The Dunraven, Adare

The location. Easy to walk around town. The rooms were large and bed was comfortable. The shower worked well. The dining room, The Maigue, served excellent food. And the breakfast was delicious! There were 2 lounges where we could sit and play cards in.

The location was good but the only redeeming quality was the service and friendliness of Ellen, our waitress at breakfast.

The person at reception was rude. There is mold in the shower, and the floor by the sinks was loud and coming up. The floor was really loud when entering the toilet and did not contribute to a good night's sleep. The linens were worn and furniture mismatched and broken. The room was stuffy and loud off the leisure center so after closing the windows we requested a fan and it helped but it didn't not oscilate. For paying what we thought would be in an upscale hotel, we were very disappointed! Not recommended for the price!

Ein sehr schönes Hotel, mit sehr nettem Personal und einem sehr guten Frühstück. Wir haben - vielleicht typisch deutsch🤭 - nach einer zweiten Bettdecke ( „duvet“ genannt) gefragt, weil es in ganz Irland und Groß Britannien wohl üblich ist, mit einer einzigen, großen zu schlafen. Unser Wunsch wurde sofort erfüllt. Das Bett mit seiner sehr hohen, sehr dicken Matratze hat mir erst etwas Angst eingeflößt, aber es war super bequem und wir haben fantastisch geschlafen. ☺️

Das Frühstück war zwar sehr gut, aber durch das viele Servicepersonal, das viel bediente, entstand etwas Unruhe und Durcheinander. Wir mussten zweimal um etwas mehr Butter bitten, weil immer nur eine kleine Menge gebracht wurde. Vielleicht wäre es sinnvoller, diese am Buffet zu deponieren, damit man sich selbst bedienen kann. Ansonsten war slles prima😊

Mucho ruido de la carretera que tenía mucho tráfico justo delante, instalaciones envejecidas, personal no muy amable, desayuno muy poco variado y café malísimo, cama muy incómoda. Caro.

A surprise extra charge of €50 (refundable) which I was not made aware of when booking. Described by receptionist as a security charge. Room was fully paid for on arrival, as two A.O.Ps we were disappointed to be viewed as a security risk

Our room was located close to the road so early morning road noise was annoying.

It’s in a beautiful village and is an historic hotel, that I have fond memories of visiting with my parents, whilst holidaying, as a young child. It hasn’t changed in many respects The staff were lovely and we had a grand bed, upgraded for us

The bar food was a bit mixed, some was very good, whilst other small plates, disappointed

Our room was on the front of the hotel so, although the room was lovely, the traffic noise was quite loud although it did die down in the night. Apart from that we really enjoyed our short stay.

The pool was a great amenity. The bed was comfortable and the location of the hotel was excellent. What a great stay. I also really enjoyed the breakfast and restaurant. One of The better dinner we had during our two week trip.

Freshly cooked breakfast was fabulous! Also lovely granola with yoghurt and rhubarb were very tasty.

Room was lovely and newly renovated. A rug beside the bed would have made it even cosier. The bed was very high for me - I’m 5 foot 1 - might be tricky for shorter people with any mobility issues. Was very comfy once I managed to get into it!

A lovely historic building in a perfect location—just steps away from the hustle and bustle so quiet at night. If you like modern hotels this is not for you. As in most old hotels in Ireland, no air conditioning—just a fan if you request it. The staff was excellent.

De l'accueil avec le sourire et la prévenance du personnel à aider pour les bagages ou autre, à la chambre et ses équipements, sa vue, ses produits de luxe, son confort...sans oublier le restaurant ! N'hésitez pas! La proximité avec tous ce qu'il faut pour se détendre, faire du shopping, se cultiver...vraiment aucune hésitation ! Petit déjeuner peut être servi en chambre pour 10€ supplémentaires par personne.

Le sans gêne d'hôtes qui à 4h40 passés ont bruyamment manifester leurs émotions dans le couloir, mais ça...l'hôtel n'y peut rien!

The property was very old and dated, and very much in need of an upgrade.

There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the hotel room and also a very bad smell of damp in the room. We were also woken at 4.40 am by very loud arguing in the corridor.

Meget gode senger med dundyne. Et stort og romslig bad med god avstillingsplass for toalettsaker. Stort, lyst rom med sofa og stoler og utsikt til hagen. Meget god frokost. Vel verdt prisen.

Close to the venue we were attending beds were comfortable room was a decent size and clean

We were attending a wedding at a different Venue and having a long drive to get there we didn't want too go dressed.. So we contacted the hotel twice to see if the could accommodate and earlier check in @ 1pm. They informed us the would try but couldn't guarantee which was fine.. We arrived no room was available at all in the hotel till after 3.30. So we had to get changed in the toilet.. Yesterday morning and 10.10am house keeping knock and look to get my room for cleaning. .. My point being there wasn't a single room in the whole hotel available to us...

Wir waren nur eine Nacht auf einem Zwischenstopp. Das Dorfbild im Reiseführer verspricht mehr als es letztendlich ist.

Leider gibt es in der Unterkunft keine Klimaanlage, weshalb es notwendig ist, die Fenster nachts offen zu lassen. Das das Hotel direkt an der örtlichen Durchgangsstraße liegt, ist es sehr laut. Auch sind Strahler an der Außenseite des Hotels angebracht, die dann das Zimmer durch das geöffnete Fenster fast taghell erleuchten.

Breakfast was very poor.Spicy sausages 1st thing in the morning - not to everyone taste; scrambled eggs - watery and tepid ; no bacon - boiled ham should not be the subsitute ; toaster did not toast. All in all this spoiled a lovely break.

Check in and check out were both handled very politely and efficiently and we were given an upgrade which was lovely. Breakfast was superb both delicious and plentiful. Staff friendly although they need organising more efficiently as we had to wait ages for a second pot of coffee. The bar was friendly and staff helpful and polite. The grounds are extensive and well kept.

At breakfast I noticed the staff were not assigned to particular tables so many walked past us without noticing our requests for help. There didn’t seem to be a proper system for serving the tables which would save time and provide better service.

Ontbijt was voortreffelijk. Niet aan te tippen 10+. Personeel in het restaurant was over het algemeen erg jong en onervaren wat afdeed van de kwaliteit van het overal ervaring. Dit is niet te wijten aan het jong personeel want iedereen deed zijn best en was ontzettend vriendelijk. Als de leidinggevende van het restaurant meer aandacht zou hebben voor opleiding, zou zowel de klant als het hotel er profijt van hebben. De kamer was ruim zoals verwacht maar niet wat er verkocht was via Booking.com. 2 grote 2 persoons bedden in een kamer bedoeld voor twee personen is overbodig en onprettig. Hierdoor was er geen rustige zitruimte die we wel hadden verwacht en was wel in de omschrijving van de boeking. Na te hebben nagevraagd blijkt dit meer voor te komen en is een aandachtspunt voor management en hun afspraken met derde partijen die de kamers verkopen. Buiten deze punten , die alleen als aandachtspunten bedoeld zijn, is dit een super hotel met zeer vriendelijk personeel.

Don’t miss the sign for the parking if you are coming from the north - there is a large car park at the back!
