Beedu - Backpackers Hostel

It’s very central, you reach anything in gokulam very quickly. Plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops and Yogshala around. I had a private room and it had all I needed, hot water included.

I asked twice for toilette papers and it never came.

We loved our stay at Beedu‘s. Friendy staff, it is very nice located in a quiet road in Gokulam, lots of delicious food options within walking distance.

Location was handy to everything

The kitchen and common areas weren’t very clean. Air conditioning unit made loud clanking noises.

If you want to spend little money, does not mind the noise and does not care much about cleanliness in the communal areas, the hostel is cute, located on a noisy street with traffic but very convenient. The dorms are cheap and people seemed to enjoy their stay. If you are in Mysore to go to yoga classes early in the morning, I don’t recommend Beedu. I stayed in the twin and economy rooms, both overlooking the main street and I had to leave before the end of my stay without a refund as I couldn’t sleep. The AC was turning on and off on its own at night. The owner pretends to be understanding but was somewhat disrespectful towards me when I explained I want to leave because of the noise. He refunded me one night of my 3 remaining nights and made me go to the hotel 6 times just to receive the money and in the end not even the amount he’d promised….. And I am not too sure about the cleanliness of the blankets. The kitchen has the necessary items for a basic prep. (If no one else wants to cook at the same time as you) but it is a bit of a disaster, dirty and with broken items. There is filtered water on each floor, which is handy. There is a seating area on the terrace but it is very dirty, and definitely needs cleaned more often. So the photos are cute but I was disappointed at the reality. Overall, if you have a couple of nights in Mysore and need something cheap, this will do. But don’t recommend it for longer stays.

I spent 10 days at Beedu and would absolutely recommend it. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the main street with all the best cafés and restaurants. A huge thank you to Madhu, who was incredibly welcoming and went out of his way to be helpful throughout my stay!

Super sweet staff - the guy who works at the reception is lovely! Beds are comfy. The downstairs space + roof are great. A little gem of Mysuru.

Everything about the hostel is amazing

The hostel was super clean and well maintained. The common area upstairs and the terrace had such a calm and peaceful vibe. Service was good. Overall a good experience.

Its location and room size. It’s close to yoga studios, cafes and shops. A short drive from the main tourists attractions for example ~ 12 mins Tuk Tuk from the palace. The staff are sweet and there are games available.

The cleanliness of the room was below standard. The bathroom was dirty, the sink needed a good scrub. The water from the shower was lukewarm. The sheets were dirty and had stains on them and no towels available. A real shame as it has huge potential with a little upkeep.

I stayed in a single room at this hostel in Mysore and had a really comfortable and pleasant experience. The building is well-maintained, and the room was spacious — perfect for solo travellers. The bed was comfy, with clean bedsheets and a cozy quilt provided. There was also a big cupboard that easily fit all my baggage. The location is a huge advantage. It’s in the Gokulam area — a calm, peaceful, and safe neighbourhood, yet close to everything. Cafes, restaurants, yoga centres, and local eateries are all within walking distance. It's tucked away from the busy streets, so you get the quiet without being far from the action. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They made sure I had everything I needed in the room and were always quick to respond to any questions I had. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful yet well-connected stay in Mysore!

There was no mirror in the room, so I had to keep going to the bathroom to get ready. Would’ve been nice to have at least a small mirror to see myself properly. Also, the kitchen wasn’t very clean — things were a bit all over the place.

I loved that the location is central to most of the cafes, eateries and yoga centers at a walking distance. The building is well maintained and the room was spacious enough for 1 person to stay freely. The bed was comfortable and clean sheets and quilt were guven. Well ventilated room with a big enough cupboard to store everything! The neighborhood is calm and peaceful in the night.

1- There was no mirror in the room, so I had to get ready with the avg mirror in the bathroom every now and then. 2- The kitchen wasn't clean and could have maintained well .

Prime location in Gokulam, easily accessible to all the best places in Mysuru.

1. No toiletries provided even in a private room. 2. Towels were provided at 9pm despite us checking-in in the morning. 3. No water bottles in the private room. 4. Absolutely 0 parking space - need to park your car on the main road since neighbours behave like the government roads are their private property. 5. The floor was extremely sticky despite requesting cleaning again. I understand there are limitations to what hostels can provide, however, when we pay extra for a private room we expect basic amenities like water, toiletries, towels, clean floor. Anything you ask the staff, he said sorry we don’t have we don’t provide. Not worth paying 2000 for a private room just for bed and bath. Waste of money. Not going back again.

Nothing much was impressive.

The staff and owner don't have good standards of hospitality. The place always smelled of cigarettes. The kitchen and terrace were extremely unhygienic. Constant disturbance in the bedroom. Very little space to breathe and relax.

We booked female dormatory but was provided male dormatory and it did not have locks which was disappointing

This is an amazing place. The staff are very friendly. The vibe of the property is very epic and even the location is very nice. I just stayed for a day but had a blast with the people here. I recommend this to anyone who's travelling solo and looking to unwind and have fun

The room and hotel were fine, if a little outdated. The staff weren’t the friendliest and the A/C didn’t work but it was clean and overall a fine stay.

The hostel was very clean with good social areas. It's very quiet you can have a good rest.

Review: I had a fantastic stay at beedu and an even better experience taking a yoga class with Farhan. The hostel itself had a great vibe—clean, comfortable, and with a friendly atmosphere that made it easy to meet other travelers. The staff was welcoming and always ready to help. Farhan’s yoga class was definitely a highlight of my stay. His teaching style was calm and encouraging, making it perfect for all levels. The session was well-paced, leaving me feeling refreshed and energized & teaching me so many new techniques. Whether you’re new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, I highly recommend joining one of his classes! Would definitely stay here again and take more classes with Farhan!

Was in a safe area, 10 minutes walk from all the yoga schools, many restaurants around. The room was big and had air conditioning and fan.

The common room was super hot so for me was not nice to hang out there, the crowd was a bit weird and I was happy to have my own room. The staff was nice but also not so friendly, in my room there was a sign saying that if I needed toilet paper I should ask and they wouldn’t give it, they said they were gonna bring it but never did.
