The property is nice. The bed was sinking in one of the bedrooms. We had on and off hot water. The kitchen staff was very nice as well as the security guard. The front desk was not very pleasant. They did not go out of their way to say good morning or good evening. Overall it was an okay stay, a little over priced.

I lettini in piscina non sono provvisti di ombrelloni che consiglio di aggiungere. La pulizia della camere e soprattutto del bagno dovrebbe essere migliorata.

we were disappointed with the payment experience. The final price did not match what was shown on Booking, as a different exchange rate was applied. We were also told that we needed to pay in cash to maintain the original price; otherwise, it would cost more. We did not find this clear or entirely honest

The terrace had sun blocking rollershades so you could still enjoy being outside regardless of where the sun was. The hotel was directly across from the beach and within walking distance of all the bars and restaurants. The hotel staff were always friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast was freshly prepared and very good. Our dogs were very welcome on the property which made for a very relaxing vacation for us. Surprisingly for the DR, the area had very little street noise.
I can't recall anything that I didn't like. Maybe some extra pillows.

You are also walking distance from restaurants, bodega (literally next door), clubs, etc. Breakfast was good with made to order eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes along with the usual fruits, yogurts and pastries. Front desk staff was polite.
We had a hot water issue initially and there were some ants in kitchen...but nothing too major. Not the hotels fault as my spanish is limited...but It was a bit difficult to communicate even with google translate. This is just something to note and brush up on spanish before you go to DR.

We came to Las Terrenas to celebrate new years. It was the worse. Albachiara has terrible facilities. The stove didn’t work. The microwave gave us shocks and we have NO RUNNING WATER for over six hours one day, 2 hours another. It ruined our vacation.

Reviewed Nov 24, 2024I came back to this hotel a second time after 9 years. I stayed here for a week with my husband to kite surf. It is very close to the kite surf beach and schools (walking distance) and also right by the center of town where all the restaurants/bars are. The hotel is beautiful and spacious, nice pool area with bar, the rooms are very spacious and super clean, breakfast is really nice and is served until 11:30 a.m., no mosquitoes... we absolutely loved it and will come here again!
