This is a place you book once in a lifetime. The owners are some of the kindest people you will ever meet. They provide you with everything you need, whether you want to try local food or some fresh fruit, an idea on what to visit for the next day or even if you are a bit sick. They are cleaning the apartment every day, they refill the fridge and cook the best breakfast. But most importantly, you feel how warm their heart is when doing it. They feel like your family and you will most certainly want to come back here. We came to Sao Miguel for its waterfalls, lakes and hydrangeas, but we found wonderful people: Joao and his family

João was an amazing host—incredibly kind, caring, and helpful. The breakfasts were great, and João took care of everything we needed. We will definitely be back! Thank you for everything, João!

Very good plentiful breakfast Good Location

Joao was an amazing host, very friendly and helpful. Everything was just as we needed after a late arrival. The cooked breakfast was excellent too and served early due to an early flight out the next day. Highly recommended.

Top class apartment and one of the best hosts I've ever met. João thought of everything! He prepared the apartment with a lot of provisions including food, drinks, snacks and toiletries, whatever we needed for our stay, and he gave us such a warm welcome in person and a warm send-off together with his son. The apartment was very clean, tidy and comfortable, full of beautiful art. The area is very nice and convenient. João kept topping up the provisions and cleaned the apartment every day! The breakfast was so delicious and plentiful, especially the dessert and fresh pineapples. The communication from João was great and he was happy to be flexible. Overall it was better than you'd get from five-star hotels. We were super impressed and would highly recommend Casa do Calço.

Der Vermieter hat uns jeden Morgen das Frühstück gebracht. Es war abwechslungsreich und sehr gut. Außerdem war der Vermieter sehr freundlich, er hat uns täglich zu unserem Kurs gefahren, hat uns die Insel gezeigt und uns zum Schluss sogar zum Flughafen gefahren. Besser geht es meiner Meinung nach nicht.

Vše bylo naprosto perfektní! Ubytování kousek od letiště, možnost zaparkování hned u domu, vše čisté, výborně vybavené, snídaně vynikající … a naprosto fantastický pan majitel. Usměvavý, nápomocný, se spoustou tipů a doporučení, co na Azorech navštívit. Cítili jsme se jako doma 🙂.

Tenemos que agradecer mucho a Joâo su ayuda, predisposición y todas sus recomendaciones y detalles. Es un anfitrión excelente. La casa está muy bien, limpia, es como en las fotos. Tiene 2 dormitorios grandes con su cuarto de baño completo y una habitación pequeña con 2 camas para los niños. La cocina es escasa pero para nosotros que solo cenamos ensaladas está bien. La ubicación de la vivienda es perfecta para explorar la isla, en seguida tienes una carretera de circulación cerca para ir al norte, al este o al oeste. La terraza es ideal para tomar el fresco por la tarde, la temperatura de la isla es muy agradable para nosotros que venimos de una zona en la que hace mucho calor en verano, ese fresquito en la terraza es de agradecer.

El alojamiento estaba muy bien ubicado, zona tranquila con todo tipo de servicios cerca. A 10 min del centro de Ponta Delgada. Lo mejor de la estancia es su anfitrión João, nos cuidó cada día, muy atento en todo momento. Un servicio de desayuno y limpieza diario. Es perfecto para disfrutar unos días de una isla maravillosa y sentirte en tu hogar. Es un alojamiento muy amplio y luminoso, ha superado nuestras expectativas. Volveremos sin ninguna duda! 100% recomendable para disfrutar en familia en pareja o incluso con amigos.

Estupendo el alojamiento, amplio, con todas las comodidades, completo y al día. La localización es perfecta para recorrer la isla en coche. El entorno es tranquilo, una urbanización familiar, fácil aparcamiento a la puerta, bien comunicado y con supermercados cerca. Mención aparte para Joao, el anfitrion, que te recibe con los brazos abiertos, detallista, amable y siempre atento a hacer que la estancia en la isla sea aún más agradable.

The host João was incredibly welcoming, we had to book in quite last minute due to a plane cancellation at the airport but even so he had everything ready for us upon our arrival, him and his family were so friendly and helpful, provided breakfast and a fridge full of food for us, plus organised a taxi for us back to the airport the next morning, the only thing we weren’t happy with is that we couldn’t stay longer, a brilliant stay!

Joao è di un'accoglienza unica. La casa è dotata di tutti i comfort. Il frigorifero era pieno di tutto ciò che ti occorreva per la colazione e non solo. Ottima posizione per visitare l'isola

Da amabilidade, proximidade e profissionalismo no contacto diário: deram-nos pequeno almoço todos os dias e não estava incluído no contrato da estadia. Ajudaram- nos nos percursos e locais a visitar, sempre com simpatia e carinho.

John was amazing! He warmly greeted us and made sure we were comfortable with the accommodations. He went well above our expectations with his hospitality!!! I highly recommend staying here!!

Such a wonderful welcome from the owner. Kindeness and availability of Joao turned our journey into a real success. Precious pieces of advices made our daily choices of destinations so easier. Breakfasts were delicious. Bedrooms are large, perfectly clean and nicely furnished, beds are very confortable, and all the kitchen equipements work fine, not to mention the giant flat TV screen. The area round is quiet, with a nice view from the terrasse. We highly recommand the place and the man. While leaving, we left an electronic device in the bedroom. It was sent back to us in France a few days later ! How could we consider for one second any other place to stay for our next trip ! Again, many thanks !

Lo que más nos gusto fue Joao ( el anfitrión ) gran embajador de la isla, con un montón de recomendaciones diarias para hacer planes. Es una persona muy generosa, gran desayuno y deja un pequeño obsequio de bienvenida, a parte de dejar imprescindibles como aceite, tés, café, agua… El alojamiento está fenomenal , nos sentimos como en casa, el barrio es súper tranquilo.

The whole place was set up really well and the hosts were very generous. There is plenty of parking space available for multiple cars.

I booked the entire place for myself (out of an emergency) and I only used 1 out of the 3 rooms. I really liked the property and I wish there was a way to book less rooms.

The property owner was already waiting for and help to carry my luggage to the room Very pleasant people ready to help in any need! Went shopping for as my plain was late and I needed some 🍌, The room is clean very pleasant with all neede to be comfortable!

I didn’t like the fact that there a long flight of stairs to climb in order to get to the room on second floor! That the only reason I give it the 9. For those people who like stairs this is perfect! Just be aware of it!

The host was amazing! He picked us up from the airport and dropped us off. He was an amazing tour guide and a friendly person. He was very welcoming and made sure we were all taken care off. We couldn't have asked for a better host! the apartment was clean and it is decorated so cute cute; it makes you feel home. Everything was cleaned and having an air conditioner in two bedrooms and the living room was a nice thing to have. The location isn't bad as well. You would definitely need a car but if you like to walk, it takes about 30 minutes walking to get to Downton. There is a small convenience store and it is a two minute walk. The hosts gave us some traditional bread and sweets from Azores. There were also coffee cups available for us as well as butter and milk. We enjoyed our stay in Azores.

It was all great and we can't complain. The only thing is the price. I found it a little expensive for the apartment itself. Pricewise is not that great. Other than that, the host and the apartment are perfection.
