Great food
A lot of noisy roadworks in the evening - not their fault though
Perfect location and good facilities with parking
Some of the room decor starting to look a little dated
Staff are so friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and the garden is beautiful
Nothing
Such a very characterful property with plenty of charm with an amazing garden and right on the high street of pretty Stockbridge

Olde Worlde pub on the river Test and High Street. Great food and drink options, comfortable room, great staff, excellent breakfast

Great location
The service was very poor during check-in and dinner, especially for the price and that we were hotel guests. Instead, priority seemed to be given to other tables, leaving us having to go to the bar for our drinks and to collect food menus etc. not what I would have expected. The rooms were nice (very hot but we did stay during the heatwave) but again, for the price, I would expect breakfast to be included - when we asked how much we were quoted £5.00 more than the booking.com email stated it would be so we decided to check-out early and went to a lovely cafe a few door down.
Lovely pub, room was excellent and the food was fabulous.
Great bed - superb matress
The room had a previous guests clothes in the wardrobe and rubbish in the bin (including dog food sachets). It felt like the previous people were due back any minute. Very uncomfortable. We told the manager in the morning and he promised he’d look into and get back in touch with us but he never did. Very poor. We left in the morning and never heard from The Greyhound and it’s been weeks now.
The ambience , the location , staff and lovely food .

Old charm
It felt tired and in need to re-decoration. It wasn’t character, you can have character and still seem well looked after. This just felt tired and worn out in places.

I loved the old history of the building and impressed with the comfort of the room, beds and lovely bathroom. The breakfast was outstanding and the customer service by various staff members was 5 star. So grateful you made a special trip just awesome.
I accept the location is on the high street and comfort made up for that 100% . Room 6 still has tree views even with the roof top machine thingy's.
Location was good. Breakfast was very pleasant.
Nice room, friendly staff, great location
Breakfast was ok, not the finest of ingredients, for the price should have been better quality products used
Excellent - beautifully decorated and welcoming staff.

Nourriture de qualité. Le jardin à l'arrière est particulièrement agréable et le personnel très accueillant et souriant, très professionnel.
Character and comfort
No Air-con .
Clean tidy . Staff very nice Lovely decor
No bar you had to walk to a different area were you ordered a drink waiter service .
Breakfast was fantastic...had the full english breakfast which was all made with local produce. Dinner too was fantastic & great wine selection

This is a lovely historic hotel in quaint little town in picturesque location. The terrace restaurant was very pretty and generally the food was good.
The Sunday lunch was generous, but not remarkable.
Everything was wonderful, the room was spacious and very clean. The restaurant is one of our favourites, the food is exceptional and the staff at the Greyhound are extremely kind and friendly.
REALLY EXCELLENT PUB WITH SUPER STAFF.

The menu was fabulous and the food delicious. The staff were amazingly helpful and returned something I left in the room at no extra cost.
I would have loved it if the orange juice was freshly squeezed. I had to get up early but if I had wanted a lie in the cleaners voices on the landing were very loud.
Really pretty pub. Lovely staff. Beautifully decorated room. Very comfortable bed. Very nice bathroom with lovely toiletries. Great breakfast. We loved our stay!
Not a negative but to be aware of, the car park is quite small and was full when we arrived. The town is usually very busy at the weekend and we spent some time driving up and down the high street looking for parking.
Room was small but just fine (room 4). We noticed another bigger and more attractive room across the hall (room 2). Restaurant area nicely decorated and comfortable. Very good breakfast (lots of nice homemade/ high quality continental choices) and enjoyed our dinner, too. Friendly front of house.
Room was noisy, as all rooms sit above the restaurant I suppose this is to be expected. Could do with more attention to detail with cleaning/dusting in rooms and restaurant. (Lamps and some surfaces dusty, bench seat at dinner had crumbs, sticky table) Service at dinner was slow as only one server for a very busy night.
Comfortable and friendly
Clean , friendly, nice breakfast
Bit too noisy as rooms above busy pub. Room was well equipped but small , however accepted its a very old building so limited scope.
Breakfast was delicious and there was a good range. parking is really good. The self access tea & soft drinks was very welcomed. Food was delicious.
The decor is a beautiful but there is some wear and tear to the furnishings. The noise from the bar below was quite noticeable in my room right up to 10pm, and I could hear staff beyond 11.
It was perfectly situated on the high street of Stockbridge with lots of restaurants nearby. It was also right on the River Test with beautiful scenery and walks nearby. The hotel itself had friendly and helpful staff and the food was exceptional. It was our second visit and we will be back again. Great for dogs!
The bed was a little on the small side for us.
The property is on the river Test and the high street so couldn’t be in a better location. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Food was excellent and the room was large with an extremely comfortable bed.

Location and staff
Room size and evening meal. Fantastic beetroot trout and trout croquet starters but very poor prawn and chorizo main. Overcooked, put under a heater possibly. Mille feuille dessert tasted good but pastry dense and stale...hard to break with a fork.
Stunning old building, beautiful bedrooms, comfy bed and lovely staff. Delicious evening meal, with great service and fab ambiance. Delicious breakfast made with the best ingredients and included in the cost of the room, so great value for money.
Everything had been carefully thought out, both in the from and in the bar area. Someone had put a lot of thought ( and experience) into what people need.
We only booked for one night, will be back!
Welcoming staff, who were all very helpful, cosy pub feel, location , with a delightful garden in the river .
Close to the road and a little noisy , bathroom shower front a bit tatty , but this is only minor .
Dinner was excellent Staff brilliant Friendly and professional
Minor issue I don't like plug in perfumed fresheners
Lovely traditional pub. A little noisy at night (until midnight).
Food was excellent
TV in room seemed to be rather dim.
Lovely dinner and breakfast, good location
Rooms a little tired in places.
Excellent place to stay - great rooms and delicious food
The breakfast was the best I have ever had! Lovely room, friendly staff, great location. Fantastic value for money.
Restaurant and food. The staff! Great location and parking
Rooms a little stuffy and warm.
Lovely food, very comfortable room.
Superb staff. The best in Hampshire by far. Can’t wait to return!
Too short a time!
The staff are exceptional and food was amazing. Shame Breakfast wasnt served earlier and the pub was a little noisy in the rooms.
Noise in rooms. Its an old building and this doesnt detract from it's character
Fantastic location, very clean, great food, amazing staff. This was our second visit and I’m sure certainly not the last.
The only problem was the room we had; unfortunately the room was on the ground floor and situated at the front of the property, it was extremely noisy with all the passing traffic; were we’re awake from 5am and couldn’t get back to sleep plus we must have been near the cleaners room because around 6.15am we heard someone cleaning, restocking supplies etc which was unfortunate. When we book next time we will certainly as for a room upstairs as we had none of these problems the first time. I must stress everything else was amazing…
Just such a lovely stay.
The location suited our reason for our visit.
It is not suited for residents. No lounge area and we were asked not to sit at the tables whilst having a drink as they were needed for dinners. On two evenings whilst having to sit at the bar the staff started to clean the pipes through for the beer pumps and mop the floors.. it was 8.30pm! Very unwelcoming …Had to constantly ask for the tea tray in our room to be refilled. Very little effort made to make our 4 night stay feel comfortable.
Great breakfast
A little noisy from the road
Very pleasant staff
Breakfast is a little late most places start earlier
Great Dinner
Requested an earlier breakfast of 0730 but were unable to accomodate
Dinner was great
Requested an earlier breakfast for 0745 but they werent able to accomodate
Location was perfect, room was good but as a building of this age you can hear people downstairs but it was not too bad or too late and we slept very well. Very nice breakfast and great staff also has a car park. Dinner was amazing.
Nothing.
Excellent location, friendly and attentive staff. Food was really good quality, tasty and excellently cooked.
The only thing that let down the trip was the fact that the bedrooms were very hot indeed, but you can't control the weather and we are having a heat wave!
Staff couldnt have been nicer

Great food , great location , comfortable rooms
Love the pub. The staff were very friendly and service was good.
It was very noisy in my bedroom - the walls seemed pretty thin so I could hear conversations in the room next door. and noise from other rooms. My room was at the top of the stairs near a window seat in the corridor - other guests gathered there and talked loudly until late and then again in the morning. I mentioned it to a member of the team n the morning and they said it was unusual.
Beautiful building, and well furnished. Exceptional food and staff very welcoming.
Room was a little hot and was hard to block out the noises from the pub below and the road.

Fab pub and accommodation. Great food.
The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The location is perfect for a stroll around Stockbridge and the large car park is a bonus. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent.
The room was very hot but we just turned the radiator down to a more comfortable temperature
Exceptionally well appointed, comfortable room, friendly staff and a fabulous breakfast.
Nothing.
Location, atmosphere, staff, service.
The room was too hot and I couldn't find how to turn the radiator off. To be fair, I didn't ask for help, so my fault.
The liquorice allsorts were a pleasing touch but a biscuit would have been welcome on our tea tray.
The TV was difficult to start . We had to turn the power off and on at the wall before it would work. (The same problem applied in our friends room). It took us several minutes to work it out.
Simply exquisite with wonderful attention to detail and friendly staff
Excellent food great staff Ben ! good breakfast and amazing bathroom Dog given sausages for breakfast
On the road with noise and only able to open one window as room was so hot. Pointy bed side “table” and room felt small
The restaurant was excellent and the food top notch. The room was very comfortable with a large bed and it was relatively quiet. The breakfast was very good. Car parking was not a problem even though the car park is quite small.
The drinks, particularly the gins, were expensive - the pub across the road was much cheaper - and the staff did tend to disappear from the bar area at times and the younger staff were not engaging. The building is old so ceilings are low and therefore the shower in the bathroom was too low for me.
Comfortable room enjoyable breakfast
The noise from the bar
