The kitchen was great, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. When you arrive the send you a while list off recommendation in google maps which is amazing! Really love it and the effort put into it. The commen area is very nice as well.

It is quite outside of the Center which is nice if you like the calm. The only thing which we didn‘t like was the amount of mosquito. Soo many probably because the bathroom was quite wet. Would have loved maybe a plug against them or a mosquito net. Other than that amazing stay

Het hotel stuurde voor ons verblijf al de mogelijkheden voor tours, wat heel handig was. Ze dachten ook mee met andere mogelijkheden voor trips. Locatie is wat verder weg van het toeristische centrum wat een beetje onhandig was. Ook is er geen echte ontbijtmogelijkheid behalve zelf wat halen uit de supermarkt. Maar dat maakte het personeel weer goed!

Het bed en de handdoeken zijn aan vervanging toe. Ook de mini badkamer kan een update gebruiken.

Hele prettige relexte sfeer. Aan de buitenrand v d stad, vlakbij de rijstvelden.

Insgesamt hat uns der Aufenthalt im Hostel gut gefallen, es ist in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße außerhalb des Zentrums gelegen. Das Zimmer war klein, hatte aber alles was es brauchte. Positiv hervorheben möchten wir aber besonders das Team von Mitarbeitern, die sich sehr herzlich um alles kümmern! Wir haben uns super nett und ausführlich mit Bilqis unterhalten - ganz liebe Grüße! Außerdem konnten wir die großartigen Touren zum Bromo und Tumpak Sewu ganz unkompliziert über das Hostel buchen - ein weiterer Pluspunkt!!

Einige Insekten waren in unserem Zimmer - hier halfen die Mitarbeiter aber auch mit einem Spray schnell aus. Nach unserem Empfinden hätte das Badezimmer sauberer sein müssen und das Bett ist recht hart.

Everyone was so welcoming and always happy to help, which made us feel right at home. I also highly recommend booking the private Bromo tour. The manager joined us on the tour, and thanks to her, we had an unforgettable experience. She knew all the best spots, took great care of us, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. It truly became one of the highlights of our trip. What a great hostel! I honestly didn't expect it to be this good for under 100k a night. Everything was spotlessly clean. Easily 100/100. The whole place felt so peaceful, cozy, and homy. Even the colors and interior just made me feel happy. I had one of the best sleeps here. There are 3 floors, 5 shared bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, free-flow drinking water, and they even provide SPF 50 lotion. There's also a nice chill area with bean bags and a TV. If you want some quiet time, the rooftop has a cozy cafe like setup where you can just sit back and relax. I already want to come back. One night definitely wasn't enough. Highly recommended!

Kind staff and really clean! Even the kitchen was clean. Something you dont see in every hostel. Also they have a self check in. So if you arrive at the trainstation at 3 am, you can still be in bed by the time its 4 :D

Had a really lovely stay at Casa De Vie. The place is clean and comfortable. The owner and staff were kind and helpful throughout my stay, and I met some wonderful people there as well. As a solo traveler, I always appreciate places that make it easy to strike up conversations without feeling forced, and Casa De Vie had that kind of vibe. Had such a great stay here! The place is super cozy, comfortable, and really feels like home. The room was clean, and all the facilities were complete, so everything I needed was available. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Special shoutout to Toriq for being so kind and helpful! He's currently learning English, and it was really nice chatting with him. Keep it up, Toriq! 😊 The front office service was also superb—fast, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. They made the whole check-in and check-out process smooth and hassle-free. I had a great experience staying here! The atmosphere was very welcoming and comfortable. I joined the Bromo trip organized by the hostel, and everything was arranged very well. They also offer a waterfall tour, but unfortunately, I didn't have enough time in Malang to join it. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Special thanks to Thoriq—your English is improving really well, keep it up! The bed was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was also very clean. I especially loved the towels because they were thick and felt high quality. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back again. See you next month!

I really enjoyed my stay here. They have a modern kitchen and all of the utensils, as a backpacker this helps me a lot to save money and to cook my own food. The neighbourhood area is quiet, the ambience is very homey! That's what I love most. The staff were friendly and easy going! Especially to the housekeeping Gilang that helps me with my heavy bag, I feel like I have a concierge like in a 5 star hotel hahah. The hospitality is top!

The staff were incredibly helpful and engaged me in conversation. This was a huge plus for me, as a solo traveler, making friends and forming close relationships was a truly amazing experience, as was the warmth of this luxurious homestay! Not only was the bed comfortable, but the magical coffee machine was free to use, the kitchen was fully stocked, and tea and sugar were readily available daily. The staff were incredibly helpful and provided a wonderful experience during the walking tour! They explained the history in detail and provided warm conversation! Furthermore, during the walking tour, I was also taught how to conduct transactions at local stalls in Indonesian language. It was truly amazing! Obsessed with the vibes here, it’s so calm and peaceful. The place is super clean and neat, plus it’s fully stocked with towels, soap, and shampoo. Shout out to Ama for being an absolute sweetheart and waiting for me to check in. The highlight for me was definitely the books available to read. Love the ambience so much!

Toen we aankwamen hing het personeel op en rondom de bank in de gemeenschappelijke ruimte wat een beetje onprofessioneel over kwam. De temperatuur van de douche was voor 30 seconden warm en werd daarna meteen koud. En de wasmachine werd nog gebruikt na 22:00 in de avond, en stond nog op 3 uur wassen rond die tijd. We lagen in de kamer naast het washok, wat een onwijs lawaai maakte. Ook zaten er motten in de kamer. Jammer dat ons verblijf daardoor een stuk minder comfortabel werd.

We had a really really nice stay at the Casa de Vie, having a private room for the two of us. Firly and all the staff were extremely thoughtful and helped us in having a great stay there ! Room was perfectly clean, same goes for the shared spaces, and we even had a walking tour with one of the staff members, discovered the city with people from everywhere and that was one of the top moments we had in Malang ! The Price / Quality of the accomodation is perfect to us, and we clearly can feel that the staff is doing everything they can to ensure people are having a good time ! Staff were so friendly and accommodating, helping us to book tours. Location is out of central Malang, but the surrounding area is a lovely neighbourhood. Our host suggested some great local restaurants for us to enjoy. Great price, comfortable rooms, nice communal kitchen!

The host Devie and her staff were very polite and hospitable. I had some special requests, and they were quick to accommodate them during my stay. They also shared recommendations of local sights and delights, and I enjoyed all of them very much. I would recommend this stay for anyone looking for a warm and friendly place in Malang.

The wifi was a bit slow but I had an unlimited data card, so this wasn't an issue for me.

I was staying in Casa de Vie with some friends and during the whole stay they have been very helpful in arranging our pickup transportation from Surabaya airport, we booked the bromo tour with them and it was amazing! We even got nice breakfast and they really accomodate every request that we want. The bed is very comfy, I slept very well and the room is also very clean. Staffs are super friendly and helpful, not just to us but also to some other customers who stayed there too like elderly european people. They took care of them like their own parent and this is a rare service from small guest house like this. So far I enjoyed my stay there and would definitely recommend this place to anyone coming to Malang!

The place was magnificent, well equipped, and very nicely decorated. I stayed before at their hostel and it’s remarkable how they managed to maintain the same atmosphere and charm vibes. I loved their brand’s visual identity. Also they offered a fantastic tour in town, which included visiting the colorful village Klenteng, a temple, and a very beautiful walk in the heritage village. I really enjoyed it. Special thanks to the great tour guides Bilqis and Rian, they absolutely made the tour exceptional and unforgettable.

My room didn't have a window, and the bathroom had a drain that didn't work properly, so the room was damp and there was mold in the bathroom. The whole room had a strange smell because of the dampness. I stayed here for three nights, and on the last night I received a message asking if I wanted daily cleaning and for the window to be opened to the reception area while I was out, to let some air in. This information came a bit too late, since I was leaving the next day. The checkout process was also a bit confusing. They couldn’t remember whether I had paid a deposit or not, and I didn’t have any information on how to check out—whether it was enough to leave the keys on the table or how the process worked. I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Die Herzlichkeit der Mitarbeitenden ist wirklich unbeschreiblich. Wir wurde wie Familie behandelt. Besonders Feldi haben wir ins Herz geschlossen. Er hat uns jeden Wunsch von den Lippen abgelesen und ist auch menschlich wirklich eine sehr feine Seele. Die Ausflüge, die wir über die Unterkunft gebucht haben waren auch allesamt super. Wir hatten einen Defekt am Duschkopf. Dieser wurde vom Housekeeping-Mitarbeiter in kürzester Zeit ausgewechselt. Es gibt eine kostenfreie Waschmaschine inklusive Wäscheraum, eine Gemeinschaftsküche mit Wasserspender (auch mit Heißwasser) und einen Kühlschrank. Mit dem Grab-Auto kommt man trotz der etwas außerhalb liegenden Lage für 20-30k in die Stadt. Besonders können wir auch die Batik-Class empfehlen. Für 200k pro Person macht man in 3-4 Stunden sein eigenes Batik-Kunstwerk. Kann man einfach über die Unterkunft buchen. Das war sehr cute.

Unser Abfluss im Bad war leider etwas durch Haare verstopft. Da hätten wir uns etwas mehr Genauigkeit beim putzen gewünscht. Ansonsten hatten wir gar nichts zu bemängeln.

Really lovely Homestay in a fantastic location. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Free hot/cold mineral water, tea/coffee, and cooking facilities. Highlight was free use of excellent, modern washing machine!! Had a small hiccup on retrieving deposit at check out, but they resolved it swiftly and had an internal meeting to improve procedures which is very proactive and merits a higher score for them! If you stay, make sure to try the bakso with blue noodles and also visit Warung Bahagia!

Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und offen. Die Küche, Waschsalon etc. konnte im vollen Umfang benutzt werden.

Zum Teil Insekten auf dem Boden, ebenfalls ein Salamander befand sich im Zimmer. Im Endeffekt aber absolut okay für 2 Tage übernachten.

The service and the contact with Marsella is very good, she is very helpful, flexible and kind. She supports a lot with planning activities. She helped us organize to get to Bromo.

The place was a bit out of the city centre which was not a big issue if you download Grab because Malang is a car centric city, only it is a bit of a drive sometimes and leads to some extra costs. The bedroom itself was fine, the bathroom on the other hand smelled quite a bit, and there was only a window to the shared space and not a window to the outside to open.

La chambre et la maison sont très propres, spacieuses et sentent bon. Ils nettoient même ma chambre une fois par jour et laissent l'air frais entrer. Le lit, l'oreiller et la couverture sont super, super confortables. Ils ont une machine à laver, une cuisine, et du café et du thé gratuits en permanence ! Ils me demandent toujours si je me sens bien et à l'aise, et ils m'ont même demandé si j'avais passé un bon voyage après mon séjour à Malang. Ce sont des gens vraiment sincères ! J'ai aussi fait le tour en parapente avec eux, c'était super bon marché, seulement 20 euros, et c'était super amusant ! Je les recommande totalement, le rapport qualité-prix est plus que parfait. L'hébergement est super bon marché mais leur travail est vraiment excellent.

Bien que l'emplacement soit un peu éloigné du centre-ville, ce n'est pas un problème car nous avons loué une moto chez eux et nous avons beaucoup aimé nous balader.

L’emplacement est très éloigné des points stratégique. La demande de caution en cash à l’arrivée (qui nous a été rendue) mais je n’ai jamais vu ça dans une guest house. La salle de bain manque de propreté et est médiocre. Fausse promotion sur booking, l’endroit ne mérite même pas le prix remisé. Ce que nous avons le moins aimé c’est le chantage à la note booking : on nous offre une « meilleure » chambre si on promet de mettre une bonne note…

Talk about luck! I tried to book their hostel again, but they were fully booked! Luckily, I switched to their homestay, and the service was just as wonderful. While the location is a little out of town, the fantastic service completely made up for it! The room was spotlessly clean, and their bed was seriously comfortable. Being able to watch Netflix right in my room? That’s a luxury I rarely found throughout my trip in Indonesia!

The staff are lovely and friendly. The homestay is quiet which is nice. It’s also easy to organise the bromo hike and other tours from here. Nice quiet location not too far from town, a quick grab ride. The rooms were very clean and the shower is nice and hot with great water pressure.

De eigenaar was erg vriendelijk. Hij stond voor je klaar om je overal bij te helpen. De kamer was simpel maar prima.

De badkamer was niet perfect schoon en kon wat onderhoud gebruiken en de bedden waren aan de harde kant. In de buurt niet zoveel eetgelegenheden.

V našem pokoji byl zvláštní zápach, jehož zdrojem byla nejspíš umělá vůně. Nebyl žádný problém vykomunikovat to s majiteli a ti ochotně náš problém vyřešili.

My husband and I stayed there for like 3 nights. He is French and is quite picky as a person but he did not complaint at all when we stay at this homestay which is rare experience we had in Indonesia. The room is clean, the house is cute, the staffs are very helpful. We even extended 2 more nights because we enjoyed Malang City. Our experience was amazing. We did Bromo Tour with them and we even had 2 box of breakfast. They gave us a bunch of recommendation in Malang including restaurant and we went to a special bakery place that has authentic french toast for breakfast that they recommended. We loved it so much. Overall, we had a good time :)

Sometimes the noise at midnight happened when people go to Bromo, but they gave us earplugs which was helpful

I was traveling solo and I am becoming friends with Marsella, the staff as she helped me with my Bromo and Waterfall tour. The house is clean and the staff also cleaned my room once a day. The room is not big but nice, and I can use the kitchen, washing machine. I love the neighborhood too as it is in front of a rice paddle, so calm and nice.

Some wall need to be painted again but the is not a major issue

I was looking for accommodation at the last minute and luckily they had a room available. I was even able to check in in the morning, which I really appreciated. Annas took care of me throughout my stay and he was really helpful and friendly. He speaks excellent English, so I was able to ask him about interesting things to see in Malang and Indonesia in general. I definitely recommend this accommodation😊

The location is a little outside the center, but it's a quiet place and you can always order grab anywhere.

The manager Anis was really kind, he was great at answering our questions and he was very happy to just chat. The guesthouse was clean, had a small kitchen with the utilities that we needed and our room was small but nice.

The bathroom door in our room had some trouble closing but that was it and that wasn’t even annoying.

It was nice, very clean and cozy. Location is a bit far from center, but they are super cheap so it was great value of money. We did laundry and cook in the house, their facilities are great. Their tours were also amazing. The house is quite social as we also met other travelers there and we can hang out together. So far we enjoyed our stay.

The city can be very crowded and it took longer to go anywhere due to traffic jam
