Sukau Greenview Lodge

An absolutely amazing stay complemented by excellent service and a very friendly, genuine, and kind staff, including the guide. We truly enjoyed our stay. For other travelers – the hotel offers a package that includes pickup in the surrounding area and transport to your next destination or to the airport after your stay. Meals are included, as well as river tours and jungle walks. During our two-week trip around Malaysia and Borneo, this was probably the best experience in terms of accommodation, service, and the overall travel experience.

The only thing that could be improved were the gaps around the entrance door to the room, which were really quite large.

The staff, the activities! We saw the Big 5 plus so much more! Go to the Bat Caves to watch the only accessible bat exit in the world! Rooms are clean and comfortable.

Food was good but hit or miss for a vegan. The staff was wonderful at trying to accommodate us however

Everything! The fact that it included everything, from meals to tours, always with the same small group and guide (we loved Zach, he knows so much and you can tell he loves his job). We saw lots of animals thanks to him. All the staff was lovely, Sam is a great driver and is perfect that the package also includes pick up and drop off to the airport or your next destination. I also appreciate a lot that they accommodated my dietary restrictions. Thanks for everything!

We didn’t get room service in neither of our two nights, I don’t know if it was a mistake or is the hotel policy to skip cleaning in short stays. It wasn’t a big issue for us though

Die Lage war fantastisch direkt am Fluss

Alles war ok

Great activities, our guide Ivy was excellent. Comfortable cabin and good food. Easy access with car, parking available.

Me and my husband visited the Kinabatangan river as part of our honeymoon journey and it was one of the best experience of our stay! The accomodation is located perfectly on the river side, everyone was really nice and welcoming and was working tireless all the time so guests could have a memorable time. We even got a surprise room decoration for our honeymoon :)

Tutto eccezionale. Staff, servizio, organizzazione, pulizia.

Personale accogliente, guide molto esperte e preparate. Camere nuove molto spaziose e funzionali. Posizione perfetta.

All food and tours included in the price- either we missed this whilst booking or it wasn’t mentioned. I couldn’t work out why the cost seemed so expensive but now it makes sense. Lunch and dinner very good Tours very well efficient and well planned Rooms basic but pleasant- good AC

Breakfast not as good as lunch and dinner Shower terrible We opted not to do 2 of the activities, informed them but they still knocked on our door at 6am one morning to wake us up for the activity Rooms very dark Please communicate the schedule of activities and the pick up service from Sandakan in advance

Sehr schön sauber top organisiert und gutes Essen

My room had great AC and was clean. Hot water showers too!

I liked everything but most of all the staff.

Lokalizacja i zagospodarowanie terenu

Ochydne śniadania

Food was good but expensive. Super nice staff

Rooms are old, dark and small, toilet is super old no proper shower, Malaysian style that the floor is a pool. WiFi only in the dining room. Can't recommend even for 1 night

A szállás elhelyezkedése, a személyzet kedvessége, a programok és a program vezetőnk.

Sem szekrény, sem polc, semmi a szálláson.

Sukau Greenview Bed & Breakfast

The river location is nice.

The place really caters heavily for package tourist boating or bussing down from Sandakan, and not independent travelers (we were driving ourselves around Sabah). All meals are buffet only, and must be pre-booked; we arrived just before 'lunch time', and as we hadn't booked (we had no idea), we were told we couldn't have lunch at our own accommodation, and told to go elsewhere. We did manage to find something else, but the options are very limited. On top of this, the price for the buffet meals is quite expensive for what is provided, and when the place is full, it is a real scramble to get food as they don't put a lot out. Additionally, the tours are quite expensive for what they are, and I believe this is also because they mostly deal with package tourists who are given an overall price, and not a breakdown of each thing. Our room was tiny, with no furniture aside from the bed, and the bathroom even smaller.

Excellent staff. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Very well organised. Rooms comfortable and have everything you need. Food good at all mealtimes.

Nothing.

Clean, great location for wildlife spotting, a lovely set up, very friendly staff. Food was great and I loved the set meal times and everyone eating together.

Nothing! It is basic but exactly as you would expect, it’s charming.

Excellent location, friendly staff, good wifi in the restaurant

What an incredible place, you can do multiple river cruises from here all organised on-site. The guides are very knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant area overlooks the river which was lovely. The rooms were basic but had air-con and hot water, so was perfect. The rooms were clean and spacious. The food on-site was very tasty and plentiful, would recommend eating here as there are limited options around the area.

Nothing to dislike.

Nice location by the river, 2km walk into the jungle where you could walk around.

At the reception, an unpleasant receptionist who was late for work and despite the fact that she was selling relatively expensive transport to the bus, she did not know whether it was possible to buy tickets on the bus. The breakfast was eatable, but not very good. Dinner could not be bought individually, but only an expensive buffet. Fortunately, 1 km towards the jungle there is an excellent local restaurant - food about 7 RM.

The boat trips were brilliant

It was grubby, we ran out of water so couldn’t have a shower after a hot trek. When the shower had water there was no pressure. The meals were also inadequate, not enough.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Sukau Greenview Bed & Breakfast. The staff was kind and welcoming, and the room, though worn, was clean. The availability of free parking and the location straight over a river was a big plus. The opportunity to book a river cruise on the spot was great, and the excursion itself was very interesting.

There were a couple of things, which could have been better. Firstly, the staff asked us to relocate to another room late at night due to a room mix-up made by them, which was inconvenient and poorly timed, considering quite some time had passed since our check-in, we had unpacked, and were prepared to sleep, in addition to having an early morning excursion. We ultimately declined to move. Secondly, the breakfast service was somewhat peculiar, as guests were not asked which type of breakfast they preferred. It would have been nice to have the option to try a Malaysian-style breakfast, which was not offered to western-looking guests :)

niets.

Slechte ontvangst personeel. Kortom gee prettig verblijf. Waardeloos!!!

The place was amazing. Very friendly staff and always super good food. Surrounded by pure nature in a small village.

A few more opportunities to relax during the day would be nice.

They offer great activities with a good guide. Diner is great, breakfast ok.

The rooms are really basic, a bit worn out and not so clean.

Helpful staff, very nice river tours organized by the B&B, good breakfast included

one week beautiful stay in greenview. super nice staff, excellent food, and wonderful view on Kinabatangan river.

room in the back of the property are quiet old but the new one are really great

Very knowledgeable guide (having done backpacker b and b cruise and here), location is great and staff super friendly and accommodating.

overall good, nothing particular we didn’t like

The location is great. The accommodation is directly on the riverside where you can join different boat cruises. It's great that Sukau Greenview organizes these cruises as well. We would recommend joining several of them! The food is good and staff is friendly.

When we arrived at 12h (check in time) , they told us that our room wasn't ready yet. 5 minutes later they showed us to our room. However bathroom wasn't very clean and there were a lot of ants.

Room was spot on , food great every day and our guide on trips was brilliant lovely place

The TOURS! Our gude Rex was the best. He was very knowledgeable about the fauna in the area. You could also tell that he loves his job and he has a heart for conservation, especially the forests and the animals in it. He was also very concerned with his guests. We saw a lot of primates (including the Borneo Orangutan), birds, snakes, and a lot of borneo pygmy elephants because of Rex. He really made our three days very special because his competence and passion for his job, and giving a lot of information about the wildlife and forests in Sukao and Kinabatangan River. I highly recommend Rex and Sukao Greenview. It’s the best value for money place in Sukao. 👌👌👌

Maybe a stronger wifi connection

very, very, friendly and helpful staff, nice place, well organized river rides

Very friendly, helpful staff and generous, tasty food. Free tea & coffee available throughout the day.

Room was fairly basic, but clean. The only electrical outlet was badly placed near the foot of the bed. As the right hand side of the bed was only 6 inches from the wall, getting out of bed was tricky enough without the added hazard of having to dodge anything plugged in to charge overnight.

The staff were excellently pleasant, the cafe was clean and strategically located..

The room didn't have a coffee table, a closet , a mirror in the room and the the bathroom was too low than the room..stayed for 5 days and there was no Change of fresh bedsheets, pillow case and was never swept...it would be nice if such convenience are provided for guests staying more than 2 nights.. Tq

The location is great

friendly staff, knowledgeable tour guide, I was there to see animals in the wild and I did.

the sheets could be improved

First- there are NO orangutans or elephants here!!!! I spent nearly 4 days here and saw none! It is because they have cut down nearly all the forest, taking their homes. In their place, they planted palmtree plantations. Guide for boat was not timely when booking extra boat excursions. I had to ask the staff to go get him after we made plans and discussed them several times to have an elephant searching boat tour. I had to wait quite a while for him, wasting time that could’ve been spent on the tour.

Location, common facilities. The room was simple as expected, but the towels were clean. Despite there were some insects (we did not mind) we did not have mosquitos during the night and could sleep well.

The WC was clean but it was not flushing well. The bedsheets should be replaced by new ones.
