One of the most beautiful places we stayed at. Everything was clean. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. Having the complimentary tuktuk is very helpful and it’s not a problem to reach the centre.

El mejor hotel que me he quedado de todo Sri Lanka, no tengo palabras para describir este hotel, desde su personal encantador , a sus instalaciones,que preciosidad de entorno, de habitaciones, que cuidado esta todo. El desayuno fue Increible tipo buffet pero nada procesado, mermelada casera, desayuno autóctono pero también con opción continental. La cama super cómoda, una piscina que no sentó super bien después de muchas horas conduciendo de tuk tuk, nos llevaron a la calle principal totalmente gratis en tuk tuk , a la vuelta volvimos andando ( se puede con un paseo agradable) Eso si te vas a despertar en cuanto salga el sol con los sonidos de las ardillas , pájaros , al final el entorno es como una selva.

Erg ruime en fijne bungalow in super mooie tuin. Fijn bed, beste douche en zelf een keukentje. Vriendelijk personeel die je veel uitleg geven en overal bij helpen. Lekker ontbijt met verse, zelfgemaakte producten en ook variërend. Goede locatie.

Alles in het bijzonder zeer vriendelijke behulpzame staf, je voelt gewoon dat ze dit werk graag doen en vooral samen doen. Locatie perfect, gratis tuk tuk dienst om naar centrum te gaan. Ligt langs het kanaal waardoor we nog wildlife te zien kregen ook. Super mooie , nette kamer , fijn zwembad. Heerlijk buffet ontbijt met zelfgemaakte confituur van een van de stafleden lekker ! Hier wordt voor je gezorgd. Voor mij beste hotel prijs- kwaliteit gedurende onze volledige reis .

Als ik mini dingetje mag zeggen; de koffie bij ontbijt wat gearomatiseerd, wat ik persoonlijk minder lekker vond; ik ben zeker mocht ik het gevraagd hebben hadden ze andere koffie gezet voor me , maar dit is echt een mini mini mini dingetje.

El hotel es muy bonito y muy bien cuidado en todos los detalles. El personal es super amable, siempre te atiende con una sonrisa y ayudan en todo. Destacar el desayuno que es especialmente bueno y la ubicación. Aunque esté un poco distanciado de la playa y restaurantes, tiene un tuk tuk gratuito que te lleva pidiéndolo 10 min antes. Lo recomiendo mucho

Quando apri il cancello di Canal House entri direttamente in una vera oasi di pace. Tutto è curato nei minimi dettagli. L'arredamento è raffinato, la colazione è ricca e completa, la piscina una vera chicca immersa nel verde. Per non parlare dello staff, loro fanno davvero la differenza. Sono tutti estremamente gentili, sempre sorridenti e pronti ad aiutarti. Un ringraziamento speciale a Lahiru per l'accoglienza, l' estrema gentilezza e disponibilità. Ha accolto ogni nostra richiesta e organizzato per noi tutte le attività. Veramente una persona fantastica! 10/10 non basta per rappresentare la bellezza di questo posto! Lo consiglio a chiunque voglia trascorrere qualche giorno a Mirissa!

I spent two nights at Canal D House and I couldn’t be happier with my stay! I came here on the recommendation of a French friend, and I’m so glad I followed his advice. I was definitely not disappointed! The house is absolutely beautiful, with a stunning entrance and a peaceful setting surrounded by nature. It truly feels like a little haven of peace. The swimming pool was very clean and lovely, and the location was also very convenient. A special thank you to Lahiru, the manager, who took such amazing care of me throughout my stay. He welcomed me like a princess and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. Thanks to his help I also went to do snorkeling with turtles ! He and his whole team are incredibly kind, welcoming and caring. The breakfast was very generous and delicious, and the complimentary tuk-tuk service was extremely useful and made getting around so much easier. I also slept extremely well — the bedding was very comfortable, the bathroom was beautiful, and there were plenty of complimentary products available, which was a really nice touch. Everything about this place made my two-night stay relaxing, comfortable and special. I highly recommend Canal D House and would absolutely love to come back one day. Thank you so much to Lahiru and the whole team for making me feel so welcome! ❤️

We absolutely loved our stay here! The bungalow was just like on the pictures. Very spacious, clean, and has all the facilities you need. Staff were super helpful and kind and the property is super nicely decorated with lights and plants that give a cozy vibe. We would 100% come back again!

Vriendelijke ontvangst, lekker uitgebreid ontbijt, grote kamers, veel extra's en je wordt ontzorgt door o.a. de tuktuk service. Handdoeken service aan het zwembad en je mag deze ook meenemen naar het srrand.

Tegen de avond overlast van muggen omdat het complex omringt wordt door stilstaand water. Wasservice was wel iets duur en dan is de kleding niet geheel gedroogd, kan ook door de hoge luchtvochtigheid veroorzaakt zijn.

Nuestra estancia en DCanal House ha sido excepcional. El lugar es maravilloso: una casa preciosa en plena naturaleza, integrada con muchísimo respeto hacia la fauna local de Sri Lanka. Aunque queda un poco apartada de la carretera principal, no supone ningún problema porque te facilitan traslados gratuitos en tuk-tuk para llegar. Lo mejor, sin duda, es el equipo: son increíblemente atentos y siempre te reciben con una sonrisa. Mención especial para Lahiru, que nos cuidó de maravilla e hizo posible que nuestras vacaciones fueran perfectas. Y mención entrañable para Garfield, un gatito precioso del que nos dio muchísima pena tener que despedirnos. ¡Para repetir sin dudarlo!

L'hôtel est sublime, une impression de rentrer dans une jungle intime. La piscine est grande, propre et belle avec le canal en contrebas nous avons pu voir passer de magnifiques varans. Notre bungalow était grand et confortable. Le personnel de l'hôtel adorables, ils nous ont aidé à organiser notre séjour sur place avec beaucoup d'attention.

Calm location a short walk (around 1km) from the main road of the town, but during the day there is a free tuk-tuk service provided. The accommodation consists of nice rooms with a nice refreshing pool.

Prachtig hotel met zeer ruime bungalows, heerlijke bedden en douche, zalig zwembad en top ontbijt. Maar het beste; het super vriendelijke personeel dat bij van alles hielp. En de kitten was goud voor de kids!

Het hotel ligt net iets verder van de mainroad, maar met de gratis tuktuk service, prima te doen en juist wel lekker rustig.

Es ist eine sehr schöne Unterkunft und sehr idyllisch. Eine kleine Pause in der Natur. Das Personal ist auch super freundlich und geht auch die Extrameile für einen noch angenehmeren Aufenthalt.

Wij werden warm onthaald bij aankomst en kregen een verfrissend sapje. Personeel was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Af en toe ook gewoon even mee gekletst over de dieren enz toen wij aan het zwemmen waren. De kamer (Garden and Pool) was heel stijlvol en overtrof onze verwachting. Het huis (hoofdgebouw) zelf heeft een fijne sfeer. Het ontbijt was gevarieerd en keuze genoeg. A la minute bakte de kok een eitje voor je zoals jij dat graag wilt. De tuin was ontzettend mooi. Dit was het mooiste en fijnste verblijf wat wij in Sri Lanka hebben gehad. Complimenten aan Lahiru en het team!

Niet de beste locatie vanaf de stad maar er wordt een gratis tuctuc service aangeboden door het verblijf. Wij hadden onze eigen tuctuc dus hebben er geen gebruik van gemaakt.

Wij verbleven in Main house, ruime kamers met veel kastruimte, fijne bedden en heerlijke douche. Ligt wat verder van het strand en restaurants. Gratis tuktuk service. Mooi zwembad in de prachtig aangelegde tuin. Ontbijt super goed.

D Canal House is a little paradise away from the busyness, surrounded by beautiful jungle and with a lovely pool, yet only 4 minutes from the main road. What really makes this place special, though, is the staff. Everyone is incredibly warm, friendly and genuinely interested in making sure you have a great stay. They take the time to chat with you, ask about your day, offer recommendations and help with anything you might need. It creates such a welcoming and personal atmosphere. Breakfast was also great, with everything from eggs cooked to your choice to traditional Sri Lankan options. The free tuk-tuk service to the main road until 7pm is another thoughtful touch. A peaceful little escape made even better by the wonderful people who work there.

Heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel, hele mooi tuin met veel bomen/planten, heerlijk ontbijt en mooi zwembad. Met een tuktuk (viahotel geregeld, zelfs tot 19 uur gratis) was je zo bij leuke restaurantjes.

Prachtig hotel in oosterse stijl. Wij hebben een prachtige kamer in de tuin geboekt. Deze kamers zijn veel groter dan in het hoofdgebouw. Hotel is een beetje afgelegen maar ze hebben een tuk tuk service om u in. 5 minuten naar het centrum te brengen. Een echte aanrader !

Fantastic stay – absolutely a 10! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful stay. Everything was well taken care of, clean and comfortable. The location was ideal and the service was excellent. A special mention goes to Lahiru. We could always turn to him whenever we needed help or information. He was incredibly friendly, helpful and always there for us. His hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, a fantastic experience and definitely a 10/10! We would happily stay here again and highly recommend this accommodation.

Lahiru trato immejorable, muy amable y te ayuda en todo lo que puede. Gracias, Lahiru! Estubimos como en casa. Y por la noche hay Milan, muy servicial y simpático que también te ayuda en todo. The rooms are really nice and have a unique design that I haven't seen anywhere, the staff are the kindest people you could meet in all of Sri Lanka and their service is unmatched.

Such a stunning hotel! From the moment we walked through the front entrance me and my boyfriend were impressed and we loved our Sunset Room. Beautiful nature all around, lovely and super helpful team of staff who take good care of the place and even better care of the guests. Delicious food too.

The ambiance of the property was incredibly beautiful with its lush garden areas and well maintained pool. Staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and communicative. Especially when the local area had power cuts, they brought us candles when we asked them. The breakfast was always delicious and had both western/Sri Lankan food to choose from. We recommend trying the housemade mango and papaya jam! It was especially tasty!!!

D Canal is a little out from the main road but this is a plus as the property is so peaceful. The entrance garden is mirific. Like walking in a fairy tale. The main house has a unique decor, very impressive. The hotel is 700m from the main road so they offer free tuk-tuk rides, but I enjoyed walking it once. Lahiru and his team is extremely helpful. Nothing is too much to ask. Didn’t have breakfast at the property.

During the night you can hear lots of animal noises but I guess that’s what makes it authentic 😊

Das "D-Kanal House" liegt in einem wunderschönen Garten, mit Pool und Sonnenliegen und vielen Bäumen und Pflanzen, so dass hier viele Tiere und Vögel zu beobachten sind. Die kleine Anlage ist etwas abseits der Hauptstraße, dafür aber sehr ruhig und umgeben von Einheimischen, aber durch den Tuktuk-Shuttle in die Stadt oder auch fussläufig gut erreichbar. Restaurants befinden sich in der näheren Umgebung, wie auch an der Hauptstraße und am Strand entlang. Unser Zimmer war sauber, mit allem ausgestattet, was nötig ist. Das Frühstück war vielfälltig und frisch mit Obst, Eiern, selbstgemachter Marmelade und heimischen Speisen, die Mitarbeiter waren freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt dort sehr genossen. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit!

Tout était parfait

Tout, la beauté du lieu, l’hotel et les jardins extérieurs. La gentillesse et disponibilité de Lahiru le gérant de l’hôtel, ainsi que du personnel. L’emplacement et les tuktuk disponible gratuitement pour nous rendre au centre ville.

Honnêtement, je n’ai vraiment rien à dire, mise à part qu’il faudrait peut-être une serpillière dans les salles de bain et un petit balais dans les chambres pour nettoyer le sol.

Es ist ein wunderschönes Boutique B&B in mitten der Natur. Wer es ruhig mag ist hier genau richtig. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön eingerichtet und haben einen sehr großen Balkon. Die gesamte Anlage mit Pool ist einfach wunderschön. Das Frühstücksbuffet war ebenfalls sehr ausgiebig und man bekommt sowohl westliches als auch Sri Lankisches Essen. Sie bieten tagsüber einen kostenlosen Tuktuk Shuttle zur Hauptstraße an.

Nous avons séjourné ma copine et moi à l’hôtel deux nuits, et ce fut exceptionnel ! L’hôtel est conforme aux photos présentes sur le site, nous avons une chambre sunset c’était magnifique avec un très grand lit. Le personnel est très attentionnée et d’une gentillesse extrême ! Nous avons eu une activité un matin et le personnel nous a mis de côté le petit déjeuner, un service au rendez-vous chez D Canal House. Nous le recommandons à 100% !

De atmosfeer, het personeel en kamer was fantastisch. Prachtig zwemdag, top ontbijt, echt een aanrader. De verantwoordelijke Lahiru was super behulpzaam en regelde alles wat we wouden. Ook de rest van het personeel met de nachtwachter Milan in het bijzonder waren super vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Er is smiddags en savonds geen eten te verkrijgen. Je moet een tuktuk nemen naar het strand voor eten. Tot en met 19u was transport van en naar het verblijf inclusief waardoor dit maar een voetnoot is.

D Canal house exceeded my expectations. The whole house was just wonderful, the STAFF are truly just so friendly and very extremely helpful. Nothing is a bother for them. They bend backwards to make my stay even more comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was just perfect, just the perfect balance. The whole place is just so tranquil and the gardens are well maintained. They have a free tuk tuk service into Mirassi daily especially if you don’t want to walk in the warm weather. There is nothing to fault about the property. Highly recommend and if you are considering staying here, just book it. You won’t regret it. So looking forward to re-visiting D Canal House when I’m next in Sri Lanka

L'endroit est magnifique, dans la nature avec beaucoup d'animaux qui passent pas loin. Le personnel est très sympathique et attentionné, ils nous ont aidés pour les activités (whale watching et snorkeling).

Very friendly staff, specially Lahiru. Building and gardens are very beautiful. Pool is also good. Bedrooms are big and good. Breakfast also good. I recommend it, 100%! Since the (short) way to Mirissa is not that good for cars, they organise free Tuk Tuk Service.

This was our favourite hotel in all of Sri Lanka. The staff are very kind and attentive and there is a great selection for breakfast. The pool is very clean and peaceful, a wonderful way to spend a few hours in the afternoon. It is a bit further out of the centre but it was worth it, especially as they provide a free tuk tuk between 10am- 7pm. The nature is stunning, they have a beautifully kept garden with lights throughout, making it look like a fairy tale.

Really great location just away from the crowds, but still close enough to everything, and the pool was perfect for relaxing. Being right next to the canal meant there was loads of birdlife, which was amazing for me as a wildlife photographer. Once the staff realised that, they went out of their way to point things out and even lent me a bike so I could explore nearby rice paddies and a local lake. They also offered free tuk-tuks into town, which was a really nice touch.

Honestly, nothing really stood out as an issue during our stay. Everything was easy and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly helpful throughout. No real complaints at all.

Stunning property just a nice distance away from the bustling little Marissa town. An easy 10-15 min pretty rural stroll with many friendly dogs gets you to the beach and restaurants etc. Superb, comfortable and beautifully designed yet also very relaxed. At night the gardens are light with magical fairy lights. It’s so beautiful.

Only thing bad is the coffee its either spiced coffee or instant. Some regular filter coffee would make it perfect a perfect breakfast. The Chef was a lovely man too.

This is the loveliest hotel we stayed in in Sri Lanka. The hotel itself is beautiful, inside the rooms were cosy and outside there is a really green garden and lovely pool. It's situated just on the river so you can watch the wildlife as you eat your breakfast (which is delicious btw!) The staff were sooo kind and friendly and really made our stay here amazing. They also offer a free tuk tuk ride into town. We were so sad to leave and can't recommend D Canal House enough!

This was the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka over three weeks. We stayed in Hibiscus bunaglow, which was very spacious and well designed. As others have mentioned, the gardens are absolutely beautiful. A little oasis. I usually rush out and about but I loved this place so much I was just as happy hanging around by the pool and chilling. The pool is stunning and you can just float around watching the many birds arriving. Waking up in the morning to the sound of nature is so good for the soul. The breakfast is good quality and there is free tea and coffee all day. Transport into Mirissa itself is free and easily organised. However, we mostly walked. It only took about fifteen minutes, feels very safe and is a pleasant stroll. I wouldn't have wanted to stay in Mirissa itself, which can get very busy with heavy traffic. It felt far better to dip in, have dinner on the beach and then go back to the calm and peace. There are so many good things to say about the hotel, but more than anything, it is the staff who make it. They are delightful and the nicest and most helpful people you could imagine. Lahiru on reception couldn't have done more to make our stay a happy one. He gave us lots of information and arranged a crocodile trip and onward taxi for us, as well a giving us details about good places to eat. Milan, the night watchman, was super friendly and again, really helpful. Lovely to talk to. The breakfast staff also deserve a mention as they genuinely did everything they could to make sure we had a great start to the day and their beautiful smiles made my morning. Lovely home made jam which you can buy for a gift to take home. Can't fault the place and hope one day to get back there - the sooner the better.

I honestly wouldn't like to suggest improvements here as it felt like everything we might need had been thought of. If I was forced to make a suggestion, I would say that it would be great if you could buy a little salad or something in the afternoon, but it isn't important as you can easily walk to various food places within five minutes.

Das D Canal House ist nicht ganz im Zentrum des Trubels von Mirissa und von daher perfekt für alle, die gerne etwas Ruhe haben. Das kleine, aber feine Hotel hat einen wunderschönen, großzügigen Garten und unglaublich liebenswerte Angestellte. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

This was a gorgeously maintained space. Each bungalow feels very private. The shaded pool area was perfect for afternoon naps after morning beach. Staff were super kind and attentive. The free tuktuk to and from the beach made it easy.

It was a bit too far from the beach for popping back and forth. A hotel nearby played loud music on one of the nights- but still quieter than staying near the sea from.

If you want a beautiful romantic hotel, set in lush tropical gardens, that transform into a fairy paradise at night, then this place is a definite. We were welcomed by Lahiru who speaks perfect English and made us feel so welcome. Indeed all the staff did, so pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is a buffet with lots of choice and if you fancy the beach it is only a short walk or a free tuk tuk ride. We had a wonderful stay, enjoyed every minute. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country with the most kindest of people who just want you to enjoy your holiday. Everything was perfect from start to finish

This hotel cannot be faulted. The hotel is stunning inside and out. The pool and outside space is beautiful, relaxing, grounding and surrounded by nature. The room is really quite stunning in a natural and wholesome way with its rich wood and heavy, high quality interior. The staff are just beautiful souls. They will do anything for you and are so very generous and happy. The breakfast is just perfect as so much choice and you can have as little or as much as you want. The scrambled eggs and bacon , fresh juice, papaya and home made jam is so very delicious. We felt so well looked after, cared for and safe. Tuk tuks and drivers were arranged for us very kindly, communication and WiFi were strong, the shower had a great pressure and water and all amenities needed are required. The bedding and towels are super clean and fresh. We wish them all the best for future. Thank you . We were sad to leave!

Really lovely small boutique hotel with beautiful pool and rooms. Very friendly staff and we enjoyed the free Tuktuk service. Delicious breakfast.

The staff, the breakfast and the facilities, all of them were excellent. The morning boat ride was stunning and peaceful as well. The staff also organised snorkelling and a massage session for the both of us.

Amazing accommodation with beautiful jungle vibes! The room was fantastic, the pool area was perfect for relaxing, and breakfast was very good. The staff were incredibly friendly and always helpful, which made our stay even better. We stayed here during our honeymoon in February and couldn’t have chosen a better place. Highly recommended!

It is a beautiful property set away from the hustle and bustle of Mirissa. Breakfast was very good. The pool refreshing even though heated. A free tuk tuk was a bonus.

Unfortunately a night club has opened nearby on. Saturday night and it did disturb our sleep. The owners of D Canal and many others are trying to get it stopped but at the moment avoid staying in a Saturday. Otherwise our stay was perfect!

The staff were very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was served as a small buffet. The pool was large and clean. The courtyard, or rather the garden, is designed with a lot of love and care. Since the hotel is located a bit off the main road, the hotel offers a free tuk-tuk shuttle service to the main street.

It was a pity that less attention seemed to be paid to the sun loungers. On the first day we threw some trash into one of the ashtrays, and after two days, when we checked out, it was still full.
