The view from the hotel is great: directly on the sea, with a private access by low tide. 5min walk and you can swim with big turtles with the help of locals. Room size is good, English breakfast was generous and the staff very nice and supportive to deal and communicate with (they even allowed us to extend our stay by 2 hours after checkout).

It's a very basic hotel, with rooms required some improvement/refreshment and maintenance, as well as better wifi connectivity. The location on the sea is great, but you have nothing else around and you will need a car for everything (except to the natural swimming pool). Good place for one night, but would not extend above this.

Lovely family, good breakfast. Exceptional coral beach, sandy beach is also easily accessible. Comfy rooms. Away from the touristy part of Ulawatuna but easily accessible to town and restaurants.

The staff is super helpful, the breakfast was delicious and the view is amazing. A very good place to spend some days at the beach.

Je zit echt aan het strand. De zee was wel vrij ruig met sterke stroming toen wij er waren. Elke ochtend een zeer uitgebreid ontbijt. De familie doet er alles aan om je te helpen.

Sehr gute Lage, direkt am Strand. Natürliche Wasserbecken vor dem Haus. 600 Meter weiter , Schildröten hautnah. Sehr freundliches Personal. Gutes Frühstück. Die Zimmer sind Basic, mit Meeresblick und Balkon. Es gibt nur 5 Zimmer . Familienbetrieb. Gutes Internet.

Aufgrund von Feiertagen war de Strand von morgens bis abends sehr voll. Auf dem Nachbargrundstück kamen die Buse reihenweise an. Dafür konnten unsere Gastgeber nichts.

Heel fijne B&B met heel vriendelijke gastvrouw. Prachtige lokatie aan het strand met mooie uitzichten. De kamer was geheel naar wens, lekkere bedden, goede airco, mooie badkamer

complimentary tuk tuk transportation from the location to the train station. The view from the room balcony was fantastic, although being partially obscured by some coconut trees; you could see and enjoy the beauty of the ocean. When asked to organize lunch, they did so swiftly, and the portion was more than adequate for three persons.

Fabulous place to stay, amazing staff beautiful location

The location is truly magical! From your balcony, it feels like you can jump right into the water, and the view is simply breathtaking. I've never seen anything quite like it. The natural pools are a unique experience and well worth seeing. And to top it off, just around the corner, you can easily meet a turtle that swims up to you and munches on seaweed. It's a truly unforgettable experience!

The distance from the nearby towns is a lot. But we were aware of this. Breakfast should be improved. It wasn’t that amazing sorry 🥹

We had a great 4 days in Asa Bay Beach. Extremely friendly staff. It was very clean. The view is breathtaking. Every morning turtles come to the beach and we swam with them, it was an amazing experience. Here we ate the most delicious Kottu in Sri Lanka. Thanks for the stay Asa Bay Beach!

Comfortable beds. Location just beside sea. Amazing view from balcony Most friendly, welcoming, helpful family members owning the hotel Swimming is very good in morning hours when sea is more calm and water is still clean. Swimming is safe due to natural coral wall protection in the sea.

Smell in bathroom. No restaurants in vicinity (food delivery from their own restaurant -which is not on location- is possible, but taste of food we order once was not really good). Parties in nearby private villas with loud music cause serious problems to this hotel, altough owners and staff do everything possible to intervene in such cases. Sea is pretty rough and dirty in afternoon.

Unfortunately I got bed bugs in the room on the second floor on the right, my whole body is covered with bug bites. The management of the facility denied the problem and moved me to another room. A run-down hotel in front of the sea with all the furniture old and worn out. The building seems to be falling apart. The sun beds are so worn out and dirty. The bathroom smells like sewage and hot water is only available if the tank is not empty. As almost always in Sri Lanka they do not accept credit card payments.

I booked late during Christmas high season, and was so lucky to get a room here! The view does not disappoint! The bed was super comfortable, with mosquito net, aircon, ceiling fan; all in perfect working order. A couple of times the WiFi was slow, but the management immediately remedied the situation. Holiday calls necessitated good connectivity, otherwise, a book and a breath is all you need here. Breakfast was standard compared to most of my travels in these parts, but the generous and attentive service was exceptional. The terrace provides access to a sandy beach in one direction, and a natural stone ledge in the other, providing a more immersive “pool” like situation. Like everywhere on Sri Lanka, the currents are strong, so kids need attention continuously. I booked several activities through the hotel, which was helpful and convenient. Neighborhood tips: Kat’s Cafe up the street inland, and Shanti Shanti for beachside meals and a great sunset! Absolutely a perfect stay for my purposes!

Do bring cash, unless you’re paying through some booking service. This hotel, and most attractions, do not take cards. Also, bathroom toiletries are basic, so bring your personal preferences for shampoo, etc. A substantial drawback is that the couple of local businesses were the only spots at walking distance. Management provides really easy access to a tuktuk, but you end up spending something (even if it’s cheap) every time you walk outside the gate. It is pretty consistent with traveling the island as a whole, as roadside walking isn’t great, particularly after dark. But if you want to be in the thick of things, with restaurants and shopping close by, this may not be the place. On the other hand - all you hear at night are the waves!

I loved the view from my room and balcony. The staff was very friendly and made sure we were comfortable.

Their dinner could be better, as the battered prawns and pineapple fritters were a bit clumpy. This was not a problem, since there were lots of restaurants nearby.

The room and the bathroom are big, equipped with everything you need. The structure is just in front of the sea! All the staff is very welcoming and help you to organise your stay in best possibile way!

Nirocha and her family were adorable and very attentive to us, she advised us on visits and even negotiated for us a long distance taxi or the making of a piece of jewelry by a local jeweler at a very attractive price and a workmanship  very well done.  Located on the seafront with a natural swimming pool at the foot of the hotel.  There are even some kinds of bathtubs that have been dug into the reef.  The restaurant was excellent and plentiful as was the breakfast (sri lankan for us but they also provide continentale ones).  There are 5 rooms, we had one of the two upper rooms equipped with air conditioning and WiFi.  A king size four-poster bed with mosquito net.  Really a very nice surprise especially for the human quality of Nirocha and his whole family.  Thank you for this great stay. .

The room was lovely with a beautiful view and balcony to enjoy the sea below. It was very clean and had comfortable linen and a great AC and fan! The staff were all friendly and went the extra mile to help when I asked if we could use the main fridge to keep things cool. There were great restaurants to Tuk Tuk to for amazing dinner which were less than 3km away! The pools to swim in, in front of the villa were great and there was a lovely calm bay.

The communal area to sit downstairs and watch the waves is very small so if the residence is full you wouldn't have much personal space.

The location is awesome with superb hosts. They take care of you like a family and ensure your time spent is worth it. It is one of the best places to stay in.

The bed was comfortable, the shower was great with the big water dispenser. The view from the balcony was amazing. The people working at the hotel are always there to help you. The breakfast is very nutritious and tasty. You can always ask to add or change something in it.

Nothing about the hotel really. Maybe just the thing that there's no supermarket or active restaurant in walking distance. But as for the hotel itself, everything was great!

Such a warm staff who give you that feeling of a home away from home!

A family run hotel in great location. Right next to Talpe natural pools. It gets busy during the day but in the morning and evenings Its like a private pool. Excellent customer service and they will go beyond to make sure you are well taken care of. Quiet location and close to Galle and Weligama. Good places in walking distance for eating/drinking. Thank you Wasantha & the family for being great hosts.
