Camotes Nook - Budget Beautiful

The place is private, peaceful, and perfect for anyone looking for a relaxing and quiet stay. The staff are attentive, accommodating, and always ready to assist. The serene atmosphere and excellent service made the experience truly enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort, privacy, and a peaceful getaway.

One thing I did not like is that the place is quite secluded, and the road leading to it can be very dark, especially if you are walking at night. It can feel a little inconvenient and uncomfortable without your own transportation. I would recommend renting a motorcycle or motorbike during your stay, as it makes getting around much easier and safer, especially after dark.

The pool and garden were fantastic to spend afternoon at. The location was really good for getting to Santiago where there were bars and restaurants.

There were no drinks at the property even though it said in the welcome book there was.

Everything. Very peacefull place; perfect to have some days of full relax. Mina and Martin are very nice people; always helping you in what you need

Hidden gem in Camotes. Secluded and serene.

Access is not the easiest (yet - an easier road is being built) and the island is not very developed so if you are coming to the island expect to just enjoy the facilities and what it offers. Not a luxurious bed (yet) nor feng shui layout (yet) but sufficient to stay a couple of days. That said, I'd still highly recommend it and would go back in a heartbeat. They do seem committed to improving and maintaining the place well so I'm not surprised if they improve things by the time I visit them again.

undeniably the best place to atay in Camotes. Feels like living in a beachfront Mansion. there's a good beach in front and on the other side, and the place has a garden, idk it's just really good that we don't want to leave the property

we had a minor problem with the shower but all goods cause the housetaker helped us and there's a bucket of water to use as alternative

Ate Mercy and Kuya Oppa - the caretakers were so kind and good to wait for us at the port waiting for almost 2H due to the delay of our fast craft trip from Cebu. The accommodation was exceptional and indeed superbly beautiful with amazing scenery of the outdoor pool, garden and the private beach access. We enjoyed our stay with our cave escapades and nature photography. In addition, there's an ATM just on the highway before entering the villa. Santiago Bay is also a 5 min motorbike ride. They have 2 pet dogs which are really cute and tamed. Thank you for our wonderful stay at your villa - Martin and Mina.

Everything is good, except there is no TV 😞 but I've got a laptop with me so it's fine.

Tout était parfait, la chambre est propre et fonctionnelle, climatisation, douche avec de l’eau chaude, fontaine d’eau potable… La piscine est incroyable avec la vue sur la mer. Le personnel est adorable.

Superbe accueil . Très propre et confortable. Logement très calme. Piscine , plage , restaurants et cafés proches . Eau chaude , climatisation , fontaine à eau et réfrigérateur fonctionnel . Literie et draps de lit et serviettes très propres …… Vraiment un très bon rapport qualité prix. Je recommande fortement après avoir passé un mois et demi dans le pays ….

I had a great time at Mina's house. Without hesitation I was transferred to the nicest room they have, with a big private terrace and nice view. The room is equipped with a water cooler and hot water for coffee. Marcy and her husband were lovely and fulfilled every wish I had. Mina, the owner, helped me out in a embarrassing situation without giving me a bad feeling at all and without asking anything. Thank you again for a great experience staying with the most friendly people.

Nous avons aimé le calme, la gentillesse du personnel et de la propriétaire Mina, la vue depuis la piscine a débordement et du jardin. Les petits déjeuners. La location de scooter sur place Ayant eu le temps de visiter d’autres établissements nous avons la quasi certitude que celui-ci est le plus entretenu de Camotes.

Rien sur l’établissement en lui même mais les deux plages en contrebas sont malheureusement jonchées de déchets plastiques et un cimetière se situe entre les deux baies, la plupart des tombes ont été exhumées mais il reste des cercueils, tombeaux et plaques tombales ce qui nuit au charme de l’endroit

La chambre bien équipée, avec frigo et eau chaude et froide à volonté, le cadre charmant de la maison d’hôtes et du jardin, la jolie piscine avec un magnifique panorama sur la mer, et l’accueil parfait de Mercy et son mari.

Les 2 chemins pour accéder aux restaurants de nuit sont sombres et peu engageants pour une femme seule, mais tout s’est bien passé.

Das Zimmer war sehr komfortabel, heißes Wasser und Kaffee vorhanden. Rollerverleih möglich und ein Abholservice vom Hafen mit dem liebevollen Gefährt von Oppa möglich. Wunderschöner Garten mit Pool. Privater Strandabschnitt. Mercey und Oppa, die Housekeeper sind Herzensmenschen, authentisch und herzlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Die beiden Haushunde haben das Bild abgerundet. Die Lage ist super🙏 Santiago Bay ist fußläufig erreichbar. Dort kann man was Essen, schaut bei D-Spot vorbei, dort wird wie bei Mama gekocht, einfach mit Liebe. Und die Besitzerin hat auch ein riesen Herz für Hunde und Katzen. Neben D-Spot findet man eine kleine Bar. J.P. der Besitzer ist ebenfalls sehr authentisch. Er liebt Metal und spielt in mehreren Bands. Und das wichtigste er hat ein riesen Herz für Tiere. Wer Lust hat Musik zu hören am Wochenende, kann zu Fuß zum Hostel an der Hauptstraße, dort spielt er als Schlagzeuger mit seiner Coverband. Hauptsächlich aber langsame 80er Musik. Wenn wir nochmals auf die Phillipinen reisen, dann wissen wir, wo wir gut aufgehoben sind😉

非常好，特别棒！我的父母亲入住的期间基本上属于独享整个院子、海景和泳池。这里的人都非常的友好，吃饭很方便，走到大马路上就有一家餐厅。整体不是过度开发的商业化的旅游景区，没有扎堆的人，只有安安静静的岁月独好。 Absolutely fantastic, truly wonderful! During my parents' stay, they basically had the entire courtyard, sea view and swimming pool all to themselves. Everyone here is extremely friendly, dining is convenient—there’s a restaurant just a short walk to the main road. Overall, it’s not an overdeveloped commercial tourist spot—no crowds, just quiet and pleasant days.

Our stay at this villa was amazing, i wish we stayed longer! Room was big enough and equipped with everything.. wifi, fridge, ac, fan, shampoo, water, beach towels.. It was really quiet at night and we slept really well. Location is amazing, few steps from a "private" beach, 5mins from a hostel at the main road that serves food, and 6-7 min from the beautiful Santiago beach that has multiple nice restaurants.. It's a really chill and quiet place, great for relaxing. You can rent a scooter from them and it's new and in a really good condition, easy to drive. They also give you helmets. Pool is amazing, we spent hours swimming and looking at the beach.. Also staff is really kind and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and we'll definitely return to this amazing Villa.. the island is really beautiful and not touristy yet. I recommend!! :)

I stayed there for 1 week. The owners and workers are very attentive. If you have any need, they will do their best to help you. Their almost private beach is directly accessible from the garden. The swimming is in front of the sea, the view is amazing.

It's unfortunate and not their fault, but I arrived after a cyclone. The sea did reject some plastic onto the beach. There is only a few shops on the island, bring all you need with you. The owners were nice and told me in advance. (There is a supermarket near the Danao port for the ferry) The air conditioner is a bit noisy but it is efficient to refresh the room.

The small cozy apartment is located in a dream location featuring an amazing tropical garden, a nice and well kept infinity pool and access to a beautiful private beach. The keepers, Mercy and Oppa (who, among other qualities, masters gardening art), are very supportive and provide a prompt answer to every need you might have, so as to make the stay more enjoyable. For a reasonable fee you are picked up and dropped by them at Consuelo Port, you can rent an almost brand new scooter for a trip around, you can have laundry service, and so on.... Perfect solution either for a short stay on the way to other destinations or for a relaxing staycation.

Scenery, service, ambiance and hospitality

Everything was perfect. Beautiful quiet location. Few steps down and you are at a secluded beach spot. Wifi is great, which was very important for remote work.

Nothing, I like everything. Though they only serve breakfast. You have to go out for lunch or dinner.

The Villa and the grounds are beautiful. The room was very clean and had a comfortable bed. The room also has a fan and small air conditioning unit. They provided a water dispenser, which was very thoughtful. The hot shower unit was easy to use. It is amazing to be able to step out the door to sit by the pool or to head down the steps to the secluded beaches below. Mercy and Oppa, both of whom run the place, are great as well. Mercy rented high quality Honda motorbikes to me for 3 days. It is only a 10-minute walk to restaurants at Santiago Bay.

The location is fairly remote, but with a motorbike, it isn’t difficult to reach restaurants or other attractions.

Access to private clear beach, good pool, very friendly and helpful staff. Location close to good restaurants. Definitely would recommend the place and Camotes in general, so calm and beautiful island.

A light next to the bed so I did not have to get out to turn it on and off. More hanging and draw space. Most of my clothing remainedin my suitcase as there was nowhere to put it.

Lovely villa complex with super pool and steps down to a private beach. The housekeeping staff are so friendly, kind and helpful. Nearly new scooters available for hire at the premises. The Camotes islands are really quiet and untouristy, with lots of agriculture and small village communities. The Santiago Bay Resort restaurant does good and cheap food and drinks, and is only 2 minutes away on a scooter

The room was a little cramped, with not much table or hanging space. The aircon was also quite noisy, but the fan only setting wasn’t enough to keep the room cool.

Everything. The owners were so nice and helpful and had the two most amazing dogs! We extended our stay from 2 to 3 night almost right away. The room was clean with a nice bathroom. We even had our own water dispenser in the room. Outdoor area was so beautiful and we spent a lot of our time here. Luckily for us we were the only people here, so we had it all to our self.

The hotel was great as the room had everything I needed.owners were super friendly and helpful as I rented I nice scotter from them.the dogs were nice as well. Nice pool and beautiful view as well,WiFi worked great.

There's no free breakfast but the stay is the best I ever had in Camotes. Thank you. I will be coming back, I felt like I was the only one in the area because that's how peaceful it was.

It is beautiful place with a refreshing and relaxing pool, we swam twice a day everyday. Drinking water supplied in the room as well as instant hot water. Mercy and Oppa the caretakers are so kind and thoughtfull, welcome cold drink was a fantastic and also gave us fresh and sweetest papaya and smoothie. The easy walk to restaurants, shops and bakery is only 5-10 mins away.

The mattress had a better day

A HIDDEN GEM indeed. If you want some rest and relaxation, then this is the place for you. The pool was amazing that extends the lookout to the ocean was so serene and peaceful. Secluded beach below the property to walk in the morning or in the evening is great. A few minutes walk to Santiago beach to dine or to enjoy lowtide walks or swim. But most of all, the caretaker Mercy and her husband were accommodating on our daily needs. I love this place...already planning on booking future stay. Great place!!! AMAZING...

If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay away from the crowd, this is the right place. Villa Camotes has amazing sea views, a very well kept swimming pool and lounges, and lovely hosts. It felt like we had the place to ourselves most of the time! Mercy and Oppa made us feel at home and made us a delicious breakfast to enjoy on the terrace every morning, they are both very attentive and go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. The property has Starlink wifi throughout, including around the pool area. Although the villa is tucked away and not in the centre of the island, you still have a few food options a short walk away. One is the restaurant at the Santiago Bay Garden Resort, only 15 mins away on foot and they do very large portions at really reasonable prices. Another is the Backpacker Hostel, located close by - it takes orders through Facebook and delivers directly to the villa so you can eat at home. If you want to explore the island and drive to the centre, you can rent a scooter directly from the Villa. There is a small beach accessible from the villa, which is very quiet and only used by a few locals who live nearby. The snorkeling off the beach is also very good and we spent hours in the water exploring. The Nook room is on the smaller side but comfortable and very clean. It was great to have a fresh water dispenser for both normal and hot water in the room. The only thing that could use some improvement is the aircon in the room (the air coming out is cold but for some reason that room does not get very cold, so you will need to keep the fan on too). The hosts' dogs, Brownie and Hershey, were very friendly and kept us company during most of our stay!

The sweetest and biggest thanks to the two lovely hosts, Mercy and Oppa. They are just exceptionally sweet and warm and made me feel very welcome.

The accomation is basically a room in a big property with different rooms/houses. We were in a separate room with private bathroom. The room was very clean as well as the rest of the property and the beautiful garden. The pool is just super beautiful and there is a provate access to the best beach in the island! The house keepers (a couple of Filippinos) are super sweet and present if you need anything.

The hotel is indicated as « Mina and Martin house » and not as Camotes Nook, this is why is very difficult to find. Better instructions should be givn up front. The room itself is small and no hot water (probably impossible to find also in other places)
