Reviewed Mar 10, 2026Very clean, modern, comfortable property, 5 minutes from airport and quite but close to main road with all facilities. Amazing staff! Very welcoming, helpful and kind, best host I’ve ever had!
Just a little issue with the light turning on and off with movement, so it may be uncomfortable.

Reviewed Mar 8, 2026Only stayed for a few hours but the staff were super lovely. The owner even made sure to be up to help me with a tuk tuk. Would recommend if you have an early flight or arriving late. Just make sure you go to the right entrance! Also a few places are around to get food.
The only issue is the light in the room is motion censored...so if someone moves it comes on. Hopefully this is a setting easy to fix!

Reviewed Mar 6, 2026Nice host, really close to the airport. Bed was comfy and room and bathrooms were clean and hot water in the showers.
The light in the dorms operates on an automatic timer when it detects movement, which I really suggest being changed. Since this is an airport hostel people are coming and going at all times of day so I got woken up by the light automatically turning on from someone coming in late at night. And as well I felt bad because I had to get up really early for my flight so I probably woke people up because the light just goes on. Really suggest this being changed to a regular light - people know how to conduct themselves with the big light in hostels. Especially because each bed has its own light a timer big light is really unnecessary and just made the stay uncomfortable for me to be honest.

Reviewed Aug 15, 2025The owner woke up to check me in at 3.30 am. He was such sweet soul, very nice and friendly and helpful and doing his best to meet his clients half way. Also enjoyed talking to him, the property is beautifully maintained, they have a rooftop where I could do my yoga practice, it is a true haven indeed.

Reviewed Aug 13, 2025Het hostel ziet er heel mooi, sfeervol en schoon uit. Het is ideaal voor wanneer je naar het vliegveld gaat/van het vliegveld afkomt want het is maar 5 min met de tuktuk. Het lekkerste bed en meest fijne kamer waar ik in mijn maand Sri Lanka geslapen heb.

Reviewed Apr 2, 2025If you are looking for a quiet place near the airport on your trip to Sri Lanka, then I can highly recommend Traveler's Haven. Of all the hotels I visited, this was the most special. It is an oasis, a beautifully designed place. With a yoga/chill platform, kitchen, beautiful garden, comfortable beds and clean showers and dorms - and the price-performance ratio is top! Nalin is a great host, very friendly and puts a lot of heart and soul into his hostel. I can highly recommend this accommodation! Thank you very much Nalin!!! I wish you all the best for your life :)

Reviewed Apr 2, 2025Stayed here for a night before our flight. The hosts were very nice and helpful. The room was clean and had everything you need. Only 10 minutes to the airport meant it was very useful. The pillows are quite thick, and were a bit awkward to sleep on.

Reviewed Mar 25, 2025The aircon in the room was super cold, and they only give you one thin piece of linen to sleep under. I eventually got up at 3am to wake up the manager to adjust the setting as the aircon remote is not in the room. The main light in the dorm in on a motion sensor, which means if anyone moves then the bright light goes on - it's really not practical if someone gets up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom or something, it wakes up the whole room. The showers are cold, dirty and lacks any hangers to hang your change of clothes. I will not come back here nor recommend this to other people.

Some mosquitoes in the kitchen. Obviously it's hard to do something with them. Just noticing that you can expect them especially during some specific time (before the sunset).

Reviewed Jan 8, 2025This place is a hidden gem! From the main street and alley leading to the hostel, I wasn't expecting anything great but was pleasantly surprised. It's a really nice spacious hostel with a garden, nice art and the dorms are very clean with enough storage for your stuff. Air con is a plus! They even have a kitchen with coffee and tea. The owner is also very lovely and accommodating. Perfect distance from the airport. Highly recommend!

Reviewed Dec 1, 2024Nalin is just such a kind, caring and creative soul. I think the accommodation is very unique with the tent style beds and the old shipping containers. Everything was spotless and the bed were super comfy! Almost slept better in them than my own bed :D. Nalin arranged the tuk tuk to the airport for me since I had an early flight and even got up himself that early because he always wants to make sure that all his guests arrive safely. After a few cups of tea we spend talking, I‘m exited to come back at some point and see how this place is continuing to develop. I think it’s already a 10/10 but Nalin has lots of great ideas to make this place even more special. See you next time! :)
