We really enjoyed our stay, thanks to the guides Jaidi and Mohammad we saw amazing wildlife during 6 river cruises and a jungle walk. The guides are very knowledgeable and share interesting facts about the animals and plants around the river. Special thanks to the staff who prepared amazing vegan meals to accommodate to our diet. The tempeh and tofu meals were delicious. Everybody was very helpful and kind. Great value for money and I highly recommend:)

El desayuno no es variado.. se turnan dos establecimientos en proporcionar el desayuno, uno de ellos es el restaurante donde hacíamos las comidas y no hay casi variedad.

Great location and very friendly staff. You can book a river cruise directly on site. Everyone is helpful, kind and welcoming. There’s also a great, cheap and delicious local restaurant nearby.

The food was tasty, and always on time. The room was big and located right next to the river where the tours started. The size was nice and it was spacious. The staff was nice and helpful.

The bed sheets were dirty and had hairs. We tried to ask them for clean ones and they were not very accommodating. It would have been nice to have somewhere to chill and hang out between tours, like a common space. Everything is cash only so make sure you bring enough to the area, since there is no ATM.

La cama era un poco dura

Las excursiones que ofrecían, el guía fue fantástico y pudimos ver un montón de fauna. Hicimos tres cruceros por el río y aunque hay momentos en los que no ves nada, la experiencia es inigualable. La habitación tenia aire acondicionado y ventilador que funcionaban a la perfección.

La limpieza, los edredones y las toallas estaban amarillas. Si bien es cierto que sabes dónde vas y que tienes lo esencial para estar bien. En nuestro caso, el agua caliente no funcionó.

Tout était parfait. Très propre. Le personnel est très sympa. Et ils organisent des excursions sur la rivière de Kinabatangan matin, après midi et soir. Je recommande !

Hana a été à l’écoute et très accueillante. L’emplacement en face des embarcations pour la River Cruise est parfait et l’ambiance est incroyable.

Petite odeur dans la chambre mais franchement pour le prix c’est un détail.

El baño y que habia hormigas, es verdad que estan en la selva pero creo que se puede mejorar, es una lastima porque cuidando mas el detalle seria una buena opcion. Por otro lado me dejo tirado con una reserva de driver para ir alli y a semporna, se desentendió de solucionarlo simplemente me dijo que se lo habían cancelado. Y esto solo dos dias antes y porque le escribi yo, la solucion que me dio fue la de darme un contacto. Lo soluione por mi cuenta pero no me parece correcto. lo dicho me da la sensacionn que tienen el negocio hecho y no se esfuerzan en mejorar.

Se trata de unos bungalows que no destacan en mitad de la jungla afortunadamente lo que permite valorar mejor el medioambiente. La responsable Hana es un encanto de persona y las chicas del restaurante también, la comida casera y deliciosa!! Las excursiones super bien organizadas, pudimos ver todos los animales que nos habíamos propuesto

El día de la excursión nocturna nos llovió (como llueve siempre a esa hora) y hubo que volver antes por seguridad, es la única pega que puedo poner

Buona struttura con prezzi piuttosto economici rispetto all’offerta della zona. Organizzano bei tour sul fiume, guide brave e competenti che ci hanno permesso di vedere tutti i big 5. Per i pasti ci si appoggia al ristorante di fronte che offre piatti semplici ma molto economici (volendo disponibile anche il buffet). Stanza grande e pulita. Staff gentile che ci ha supportato per organizzare i trasferimenti in auto per arrivare e per spostarci alla tappa successiva.

- The tour were well organised and the position is really worthy - They provide transfer form other facilities for extra money (we’ve been collected in sepilok) - The staff was very understanding, as we had the necessity to leave one day earlier due to a last minute flight change, and we got a complete refund of the remaining 2 cruises we paid in advance

- Communication via booking chat was not so responsive - Facilities were just ok overall (the duvet was with no case and unfortunately yellow stained) - Food was served in the “restaurant” in front of the facilities. Tables and chair were just infested with ants and the overall hygiene was lacking

Lo staff ci ha accolto caldamente, sono molto disponibili e ci hanno fornito la possibilità di attivare dei pacchetti per le crociere e per i pasti. Ci hanno aiutato anche con la prenotazione dell autobus e a organizzare il transfer alla stazione degli autobus

Le stanze sono pulite, c’è un piccolo spazio tra la porta e il pavimento che si può comprire con teli o zaini, per non far entrare animaletti durante la notte. Il piumone è leggermente macchiato di giallo ma comunque è lavato e profuma di pulito.

Excelente para hacer excursiones en el río Kinabatangan (ofrecen diferentes packs con salidas a la tarde, noche y mañana incluyendo desayuno, comida y cena), personal súper agradable y encima nos ayudó con el traslado para llegar e irnos (nos reservó los billetes de autobús que nos salvó de coger un trasporte mucho más costoso a Semporna).

Gestione pratica e di ottimo livello per il contesto naturale in cui ci si trova, dove Hana è brava. Le escursioni. Il ristorantino molto molto spartano ma sopra le aspettative.

Un po' di cattivo odore in bagno, ma sopportabile.

Staff molto disponibile, struttura essenziale ma se uno cerca l immersione con la natura questo è il posto giusto. Si attraversa la strada e si è sulla banchina per partire con le escursioni in barca perciò comodissima. Io ho scelto questo posto perché consigliavano molto la guida JD e devo dire che è una persona molto preparata e con un gran occhio clinico. Con una sola uscita di ci ha permesso di vedere subito i big 5 del borneo. Consiglio assolutamente questo b&b

Mancava Phone per capelli e il ristorante in cui si appoggia il B&b si mangia bene (cucina malese) ma occorre prima di entrare non voltarsi per guardare dentro alla cucina.

We had a fantastic stay at Sukau Tomanggong View Bed & Breakfast. The accommodation itself is simple, but it is exactly in line with the description and very good value for money. Our room was adequately clean and comfortable for the price. What really made our stay special was the staff and the guides. Everyone was extremely friendly, helpful and always available to assist us. They went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. For example, when elephants were spotted in an area that could only be reached by car, they kindly offered to take us there so that we could see them. We were also very lucky with the wildlife sightings during our stay and managed to see all the animals we were hoping for, including elephants and orangutans. Of course, sightings can never be guaranteed, but the guides were knowledgeable and clearly very committed to helping guests have the best possible experience. There is also a restaurant just opposite the B&B, which we found to be good and very affordable. Overall, we highly recommend this place, especially for anyone looking for a simple, authentic and affordable base for exploring the Kinabatangan River. The kindness and availability of the staff and guides really made the difference.

If I had to give a couple of suggestions: I would add a bedsheet underneath the duvet and replace the towels, as they are a little yellowed.

Il posto è esattamente sul fiume, è un posto semplice ed essenziale, pulito, e questo a mio parere lo rende più autentico dei resort. La ragazza è disponibile e ci ha aiutati a prenotare il bus per semporna. Le crociere sul fiume con JD sono le migliori, in una sola crociera, quella del mattino alla quale tra l'altro eravamo da soli, abbiamo visto tutti i big 5, ha un occhio incredibile e molta disponibilità. Il tour ci è sembrato comunque molto rispettoso degli animali.

Consigliamo di mettere un lenzuolo sotto la coperta, dato che immaginiamo non venga lavata di volta in volta, oppure un copri piumino. Attenzione con gli orari della cena, perché alle 7.30 l'unico ristorante che c'è chiude. Noi non eravamo stati avvisati da Hana e siamo rimasti spiazzati, per fortuna ci ha aiutati a prenotare un deliveroo.

Si tratta di una struttura molto alla buona ma comunque con tutto il necessario ed era tutto pulito (non scontato in Malesia). Struttura a due passi dal fiume e con un’ottima organizzazione per quanto riguarda le attività, guide preparate e disponibili. Ottimo prezzo per il pernottamento e la colazione, cena / pranzi / attività sono a parte ma comunque con un ottimo rapporto qualità/ prezzo. Consiglierei!

Unica cosa che proprio non ci ha fatto impazzire è la comunicazione con la struttura, spesso bisogna sollecitare una risposta ma tutto sommato ci siamo trovati bene!

L'hôtel est juste à côté de la rivière et propose des excursions avec un guide très intéressant. La chambre est spacieuse, propre et bien équipée. Le dîner était délicieux. Le rapport qualité prix est très bon. Il y a une clim qui fonctionne bien.

Le petit déjeuner était très léger pour ceux qui n'aiment pas manger salé le matin. La salle de bain n'est pas à la hauteur de la chambre (l'écoulement de la douche se fait derrière les toilettes et le sol est rapidement une piscine)

Metterei una striscia di plastica sotto la porta perché c'è una fessura attraverso cui passano gli insetti, in particolare i grilli che poi fanno rumore la notte.

Via de accommodatie hebben we 3 x een rivercruise en 1 x een jungle wandeling geboekt en dit was leuk. Het restaurantje stelde niet veel voor wat betreft gezelligheid maar het eten was goed en dat voor heel weinig. Verder is er niet veel wat je op eigen gelegenheid kan doen. Een aanrader is River Bean Coffee. Dat ligt op ongeveer 15 minuten lopen.

Prijs-kwaliteit in vergelijking met andere locaties is prima. Maar verwacht er niet teveel van.

La proximité avec la rivière et le resto tout proche est un vrai plus! Le petit dej est pas mal et les chambres top. Le personnel est adorable et très réactif.

Behulpzaam personeel, vlak naast de rivier. Alles is zoals het is omschreven. Je zit midden in de natuur, dus moet geen resort verwachten.

Met een kleine investering kan de douche worden verbeterd.

De ligging in de natuur, direct aan de rivier, is fantastisch. Hana regelt alles snel en is goed bereikbaar via whatsapp. Jaidy doet de boottochten en jungle walks heel goed met veel informatie en grapjes. In de zeer basic kamer is gelukkig wel airco.

Het restaurantje aan de overkant is niet al te hygiënisch.

Modest, but adequate for one night. The staff were very friendly. Contact was seamless via mile and WhatsApp. Everything was taken care of. River trips - the marina is 50 meters from the hotel - booked through the staff. Thank you :) :)

Hannah nos atendió maravillosamente..Cogimos el pack de tres noches y dos días y vimos elefantes, orangutanes, cocodrilos y un montón de animales en libertad. La comida estaba muy buena también. Dormimos fenomenal. Nos encantó.

1. The area was great, with plenty of green jungle along the road. The accommodation building looked nice from the outside. The rooms were clean and spacious. The air conditioning was okay, but could have been a bit better; We’re still hot. 2. We received great help from the woman working at the reception regarding transportation to and from the accommodation. She was also a good and enthusiastic guide on one of the boat trips we took. 3. We took a morning cruise (at 6:00 AM) that was wonderful, with few other boats around. We saw even more animals then. We also went on a three-hour boat trip to see pygmy elephants. The trip itself was nice, but the guide could have been more enthusiastic; he hardly spoke and seemed to just want to go home.

1. Rooms 5 and 8 had a terrible smell of sewage(room 9 had not such a smell). The shower has a drain next to the toilet, which is located on the other side of the bathroom. When showering, the entire floor gets wet, and it takes a long time for the water to drain away. They don't use duvet covers 😳(we only got the duvet itself, and it had yellow spots and blue mold). There is no daily room cleaning. 2. We were a bit disappointed with the first boat trip(the afternoon cruise), as there were probably 20 other boats trying to see the animals at the same time. Whenever a boat spotted an animal, there was a mad dash to get a look at creatures perched high up in the treetops(it almost looked like a competition between the boats😂). Some of the guides use lasers to point out the animals. This seemed to scare the animals. We found it disturbing for both us and the animals. The photos didn't turn out well with the laser light on the animal, either! (And heads-up; you can't expect to get very good photos with a mobile phone camera, because the animals is mostly too far away🙃). Some of the boats from other companies were incredibly noisy and reeked of diesel. We didn't quite know what to expect, but was probably hoping more for an authentic, peaceful rainforest experience with less tourism. (Yes, I know we’re part of the tourism statistics🙃) 3. The woman at the reception was a bit moody. She was smiling and cheerful on the first day, but seemed a bit grumpy and dismissive on the second. It’s okay to have bad days, but maybe try to hide it at work?! 4. There are no restaurants other than the one at the accommodation. Decent food. Remember to bring cash! 5. This has nothing to do with the accomodation, but it was sad to see oil palm plantations located near the river in several places. Sad for the wildlife.

Good location, good cruise packages, large room, helpful staff. Absolutely loved the river cruises and will always remember the wildlife we saw. Guides were knowledgeable and JD was very friendly. The river guides share sightings quickly so you can end up with 15 boats in one location.

The restaurant offered a buffet when booking the packages. I would have preferred to order from the A La Carte menu with the package for variety. Most food was battered and fried….chicken, prawns, bananas and even eggs. We felt very unhealthy when leaving. Breakfast was disappointing. There was quite a gap under the door which meant we had various visitors to the room with 6 or more legs.

la struttura si trova letteralmente immersa nel verde fronte fiume kinabatangan. camera pulita grande con tutto il necessario, abbiamo speso 29€ per una notte e il rapporto qualità prezzo è il migliore che abbiamo trovato nel borneo malese. personale gentilissimo, risponde a qualsiasi richiesta in tempo zero, si assicura che tutto vada bene, organizza via wathsapp transfert privati da e per sandakan più economico di grab che comunque non circola in quelle zone. per i pasti si serve di un “ristorante” davanti alla struttura sul fiume. abbiamo speso pochissimo per mangiare, per gli occidentali è meglio non guardare le cucine prima di ordinare, ma il cibo era buonissimo e non siamo stati male. consigliatissime le escursioni in barca compresa quella notturna che propone la struttura, la nostra guida JD TOP !

mobilio essenziale, non datato, con tutto il necessario per il prezzo che offerto, l’unica cosa però è che non è presente un bar o comunque uno spazio comune dove rilassarsi, ma ci sono solo ed esclusivamente le stanze quindi consiglio questa struttura per una sola notte per godere delle escursioni sul fiume.

Er was niks in de buurt dan het restaurant tegenovee het verblijf. Er was naast de activiteiten niks te doen (je kan niet ergens naar toe lopen voor een goede bak koffie of om een wandeling te maken).

Huge and comfortable room, close to the jetty. We got to see most animals except elephants.

They offer low cost river cruise but the guides didn’t seem to care very much. Sometimes we stopped for over 15 minutes looking at animals we couldn’t see very well just because they were talking with other boat guides which was disappointing when you only have 2 hours. Breakfast is served in the only restaurant nearby and the staff there is quite rude but the food is good. I’d recommend walking 20min to the town and eating there for lunch (good burger place and 1 local restaurant with nicer staff).

Hele basic B&B, verwacht dus ook niet te veel van je kamer. De kamer heeft wel alles wat het nodig heeft. Ventilatie en airco. Een basic badkamer met toilet apart. Het ligt prachtig aan de rivier, waar alles om draait. Het is een echte familie bedrijf. Ze regelen alles voor je. Je kan met elke boot cruise mee. Er wordt voor je gekookt bij een restaurant aan de rivier. Ook dit is erg basic, echt hoe de mensen daar leven. Maar lekker gegeten!

Het is met name basic, simpel onderhouden. Ze zouden een opknap beurt moeten geven aan de kamers. Maar verder prima.

The ac did not work prperly and we heard from other guests had the same problem .The dogs make noice all night can not sleep. Bothroom had an unfortunate smell

The room was fine, clean, better than we expected. We stayed 2 nights and did 6 cruises. We saw various animals and birds during the cruises, including orangutans, proboscis monkeys, other monkeys, crocodiles, hornbills. Unfortunately, we didn't see any elephants - we were told that they were too far, 2h away by boat, and the hotel was not offering tours to reach them. The start of the morning cruise is very atmospheric with the rising mist, and we enjoyed the bright stars during the night cruise. It was interesting to see large fruit bats flying in the evening and feeding on the trees right next to the hotel. The hotel arranged private transport for us from and to Sepilok, at the time requested by us (250 rm one way for 2 people). The car was good and on time both times. It was a bit difficult to get responses from the hotel via Booking.com messages, but via WhatsApp the communication was much better.

The guides did not seem very enthusiastic during the cruises, sometimes they preferred to just chat to each other and check their phones while slowly and aimlessly drifting in the middle of the river. We understand that this is nature and no sightings are guaranteed, but it is nice if the guide is at least trying to look for animals. The area around the hotel is not pretty, and there isn't anything to do between the cruises. We were considering staying for 3 nights at first, and we were glad that we decided to stay only 2 nights. This is more than enough time to do the cruises and see most animals; after a while, the cruises become repetitive. For example, as there wasn't much to do, we bought another night cruise, and it turned out that the route and the animals were exactly the same - it's not possible to see anything different on a night cruise (unlike during morning or afternoon, as those routes can vary a bit). You are asked to wear life jackets which stink with sweat. The jungle walk is very overpriced and not worth it. They say that 30rm is for the guide and 30rm is the entrance fee, but later the guide told us that the area is free to enter (unlike a different area where they used to do the jungle walk in the past). So they continue to charge the "entrance fee" for something that is free to enter. During the walk, you can see some plants and insects, which was interesting enough, but not justifying the price. The food served by the hotel restaurant as part of the package was poor. Meat was of very low quality. But the papaya served for dinner was really nice. No duvet cover (but they said they wash the duvets).

Very good location. 30 seconds by walk to the pier and 15 seconds to the simple restaurant. The host was very friendly and helped to solve different issues for us. They also arranged a perfect transfer from Sukau to Semporna. The guide JD was a real professional and helped us to see a lot of different animals, birds, snakes. Great experience and highly recommended.

Maybe the only disadvantage was the lack of mosquito frame on windows.. But it is easily to be solved.

Good location for river cruises, room was basic but good value for money. Not a great deal to do between the times of the river cruises, but can sit in the restaurant right next to the river and watch the wildlife.

The restaurant needs some updating, very limited choice at breakfast, would have been good to have a bit of fresh fruit. This is the only place near to accommodation to eat. Lunch and dinner was ok, drinks and water very reasonable.

Ideal for boat trips to see the wildlife. JD was a good guide, knew where to find the regular spots for various animals.

There is nothing to do in Sukau apart from the boat trips (and Gomantong cave).

La habitación era cómoda y todo estaba limpio. Teníamos agua caliente, aunque la ducha era típica de estas que al utilizarse se moja todo el baño. Hicimos todos los tours (mañana, tarde, noche) con ellos, nos gustaron mucho y el embarcadero estaba justo enfrente del hotel, así que genial. El restaurante del hotel estaba a pocos metros, era familiar y la comida estaba buenísima. Pudimos hablar con ellos por WhatsApp en todo momento antes de llegar, incluso nos gestionaron el transfer para recogernos en Sandakan y llevarnos al hotel y también nos ayudaron con el transfer a la estación + ticket de bus para nuestra ida a Semporna, que era nuestro próximo destino. La verdad es que nos lo pusieron realmente fácil en ese sentido y estamos muy agradecidos.

En una de las noches que estuvimos allí, la puerta del baño se bloqueó (era de estas con pestillo en el pomo) y no pudimos entrar. Eran las 23:00 y les escribimos por WhatsApp, pero lógicamente no nos respondieron ya que no había atención 24 horas en la recepción. A la mañana siguiente nos dieron la llave del pomo de la puerta, pero vamos, recomendamos no cerrarla en ningún momento porque pasamos unas horas un poco regular. Por otro lado, entre el tour de la mañana, que termina a las 8:00, y el de la tarde, que empieza a las 16:00, hay bastantes horas “muertas” y no hay gran cosa que hacer. Importante sacar dinero en efectivo antes de llegar y comprar agua o lo que sea necesario, ya que no hay ninguna tienda alrededor.

Ci siamo trovati molto bene. La posizione di fronte al fiume è molto suggestiva e comoda per uscire in barca. La stanza era pulita, dotata di ventilatore a soffitto e a/c. I mobili e i sanitari erano recenti e in buone condizioni. Il ristorante "convenzionato" è molto conveniente, il cibo è buono e le porzioni abbondanti. Il menù si limita a vari tipi di mee Goreng e di nasi Goreng ma per qualche giorno può andare bene. Inoltre si mangia con una splendida vista sul fiume. Un altro punto forte di questo Lodge è il personale: HaNa, in reception, è davvero molto abile e solerte, ci ha trovato un passaggio per l'aeroporto all'ultimissimo minuto in seguito ad un mostruoso ritardo dell'autista con il quale avevamo concordato il trasporto. Le guide naturalistiche Jaidi e Mohamed sono molto esperte e appassionate del loro lavoro ed è stato un grande piacere partecipare alle escursioni con loro, siamo riusciti ad avvistare moltissimi animali. Il Sukau Tomanggong è davvero molto autentico e lo consiglierei a chi desiderasse entrare in contatto con il posto piuttosto che andare in un Lodge più costoso e patinato.

Nonostante fosse ben segnalato nell'annuncio, sarebbe preferibile che installassero il WiFi in quanto la rete è molto debole in questa zona. Per introdurre un po' di varietà consiglierei al ristorante di preparare qualche piatto differente con carne/pesce/verdura cotti separatamente dal riso o noodles. Abbiamo sentito un po' di mancanza della frutta.

Dass am Feiertag keine Touren angeboten wurde was uns bei Buchung nicht mitgeteilt wurde. Andere Anbieter haben trotz Feiertag Touren veranstaltet. Außer Touren kann man an diesem Ort leider nichts unternehmen. Ausstattung Badezimmer ist gering. Leichte Geruchsentwicklung im Bad. Es ist sehr einfach gehalten. Was für uns okay war.

Property its in on really nice place close to the river. You can book with them straight the boat and walk cruise. It was an amazing time on the boat cruises, we saw so many animals and the nature is amazing around the river. The food in local restaurant was delicious. And all the staff were really kind and welcoming.
