Casas do Sarela by Upper Luxury Housing

Solo estuvimos el primer día, el segundo nos llamaron para decirnos que el apartamento estaba inundado por una rotura de una tubería. Esa noche a las 22:00 tuvimos que buscar un hotel ya que la propiedad no se hizo responsable. Agradecer a booking la devolución del importe íntegro aunque hay cosas que el dinero no puede pagar ya que vernos en la calle a 900 km de casa y a la hora que nos dicen que no pueden solucionar el problema ni reubicarnos. Por nuestra parte no volveremos a contratar nada con Casa do Sarela son muy irresponsables y así no se tratan a los clientes.

Habitación bastante amplia y nueva. La cama muy cómoda. Mucho espacio en los armarios para la ropa y trastos. Tiene secador de pelo y plancha para la ropa. Cafetera, tostadora y vitro para cocinar. Lugar muy tranquilo, no se oyen las demás habitaciones. Está bastante cerca del centro, en 15 minutos llegas a la catedral.

El edificio es muy moderno, pero desde las zonas comunes se pueden ver las habitaciones. Por ejemplo nuestra ventana daba al jardín, y cuando pasaba alguien por ahí te veía dentro de la habitación. Si salíamos a la terracita podíamos ver la habitación de arriba. Obvio que las ventanas se pueden cerrar, pero le quita luminosidad a la habitación. Echamos en falta un escurreplatos para la cocina. Había algunas telarañas en el techo. El bajo de la cortina de ducha y algunas baldosas de la pared de la ducha tenían moho, y se veían marcas de humedad en la pared de la habitación que da al baño. El lavamanos del baño está algo embozado y no tragaba bien.

Die Unterkunft lag nicht im Zentrum Santiagos, sondern im Grünen am Fluss und direkt am Jakobsweg. Wer also Naturliebhaber ist und es gerne etwas ruhiger mag, ist hier gut aufgehoben. Fußläufig liegt die Altstadt etwa 25 Minuten entfernt. Das Appartement war in Unter- und Obergeschoss aufgeteilt. Der untere Raum war der Schlafraum, der Obere diente als wirklich großzügiges Wohnzimmer.

Die Unterkunft leidet unter der Feuchtigkeit, man hatte aber nicht den Eindruck, dass in irgendeiner Weise dagegen angegangen wird. Eine neue Klobürste statt einer bereits Rostigen sollte jede Saison einmal möglich sein!

The location was good.

First and most important, on the booking.com website the property is advertised as a space with lots of green open space that can be used by customers, but most the accommodation actually does not offer any open private space, only windows that open only partially. This is incorrect advertising. It also started with extremely complex contract arrangements (and the necessity to provide a lot of personal details) and the customer has to pay the council tax him/herself. Usually, this service is included, and you pay on arrival. After communication on the booking.com app, the important information regarding the stay) was sent via WhatsApp to the phone number provided. There was no back up provided on the booking.com app where we received the initial confirmation. Unfortunately, the mobile phone where the information was sent to did not work so we did not receive the info until our return to the UK. One day we could not access the property because the access code was not working. Throughout one whole day of our stay in May 2026, there was no staff member available at the reception desk. Every night / morning, I could hear machine noises from below our accommodation. Provisions were poor. We only received one coffee top-up after checking with staff and there was no shower gel available in the bathroom. The accommodation was only cleaned every third day and the public bathroom downstairs was absolutely filthy. There are serious issues regarding fire safety. The fire equipment was last checked 2024 and there is no wayfinding in case of an emergency.

Todo. La ubicación, el diseño del hotel, todos los detalles, la tranquilidad y a la vez a 1km del centro De Santiago de Compostela. Una maravilla. La atención de Víctor y sus recomendaciones fueron excelentes!! No dudaría en regresar

The location is on the outskirts of Santiago de Compostela about a 20 min walk to the centre of the city and on a part of the Camino walk. The property is set on the edge of a river valley which is very picturesque with good views and quite. The property is fairly basic but does have air con and TV a good bathroom and kitchen. One has to be quite mobile to get around the property and there is a steep hill road to go up and down if heading in and out to the city centre or taxi is available.

Some maintenace issues with the taps that were lose in the bathroom and kitchen and the floors were stained but were clean.

El lugar es muy lindo, relajado. El depto es cómodo, tiene todo, muy prolijo.

Es un poco complicado llegar al lugar.

La ubicación y el entorno, emplazamiento espectacular.

La falta de limpieza y mantenimiento de las habitaciones. Ademas de la inclusion de parking privado en los servicios, es un solar en la via publica sin ningun tipo de vigilancia.

Casas do Sarela se ha convertido, sin duda, en uno de nuestros hoteles favoritos. Desde el primer momento supimos que habíamos acertado. El hotel es espectacular y se nota el cariño con el que está cuidado cada detalle. Desde la comunicación antes de la llegada hasta el entorno, la decoración, la limpieza y el descanso, todo ha sido impecable. Es uno de esos lugares con encanto en los que consigues desconectar de verdad y sentirte como en casa. Queremos hacer una mención muy especial a Víctor, el chico que nos atendió durante nuestra estancia. Su amabilidad, cercanía y profesionalidad hicieron que la experiencia fuera aún mejor. Da gusto encontrarse con personas que disfrutan de su trabajo y hacen que te sientas tan bien recibido. Ha sido una estancia de diez en todos los sentidos y nos vamos con la sensación de haber descubierto un lugar muy especial. Sin ninguna duda, volveremos todos los años. Gracias a Víctor y a todo el equipo de Casas do Sarela por hacer nuestra estancia tan especial.

Tiene una arquitectura interesante y está en plena naturaleza.

Es poco accesible, no está especialmente limpio y encontramos bichos en la casa (ciempiés, escarabajos). La cama es pequeña, creo que de 140-150, prefiero una cama de hotel. Estuvimos bien pero no para repetir, especialmente no por el precio que tiene.

Die äußerst gelungene und beeindruckende Architektur, die mit viel Gespür aus einem uralten, steinernen, historischen Objekt eine ruhige Wohlfühloase mitten im Grünen geschaffen hat, hat uns den Aufenthalt in Santiago genießen lassen. Da der Camino direkt vorbeiführt, konnte man auf diesem bequem und in passendem Ambiente ins Zentrum der Stadt gelangen. In dem von uns bewohnten Appartment 11 gefiel uns die Abgeschiedenheit mit dennoch einem Blick ins Grüne. Die Kommunikation via WhatsApp hat immer prompt und gut funktioniert (auch als mein Check-in nicht funktionierte).

Es hat alles gepasst! - Dank der guten schriftlichen und bildlichen Erklärungen der etwas komplizierten Anlage via WhatsApp haben wir uns gut zurecht gefunden!

Unikátní komplex kombinující původní a novou architekturu. Dokonale zarizene interiéry se vším, co potrebujete pro pohodlnou dovolenou včetně dek, polstarku, lampiček. Meli jsme pro rodinu dva různé apartmány, každý originální setup. Cestu do města si kromě auta můžete udělat jako 20 min procházku krásnou lesni cestou kolem reky.

El apartamento es una locura y el entorno espectacular. Muy cómodo, amplio, cuidado al detalle. El chico de la recepción majisimo. En 20 minutos andando estás en la Catedral.

Por decir algo falta algún mueble en el baño y un espejo de cuerpo entero. Y un lavavajillas que por lo menos nuestro apartamento no tenia.

El lugar es muy bonito, estás en el bosque y muy tranquilo. El apartamento también está muy bien, es muy confortable y unas vistas preciosas. La ubicación en 1 KLM y poco es un paseo

La limpieza

Man muss zur Anreise gegen 15:30 Uhr ein mobiles Netz haben. Whatsapp oder Mail - etwas umständlich und kurzfristig - erst dann bekommt man den Zugangscode für das Appartement und das jeweilige seitliche Zugangstor (Gibt zwei, das obere ist ausschließlich für die Villa). Alternativ könnte man das rote Tor unten am Fluss/Brücke händisch aufschieben und mit dem Aufzug einen Stock rauf in die tagsüber besetzte Rezeption gelangen. Es hat eine gemeinsame Waschküche mit 4 Waschmaschinen und man ist in 18-25 Minuten in der Stadtmitte an der Kathedrale. Frühstück 15 Minuten (zu Fuß) in der Caferteria Comedor Fonseca und 25 Minuten tolle mit 6 großen Crevettes bestückte Paella im Restaurant Cotolay. Rotwein "Bilbao" dazu - perfekt. Von den Casas do Sarela lässt sich die Stadt mit geringem Aufwand zu Fuß besuchen. Den Parkplatz anfahren ist eine schmale Angelegenheit, aber zu bewältigen. (Nicht nach oben dann zur Abreise weiterfahren - Feldweg !!!) Ein Schmuckstück an Appartement was Ruhe und Lage anbelangt. Man sollte gut zu Fuß sein und gutes Wetter erwischen. Man ist vollkommen abgekoppelt von der Hektik der Stadtmitte quasi am Waldrand. Gehen Sie ein Stück Jakobsweg von den Casas am Flussufer des Sarela entlang - die typischen Eukalyptusbäume stehen Spalier.

Im Appartment 17 gab es keinen Schlüssel für die Außentür der Küche. Nespresso-Kapsel-Maschine (kleine Capsule), aber keine einzige Kapsel. Bad hat kein zu öffnendes Fenster. Der Abzug allein schafft weder Dampf noch den nach Stunden sich ansammelnden Kanalsationsgeruch. Mit offener Tür und den beiden Klimageräten ist das aber nur eine Momentane Belästigung. Schnell erledigt. Großer TV, wenige kleine Fenster, dafür im Wohnraum nach oben großzügige nordwärts ausgerichtete Gaubenverglasung. Tolle architektonische Lösung. Kleiner absolut privater Leseplatz in der Mittagssonne zwischen Eingangstor und Küchenwintergartenanbau hat nur einen Stuhl. Gepäck vom Parkplatz - Knochenarbeit - besser: Halte unten nach der Brücke am roten Tor - das lässt sich händisch seitlich aufschieben. Dort ein Aufzug - 1 - Reception - 2 - Wohnlevel 1 für 10-17 - dort in der Ecke gegenüber Waschmaschinen wieder Aufzug für nächstes Wohnlevel - also auch so kann man das Gepäck etwas bequemer transportieren - aber es sind beide Stopps oben/unten durchaus laaange Wege - stabile Rollen sind gut!

The cleanliness of these rooms were absolutely unacceptable and unsanitary and there was absolutely no option of having the room re-cleaned. There was hair and dirt everywhere, even on the “clean” towels.

The villa is amazing. Very beautiful and comfortable for all six of us.

Sehr schöne und grosse Ferienwohnung auf 2 Ebenen. Die ganze Anlage ist sehr ruhig gelegen, sodass man sich gut entspannen konnte. Die Anlage ist ein abgeschlossenes Gelände und die Apartments sind in alten Häusermauern, wobei die Apartments top modern eingerichtet sind. Die Beschreibung für den Zugang ist sehr gut, wobei unser Navi Probleme hatte die Strasse zu finden. Die Kathedrale in der Altstadt erreicht man zu Fuss in ca. 20 Minuten, wobei ca. 70 Höhenmeter zu bewältigen sind. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen, lediglich das Doppelbett war uns mit 1,60 Meter zu eng.

1. No funcionaba el aire acondicionado 2. Suciedad: pelos en las toallas limpias, pelos en la cocina, utensilios sucios, suelo de piedra con huellas de barro, mocos, puertas con cosas pegadas…

La cama era muy cómoda, el apartamento estaba totalmente equipado y la zona del jardín era preciosa.

La limpieza es mejorable y aunque estaba cerca del centro, el acceso al apartamento era difícil.

Well equipped and very clean duplex in an interesting development of apartments situated about 20mins walk from the city centre. Parking available as well as laundry facilities. Very quiet.

A little tricky to navigate to with small and steep roads!

Hygiëne, al is de plek nog zo mooi, investeer in goede schoonmaak. Stof in de slaapkamer kan echt niet, ramen met vingerafdrukken, vieze voegen tussen tegeltjes in de badkamer, vloer keuken werd schoon genoemd maar zeker niet zo door ons ervaren

Adorei toda a envolvência do apartamento, calmo e tranquilo mas a 25min a pé do centro histórico de Santiago. A experiência foi óptima, adorei pequenos pormenores como os produtos de limpeza deixados num pacotinho, ou os produtos de casa de banho serem da Rituals (adoravel).

Algumas partes do chão do AP e das paredes estavam manchadas, precisava de um bocadinho mais de manutenção nesse sentido.

La joven que nos atendió el 28 de mayo —estaba en la recepción— fue excelente: muy amable, acogedora y rápida al ayudarme con exactamente lo que necesitaba. Un enorme agradecimiento para ella.

La propreté : une poubelle rouillée, des plaques de cuisson nettoyées à la « va vite », la cuvette des toilettes sale, un sol complètement tâché et mal lavé.

Parkplatz und Außenbereich. Unkomplizierter Check in. Gute Lage ländlich dennoch alles fußläufig bis hin zu kurzstrecke mit Auto (Einkauf). Willkollrnskorb war super! Öl und Essig Salz und Tee sowie Kaffee waren ausreichend vorhanden! Küchenausstatung in Ordnung. Ein kleines Gefrierfach wäre nicht schlecht.

Badezimmer mit innerer Lage ohne vernünftige Abluft. Dazu war es ein sehr liebloses Bad ohne jegliche Möbel sowie Ablagen. Liegt womöglich an dem, dass es ein behindertengerechtes Badezimmer war. Was wir jedoch weder benötigt noch gewollt hätten. Die Sauberkeit lässt etwas zu wünschen übrig alle metallernen Gegenstände weisen Rostflecken auf. Dazu kam noch, dass es sich um eine sehr undichte schwingende Türe handelte, alles war zu hören und zu riechen. Nicht gut! Eine Flasche / Tetrapack Wasser auf dem Zimmer war bereits offen und zur Hälfte leer. Diese haben wir dann nicht genutzt. Ganz klar. Es fehlte uns leider der Korkenzieher. Dieser wurde am nächsten Tag nachgereicht. Was aber dazu führte dass wir am Abend davor leider auf unseren ersehnten Wein verzichten mussten. Anfänglich und wiederkehrend ein aufkommen von Ameisen im Bereich der Küche, war ebenfalls etwas lästig. Der Teppich wirkten von zeit zu zeit als würde er feucht werden. Genau lokalisieren können wir das aber nicht. # Wichtiger Punkt! ** Ruinen sind nicht frei zugänglich und zur Besichtigung!! ** Sind Privat und werden Videoüberwacht, schade dass war eigentlich unser Hauptpunkt, warum wir dieses Hotel ausgewählt haben. #

Eine tolle Hotelanlage in schönster Umgebung. Sehr sehr ruhig, mitten Grünen und fussläufig nach Santiago de Compostela gelegen.

Wir hatten großes Pech mit dem Zimmer! Das Appartement 15 ist ein dunkles Loch mit niedriger Betondecke, fast wie ein Bunker. Es gab keine Aussicht in den Garten und auf die wunderbare Natur ringsrum. Das einzige kleine Fenster zum Garten war zugewachsen. Die große Schiebetür ging zu einer überdeckten Terrasse, die wiederum in den Innenhof der Ruine mündete. Die Anlage war nicht ausgebucht. Man sah keinen Menschen. Das Personal war zwar freundlich und hilfsbereit, wenn es angesprochen wurde, kümmert sich aber ansonsten um nichts. Die Rezeption war nur sporadisch besetzt. Der Self-Check-in war kompliziert.

Origineller Bau, sehr modern und ausgefallen. An einem ruhigen Ort und gut zu Fuss das Zentrum erreichbar.

Sehr schlechte Kommunikation, sehr schwierig über das Internet einzuchecken. Keine Information vorhanden. Wenn schon so grosse Wohnungen, könnte man normal grosse Doppelbetten hinstellen. Unsere Wohnung war leider gar nicht sauber. Sehr feucht und fast etwas schimmelig in der Wohnung. So schade, der Ort könnte ein Juwel sein, aber wird schlecht geführt.

The location is extraordinary. Never seen such a place before! It is so quiet at night, the sky view is splendid and it is nestled into nature. And the birds... ohh the birds! marvellous. It is about 20 min by foot away from the cathedral. But beware, it is uphill. If you come by car, drive down the slopes slowly or otherwise you will be scraping your undercarriage a little at 2 particularly difficult and narrow spots (top of the hill and at the little bridge).

Todo!!! Es súper tranquilo, ideal para desconectar y estar en contacto con la naturaleza. Está muy bien cuidado y limpio, tanto el apartamento como sus instalaciones! La cama súper cómoda. Muy buena comunicación por parte del personal, te dan todas las directrices personalizadas para llegar sin ninguna complicación al apartamento. Sin duda repetiría! 💆🏼‍♀️

Por momentos no había muy buena cobertura… Los desagües estaban algo atascados…

Location very far from the centre Service lazy ! 3 days we booked for and when we arrived most of the shampoo conditioner lotion was empty! So wasn’t checked before ! Never tidied the room or changed towels or toilet paper!!! In 3 day ! We had to ask! Terrible Taps loose ! There is more to the word luxury !!!! Up keep. Service ! Standards! We asked if they can help to book a taxi to the train station! No not possible the answer! So we had to walk 30mins with our bags! Dusty in the room. Toilet seat loose! Coming from hospitality myself then need to hire someone to create standards SOP’s etc .

The design is very beautiful and full of details. One can actually see the fruits of an experienced architect 's mind. Bright, spacious living spaces with enormous windows facing trees. Good lighting. Excellent choice of materials. All details are at top notch. Recommended.

La ubicación, la limpieza de los apartamentos y su diseño. Era espectacular.

Concretamente en nuestro apartamento había un continuo ruido porque se encuentra una máquina al lado, pero creo que es algo particular de ese apartamento.

Es muy moderno y la ubicación muy cercana al centro su eje se necesita coche. Tuvimos un pequeño problema y fueron muy amables tratando de resolverlo muy bien. Tiene todo lo necesario para sentirse como en casa.

Instalaciones preciosas, habitación espaciosa y muy limpia

No había nadie para recibirnos, ante cualquier emergencia o duda no sabes a quien contactar. No está cerca… y el camino no es urbano, es camino similar a trozos del camino De Santiago por lo que desde la catedral hay 25min caminando. Si vienes de peregrino es lo menos recomendable, si vienes en coche es una opción ideal

De las mejores reformas sobre un edificio existente en el que haya estado. Tiene mil detalles hechos a medida, todo muy cuidado, materiales, acabados etc (soy arquitecto). Una gozada encontrar apartamentos tan bien diseñados, que la mayoría de veces es casi imposible encontrar algo realmente bien hecho y diseñado/decorado. Volveremos fijo. Mi enhorabuena al arquitecto Victor Lopez Cotelo

Las almohadas nos resultaron un poco incomodas. Somos de almohadas mas rígidas. Habia bastantes telarañas en la zona de la cocina (entiendo que es dificil de mantenerlo 100% limpio ya que el sitio se encuentra rodeado de bosque).
