Clean and in the middle of downtown. So many eatery restaurants around at walking distance. I enjoyed my stay and staff were friendly and welcoming.

Great stay, great breakfast with local specialties. If you want to experience zona colonial this is a great option.

Rooms with no windows. This was not clearly stated in the description. The property offers “Bright Rooms” and “Standard Rooms,” but the Standard option has no windows at all. Very claustrophobic.

This is my 3rd time staying here and I will continue to do so when I travel to DR. Some of the reasons I stay here are: location, affordability, breakfast included, and parking available. This time we ate dinner at the hotel and did not like it at all, you’re better off eating in the nearby restaurants. However, when we mentioned it to the waiter, they removed the undercooked item from our check which was very nice of them. The breakfast offers a good variety of options and its buffet style right on the property whereas other places don’t offer breakfast or offer it in a nearby restaurant. I love that they also have a gym. It’s smalls but it has a few weights, treadmill and elliptical, enough to get a quick workout in.

The rooms were comfortable and the staff are pleasant. The location is perfect for exploring the Zona Colonial. I was underwhelmed by the breakfast.

A very picturesque place to stay. The small balconies are nice for people watching. Staff was nice enough to give me a super late checkout to coincide with my next hotel check in. All the staff was great and spoke pretty good English. Area is very safe if anyone is wondering. Just watch out for the motorbikes. The room was a bit small. Also, the hot water didnt last long or get very warm

Had a lovely stay at this hotel for a few days with my mom. We’re visiting the country & first time I’ve stayed en la Zona Colonial. First off I’ll say that the staff were great, very responsive, nice and professional! We had a bit of an inconvenience of getting a room that was not fully cleaned (found some hair that was not ours in the shower drain & bedroom floors) — this was unfortunate, but quickly remedied after we shared it with the manager. I also wish the water was a bit warmer, but can’t really complain, overall great stay. Rooftop was a plus, lovely breeze up there! I definitely recommend— very convenient!

They have a lounge above the rooms and there is noise way above 1am that doesn’t let you sleep. The AC never worked properly. Room was hot even while it was set to 16, full fan and turbo…

Hotel was nice but not having a pool was a big miss on my part. Being so far from the beach and in the summer a place to take a dip is essential in DR.

Without a doubt, the hotel offers the best breakfast in the entire Zona Colonial for a mid-range option. Capping it all off is the rooftop bar, providing an amazing view that perfects the whole package. P.S. Ashley Olivo, the receptionist, adds a significant dose of charm to the overall experience...

I Always Stay Here At This Hotel Great Staff

Place is a bit outdated, staff was nice. Our pillows didn't smell clean, they smelled like armpits. Vibe was nice of the hotel. Close commute to places.

The manager and the employees were very attentive, kind and did the "extra mile" to accommodated us.

Was told by a cleaning staff member that the rooms are cleaned every other day. That statement was ridiculous and turned out not to be true.

The hotel is clean, quiet, and the area is convenient lots of restaurants and historical area. The staff is friendly.

The most unique part about the property was the interior design. I apreciate the calm colors. Aside from that, the room was clean and cool especially on hot days. The staff were proficient and moved quickly.

This hotel was really great. The customer service at the reception desk was top tier (shoutout to Herbie & Ashley). The only problem I had was that a few of the rooms only had 1 window which was in the bathroom so there was nothing to look at but the 4 walls but the rooms were cleam & comfortable. The area that the hotel is in has a lot of places within walking distance so they were easy to find & we were never short of anything. I will definitely return here

This is my go to hotel in the Colonial zone. Great value for your money. very well located and with great breakfast. The new rooftop bar and terrace are amazing. I stay here couple times every year and its perfect.

Wonderful place to stay and walk around the historic parts of Santo Domingo.

My privacy was violated on the last day of me leaving. A guy just enter the room without my permission to count things inside the refried. Thats was rude. Could have wait 5 minutes of me walking out.

Excellent place to stay near everything!

The hotel its nice and cleal but the AC was not cooling enough. Also the chaged us $11 for parking at the property. Brakfast was good. I had better deal hotels at the same aeea. This was ok but I wont stay again and pay extra for parking.

Issues with the AC not cooling efficiently lost you a star.

Easy to walk around many historic, restaurants, bars, shopping and many more. I’ve been stayed at this hotel for 3rd times I definitely come back. Best breakfast buffet in town

Bar on roof very noisy with music and signing until very late. Do not accept a room on 4th floor, especially if you have to get up early for the airport, you will not get any sleep

I liked the property and the rooms were very nice. Staff is great. The only thing I did not like was the noise level in the morning. If you want to sleep in you can’t because you can hear everything that is going on in the hallways. Doors being slammed people walking and talking. The cleaning people going from door to door and having conversations in the hallways. None the less, it was a great experience. Parking in the side the building was 11 dollars which I think should be included if the guest is staying at the hotel.

It is a very good place to stay in the colonial area because everything is at a walking distance. It was clean, quiet, and the breakfast had many options to choose from. The personnel was helpful and efficient. The only reason I give it four stars instead of five is because there was no desk in the bedroom, which was very inconvenient, the gym is very tiny, and my particular room had very high, small windows --so no views or much natural light.

recently booked a room at your hotel through Expedia, but I did not receive the room I paid for. Expedia has informed me that they are unable to process a refund because they cannot get in touch with management, which is highly unprofessional. Additionally, the room conditions were extremely disappointing—far smaller than expected, with little to no soundproofing, making for an uncomfortable stay.

I am a repeat guest of the Gran hotel Europa. The hotel is clean. The staff are attentive to your needs. The hotel is located near Calle Conde - there are some excellent restaurants nearby. The rooftop breakfast is terrific and there is a panoramic view of Santo Domingo. The hotel is in the historic Zona Colonial and you can walk to several nearby attractions. The Cathedral of the Americas is a short walk away. Barrio Chino has some decent Chinese Restaurants and there is a Sunday Market in the Bario Chino. The staff here look after their guests. I will return to the Gran hotel Europa.

This place is in la Ciudad Colonial of Santo Domingo. It is really beautiful and it has very high end restaurants around the area. La casa del dulce (house of sweets) a landmark in the DR, as this is an establishment that has been there for years, is right there. You can find the best leave cheese (Queso de Hoja) and other traditional stuff a prices that wont break the bank. They only take cash though, it can be dominican pesos or dollars. The location is great, the hotel was clean and great. It has a rooftop where they serve breakfast lunch and dinner. Very nice. Would stay again, although my house is only 15 minutes from there. :)
