Clean, comfortable room w/good continental breakfast.
Very clean. Comfortable bed. Great location.
Very clean and friendly staff
The beds were too hard and uncomfortable. The room was too expensive.
It was clean and comfortable
Breakfast was advertised as GOOD but nothing hot very limited
The area where it was located
The smell
So close to everything especially the ferry!
We loved everything & will be staying again!!
el desayuno podria tener huevos revueltos y algunas salchichas
Everything is always good.
Hotel Lydia is one of my hotel go to when in port A, I am always satisfied with the clean rooms and the friendly staff, I also like that it is near the park, when I come with grandkids, I am pretty happy with my stay here when in Port A.
It’s very close to the beach, stores, restaurants and ferry.
The only thing I wish is that the horizon building rooms have wooden floors instead of carpet and if the buildings have a place to wash the sand of feet before entering would be great.
Great place to stay.
Clean, comfortable and great location
NO elevator, No ice machine Switch at door controls all the lights 😬
Loved the cleanliness, the staff, the soft beds and cold air conditioner and the breakfast.
Loved EVERTHING about this place !
Breakfast
I really enjoyed my stay. The room was very cute, comfortable, and well maintained. The cleaning staff were excellent, and the entire property was very clean. The location was also perfect for me, as it was only about two minutes from where I needed to be for business. My only suggestion would be to offer a little more variety with the complimentary breakfast. They did provide bagels, muffins, fruit, yogurt, and cereal, but I felt the breakfast could have included a few more substantial options. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience, and I would definitely consider staying here again.
The breakfast could have more variety
Close to beach and ferry. Comfortable bed and big rooms in deluxe
Small breakfast. Bathroom little dirty dead flies
It was very close to some popular restaurants and convenient stores
Had to ask them to change all the linens to beds, bathroom floor not very clean, the breakfast wasn’t much at all.
Location
Carpet was gross. Paper thin walls. Coffee maker in the room didn't work.
Friendly kitchen and cleaning staff
Room did not have a TV remote; coffee maker was broken and needed to be replaced; no drinking water nor ice available in the entire hotel; no elevator to carry up luggage; room and hotel pictures on Booking did not match my stay; building was old and run down, dirty carpets...cold breakfast with non-nutritional items, high sugar... cheapest of the cheapest. @Booking.com - do the right thing here and reimburse me partially for this false advertised hotel. At over $350/night I ought to expect at least something.
Close to where we needed to be.
Breakfast options. To many carbohydrate options.
Loved Debbie at breakfast. Scott was nice. Chris and Teresa .
Not knowing how to get in doors? Confusing and inconvenient.
The location was great
The room was dirty there was bugs in the room the cleaning staff left our door open after they cleaned it to where anyone could have enter our room. Parking is also limited.
Das angebotene Frühstück war unter üblichem Niveau. Es war auch nicht ausreichend für die Gäste bemessen und es wurde auch nicht aufgefüllt. Es fehlte Butter, Toast und Säfte gab es keine.
Property was fine. “Booking.com” should have their right to do business revoked. When I checked in, the desk clerk told me that if I had called the hotel directly, my stay would’ve been over $80/night cheaper.
We absolutely loved the security around the hotel and the protection to get in the hotel. My family and I felt very comfortable and safe.
Well being there during the Fourth of July weekend and with this heat my grandkids were disappointed there was no pool.
Location. Decor.
AC leaked water all over the carpet. Room smelled bad.
everything went right
Good location.
We stayed in the two story building and it still needs upgrades.
Liked the location, the room was not as cold.
The breakfast needs to be upgraded to more choices. Only had toast, bagels, yogurt, cereal.
Everything was amazing
Nothing not to like.
Great and friendly staff, very clean and spacious rooms a lot bigger than I expected and they look brand new will definitely stay here again in the future.
Nothing
Very nice rooms , friendly staff and clean! Nice short walk to Robert’s park!
Breakfast was lacking. Not very many protein choices. The pastry’s were a bit stale.
The location is great because you can see ships coming in and is right by the ferry. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very kind and helpful.
There were no ice machines available.
Rooms are big sized
For the cost we paid around $300 per night we were expecting it to be 3 star hotel, but it was a disappointment everything was pretty old and falling apart in the deluxe rooms . Basic cold breakfast , might not return here .
Overall, Hotel Lydia was an okay stay, but there were several disappointing aspects of our visit. The cleanliness was acceptable, but the breakfast was not what I expected. It was advertised as breakfast, but it only consisted of cold items and did not feel like a true continental breakfast.
The front desk staff were not very friendly or welcoming. They seemed more focused on rushing guests through check-in rather than providing information about the hotel or making us feel comfortable. Since we stayed in the older facility, it would have been helpful if someone had taken the time to explain the amenities, layout, or any important details about the property. I came to celebrate my child’s birthday, and unfortunately the overall experience felt impersonal. It seemed like nobody really cared about making our stay special or ensuring we felt welcomed. While the hotel was adequate, the customer service left a lot to be desired.
The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. The front desk staff were friendly, understanding, and did their best to assist when I explained the duplicate reservation issue.
My concern is not with Hotel Lydia itself but with the handling of my duplicate reservation through Booking.com and OYO. I requested cancellation of the duplicate room within minutes of booking, but weeks later the issue remains unresolved despite multiple calls and emails. Booking.com continues to state they are waiting for a response while additional payments remain scheduled. I hope this matter is resolved promptly because my experience at the hotel itself was positive.
Clean, neat, friendly staff
Clean / staff is nice.
For this amount of $$ / night, breakfast should be a bit nicer.
Very clean and the room was very comfortable and super clean
I liked everything friendly staff clean room and property. Great location right off the ferry.
Have no complaints
Very clean 🫧, I really did like everything it was my second visit to the hotel. I took my two kids for a father's day weekend. They are both 9 so they are little still but the hotel is very kid friendly and we had a great time.
My room wasn't ready on time, but outside of that the hotel is great.
Muy limpio y cerca del ferry
Limpieza ubicación
Desayuno muy basico
Room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. Bed was very comfortable. We had no problem getting the basics we needed such as fresh towels or room cleaning when needed. Staff accommodated or request for a 1st floor room due to no elevator. Location is great.
No pool or ice machines. Room was pricey considering lack of other amenities such as a pool, ice machines (instead we had to buy ice), and mediocre breakfast items.
Beds were comfortable
Two separate buildings with one of them not having elevator. Wasn’t clear which hotel did or didn’t have elevator. No staff at secondary building. Overpriced for what it is.
The decoration is beautiful , and it’s close to mostly everything right next to the port entrance
The smell going in smelt like humid and construction , went into the room and I tried to put up some small groceries in the fridge but it had mold inside so just decided to keep it In Our cooler .
It was cheap when I booked months in advance.
They tried to cancel my booking after I had paid in full and booked in February, almost leaving us stranded. Rooms were musty, extremely humid, smelled like dogs.
The staff was very friendly and the ease of process.
The floor was sandy when we got to our room
Very clean and great customer service.
Everything was great.
Not much. Parking lot sucks.
Thin walls loud neighbors all night didn’t get any sleep
Beautiful property with great accommodations!
The property was very close to everything. The renovated room was nice. Bartender was great.
The property had a renovated side and older side. The older side which is where we were booked. Smelled of mildew. And the room was not clean. Old glass rings on tables and ceiling fans covered in dust. When I told the front desk she told me she would put me in a renovated room but was gonna charge me to do so. And she was very rude about it. Like I was inconveniencing her or something. She was the manager too. Prolly needs to costumer service classes. And the breakfast, which might I add was not complimentary, was trash. Fruit, juice and some bagels. Go to Whataburger.
Staff was friendly
The ac was dripping a lot of water and the room did not get cold and maybe a better breakfast would be good
Nubia was outstanding and took great care of us
Professionalism, outstanding service
The service, location, and facility were fantastic. Nick at the bar was great. He even invented a drink on the spot. Stop by and ask for the “Nick” next time you’re on the island.
We love Port Aransas and have been visiting for years. We have an electric golf cart and have always registered it, this allows us to bring it with us. We always stay at the same place because they allow us to charge it whenever we need to. When I arrived at Hotel Lydia I asked about the ability to charge our cart and was told that the owners do not allow this. They even have designated golf cart parking but no capability of charging. To us, golf carting is the only way to truly enjoy Port Aransas, so this is a deal breaker and we will not be returning to Hotel Lydia. This one issue aside, it was a great experience.
It was clean and everyone was friendly
Nothing
It was close to all the activities and close to what I needed
It’s close to a relatively busy intersection at times
The breakfast was delicious
My family always loves to stay here but this trip was just a bit different.
We stayed in room 125 and have stayed in this room before with no issues. The first night we could hear a banging on the bedside wall every now and again all night. I called the next morning and the gentleman at the register said it may have been the dryer vents flapping through the storm which was understandable. But the next day we continued to hear it with really no wind or storm happening. Around 11:30pm I got out of bed to go see if I can see where the noise was coming from. The laundry door was locked to I went outside and really couldn’t see anything. I went to the office and some so the the young lady working and advised me that she would check it out. Well the noise continued and we didn’t get much sleep because of it. I never want to stay in room 125 again.
Location
Nothing
Breakfast was good, parking was excellent, daytime clerk very nice, cleaning staff very responsive and nice. Bar upstairs and bartender superb,
our room air conditioner could be looked at, was making clanking noises all night (room 129) daytime clerk very nice , nighttime clerk could use some friendly ness training, I explained in a return email we had a small service dog and I received a response stating we can accommodate that upon arrival but nighttime clerk didn't get memo I guess....
over all the it was excelent!!but;in my opinion breakfast can be little better
breakfast not good
Clean
Love the remodel and balcony overlooking the ferry and marina. The bar and bartender are a great addition, bartender very friendly and offered great service every day we visited
Breakfast could be expanded in the bar in mornings imho. Simple Continental breakfast is good but with remodel and new name, why not improve this small but important feature
Great place to stay
The deposit was a crazy amount
The bartender Nick was cool;got to use the drink tickets the front desk gave us. The first balcony room we stayed in was nice.
My gf said the floor could have been cleaned better, I didn't notice anything. And then the second room we stayed in had a odd smell.
