Sep 1, 2026A very warm welcome set the right tone. The room was comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was very well appointed (we appreciated the towelling robes). The dinner was of high quality. A little disappointed that the bar did not stock non-alcoholic beer. The location was picturesque and interesting, in the middle of the Sancerre vineyard.
Parking, on thé village street, was a bit haphasard. We got there early and managed to park opposite the hotel, but that facility is limited and not available to all.

Reviewed Aug 23, 2026Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal, großes sauberes Zimmer mit begehbarer Dusche. Bequemes Bett. Mitten im Ortsteil Chavignol gelegen. Exzellente Küche und toller Wein wie in einem Weingut zu erwarten. Schönes Frühstücksbuffet. Wir würden auf jeden Fall gerne wiederkommen.
Entfernung zum eigentlichen Ortszentrum groß, man benötigt dafür ein Auto.

Teleurstellend dat er niet een plekje voor 1 persoon gevonden kon worden om in het hotel te dineren. De gastronomie was wel een van de redenen om dit hotel te boeken.

Reviewed Aug 20, 2026Sehr freundliche Befienung, Bett war gut, Sauberkeit auch, aber die Einrichtung erinnert an das Hotel von Barton Fink (Film). Zimmer zur Straße sind ab 6:30 dem Verkehrslärm ausgeliefert. Die Bar erinnert an die Vorhalle eines Schwimmbads und der Raum des Restaurants lässt kein Wohlgefühl aufkommen. Beim halben Preis hätte ich ok gesagt. Nochmals: sehr freundlich , sehr sauber, aber von der Atmosphäre abstrus. Würde ich keinem meiner Bekannten empfehlen. Sorry

Breakfast quite limited in choice, no additional coffee offered after the first cup was served.

Reviewed Aug 11, 2026Centrally located amid the vineyards of Chavignol. The hotel is an easy walk to François Cotat, Gérard Boulay and of course the famille Bourgeois wineries. Friendly staff really went out of its way to be helpful. Breakfast and dinner were very, very good. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
No parking lot at the hotel, but the staff pointed us to a nearby free place to park.

Utomhusserveringen var mycket provisorisk. Rummen skulle behöva renoveras Det fanns ingen naturlig parkering bredvid hotellet. Vi parkerade på en allmän parkering 5 minuter från hotellet.

Décoration ordinaire de la chambre 5. Salle de bains certes très grande, mais plutôt digne d'un hôpital ou d'une clinique, totalement sinistre. Vue de la chambre à quelques mètres sur la maison d'en face. Insonorisation perfectible. Comportement du personnel type "accueil à la ferme" : le matin de notre départ, on frappe à notre porte à 10h30 et la dame me dit : "Mes collègues ont oublié de vous faire payer hier soir. Je suis seule à faire les p'tits dej' et les chambres. Venez me voir au 2ème étage quand vous serez prêts..." Le parking est à 400 mètres de l'hôtel. Tout cela pour 141 € par nuit, sans le petit déjeuner ou plutôt le "p'tit dej" pour reprendre la formule locale.

Nous comptions diner dans l'établissement mais n'avions pas pensé a réserver. L'hotel nous a contacté quelques jours avant notre séjour, mais pour nous dire qu'ils étaient complets pour le diner. La démarche de nous avertir est appréciée mais une proposition de réservation avant d'être complet aurait été encore meilleure.

No bottled water in room. We were fortunate to find a parking space in street outside. Parking was available at approx 200m from hotel but would not have felt very comfortable leaving car there.

Reviewed Jul 11, 2026A lovely and unpretentious hotel in Chavignol. Bedroom and bathroom were both large and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very good throughout from reception to the bar, restaurant and breakfast. The standout of this hotel was the exceptional cuisine. The menu choice is limited to fish or meat but the quality and presentation were absolutely fantastic, and superb value. The hotel also offers complementary wine tasting in their own cellar, which has a very extensive selection of fine local wines.
There were a few creaks and groans from the bar or kitchen equipment below our bedroom during the night, but I am a very light sleeper. Most normal people probably wouldn’t even notice.

I have stayed at the hotel a number of times, but the person on the desk did not seem to understand that as we are now in our 80s, we cannot clamber around on internal staircase.

140€ pour une nuit sans eau chaude à notre arrivée c’est un peu cher surtout que la réceptionniste s’est excusée du problème sans même proposer un geste. Un petit déjeuner à 15€ avec du café en Thermos c’est un peu cher payé

Facilities inside the historic building are more modern than in many French hotels, including an elevator, king-size bed, and large sleeping area and bathroom. Surrounded by vineyards in rolling terrain where Sancerre wines are made, we loved that the same family owns the hotel, restaurant, and Henri Bourgeoise winemaking enterprise. So nice to be able to dine in the superb on-site restaurant and walk up an adjacent hill for a guided tour/tasting. Highly recommend doing it all!

het is zeer netjes maar toch langzaam aan vernieuwing toe . wij hadden een superieur kamer en kasten en muren vertoonden toch slijtage . maar alles was zeer netjes .

We had bikes with us that were stored in a garage. You must visit their excellent wine tasting center nearby in this charming village.

Chambre decevante pour un 3 etoiles : un peu vieillotte, plinthe cassée, moquette tachée...mais surtout joints du carrelage du sol de la douche à l'italienne moisis qui auraient pu avec peu d'effort être nettoyés. De plus, l'alarme incendie s'est déclenchée dans la nuit. Nous avons évacué l'hôtel et appeler la responsable. Excuses timides.... alarme chambre froide défectueuse qui avait déjà sonné dans la journée... Des excuses plus affirmées auraient été appréciées ainsi qu'un petit geste commercial.
