Easy to find and good proximity to other towns and Gros Morne NP. Staff wonderful — very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast you can select yourself. Across from waterfront. Nicely decorated room and breakfast area. We thought this was the best place to stay near Gros Morne and would do so again.
A little hard to master the smart heat/ac control….
Very nice room
Modern building, bright and spotlessly clean throughout. Spacious, well appointed room with sea view. Good location. Friendly proprietors and staff.
Nothing to dislike.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was excellent as was breakfast. The general layout is excellent and each room has a beautiful view.
Great location for Gris Morne activities. Walking distance to the Cat Stop Pub and close to other restaurants. Really quiet rooms with a great view. Owners were really helpful.
The hotel hosts were so wonderful! The room was charming, so many thoughtful touches. Great deck to watch the bay from. Fantastic breakfast. So many great suggestions and support for planning the day.
The only suggestion I have is a down puff added to bedding.
It’s a really nice place.
Fantastic guesthouse with stunning views. Mahone Bay is one of the most beautiful places and close to lots of Gros Morne Nationalpark sites. Very comfortable and spacious rooms.
We loved our stay here.
Breakfast was good. We were there during a poweroutage so not a great experience.
i felt it was on the expensive side but was mordern and super clean
In spite of a large area and prolonged hydro outage, Barb and staff went way out of their way to make our stay excellent. The room was perfect.
Sehr freundliches Personal
Lovely location and room. Beakfast was excellent
Very nice staff at the reception, thank you! Good breakfast buffet. Huge room. Foodtruck just over the street.
Walls and floor very thin.
Die Lage, die Unterkunft und das Personal. Hier stimmt einfach alles! Leider waren wir nur zwei Nächte dor, weil unsere Reise weiter ging. Das wäre ein idealer Ort für Erholungsferien.
Everything at this property was beyond our expectation. The breakfast had a good variety to choose from. The suite, breakfast area and reception area were impeccably clean. This is an Owner managed property.
Absolutely beautiful room. Modern and with stellar view of ocean.
The Tides Inn was our last night splurge at the end of a two week visit to Newfoundland/Labrador. A bit more expensive than other places we'd stayed, but well worth it. A wonderful place to stay. Great view out over the inlet from the room - all rooms have the view. Robert (co-owner) was so friendly on reception with great local dinner recommendation. Room was well equipped with everything we needed. Breakfast was lovely. Self service but with a good selection - bacon, sausage, eggs, cereals, toast and pastries.
Nothing. Exceeded our expectations in everything.
Great view. Quiet town. Some cafes and restaurants nearby. All of the major attractions are a short drive away. Keyless entry. Good room size.
There's a microwave in the room, but no plates, bowls, or utensils. No kettle available at the front desk. The couch in the seating area is uncomfortable and needs some pillows.
The host was friendly and helpful. Room was large ,well appointed and exceptionally clean
Breakfast was excellent. The homemade Joe Jam was too good to pass up.
Nothing, this is an amazing place to stay.
Un endroit très agréable pour rester quelques jours et profiter des environs. L’accueil est exceptionnel et le déjeuner est excellent
excellent choice. very good.
Super clean and comfy. Nicely appointed. Friendly owners and a hearty breakfast.
Emplacement calme et paisible, parfait pour décrocher!
Freshly prepared and good choices
Preprete service reception tres bon dejeuner excellent
We enjoyed our stay at Tides Inn tremendously. The owners are wonderful and very helpful to those needing a little advice. The rooms and breakfast were terrific. The views from your private patio are incredible! A short walk to the wharf and beach. I would recommend this Inn to anyone visiting the area.
It sits at the bay front, and every room has a balcony. The rooms are spacious and clean. We especially appreciate that there are two luggage racks in the room.
It would be nice if they furnish the bed with comforter instead of blanket.
Comfortable, clean, great view, welcoming - we were very comfortable - thank you!
Nice view of harbour
Wonderful family run operation. Room is big with great bathroom with tub and shower. King bed and pillows were comfy. Very nice breakfast with good selection of hot and cold items. Also wholesome breads and locally made jams or jellies. Nice quiet area at night. Great scenery in all directions. Great location near to many activities and attractions.
Having to walk outdoors via the back door and around to the front door to enter for breakfast. One morning it was raining and a bit inconvenient. Also originally I thought the property was right on the lake so when you had a balcony, you were looking at the lake. However, the property is on the other side of the road from the lake.
We enjoyed our stay at The Tides Inn. The owners were friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfast was top notch and there was a food truck across the street that served up one of the best lobster rolls. The view is stunning with lots of beaches near by to swim or watch the sunset. We will be back!
Breakfast was perfect. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful with great recommendations.
Beautiful well kept and very clean. Enjoyed our stay
Nothing it was perfect
Lovely place with great hosts/owners.
.
Air conditioning would be an asset
Lovely stay in a beautiful location.
This was a fantastic place to stay, everybody was so welcoming and helpful. We stayed 2 night but wanted to stay longer but they were fully booked. There is a clue there, book up early and stay a day longer :-) Everything looked fresh, clean, new. Some highlights: - the amazing view and balcony! - fresh breakfast to start the day, breads and jams, etc etc - great recommendations to experience Gros Morne National Park the best When we visit Newfoundland again, The Tides Inn will be the first piece in the planning puzzle to be booked.
Nothing it was great
Very clean, well appointed large room. Great hosts with lots of local knowledge. Conveniently located for Gros Morne park. Good hearty breakfast to start each day.
Newer room, it was beautiful. The location is lovely with a stunning view.
Great location for Gros Morne national park
Beautiful smaller property. Great views of a lovely harbour in a quaint town. Nice rooms with balcony and a rear deck with seating. Very clean. Wonderful owners with great recommendations.
We wish they had AC although you do get a fan and can lock the screen door on the balcony. Would have liked daily housekeeping for the price but they did say if we needed anything to call.
The photos do not do it justice. Our room was spotless and very minimally decorated, a nice calm space. Bed was very comfortable and our check in and check out were a breeze! Norris Point is a great resting place for any Gros Morne visitor.
Lovely spot with a beautiful view and very friendly and helpful owners. Coffee is locally roasted and excellent. A nice short hike with great vistas down the street and a few local, very nice restaurants close by. The food truck across the street made the experience next level. Would recommend The Tides Inn and King Lobster for anyone headed to the area.
Great buffet breakfast every morning. Rooms offer a spectacular view.l
Property from design to decorating, the friendly and warm staff. Great place to relax after a day of touring. Lovely village close to all things within Gross Morne yet quiet and tranquil.
Lovely clean place to rest and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Close to 5 star dining and a wonderful hot breakfast is included.
No air conditioning
Great location, good views, nice modern building in excellent condition. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed, good bathroom.
Having to go out around to get from the room to the breakfast area was tedious, and it would have been annoying if it rained. The room really needs a chest of drawers.
Beautiful area, friendly owners, quiet, and a nice breakfast
Excellent place! Hosts were fun to talk to, rooms were nice with views front and back. Great place to stay a few nights if you’re exploring the area.
The Tides is a family owned and operated motel located in a beautiful location across the street from the inlet in Norris Point. Barb, the owner welcomed us in the parking lot before we pulled our bags out of the car because the room entrances are behind the building. Her whole family works at the motel and they are friendly and helpful. We chose an option to have breakfast and we are looking forward to that after our one night stay leading to our trip to the northern peninsula. This motel was recommended by a friend who told me the next time he visited Newfoundland, he planned to book his whole visit in this hotel and I can understand why. I planned to visit Newfoundland previously and had booked at the Sugar Hill Inn but the trip was cancelled due to COVID and the owners there only provided me with a credit note that expired within 2 years, so opted to try this motel and a spa called Neddies on our return trip from the Northern Peninsula.
The rooms were spacious. Breakfast was great. The location was perfect.. Great place to stay. We hope to be back. Thanks
Great breakfast, large & comfortable room. The owners and staff were outstanding. They are very nice people and helpful . A great view of the water from our room. The Inn is very close to Rocky Harbour and the major attractions in the area.
There was nothing that we disliked about our stay.
It was a nice, clean. Great location and the staff and owners were really nice. Made you feel at home. Would definitely recommend.
Our room was spacious and comfortable. We were at The Tides out of season, so were the only guests. For us, that worked out nicely as we had wonderful conversations with our hosts Barb and Robert during breakfast.

Would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
Great room, bed was very comfortable. Close to lots of wonderful dining options. Chanterelles and Black Spruce were excellent.
The property and room was wonderful. The staff was excellent as well.
Beautiful property with lovely view. Clean and awesome breakfast!
Great owners, welcoming and helpful. Beautiful views all around.
Perfect place - a cross between a large hotel room and a B&B. Clean and modern. Your own outside entrance on one side and a balcony onto the cove on the other - beautiful! After a day of hiking in the park, you have lots of room to stretch out and relax. Terrific sleep on a super comfortable bed and an excellent hot breakfast with a variety of choices. The coffee's great, and the hosts are friendly and helpful. Convenient location on the Gros Morne side of the park - walking distance or short drive to food and drink. This will be our home base for future visits.
Suggestion: the fan on low at night makes for a comfortable sleep.
Wonderful place. Large rooms. Amazing hosts and a gorgeous view. Only flaw was road noise.
This is our first trip to the Tides Inn and we had the most lovely room (Room 10) that had two floors with lots of space and great views, and awesome location would highly highly highly recommend, room was exactly as advertised. The owners are a lovely couple and the hot breakfast was great both mornings, don’t hesitate to book here, you won’t be disappointed.
Lovely balcony with lovely view of a quiet ha
Noisy from the surrounding rooms
Beautiful place to relax from everyday stress. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beautiful views of the water and community. I would definitely go there again.
It’s absolutely gorgeous. Wonderful staff, impeccable room.
Patio and scenery
Bed
Spacious area, comfortable bed, and beautiful scenery on balcony. Would recommend staying here if you’re in the area!
It is a beautiful, updated property that has a beautiful view. They have a great continental breakfast. I just wish they had it open until 10am!
They did not have A/C but there are plans to install in winter of 2024
Everything about the Tides Inn was exceptional. The rooms, breakfasts, bedding, bathroom amenities, ice provided, quietness and pleasant deck for sitting. The breakfast is above and beyond anything offered by any high quality motel chain. Barb is an exceptional host.
Breakfast was delicious , however mixing up scrambled eggs one day with boiled eggs the next would be great as well!!
No air conditioning, sorry
