The Local Are Guling

Está a unos 10-15min del centro de Kuta en una zona tranquila. Hay que tener en cuenta que el sistema de taxi en Kuta ciudad es bastante mas complicado que en otras zonas de Indonesia. Harum nos alquiló allí mismo una moto a buen precio para movernos por la zona. El staff es encantador. La habitación cumple con las fotografias, es amplia, comoda y limpia.

El lugar, la piscinita, el jardín, la habitación amplia y limpia, la ducha con una pared separadora y el desayuno muy bueno: tostadas con 3 huevos any style, zumo de piña, sandía o banana y café o té. Jordi y Sunrise fueron increíblemente amables.

Está un poco apartado y la carretera es de tierra, con desniveles varios y cuestas con piedras y socavones. A nosotras no nos pareció adecuada para coger moto y acabamos haciendo autoestop para llegar a la playa de al lado (Mawun) porque no nos ofrecieron transporte para llegar. Por suerte tiene la playa Areguling (que nos gustó mucho más que Mawun) a 15 minutos a pie y esa playa merece la pena además de ser accesible a pie.

Lo staff molto disponibile e gentile a differenza del proprietario che ha cercato soldi prima ancora di offrire servizi. Pick up aeroporto con prezzo duplicato rispetto alla norma. La struttura era ben posizionata se cerchi tranquillità, colazione ok.

La pulizia lascia a desiderare, soprattutto le asciugamani .. il bagno é tetro e ad una certa ora emana una puzza e in camera ci sono poche luci.

Super séjour, belles chambres propres et piscine très agréable. Un peu éloigné du centre de Kuta mais plus calme et plus proche des plages situées à l’Ouest de Kuta, possibilité de louer un scooter sur place ( ce qui est nécessaire pour pouvoir se déplacer…) Personnel accueillant et arrangeant. Nous avons fait du snorkelling aux Secrets Gili, une activité proposé par l’hôtel et c’était juste magnifique !

Die Unterkunft war sehr idyllisch. Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit.

Das man ohne Transport abgeschnitten ist. Ohne Roller ist man sehr isoliert.

L'extérieur est très beau avec les cabanes qui entoure la piscine.

Malheureusement, notre séjour dans cet hôtel a été très décevant. Le personnel n’est pas du tout accueillant et l’ambiance manque clairement de chaleur. Le serveur ou propriétaire ne sourit jamais et donne une impression assez froide, ce qui contraste fortement avec l’accueil chaleureux que l’on retrouve généralement chez les habitants d’Indonésie. La salle de bain était dans un état vraiment déplorable : très mal entretenue, avec des installations qui mériteraient une rénovation urgente. Nous avons également constaté ce qui ressemblait à la présence de termites, ce qui est particulièrement inquiétant.

Wunderschön gelegene Unterkunft mit großzügigen Zimmern, einem tollen Pool und einem sehr guten Frühstück. Harum, Haris und das gesamte Team sind unglaublich herzlich und hilfsbereit – wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an sehr wohlgefühlt. Wir konnten direkt vor Ort unkompliziert und günstig einen Roller für mehrere Tage mieten. Auch unsere Wäsche sowie die Transfers vom Flughafen zur Unterkunft und später nach Bangsal für unsere Weiterreise auf die Gilis wurden für uns organisiert. Alles verlief absolut reibungslos und sehr angenehm. Ein besonderes Highlight war der Geburtstag während unseres Aufenthalts: Das Team hat für uns ein BBQ mit verschiedenen lokalen Gerichten vorbereitet und gemeinsam mit uns gefeiert. Eine wirklich schöne und persönliche Überraschung, die uns in Erinnerung bleiben wird. Wir haben unsere Zeit hier sehr genossen, können die Unterkunft empfehlen und kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Nichts

Das Personal war stets freundlich und man konnte alles schnell klären. Wir haben viele lokale Tipps erhalten und auch mal mit dem Besitzer abends nett zusammengesessen! Zimmer absolut sauber und geräumig. Das Frühstück war super lecker und es war für jeden etwas dabei. Wir haben uns stets willkommen gefühlt. Der Pool ist wunderschön und man kann direkt bei der Unterkunft unkompliziert einen Roller mieten.

Leider wurde das Wasser nicht richtig warm. Es ist sehr hellhörig und durch die lauten Arbeiten draußen ab 7:00 Uhr konnte man nicht mehr schlafen.

L’extérieur est très chouette, la piscine très agréable et l’accueil a été super. La literie est ferme, ce que nous considérons comme confortable. Le petit déjeuner est correct. Il y a un super warung à 300 mètres plus loin.

La salle de bain est très vétuste, bouffée par le calcaire et des moisissures. La peinture se décolle des murs. L’ eau du lavabo à du mal à s’écouler. Le ménage est fait en apparence, il ne faut regarder dans le détail, et notamment sous le lit. On est à 15 mn de Kuta et on doit passer par l’hôtel pour un taxi. Grab ne rentre pas dans ce quartier. A savoir : nous avons vécu une mauvaise expérience avec nos hôtes qui nous ont loué des scooters. Il faut savoir qu’ici, on ne vous demande pas de permis (néanmoins nous l’avions tous), on ne vous fait aucun contrat, donc pas d’assurance. Et l’un de nous a eu un accident. Nous avons dû tout payer, hôpital et scooter. Donc à réfléchir avant de louer hors loueurs officiels. Ça a créé un petit malaise dont on se serait bien passé.

Avoir à disposition une piscine, le petit déjeuner

La vétusté de la chambre, le bruit des blocs extérieurs de Clim sur le mur de la chambre. Manque de professionnalisme du personnel de chambre, et service lent au petit déjeuner, absence d’organisation, d’anticipation ! Certains personnels non avenants. Un peu trop loin de la ville.

,Flucht nach nur zwei Tagen !!! Es fing damit an dass unsere gebuchte Unterkunft ( 2 Villen mit je 45qm ) trotz Buchungsbestätigung bei Anreise nicht verfügbar waren. Trotz aller Bemühungen war es nicht möglich eine Lösung zu finden, der Betreiber war zu keinerlei Zugeständnissen bereit. Wir erhielten sodann einen Raum mit Dusche und Waschbecken an dem nur kaltes verfügbar war, die Raumgröße lag deutlich unter 30qm. In der Dusche überall Schimmel erkennbar und die Wandfarbe blätterte von etlichen Stellen ab. Der Schlafraum wäre, wenn wir diese Kategorie gebucht hätten, angemessen gewesen. Der Schlafraum war im ersten Obergeschoss mit Palmendach wodurch alles sehr hellhörig war. Zu Schlafenszeiten ist regelmäßig ein Motorrad mit extrem lauter Auspuffanlage mehrfach direkt an unserem Guest House vorbeigefahren wodurch wir ständig aus dem Schlaf gerissen wurden. Zum Frühstück gab es eine minimale Auswahl an Speisen was eigentlich auch typisch für Gästehäuser ist ( kennen wir aus den Vorjahren ) allerdings waren davon nur maximal 50% überhaupt verfügbar. Bis dahin konnten wir alles noch irgendwie hinnehmen, bis die zweite Nacht bevorstand. Da meine Frau und ich einen recht leichten Schlaf haben, haben wir einen nächtlichen Einbruchsversuch vereiteln können. Als wir mitten in der Nacht Geräusche an der Zimmertür feststellten ist meine Frau zur Tür und hat diese blitzartig aufgerissen und eine männliche Person gestellt die in unser Zimmer eindringen wollte. Völlig perplex stand der Mann meiner Frau gegenüber und stammelte nur sorry, sorry. Ich möchte klarstellen dass es definitiv ein Einheimischer war den wir am Anreisetag im Zusammenhang mit dem Personal an der Rezeption gesehen hatten. Dieser Vorfall hat uns die Flucht ergreifen lassen. Am nächsten Morgen sind wir mit dem Taxi in die Stadt Kuta gefahren und haben uns eine andere Unterkunft für die zwei verbleibenden Tage gesucht.

Les instal.lacions estan ben cuidades, amb la zona de la piscina molt bonica. Les habitacions estan netes i son molt còmodes. El personal és amable i cuida els detalls. L'esmorzar molt bo i amb varietat per escollir. Recomanaríem aquest allotjament si es vol estar tranquil allunyat del centre de Kuta.

El wifi no funcionava gaire bé des de l'habitació. L'aigua corrent trigava bastant en sortir de la pica. Pel que fa a l'ubicació es troba a 15 minuts de Kuta.

La salle de bain pourrait être un peu plus moderne mais le reste est très bien.

Nous avons passé 3 nuits ici en Juin 2026 et nous avons apprécié notre séjour dans ce homestay. La chambre est belle et propre avec une salle de bain agréable. La piscine est magnifique ! Enfin, l’ensemble du personnel est vraiment sympathique et attentionné. Mention spécial à Harum le propriétaire des lieux ! Le petit déjeuner est bon. Nous recommandons ce homestay.

L’éclairage de la chambre est cependant assez faible et la wifi ne marche pas toujours très bien.

Simplemente increíble. Barato para lo que es como tal, los trabajadores son majísimos y te ayudan con absolutamente todo, sin querer recibir nada a cambio. Volveremos seguro, ha sido una estancia 10/10!!!

Amazing experience at the Local Are Guling during my 3 nights stay in Lombok. Great value for money and amazing pool to rest and cool off during the day, including the lovely breakfast; the staff is kind and very flexible. Highly recommened.

We stayed there for two nights and I highly recommend this place! The staff is very cordial, they welcomed us with a fresh pineapple juice, appreciated it! The room was clean and very big, with all the facilities, also a small fridge to keep some fruit and fresh water. Some cute little geckos in the room but they’re part of Indonesia and they’re not annoying, love them ahah. The breakfast was a 10/10, especially the pancakes, we tried the pineapple pancakes and banana as well, both delicious! There’s also a water bottle refill with fresh water. Perfect position if you’re a surfer to enjoy the waves in Are Guiling. Highly recommended, Terima Kasih :)

The neighbours were very noisy coming home late night, but it’s not about the property, was the only “bad thing”.

Notre chambre était infestée de fournis et malgré l'intervention du propriétaire afin de mettre un coups d'insecticide, ça ne s'est pas arrêté tout de suite. La clope goûtait sur le lit

Arum et son équipe sont de belles personnes aux petits soins avec leur invités, nous y avons fait de belles rencontres et ils ont même organisé un Barbecue de mahi-mahi pendant que l'on était là ! Une superbe expérience, si on retourne à Lambok on sait où aller !

Petit dej inclu mais assez léger il nous a fallu payer un supplément car nous n'avions pas assez ... Salle de bain fonctionnelle mais ne pas hésiter a nettoyer les murs sur lesquels des moustiques sont écrasés depuis longtemps. Attention logement a 10 min de centre ville de Kuta et sur une pente dangereuse en scooter !

A hidden gem just outside the chaos of central Kuta. My stay at The Local Are Guling was made truly special by Harum and his team—they were consistently warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, always going the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable. The restaurant served delicious food, and it felt like they really cared about every detail of the experience. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing, this place is a perfect escape from the crowds. I left feeling well looked after and would absolutely return.

Minor construction across the road from time to time but the hotel cannot control that situation.

The place was beautiful, the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Harum who helped us with anything we needed. The place is relaxing and chill. The breakfast is also delicious.

Some problems with electricity and bike we rented (it was a little beat down).

Lorsque nous sommes arrivés , il y avait un cendrier avec des cigarettes sur le balcon ainsi qu’une capsule de bière !!! Le tapis de bain degueulasse, la salle de bain et la douchette des toilettes très sales !! Et pas de papier toilette… Le ménage n’a jamais été fait de notre séjour ( seulement retaper le lit!!! Et encore …) Le personnel est avachi sur leur téléphone toujours une cigarette à la bouche . Impossible d’avoir une boisson fraîche pendant 3 jours car rien dans les frigos … Nous avions 3 chambres et les 2 à l’étage étaient dans le même état par contre la chambre du rdc coté piscine était mieux . C’est dommage d’avoir un établissement et de ne pas l’entretenir…

The room was really nice, Bali style high roof. Great value for money for the room. Bathroom was ok. Pool was nice.

One of the manager Harum sent us many weird confusing messages about moving rooms. Also said would come to look at TV because it wasn't working but never did. Said we had to pay for an extra night after previously agreeing to move our booking back a day as we had a flight cancellation. This made us quite stressed and made us feel uncomfortable. The WiFi didn't reach the room.

Plage la plus proche trop moche. Nous n'avons pas apprécié , sommes partis et ce n'est pas difficile de trouver bien mieux et moins cher...

Desde mi perspectiva la única desventaja es la ubicación. Para moverte a cualquier lado necesitas de alquilar una moto o auto y manejar. Tampoco llegan Grabs. No queda exactamente en Kuta, por lo que si quieres movida solcial, restaurantes o supermercados, tienes que ir hasta ahí.

Asukoht oli väga eraldatud. Rendiautoga polnud võimalik hoovi sõita. Pidime parkima tänaval. Hommikusöök polnud suurem asi. Puudus isegi väike või ja dzemmi pakike. Ja kõige rohkem peaks personal pöörama tähelepanu koristamisele! Mustust ja lohakust oli näha kõikjal.

Clean and modern room, very spacious, with minibar and large bathroom, also large balcony and air conditioning. Friendly staff and good conversation. We were able to have free water in the bar as many times as we wanted and that helped a lot, we ate only once in the restaurant and it was very tasty, the best mi goreng I tried in Indonesia, but it was second choice since they did not have what I asked for in the first place (that made us eat the rest of the days elsewhere). They offer scooter rental and we take it for two days. Also laundry service

I would love to say that despite being a beautiful room we always slept well, but far from that. We understand that the sound of the mosque and the roosters is not their fault at all but in addition to that; We had noisy gecko, the big ones! In our room, which we saw and did not let us sleep when we woke up twice a night, which also pooped on our sheet and that we found by surprise after a long day at the beach, that day before leaving the room we left the sign of please do the cleaning service, which, oh surprise was not done because we did not leave it open without a key (no one ever warned us, we assumed they had a key) and when we returned it was not only uncleaned but with gecko poop in bed. We didn’t have internet in the room any of the 4 days we were there and no one told us in advance that it would be like this. The air conditioning dripped on our heads every time we were lying down on bed. We gave clothes for laundry one noon and they said that for the next noon it would be done which was not the case and it took 2 days, because a member forgot to pick it up so we slept with dirty clothes that night. In the breakfast, where we just starts the day, always the staff (4/5 people) smoking a lot and talking loudly next to the guests and it is really ugly to eat and start the day like this.

Quizás algo alejado del ambiente de Kuta, con oscuridad en la carretera para poder llegar a Kuta. La carretera de acceso al hotel provoca resbalones y en nuestro caso una caída con la moto.

We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The staf was super friendly & helped us out with all of our questions. We could rent a motorcycle, which was needed because Kuta is a 15 minutes drive away. We gave our laundry and they washed it for us. Our room was clean. Nice little swimming pool to refresh :)

When we had dinner a cat was miauwing & even jumped on the table. That was not very pleasant. The staf tried to keep them away though. Our last evening I had a question but there was no one who could speak English at the time. I asked to call someone, but that was not possible. Other than that: nothing we did not like!

Ik heb het hier echt super erg naar mijn zin gehad. De host is heel fijn en er zijn altijd mensen die een praatje met je aan willen gaan als je daar zelf behoefte aan hebt. Het ontbijt is erg lekker, vooral de pancakes. De kamer is schoon, groot en voldoet aan alle verwachtingen. Het enige waar je rekening mee moet houden, dat je een scooter huurt om rond te rijden want die heb je nodig om naar leuke plekjes te gaan.

Eigenlijk viel er weinig tegen. Alleen het dak was niet helemaal afgesloten zoals we in Nederland gewend zijn waardoor er af en toe salamander of andere kleinere beestje naar binnen glipten. Maar heel erg was dit niet. Ze komen namelijk niet echt in de buurt van je spullen of bed.

Sauberer Pool, tolle große Zimmer, sehr idyllisch. Leckerer Willkommensdrink. Das Dorf und der Strand Areguling sind sehr zu empfehlen - local und wenig Touristen. Roller konnte problemlos über die Unterkunft organisiert werden.

Das Frühstück war lecker aber sehr einseitig & einige Optionen immer nicht erhältlich. Sich länger am Pool aufhalten & hinlegen ist nicht besonders angenehm, da man mitten drin auf dem Präsentierteller liegt.

the only good thing here is the swimming pool area. I've read very good comments about breakfast, we had it there for two days, one of them was good an the other one was just OK.

In Local Are Guling this is what you get: a room with humidity problems, all the walls are loosing the paint due to this problem, you can feel it also by the smell. The toilet is horrendous, we were disgusted by it and even taking a shower felt unsanitary. We rented two scooters with them and in less than 24h we had to change the battery in a local mechanic. When we called asking for help (and for them to take care of the matter) we were told that they could not help us because they were in a different city in that moment. Another perk of chooing them. Moreover the location is not good. Is very far away from everything and you need a scooter if you want to go out, even if it’s just for dinner or going for a walk. The pool area is nice and the breakfast too, but you can find that anywhere else. In conclusion: avoid this hotel at all costs.

The place is really new and clean. The location is quiet but still 10 min ride to kuta and the staff were super friendly. They helped us with everything we needed and made the stay very pleasant.

Le meilleur hôtel de tout mon voyage. Au calme et proche de la ville et des plages. De plus le staff est surement l'un des plus gentils que j'ai rencontré. En plus de bien s'occuper de l'établissement et des invités, ils sont amicaux et nous ont donné des conseils pour visiter la région. Le petit déjeneur est très bon, surout les banana pancakes, qui vont beaucoup me manquer.

J'aurais aimé pouvoir rester plus longtemps.

Nada más llegar, descubrimos que el transporte desde el puerto no estaba incluido, aunque en la reserva parecía indicar que sí (si veis qué ofrece sale traslado). Sin previo aviso, nos cobraron un precio más alto que otras opciones disponibles A parte, nos ofrecieron unas motos (tienen servicio para ello) por el doble de lo que hay en el mercado en Lombok, lo cual también nos sento mal El personal fue amable, pero encontramos el alojamiento algo descuidado: el baño necesitaba más limpieza, las barandillas estaban oxidadas, no se realizó la limpieza de la habitación pese a solicitarlo y, la última noche, la luz no funcionaba

Très bel hôtel dans un quartier très calme. La piscine est très agréable et propre ! La chambre était très propre, une belle hauteur sous plafond, un grand balcon, un lit très confortable,...Vous pouvez louer des scooters, manger au restaurant sur place,... Bref rien à redire. Nous ne comprennons pas les mauvais commentaires. Oui il y a des oiseaux et des geckos mais rien d'anormal en Indonésie et c'est même plutôt agréable de se sentir entouré par de la nature !

La ubicación. Está retirado de Kuta aunque en moto se llega bien.
