Fantastic place all round and great staff
Nothing it was all great
Beautifully renovated in a polished concrete and chic style with a superb pool and incredible location next to the turtle centre and a lovely Restaurant on the beach. Breakfast was generous and served by a lovely local man. Kelly the owner was friendly and very helpful as we arrived - even was kind enough to lend us 5000Lkr to buy dinner at the Oruwa restaurant (owned by a great guy Thilina) to save us having to jump in a tuk tuk and go to the ATM which was very kind of her. She clearly has great taste and a background in renovations. Kelly was very open and honest about some previous reviews, but we speak as we find and we found her very personable with no issues We also had free use of an open area upstairs for chilling out and use of fridge and access to water which when travelling is a real bonus thanks again Kelly.
Nothing.
Sehr schön, ich war hier zum 2. Mal
OMG!! The woman of the place who was screaming in a room! We left quickly away from hotel.
Wonderful We had an amazing stay at this beautiful little boutique hotel. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was yummy, the rooms had high-end linens, and the pool was brand new and so pristine. Galbokka beach, in our opinion, is one of the best beaches on the west coast of the island. There are lots of attractions and things to do in the area, but then you come back to the hotel to peace and tranquility. We will be back again someday.
Peaceful and Relaxing I recently stayed at this beautifully renovated hotel situated next to the ocean and just steps away from stunning Galbokka Beach. This hidden gem offers a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. The beach is gorgeous and pristine and very private. The hotel is located next to the turtle rehabilitation center, and in the evening, we released baby turtles. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a tranquil escape in a gorgeous setting.
Beautiful We absolutely loved our stay here. The hotel is open to natural surroundings and has a really calm vibe to it. The gorgeous pool, the busy monkeys, and the friendly staff made our stay memorable. It is next to a lovely beach with incredible sunsets and good swimming. We would recommend this to anyone looking to enjoy nature and recharge their soul.
Ohh my god! Horrible place. Our expectation was very high about the place. After we arrived we heard screaming. Then a woman loudly screaming and aggressive. Finally knew she is the host of the place . The woman looks like addicted to drugs or alcohol . Not safe place to stay!
We had a lovely time here! The staff is very nice and prepared varying breakfasts every day. The sound of the ocean makes a comfortable white noise.
The staff is very good and helpful. They wanted to manage the problem. They are really kind. But the owner of the place kelly was really violence and behavior is very aggressive. Then we couldn’t find another accommodation suddenly in the night. So disappointed. we faced lot of troubles because of her
unfortunately the owner Kelly she is screaming loudly and running fully naked around us and the premise. (We have the pictures and photos to proof this) Also loudly shouting Really sad about this situation and this is not suitable to accommodate to anyone here . Also we are writing this to the booking.com community. Not suitable to stay and really unsafe.
I absolutely enjoyed staying at this villa, with its open spaces surrounded by trees in which monkeys were feeling at home, playing, eating... The pool felt really nice to cool off, breakfast was served with care, and the staff was super attentive, kind and friendly. There's attention to detail all around the property. The beach is a few steps away, and there's a feeling of wilderness about it, which I enjoyed as I try to stay away from the crowds.
The owner and her staff were just lovely and couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. The villa and pool and garden is a beautiful oasis and we would definitely return again. There is a beautiful almost deserted beach on the doorstep and a chance to pop into the turtle hatchery and see all the good work they do
Our only small criticism was the shower as it was very poor in terms of pressure and getting warm/hot water.
Beautifully designed and well thought-out small hotel just a step away from a dream beach. Really nice pool (area). Very quiet. Sri Lankan breakfast was amazing, too. And most importantly, Kelly was super nice hostess and the staff was very friendly. Food in the restaurant on the beach was yummy. You cannot ask for more.
Nothing
Luxurious villa by the ocean. Beautiful beach, which is a few steps away, and on which there are almost no people. Heavenly views, very friendly staff, delicious and healthy breakfast. The villa has an atmosphere conducive to meditation. Guests have at their disposal a swimming pool with the option of hydromassage. Water, fridge, tea. After leaving the room, we could stay longer in the facility to enjoy the sunny day and rest. It was very nice of the owner. Great price-quality ratio.
We stayed at this villa for 5 days. Let me start with the positives: — We liked the location of the villa. You will truly feel secluded, as there are very few people on this part of the beach. — The villa staff, Jayanta and Charith, were kind, responsive, and welcoming. Thank you to them. — The room was clean, and the bed linen was white and fresh, which is rare for Sri Lanka. The common areas were also pleasant. — The breakfasts were quite specific, but overall, you can find something to your liking.
Overall, everything was fine—until the last day. On the last day of our stay at the villa, the owner, Kelly, started behaving inappropriately. We suspect she was intoxicated. Around 2 p.m., she began running around the villa grounds, shouting profanities like “F## you,” “I will not,” and “I don’t care.” She was howling, screaming, and breaking various items on the property. It was extremely frightening. She yelled at her staff, and no one could calm her down. We were on the second floor and didn’t dare to come downstairs because of this. This went on for several hours. Then she fell asleep in the common area on a couch. Later, she woke up, and it all started again—screaming, yelling, and destroying things. Even late at night, she continued screaming. Early the next morning (our departure day), Kelly was shouting again and acting strangely. When we were having breakfast, she simply said, “Good morning,” and acted as if everything was fine. I am not sure if staying at this place is safe, and I cannot imagine what would happen if someone were staying there with children during such an incident. We were in shock and ready to leave immediately, but since it was our last day and we had specific plans, we stayed. However, we couldn’t sleep properly that last night because of what happened. I also have a video of the incident. I ask Booking to pay attention to this matter.
We booked this accommodation only 15 min in advance due to tuktuk difficulties, but they did their very best to have everything ready for the night and breakfast. They were very kind. Good location next to a local restaurant and a turtle reservation with super kind local men that showed us a beautiful peace of beach. The rooms itself are basic but have a lot of animals.
There was no hot water and the bathroom was not that clean.
The Villa is open and spacious and has a really relaxed feel to it. Jayantha and the owners are so welcoming and want nothing more then to make your stay special.
I liked everything and could not find any faults worth mentioning.
We loved the vegetation around the villa and the beautiful beach nearby. Jayantha could not have been nicer, made us feel very much at home.
Pity it is not possible to have dinner at the villa - unless you cook your own.
The house is a stones throw away from the beach. It’s beautiful and so peaceful. The caretaker was so kind and helpful looking after us.
Nothing!
Warm welcome, peace and quiet, lovely house. Nice restaurant Susa’s a short tuktuk ride away. And it’s right next to turtle hatchery and lovely deserted beach
Nothing!
Very nice villa, artistically build and arranged, you could feel the touch of Poet in every corner. Wonderful place to listen to the sea brief and and sounds silence. Thank you, Zahra, for your books of Poems: "The sounds of Silence " and "Faces of Love" which enriched me! Would love to stay at your villa longer!
Surprise, but you cant go to the beach straight from the villa's garden, instead you need to go outside villa to the road. The beach is not private, several villas, restaurants, turtles watch institution always crowded on the shore. Pity that tasty breakfast was not included in the hotel price and was a bit overpriced.
So quiet and peaceful compared to other Sri Lanka beaches. You have the beach almost to yourself, and the village across the road is beautiful. The host was so nice and helpful, makes really good breakfast (both european and sri Lanka food) and it was nice to chill around the place.
As a solo traveller the area was for me sometimes too quiet, not a good chance to find fellow backpackers, so Kosgoda is mostly for peaceful and non-commercial holiday.
Really enjoyed are stay here beautiful peaceful villa the beach is stunning and jayantha could not do enough for you he runs the whole place breakfast was great help your self to coffee and tea amazing thank you jayantha for everything you done.
We loved it! Super comfortable and clean. Jayantha made sure the moskito net was tucked in for us. Beautiful garden and just in front of our favourite beach on the island.
Nothing
It felt like being Home! Jayantha was such a great host and breakfast on the terrace was fantastic

Wonderful place in a quiet neighbourhood 1 minute from the beach. There was practically nobody at the beautiful long sandy beach. Our housekeeper was incredibly helpful and warm-hearted, the house was clean and SríLanka style breakfast simply amazing.
Minor reparations to the house would help
Beautiful garden, amazing breakfast and great, helpful staff to help out with whatever you may need. The beach is only a couple of minutes walk away and almost empty.
We loved the location in front of the beach which was nearly private, clean and perfect to swim. We enjoyed the missing infrastructure meaning no parties etc. Jayantha, our host, was so kind and welcoming we felt right at home so we decided to stay one night longer. The room was very clean, spacious and with a great view to the sea. The breakfast was rich and delicious, we were surprised by a different dish every morning. For dinner we highly recommend Susa ’s Restaurant at Ahungalla. Red sun was the perfect stay for our last days in Sri Lanka and we would have loved to stay longer.
Staff is really friendly and helpful. Provided more comfort during our stay.
Super breakfast and nearest view of beach
It would be better if can add with another room or two to the current structure.
