This is so far the best place we have stayed in our whole trip in Switzerland. From Zurich, Lucerne, Interlaken and Geneva. We stayed in a “river room” which is located 5 min away from the center. Property is gorgeous, modern and infront of the river. Away from the noise but not that far. Transport from and to the property is included. Clean, smells good, and the best part is sauna/spa included! This place has class and will definitely be back again to stay!

De backstage river room is prachtig. Groot genoeg voor twee personen. Het bed ligt heerlijk. Terras voor de kamer is fantastisch. Uitzicht op de rivier. Die binnen nauwelijks te horen is. Wanneer je op straat gaat staan voor de kamer heb je vrij zicht op de Matterhorn. De glacier paradise bahn ligt op vier min loopafstand. Je loopt in tien minuten het bruisende centrum in. Ga ook naar Pub Papperla ( over de rivier ) super eten en de beste Amaretto sour. Ons verblijf in Zermatt was fantastisch en dat kwam mede door deze prachtige Luxury loft. Daniel erg bedankt voor je service en gastvrijheid. We komen zeker een keer terug,

The location and the staffs

The location of the property is pretty good. It is close to the main lifts, a bit away from the busiest part of town, but close enough to be easily connected.

The stay was overall good, but one aspect of the room made our experience quite uncomfortable. The toilet is right next to the bed, closed by a glass door, which has gaps on all sides. To make things extra inconvenient, the bathroom lacks a window or a mechanical ventilation. Frankly, this can make things very uncomfortable if you are not staying alone. The breakfast which is offered is quite basic and not really worth it. For some reason, although the room had a large terrace and a separate access to that terrace, serving breakfast required a member of the staff to enter directly through the room. This meant that in order for one of us to have breakfast, both of us had to wake up. The breakfast itself was completely average, lacking any choice of protein and consisting mostly of pastries. For that reason, I found the breakfast completely not worth it.

We got a complimentary pickup by electric car from the train station and really received 5 star service, super attentive, especially Carmen. The loft itself is incredible. Over 700 years old, renovated into a beautiful cozy and romantic place. Spa at the main hotel was included and even though we did not have time for it, it looked incredible in our tour, unlike any spa we had ever seen and far beyond a typical hotel spa. Incredible designs everywhere. Very good location.

Lacking a fridge in the cabin, but this is a very minor detail.

Nous avons passé un séjour exceptionnel. L’hôtel, le spa et l’ensemble des installations sont magnifiques, parfaitement entretenus et d’une grande qualité. Mais ce qui a véritablement rendu notre séjour inoubliable, c’est la gentillesse et le professionnalisme de toute l’équipe. Nous avons toujours été accueillis avec le sourire, et chacun s’est montré disponible pour nous aider. Ils ont même eu la gentillesse de nous déposer à différents endroits, notamment à une station de départ pour une randonnée en montagne. Après notre check-out, ils nous ont également permis de continuer à profiter des installations de l’hôtel, un geste très apprécié. Nous souhaitons adresser un remerciement tout particulier à M. Leandro, qui a été exceptionnel tout au long de notre séjour. Sa bienveillance, sa disponibilité et sa gentillesse ont fait toute la différence. C’est une personne remarquable, et nous lui en sommes très reconnaissants. Un immense merci à toute l’équipe pour cette expérience. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !

Carmen was very friendly , competant and easy to talk to, she made sure we got settled although our train was delayed and we had no idea for how long. She lived up to what was offered, ( If aou have any questions or problems please call). we also loved how quiet it was to sleep. Mostly what we liked was the bed wow, it was very comfortable, even the pillows, they were pillows and not just decoration.

The lighting system looked wonderful and i can imargine it would have been beautiful, but we couldnt figure out how it works.

Very good location for the Matterhorn express while 10 minutes walk from the church and center of Zermatt Very nice converted barn feel cosy and warm Staff ( lady) was very very nice

Bathroom is downstairs via a steep stairs . Could not find how to turn on light before being down. Just need to be careful. Also no mini bar in the room . Just of coffee machine ( did not use) and bottle of water.

Host was absolutely lovely, very friendly and provided a great service. Very close to the gondala which was good. Very nicely decorated and extremely comfortable bed.

The room had loud construction noise from works going on!!!! We requested a quiet room. We could ever hear the person outside singing. Walls seemed paper thin. View from the room overlooked a road so there wasn’t privacy unless curtains were drawn. This room is no where near the actual main hotel which was also annoying. Shower wire was broken/coming apart so the hard wire poked you when you used the shower head!!

Wunderbare, erstklassige Unterkunft in bester Lage. Das Design überzeugt mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Und auch ein großes Lob an den Service und das Personal-ich fühlte mich excellent aufgehoben!

We stayed in the Cottage room, which is adjacent to the main chalet. It is a unique property, with a mix of old timber frames and modern internal features. The room is beautifully styled, cosy and very comfortable. Great location - you are a short walk from the main town, and we had access to the great spa facilities in the Backstage Hotel. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

The bathroom could do with underfloor heating as it is very cold.

L’equip que porta el Hotel. Carmen ha estat sempre atenta s les nostra necessitats . El Spa esta molt be.

Il faisait très froid dans la salle de bain, pas de chauffage à part un vieux radiateur d'appoint qui était posé à l'étage que nous avons dû descendre et l'installer tant bien que mal dans la minuscule salle de bain afin que nos pieds ne soient pas gelés et que nos linges puissent secher. (Pas pratique et dangereux) Pas de mini bar ou de petit frigo. Une minuscule fenêtre. Nous devions donc laisser la porte ouverte pour aérer la piece du haut ou nous dormions. Petit déjeuner arrivé en retard et le lendemain il ne nous a pas été demandé l'heure souhaitée. Les photos sur le site ne reflètent absolument pas a la réalité concernant les volumes. La chambre est minuscule. Trop cher pour ce que c'est. Nous venons à Zermatt avec mon compagnon depuis des années. C'est la première fois qu'un hôtel nous déçoit.

Das Cottage ist etwas spezielles. Gut ausgestattet und cooler styl. Carmen ( Host) war immer zur stelle für Wünsche. Top!

Really nice and innovative design

Die Lage ist sehr gut. Ruhig gelegen, am Ende des Dorfes, in der Nähe der Gondelbahn. Das Cottage ist sehr heimelig eingerichtet (Stil Heinz Julen). Viel Privatsphäre. Sehr bequeme Betten. Die Schlüsselübergabe hat problemlos funktioniert. Danke Daniel- er hat uns direkt am Bahnhof abgeholt und beim Cottage alles gezeigt und erklärt. Der Wellnessbereich im Backstage Hotel ist wunderschön- er darf mitbenutzt werden.

Leider waren die Fotos auf booking.com irreführend. Sie zeigen vor allem die Räume des grossen, luxuriösen Nachbarchalets, welches nur wochenweise als ganzes Haus gemietet werden kann. Wenn man nur das Cottage bucht, hat man keinen Zugang zu den andern Räumen. Im Cottage befindet sich das Badezimmer im unteren Stock, was uns nicht bewusst war. Die Treppe ist nicht ganz ungefährlich, vor allem wenn man nachts auf die Toilette muss. Das Badezimmer ist sehr klein und hat wenig Ablageflächen. Vermisst haben wir einen kleinen Kühlschrank im Zimmer.

Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und zur Unterkunft gebracht. Es wurde wirklich an alles gedacht, auch für unseren Hund. Daniel (Manager) machte unseren Aufenthalt unvergesslich und hatte immer einen guten Tipp parat - sei es für Ausflüge oder Restaurantempfehlungen. Sehr zu empfehlen und wir kommen gerne wieder!

Joli chalet, belle terrasse et mobilier sympa.

Le personnel un peu stressant (plusieurs appels pour l'heure de notre arrivée, mauvaise communication avec le taxi à l'arrivée, petit déjeuner déposé en vitesse,...) On a eu l'impression que la personne qui nous a accueillies avait envie de finir son service. Nous avons avisé que le lavabo coule lors de notre check out. Mais apparemment le personnel était au courant mais personne ne nous l'avait dit lors de notre arrivée. Les lavettes utilisées ont été ramassées mais pas remplacées. Les capsules à café n'ont pas été complétées. Nous n'avions plus que 2 capsules le 2 ème jour. Nous avions tout bien préparé nos bagages sur un petit chariot personnel lors du checkout; 2 sacs empilés maintenus par un élastique. Lorsque nous sommes venues les chercher au backstage, ils étaient plus du tout sur le chariot. Dans un des sacs nous avions un Ipad avec sa fourre et Lorsqu'on a défait nos bagages à la maison on a découvert que l'écran est fissuré. Nous avons été déçues du service qui n'est pas digne d'un hôtel de cette renommée.

We loved being able to lay in a super comfy bed and watch the world go by… and in a quiet area… Whilst not in the city centre it is only about a 5-10 minute walk (on flat ground). The green bus runs regularly for free and this will take you to the city centre… (about a 1 minute walk to the bus stop) This property is only a 5 minute walk to the cable car to go to the Matterhorn..

There was no fridge and no suitcase racks so luggage had to be open on the floor…

It was heaven, bed really comfy and great location by the river and walk trails. We loved every minute of it!

Nothing to dislike!

The cottage is very unique but a little tight on space. Bed was comfortable. The main hotel hosts were very nice and helpful as we did not quite follow the process for picking up the keys!

I did not realize during research and booking that the bathroom was on a lower level which was a bit inconvenient for me three months post knee replacement surgery.

Clean, friendly staff. Central in zermatt.

Toilet and bathroom setup is not ideal. No feeling of privacy.

River Chalet was beautiful and private. Easy walk to Matterhorn Gondolas and into town also. We had a fabulous stay.

From the moment we were greeted with a coffee to the moment we collected our bags which were delivered to the train station, we had a fabulous time. Perfect room and location.

Beautifully designed and decorated. Great location.

Lacked a boot room for skis & boots. Coming straight back into the room in wet ski gear was not ideal. Bathroom had no heating, needs heated towel rail.

The room was lovely. The breakfast was amazing and the hotel staff was very helpful.

The room is decorated amazingly. I like it very much. I recommend coming during the snowy season, the view is very beautiful.

Location was fabulous views amazing we absolutely loved everything about our loft soo new clean modern Gorgeous beds was like sleeping on a cloud was a Great experience our private Swiss chalet loft soo spacious my family of 4 really enjoyed the 2 bathrooms upstairs and down bedrooms my Daughters were Thrilled soo comfortable and luxurious!

Location - romantic aspect of not being part of a hotel but felt like a mini home

I am writing to express my disappointment with our recent stay at your chalet in Zermatt. While the room was advertised as a luxurious chalet, it was anything but that—cramped and far from comfortable. From the moment we arrived, the experience was far from what we expected. Upon checking in, we were informed that our luggage would follow us to the room. However, that never happened. We had to wait outside and coordinate with the taxi ourselves, with no one there to assist or welcome us. The next morning, when we inquired about having breakfast accommodated in our chalet, the staff member we spoke with was visibly annoyed and informed us that it was not her responsibility. We were directed to check with the chalet staff, who were actually the same staff members. By the time we returned from our hike later in the day, it was too late to order breakfast in our room, as we were told this had to be done before 3 PM—something we were not informed about earlier. This completely ruined the romantic aspect of our stay. The solution offered, to have breakfast at the hotel 15 minutes away, was unappealing given the subpar service we had already experienced. We certainly did not feel inclined to spend an additional 60 CHF for a breakfast that should have been a simple and enjoyable part of our stay. To add to our dissatisfaction, when we asked for directions for a hike from Zum See, the staff member treated us as if we were ignorant for even asking. Zum See may be a restaurant, but it is also a well-known starting point for hikes, and we would have appreciated a simple, courteous response instead of condescension. This was our first time encountering such poor service in Zermatt, a place we visit regularly. The overall experience was far below our expectations of luxury and hospitality, and it left a sour taste in what was supposed to be a special trip.
