Nature's Rest

Sidney made our stay exceptional. He went out of his way to make my birthday extra special, the apartment's set up was so thoughtful with little snacks and handwritten welcome notes, the cherry on the cake was collecting fresh eggs from his chicken coop. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Felt super safe and at peace at his little haven. Highly recommend!!

Absolutely everything…this apartment has more than we needed for our stay, my wife and I enjoyed our stay, room was cozy and kitchen well equipped, everything looks sparkling clean. our host Sidney was really nice and pleasant to chitchat with. We went cruising in one of his boats a couple times, he even brought us eggs from his farm. My wife and I will definitely be back and of course recommend nature’s rest. If you’re reading this Sidney. We miss your space🤗

There’s nothing to not like.

Perfect getaway experience within a community in Cape Town blessed with surrounding nature, peace and tranquility. Host was warm, friendly and welcoming.

Nothing to complain about

The first day we arrived, my wife and I, we received a wam welcome, from a friendly and kind host, Mr. Jacobs. The place is spotless, so much clean. We've been in the guest houses before, but it was the first time we see so much clean place. The host, Mr. Jacobs, is friendly and kind, with some nice and funny stories 😂😍 The place is quite and peaceful, you sleep like a baby, in a comfort bed. The bathroom, wow so clean. One of the best moments, was when we were coming back from my graduation, and Mr. Jacobs, prepared us a little present, nice message and a cake. Wow, we also went to a boat cruise. One of the best moments. The boat cruise you can easily pay a lot of money for it, guest what? We got it for free, and I was the driver by the way. 😜 We also got some free eggs straight from the chickens. Nice, peaceful and clean place to be.

Nothing except that we had to leave 😭

It is a very unique gem where a nature meets comfort, a safety goes hand by hand with a privacy. So close to Cape Town but like at the countryside. Wildlife at the property is not disturbed and even curious to watch people like an owl on the tree! A very special welcome in my native language shows how much the owner and his wife care about their guests. An apartment is spacious, very clean , comfortable and luxury. A place to come back. Car is needed.

Nichts

Cleanliness and extremely well equipped. It had everything you could possibly need and the host was extremely helpful and available should you need them.

Nothing

The host was the absolute best, so friendly and helpful ensured that we were well taken care of.

The fact that we had to leave

My stay at Nature’s Rest was truly memorable and unlike any other. The property is beautiful, with gorgeous views of the lake and stunning sunrises that made each morning special. The area is in a safe environment, we even walked to False Bay Nature Park, which was calm and blissful, and a dream for keen bird watchers. Nature’s Rest is also perfectly located for exploring other areas; during my stay I was able to visit Muizenberg Beach, Kalk Bay, St James, and Simon’s Town with ease. The host, Sidney, is hands down one of the best hosts I’ve ever encountered - fun, warm, and incredibly welcoming. He even took us on his private boat to a tiny island where we made our own breakfast, an experience I’ll never forget. The lovely dogs in the compound added an extra touch of charm. The house is well equipped with everything you might need for a comfortable stay away from home. I cannot wait for my next visit!

Nothing everything was perfect.

The place was spacious and clean .

Amazing setting in Nature on your doorstep

Host was friendly made us feel at home will recommend it to anyone wanting to relax

Beautiful quiet location next to the vlei. Lovely large garden to relax in with a dog in your lap. Sidney very kindly took us out on his boat and advised that we could use the kayaks anytime. The apartment was spotless and very modern with everything we needed.

Stayed at Nature’s Rest for four nights during our recent trip to Cape Town. The accommodation was clean, quiet, comfortable, and very well-maintained—perfect as a base while we explored the city. The host was friendly and welcoming, and kindly offered us the use of the paddle boats and canoes, which was a thoughtful gesture. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to spend much time at the property beyond sleeping, as our days were quite full. We also didn’t get a chance to enjoy most of the amenities—but perhaps on our next visit. Overall, a comfortable and peaceful stay.

All good. There was nothing in particular that we didn't like. The time we spent in Cape Town was not enough. We'll be back and will hopefully have more time available.

This place is fantastic!!! First of all Sidney is an amazing host. I booked a few hours before check-in and Sidney made sure to check in with me to ensure a good arrival meanwhile providing some advice during my small roadtrip from Hermanus to Nature’s Rest. Let’s say in summary you’re not booking a place, but an experience!! That is unique compared to today’s availability on rental platforms. Highlights: - 🤩the space itself is beautifully designed and spic and span; - 👩‍🍳the kitchen well equipped although I went out for food during my last days around Cape Town; - 🚤when I arrived in the late afternoon I immediately wanted to try the kayak despite the strong wind. Against the advice of Sidney I followed my own instincts just to be laughed at and then rescued with his motorboat pulling me out of the reeds. I got to play with the motorboat shortly instead. - 🦅the morning I woke up after a deep sleep with no noise from the chicken or Casper the swan I went on the pedal boat on the lake trying watching birds (it’s fantastic with pelicans, fish eagle, cormorants etc) and floating around reading a book. - 💆‍♂️it’s not listed and therefore I’m not allowed to say there is an amazing massage chair which you can enjoy, chicken at your feet, dogs on your lap if you like that. - 🛶I ended my 3 night stay with a ride in the fast kayak around the lake finally seeing the fish eagle and Sidney joined on the way back guiding me through some hidden spots telling some funny and heartwarming stories. If you’re lucky you’ll also meet some of the family members. Sidney’s wife is so sweet and hugged me when I left. This is the kind of place that can really make one find peace. In my case that’s special as I can’t sit still too long. I’m very grateful to have ended my one-month trip full of trailrunning, surfing, free diving, whale watching, hiking, cultural activities etc. Perfect place in a healing journey or when fully thriving.

That I couldn’t take the massage chair home 😂😂😂

When I arrived, I knew instantly that I chose well. I wanted an authentic South African experience, quiet and serenity for a restful stay, and fun, and got more than I bargained for. The place is as beautiful as it is displayed in the photos. Everything in the spacious house is top quality and well thought out- kitchen appliances, bathroom, very comfortable bed. Sidney and his wife, Anne are very pleasant and will give you your privacy yet always ensure that you have all you need. It was great to watch the friendly dogs play by the beautiful lakeside and Casper the white swan being naughty :). You can relax by the lake as you read your book, enjoy the electric massage chair, or just enjoy the view, plus, Sidney has a private Island that I wish I'd had enough time to explore. I enjoyed being captain of a great motorboat ride under Sidney's guidance at an affordable fee and the drive through the "non tourist-y" parts of capetown. The neighbourhood is manned by security and you can ride a bike or take a stroll within this area and enjoy the beautiful views along the Peninsula.I didnt stay long enough to explore the place fully, and will be back for sure. Ps, Storm and Hunter (Sidney's grandchildren) who came for the weekend made the experience even more warm; very friendly kids! Thanks Sidney!

Location, was central but yet felt like you were somewhere different, Would definitely be back and recommend Nature's Rest!! 😄😄😄

A perfect location for me, as I was on a birdwatching holiday and wanted to be as close to the famous marshes at Zeekovlei and Strandfontein as possible. The property literally has its own boat dock and canoes on the former.

The hole experience the place was 1000% beautiful

Can't pin point anything

Liked everything about the place , nice and quiet , plenty of space with a nice fireplace and the host is the best i have met

There was nothing not to like

Super friendly host, clean apartment, fully equipped with everything you'd need and more. Had fun boating in the lake. Would definitely recommend and book again 👌

I liked everything about my Stay..I will definitely book it again.

Everything was perfect

How clean the room was, even under the bed! And everything you need, even a rolling pin..who wants to bake when you need to rest? This will be my go to place when I visit southern suburbs!

Nothing! Maybe just the area that you have to drive through to get there...but please don't judge this book by it's cover.

Unforgettable Stay at Nature’s Rest – More Than Just a Hotel! I had the pleasure of staying at Nature’s Rest in Cape Town for seven days, and I must say—it was an exceptional experience! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded expectations. The hotel itself is fantastic, offering a comfortable and relaxing ambiance. The kitchen was absolutely superb, catering to all our needs. However, what truly made this stay special was Sydny, the owner. He is not only a lovely and helpful person but also went out of his way to ensure we had a great time. One of the highlights of our trip was learning to kayak from Sydny. His patience, guidance, and expert tips made the experience even more enjoyable. He also shared valuable insights on riding boats, which added to our adventure. Honestly, a five-star rating doesn’t do justice to the level of hospitality and excitement we experienced. If you’re visiting Cape Town, I highly recommend staying at Nature’s Rest for an unforgettable time! Would definitely love to return!

I liked everything!

The place has everything you would need from salt to teabags to milk pots pans iron , EVERYTHING. It is on a beautiful lake and the owner allowed us to use the paddle boat and other facilities at no extra cost. The owner is an exceptional , friendly , welcoming host and is always making sure all is comfortable. The bed is so comfy you dont want to wake up, Location is central to everything. Thank you for a lovely stay Sidney and hope to see you again soon, will definately be back to use the upcoming Jacuuzi :)

everything is perfect

Everything, very quiet, neat and easy access to everything. Thank you Sydney for your welcome and lovely home. Thank you for making sure we were fine till the last day. You have yourself a little paradise there.

Thank you very much, Cidney. Made us feel at home. Beautiful premises and spotless clean. Will definitely do this again when we visit Cape Town

A super one bedroom apartment, with everything you would need. Very clean and well appointed with lovely touches. A beautiful location on the lake, with the use of a rowing boat and canoes. Sidney the host was fantastic, even taking us shopping and swimming at a local pool. Felt very safe.

Nothing!!

We could use a canoe and a catamaran sailboat for free. The host, Sidney is so friendly and forthcoming. You can ask him anything. We loved the company of the dogs and and the goose on the estate.

Sidney is very friendly and helpful. The property was beautiful. Kitchen carefully curated.

Nothing, would like to stay longer next time

Friendly owner Easily accessible So clean and beautiful

Everything about this place was exceptional. The hosts were extremely welcoming and very courteous. The accommodation could not be faulted at all. The activities provided were spectacular, the room was fantastic and made me feel right at home. the level of excellence at the home and venue as a whole is top tier and second to none. Natures Rest is definitely the place to book and i’m sorry i didn’t book a longer stay. I’ll definitely be returning soon! Thank you Sidney for and co for an amazing, unforgettable experience

The peace, The views , The lake ❤️ Such a friendly host.I felt like I was visiting family. So welcoming. We were welcomed earlier than our check in time. there was literally everything you can ever possibly need , Extra blankets,Gowns, all the works, Appliances .Basic food stuff. I can not put it all in one review.Loved it there

Nothing!!! I would be telling lies

Very neat and secure. Will definitely visit again. Host, Sidney is excellent.

The location was perfect we enjoyed being close to the lake and one with nature stunning view.

There was nothing that bothered us or hindered our peace and quiet.

Mr Sidney is a wonderful and friendly host. The place had everything you needed and above. Just the weekend I needed before my operation. I can not fault the place. Thank you, Thank you Thank you.

Beautiful unit, well appointed with all necessary equipment. Nice touch to supply fruit and yoghurt for your 1st morning breakfast. I would have loved to do the boat cruise on the vlei, but time did not permit it. Owner and host, Sidney was very accommodating. I had to leave 04H00 on my departure day and he was available to receive the keys and bid me farewell.

The beautiful lightings everywhere.

The host was very accommodating, we could only check in late evening at 11pm and they were more than happy to assist us at that hour. We had a beautiful customised welcome message. The place had every essential amenities you could think of. The entire stay and location was top tier quality with regards to peace and tranquility - which is exactly what we were looking for. The environment is very safe and there's security patrolling in the area constantly. We look forward to coming back again.

Great place to stay for our last couple of nights in CT. Lucky to have a totally different experience staying on the lake. Sidney, the hosts has such a huge heart and loves to share his home with you. He took us out on the beautiful lake on his kayaks for a couple of hours, such a wonderful experience.Space is completely private if you prefer.

Some may feel the neighbourhood you drive through to reach the property may feel unsafe but we had no problems

The apartment is very well equiped, very clean and very comfortable. The surrounding neighbourhoods are is not the safest area for tourists. The owner took us on a beautiful boat drive on ZEEKOEVLEI. Options to use the cano and a paddle boat. Besides the activities on the vlei, one cannot exit the property for walks or cycling. The property can be used as a base to go to Muizenburg etc.

The surrounding neighbourhood

Was perfect location on island u can also have a breakfast

I like everything was absolutely amazing views as well with nature pardise

When we arrived we were greeted by Sidney who made us feel very welcome. The rear of the property sits on the banks of the lake and is very picturesque. The area is very peaceful and is an ideal place to relax and take in the scenery whilst enjoying a barbecue. Inside, the flat is very modern with new appliances throughout. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the bedroom is air conditioned which is a godsend on a hot African night. The property is secure with gated access. Access to the Cape Town Waterfront is straightforward although it is a 20-30 minute drive. Other areas of interest such as Muisenburg , Simonstown, Boulders bay and Cape Point are also easily accessible by car.. On the whole we found our stay very pleasant although a little rushed as we only stayed for three nights.

Nothing

I liked the hospitality, this was one of my best stays. Love the place

Great place too free your mind It's a home away from home

We loved the abundance of nature even tho our stay was short, we loved every minute of it.

The facility is of high class finishes. Appliances is working and of high quality.

Cleanliness of the unit. Friendly owner. Ambience of the unit.
