Liked the property
We booked bed and breakfast. In the morning no breakfast was provided. No staff on the premises. When we wrote advised we would be refunded for our breakfast but this never arrived!!
Facilities were excellent. Very good hearty breakfast were also excellent as well.lovely homely feeling also.
Nothing
Staff we very helpful, and the pub and room was very nice
Staff were very welcoming
Staff were lovely. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. Room was ver clean
Excellent breakfast which set us up for the day. Friendly and relaxed
Green emergency light in room when dark. Unfotunately we failed to find out beforehand that no food is served on the evening we were there but they let us buy in delicious local fish and chips and provided plates and cutlery for us to eat in the dining room so no problem!
Excellent room and en-suite, newly refurbished. Brilliant staff.
Meals were disappointing, lunch and breakfast were both overcooked.
Ottimo appoggio
Tutto in ordine
Good value and helpful staff.
No blind in bathroom so early morning daylight flooded in. Breakfast, although good, was requested for 8.30 but wasn't served until 8.55-09.00 meaning we were rushed as we wanted to get away by 9.20.
Great location to access Cotswold region. Clean, fresh, comfortable accomodation. Very friendly accomodating staff. Lovely traditional pub
Nothing
The room was large and clean.
The room was facing the main road and the traffic noise from 4am kept us awake. Booked breakfast for 8.30 came down and no one to be seen until 8.50 breakfast was served at 9.20!!!. Second morning wasn’t a lot better. Never had a deep fried breakfast before not the best!!!
Location was ideal for our requirement.

Unfortunately the place needs money spent no mirror in bedroom NR a plug breakfast was very over cooked and wasn't enjoyable no offer of cereal or fruit juice it's a shame as the lady was doing her best
Proximity to my friends
we did not have breakfast as we went out early as to make the most of our stay in the area very good parking and so help full when we arrived
it all went well
Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, nice bar etc.Excellent full English breakfast.
Lovely pub, great rooms, lovely hosts
Breakfast was super. Staff always ready to hhelp

Ci ero già stato e sono tornato volentieri. Camera molto comoda, letto e cuscini come a casa. Doccia perfetta. Staff gentilissimo, colazione squisita
Room was clean. Shower was good Bed comfortable
Restaurant wasn't open which was disappointing so had to use car to go into Tewksbury which luckily is only 10 minute drive.
Great stay here really comfortable and clean great value for the money. The food menu was limited however the food was really nice. If I had to give feedback for improvement the only one thing I would change is breakfast time, 8am most people have to be gone for work
Honest , clean accommodation with helpful staff and a fine breakfast.
Nothing as I like supporting pubs .
Staff very friendly, welcoming, room clean
Could do with some form of air conditioning or a fan, very warm in the room.
Luke , the check in and bar tender was helpful and efficient Comfy Queen bed Tea coffee biscuits and water in room Full English breakfast included was cooked by friendly manager Bus stop to Tewksbury and Evesham only minutes walk away Dinner menu was very limited but what we ordered was fine especially the ham off the bone sandwich
We were there during a heatwave with no air con or fan so sweltered in 35-40 C with room feeling even hotter
Very helpful and cheery staff. This quaint pub has a nice courtyard beer garden, in a pretty area. Quite, clean/nice/functional rooms. We got there too late and left too early to try the food. Large carpark. Highly recommended.
I enjoyed my breakfast fussy wife didn’t.Lovely pub with an outside area which was needed during a heatwave. Choice of beers was very good and at a decent price. Not to far from the M5 as we we’re travelling down to Devon and it’s about halfway for us.Good sized room with walk in shower and toiletries very warm room but it was in the middle of some very hot weather.
Not much choice on the evening menu so we had Scampi and chips which was not very good.Booked a quiet room and had the ducting from the kitchen outside our room which stopped at 23.00
Food was excellent , on plates that were hot .
Breakfast was good though an hour late as the cook didn,t hear the alarm .
Nice area, lovely atmosphere and well kept. Tea & Coffee were readily available (with biscuits & bottles of water). Tv connected to pub internet so could watch shows and have background noise. Room was cool and not too noisy.
Friendly staff
Bedroom very small, too small to be comfortable for two adults Peculiar noisy system for toilet waste disposal very noisy and unpleasant
Quite satisfying! Location perfect, for wedding in local church. Lyn and the staff were very welcoming, helpful, friendly and anxious to please. We would certainly stay here again if in the area.
Nothing
Location and very comfortable room. Welcoming and helpful staff
In the heatwave so stifling hot! Had to ask for a fan and chilled water. Staff did what they could to keep the building aired. Very basic menu and food
Nice village pub in a quiet setting. Spacious room and good shower.
Good friendly atmosphere Great pub with good parking to the rear Great breakfast 😋 Will stay there again and definitely pass the rayol oak name on to my work colleagues as a place to stay Not to far from the m5 Nice and easy to find Thank you jon&mia 😊
Shame they were not doing evening meal the evening we stayed the food looked nice in the pictures online But good chippy up the road
Great location. Plenty of parking and quiet at night. Clean and tidy room.
For the price one could not argue
Lovely, large room. Friendly staff. Nice, clean and comfortable. See birds nesting from the rooms window
May be a little out of the way if you don't have a car.
Nice country pub, good atmosphere, friendly staff.
Noise from downstairs in the bar, quite loud.
Nobody showed up to prepare or serve breakfast !
room is a great size, both bathroom & bedroom were bright and cleaned to a high standard, comfy bed & brewing facilities to top off the room.
nothing to dislike
great location . Friendly staff - would go again.
Really like staying at a pub, you can have a meal and drink without having to drive afterwards. It also beats booking a night at Premier Inn by a mile.
Maybe a larger menu but the choice was adequate and really nice.
We have stayed here before: it's a good stop off on the way to the south coast ferry ports. Spacious room at the front of the pub. Very clean. Good parking to the rear with plenty of CCTV coverage. No food/kitchen on a Tuesday but there is a chip shop within walking distance and we could eat our carry-out in the pub.
Lots of road noise so not ideal if you are a light sleeper.
Lovely spacious bedroom with comfy beds. Good shower. Tea and coffee facilities.
We paid for bed and breakfast but no one turned up to make it for us although on arrival we had to say what we would like and what time. We ordered for 8.30and hung around till 9.30. I telephoned the hotel later the reply was oh dear we will return your money but no apology. Evening meal very basic menu ordered ham egg and chips. No ham available so offered sausages which were poor quality.
cleanliness top class great value for money
nothing all good
Clean and tidy. Plenty of parking spaces.
Check it was over 3 hours late. Too expensive. Check out is too early.
Everything from when we walked through the door to when we left, we were looked after staff exceptional and food was amazing aswell, considering I’m quite fussy with my breakfast everything was cooked to what I asked.
That we didn’t stay longer - no faults what’s so ever
Amazingly clean room, loads of nice extras (toiletries etc)
Only negative was the mattresses wanted to dump us on the floor! Lol
Excellent accommodation friendly staff and very comfortable stay very clean lovely pub
Great breakfast thanks. Nice village, would like to spend more time looking round, maybe next time. Friendly hostess and friendly locals enjoying a social time in the bar.
Friendly reception on arrival but downhill after that
No food available on Saturday evening despite it being advertised as open for food. Cook had gone to a wedding that day. This had not been explained despite the fact that in speaking to them earlier in the week I had said that we planned to eat with them. Breakfast ordered for 8.45 but no one in the pub when we came down for breakfast. A table was laid but no one around. Waited until 09.10 and then left and found a Starbucks nearby. They have an email on their facebook page but no one replies. I gave them the opportunity to explain/apologise before writing this review but no response. Beware!
Heat
I've stayed here before so knew what to expect. I had a nice meal in the evening. Quiet room and comfortable. Good location for breaking up my long journey.
Village pub which is clearly centre of the community. Outside of the pub is very rundown but inside the bedrooms were clean and fresh. Tea/coffee facilities provided. Very friendly staff. Good value beer in the pub. Bar area dog friendly
Whist the pub says it’s dog friendly; this doesn’t extend to the rooms sadly; apparently in case other people are allergic to them (in which case you couldn’t go in the pub full stop as dogs allowed there). Very limited food menu in the pub and the (only non-frozen option) of ham was not available. Instant coffee at breakfast.
good
Food was excellent, staff were very helpful and the accomodation was beautiful and spacious
Nothing
Handy location for us. Pleasant staff.
The bar didn’t close until 1pm and customers were very noisy so we couldn’t get to sleep. The room was exceptionally hot and we were unable to adjust temperature or open window. The bed had a slightly strange odour. We were informed no breakfast was available when we arrived.
Stay was good
Was charge 2 times for the stay, still trying to get my money back, also at the time there was no food there
Friendly staff. Clean room. Tasty food.

Friendly staff. Clean room.
Doesn’t apply.
Very comfortable bed and large shower.
Comfortable and quaint. Traditional Warm and welcoming Located in a beautiful village
Menu with limited choice
We stayed at the Royal Oak for one night while attending the Cheltenham races, and we had a great experience. The staff were very friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-kept, which made our stay really enjoyable. Overall, we were very happy with the stay and would definitely consider coming back again
Lynn and her staff were excellent- nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very welcome. The breakfast was delicious and hearty. The rest of the food was basic but tasty.
No negatives for us.
The bedroom was very spacious and very clean. We had a comfortable bed with crisp white sheets and towels. There was plenty of tea/coffee etc.
Nothing really not to like!
It was a friendly pub. The bar food was good.
I chose the pub for its location and good breakfast reviews. However when I arrived I was told no breakfast would be available and by then it was too late to make alternative accomodation arrangements.
Really comfortable room, great shower. Lovely staff.
Noise from the bar (but to be expected) and breakfast system a little confusing, it does need to be prebooked, despite the website saying it’s available at the venue.
the venue was nice
there was no heating it was freezing
The staff, dinner, breakfast was really good the best we have had so far
The bathroom was tiny and the bed not that comfortable but comfortable enough, everything else was brilliant
No food on the day we arrived. The chef's day off. We were not informed of this until we got there and had to go to a another Pub or have take-away fish & chips.
Lyn is a lovely hostess. She was very attentive and took a great care for us.

They double booked me and had to find somewhere else at higher cost
Excellent location that was really easy to get to. The staff were wonderful and very friendly.
A great location, quiet village. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. There were plenty of teas and coffees in the room. Once checked in we had keys that gave us direct access to the room without going through the bar. We didn't spend any time in the bar, but it was well stocked and had a good selection of good beers - I did take 1 pint up to the room and it tasted really good
Not a dislike, just something to be aware of - the rooms have a fan heater. We got back at 2am on a really cold night and the room was cold, as we didn't want to leave the heater on overnight. Switching on for 10 minutes took the chill off the room and we like to sleep in a cooler bedroom anyway. In the morning I switched the heater on and pointed out into the bathroom and snuggled back under the duvet for 20 mins!
Everything, the staff were friends as were the locals
Nothing
Room was large, comfortable and fine
Heating did not work but an electric fan heater was provided. Booking.com said breakfast was included but it wasn’t
Good location,price and nice staff.
Road noise, radiator noises, smoke alarm light too bright
The awful smell from the drains kept me awake all night. No discount was even offered
Good location reasonably close to M5
Toilet seat loose. Bedroom radiator did not heat up probably needed bleeding.
