Bunks at Rode

The hostel is clean, spacious, the beds are comfortable, the duvet is thick which is great as iy gets cold in Norway. The showers and toilets are clean and there is a supermarket next door. The staff are friendly and welcoming

The kitchen facilities are woefully inadequate. There is no kettle, toaster, hobs or oven. Only a microwave and a small egg cooker. The drinks at the bar onsite are expensive and outside alcohol is prohibited. The social activity at the hostel is minimal. I wouldn't recommend this hostel for people who enjoy socialising and want to partake in hostel social events. Unfortunately you need to pay to store your luggage after you've checked out. I think it should be free.

It’s well connected to the city center, it takes about 20min. by bus no.30 and the bus runs frequently. Easy check in, nice stuff, comfortable clean beds, easy check out.

Heating didn’t work very well in our room, except in the bathroom it was great. But the blankets were fine so it was ok. And it was only short stay so we didn’t really complain on the heating. Room had some strange smell, not sure what it was.

Close to the city center, a shop right downstairs

Would be great if the rooms had a blow dryer and a kettle.

Very easy to go to the center , and around the hostel are many nice bars and restaurants

The staff are really nice, and there is a supermarket just 1min walk, so it's conveniet to prepare your meal or food or snacks. I love the location because I can explore more community cafe,brunch,and bakeries. It is located in a quiet area and it's safe even when I walk back around 3am.

Rooms had enough space for 4 people and beds were comfortable. One bunk bed and one double bed. Kiwi supermarket right next door was very convenient. We even walked to the Oslo Opera House near Oslo Central Station from this accommodation in under two hours (there and back) before taking a taxi to the airport. Check in and out was fast and easy.

Barely enough dishes were provided and our stovetop and hood fan of didn't work. We had to borrow a kettle from the front desk because it didn't work either. Fridge was small but we didn't have much to refrigerate.

Good location. Clean. The grocery next door is very convenient. The daily activities are appreciated.

Das Zimmer war sauber und geräumig. Direkt beim Hotel-Eingang befindet sich ein Kiwi-Supermarkt. In der Nähe gibt es Bus- und Straßenbahn-Haltestellen. Oslo - Sentralstasjon ist nicht weit entfernt : entweder zu Fuß oder mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln (schnell) zu erreichen.

Everything. Great staff, the location is good, activities everyday, the facilities are nice.

The bathroom is outside the rooms and in front of the bar, kitchen and common areas so it sometimes felt not so private when going during the night or just getting out of a shower

Amazingly clean and spacious. Great renovation of an older 60's style building. Well connected to public transport and easy to get around. Considering it's a backpackers it was insanely quiet. The guests were polite and decent. The supermarket downstairs is a true bonus. I loved the comfy beds, cool retro lifts (lots of them too), amazing city view roof terrace, lots of stylish touches and great cooking kitchen. Beautiful view out to the treetops from our windows. I love Norway.

There is no TV in the room which didn't worry us. The bedside tables are stylish but teeny tiny. Honestly there were so many good aspects to our stay that my criticisms are really nothing.

Very nice Hostel. Clean private room for us, yet we shared the lounge, which was quite large. Bus stops were right around the corner and if you drive, there is a parking garage adjacent.

Kinda shady section of town. True Grunerlokka was about a 10 minute walk.

The staffs were friendly and helpful. Value for money. Clean tidy modern facilities. Very well organized hostel, with automatic entrance with card everywhere even for opening the locker.

La ubicacion es muy buena para poder hacer las excursiones basicas en la ciudad. El kiwi para comprar fue estupendo. La habitacion estaba limpia, las camas eran comodas, había hueco de almacenamiento, el agua de la ducha caliente. La temperatura en la habitacion bien y aislamiento acustico, los huespedes en general silenciosos. La cocina comun solucionaba algunas cosas, estaba relativamente recogida. Las vistas desde la azotea un 10!

Echamos en falta algunos utiles de cocina, como algun tostador o una vitro, pero entiendo q en un hotel tan grande es complicado.

Très propre et confortable. Rien a dire j’ai passé un super séjour. Pensez a prendre des bouchons anti bruit , il y en a qui ronflent.

Peut être un petite table retractable dans le lit pour pouvoir poser son téléphone et ses affaires pour la nuit.

The doors to the dorms are very loud! My bed was next to the door and the constant opening and closing of the door meant I had terrible sleep.

La verdad es que para ser un hostel me sorprendío, muy estilo industrial de los países del este, pero la verdad es que muy amplia la habitación con baño privado (es lo que habíamos contratado), las camas comodísimas, las ventanas aislaban muy bien, debido a la temperatura que hacia fuera, aún siendo primeros de septiembre. La instalaciones también muy bien, amplios pasillos enmoquetados, las salas comunes limpias y tranquilas. Seguramente volveremos a repetir en otros hostels de otros países debido a la buena experiencia de este.

No hablan Español, pero bueno es de esperar, en ninguna de las casas que hemos estado en toda la semana lo hacían, pero en inglés nos hemos entendido perfectamente. La verdad es que poco de lo que quejarme.
