The Rock Samui Beach Resort

The most beautiful hostel—it was my first time staying in a hostel, and it was truly perfect. Large, clean rooms; the staff are incredibly lovely; you feel right at home, and everything is very luxurious. The pool is great, as is the beach. It’s not overcrowded—very peaceful. It’s located a bit outside the center, but everything is easily accessible via Grab and Bolt.

Très bel hôtel, propre et agréable, avec une belle chambre et un lit confortable. La salle de bain est spacieuse et le personnel est très à l’écoute et accueillant. Le petit-déjeuner est gratuit et très appréciable. L’hôtel dispose également d’une belle piscine. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour, c’était vraiment bien !

The staff was definitely the highlight of this stay, they went over and beyond for their guests. So friendly, smiley and helpful! I had the best time ever the place was clean and the view was spectacular. Cannot recommend this place enough, it was my favourite out of all my stays in southeast asia! Thank you to the staff for their kindness and I will definitely be coming back soon.

The best hostel I have stayed in so far and I have been to a lot of hostels in the last few months! There is so much included like a shared kitchen + lounge on the rooftop with an amazing view, free washing, free kayak rental, amazing swimming pool with oceanview and everything is clean! The rooms are specious with a big locker and the 6 bedroom dorm even has a sofa corner and separated kitchen with a fridge/sink and seating area. And the staff is super nice and helpful as well. I also liked the location. It's a little outside but 7-eleven is within walking distance and it's because it's a little outside it's quieter and not as touristy which I really enjoyed. Overall I had a great stay and would always come back :)

Best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Honestly insane for the price. The staff are so so nice and make you feel welcome straight away. The rooms are really clean and everything feels super modern and well looked after. It honestly feels more like a luxury hotel than a hostel. Could not recommend it enough.

Beautiful location, facilities are great free kayaking free washing clothes and drying. Free breakfast it’s unreal for the price I didn’t think I was at a hostel at all. Booked two nights ended up staying almost a week. Feel so at peace and content here.

I really loved my stay at this hostel. The territory is beautiful and well maintained, with a lovely swimming pool and a private beach, which made the whole experience feel very peaceful and relaxing. The area is quiet and calm, far away from parties and overcrowded tourist spots, which was exactly what I was looking for. The staff were truly exceptional — always polite, friendly, and incredibly helpful. Communication with them was very easy and comfortable, and they really made the stay even better.

10/10 Stars! Phenomenal service & best atmosphere in Samui ​: I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! My stay at "The Rock" was absolutely amazing, mainly due to the phenomenal service. I have never seen such a dedicated team anywhere in the world. The management and staff truly go above and beyond to make customers happy. ​A perfect example: One guest dropped her phone into the sea at the beach, and the manager immediately sent a staff member to help search for it until it was found. That's the level of care here. A huge thank you to the manager Greimo, the assistant manager Chaw, the chef, and all the waiters – you are all simply amazing. ​The Place & Facilities: ​Location: You have direct access to the beach. It's super close to the "Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks" (Hin Ta & Hin Yai) – I took the hostel's kayak for a workout there and it was fun! ​Amenities: There is snorkeling gear you can borrow, a great pool, and laundry machines (washer & dryer). ​Vibes & Work: The rooftop attic is stunning with a great view and plenty of space – perfect for co-working or just having a drink. ​Food: The on-site restaurant serves excellent food. ​Rooms: I stayed in the 6-bed dorm. It was very spacious, well-maintained, super clean, and high quality. ​Extras: You can rent a scooter right at the reception (if available) and they help book taxis or boat trips to other islands. The atmosphere is very friendly and social, the guests are nice and chilled – I didn't encounter any trouble at all. ​I can't thank you enough for the service and my stay. If you are debating whether to book – just do it!

Das Hotel an sich ist super schön, nur einige Stufen zum Infinity- Pool direkt am Strand, es war toll. Das Meer dort war großartig zum Schwimmen, sauber und schön. Am Dach darf man kostenlos seine Wäsche waschen, total toll.

Das Preis- Leistungs- Verhältnis ist nicht optimal. Die Zimmer sind wirklich schön und toll ausgestattet, aber die Zimmer werden nur nach mehrmaliger Aufforderung gesäubert und manchmal gar nicht. Das ist bei dem Preis nicht akzeptabel. Außerdem war das Frühstück nicht inklusive und kostet minimal 250 Bath aufwärts was auch ganz schön zu Biche schlägt. Die Lage ist nicht optimal, Supermarkt und Restaurants zu Fuß mindestens 10 Minuten entfernt, man muss an einer 4- Spurigen stark befahrenen Straße gehen teilweise ohne Gehsteige, mit Kind absolut unoptimal. Wir haben für jede Unternehmung ein Taxi gebraucht. Zum Glück funktioniert Grab super.

Dat je alles in bereik had. Er was een privé strand, privé zwembad, schone kamers, zelfs fasciliteiten zoals een wasmachine zodat je je eigen was kon draaien en een dakterras. Ook ben ik verrast met een taart voor m’n verjaardag. Had niet vertelt dat ik jarig was. Had zo iets nog nooit ervaren. Het was een en al een uitstekende ervaring!

Einziger Nachteil ist bei Buchung von Zimmern mit Meerblick, dass man die Ring Road und den Verkehr quasi 24/7 als Dauergeräusch hat.

Très bel établissement. La pisicine en front de mer. L’ambiance vraiment familiale. Les différentes activités proposées par l’hôtel (excursions). La décoration et propreté des chambres ainsi que le personnel très sympathique.

Rustig, mooi, vriendelijk. Alles 15/20 minuten van het hotel vandaan. Maar helemaal prima. Heerlijke omgeving. Schone hotel.

I've stayed in multiple hostels around the island and this one is easily the best by far. Super friendly staff, good bedrooms, good food, amazing place by the beach & pool.

For me it was okay, but make sure you rent a scooter to get places.

The Rock is my favorite place to stay on Koh Samui. The rooms are clean and there's anything you need to stay comfortable, the beach view is beautiful and the staff here is awesome, soo helpful and friendly

All the crew was so kind, helping and there for everything we needed! They cared that it was our honeymoon and make us feel amazing!

Incomprensioni varie per una camera che veniva presentata con foto di ampia cucina e Zona.living privata che poi si é rivelata da condividere. In spiaggia non ci sono sdraio, la marea é sempre bassa quindi non si riesce a fare il bagno e ci si deve spostare in altre spiaggie. Lavori in Corso su buona parte della struttura. non c'e la possibilita di cenare o pranzare in spiaggia e vicino alla piscina da dove si vede il mare

The location was outstanding...not on a swimming beach but close to one and the pool was magnificent for a dip. The staff were amazing! So friendly and helpful!

I liked it all. They were finishing off a few renovations but this did not bother us or interfere with our stay

Plaża przy hotelu mała i zanieczyszczona. Dużo kamieni dobrze mieć buty do wody. W hotelu nie ma wieczorem co robić. Nie ma baru ani restauracji. W pobliżu market nocny ale nie polecam lepiej już jechać do Lamai na targ nocny.

The Rock was a beautiful place. Staff was amazing and the place itself is beautiful. We stayed in the ocean front villa, which is actually three separate “rooms”. A kitchen - stove, fridge, toaster and toaster oven, kettle, etc, with place to sit to eat and a toilet. Then two separate suites for sleeping etc. We were two couples, so perfect for us. Pool is amazing and there’s a nice shady room right off the pool to get out of the sun. Beach is pretty, but not a swimming beach. When the tide is very high you could get in, but otherwise, too shallow and coral right off shore. This place is walkable to Lamai beach, but it’s about 20 minutes, about ten minutes along a very busy road. You can’t get to Lamai by walking on the beach (big rocks in the way). There are a few restaurants in the other direction, but again, you’re walking along a busy road. The Rock itself serves breakfast and lunch. Their kitchen closes at 4pm. A small breakfast was included with our room, which was a beautiful cappuccino and two small, delicious waffles, all delivered to our kitchen. The staff at the Rock is exceptional, and accommodated us wonderfully. They helped us arrange massages in our rooms, and guided us to finding restaurants, etc. Our flight was in the evening, well after checkout, but we were able to stay in the poolside room all day.

Rollerverleih ohne Kaution zu günstigen Preisen, kleiner aber feiner Pool, Kanuverleih inklusive, Café mit Frühstücksangeboten direkt angeschlossen, gute Lage für Ausflüge mit dem Roller

Strandabschnitt durch viele, teils scharfkantige Felsen am/im Wasser zum Baden ungeeignet, ungepflegter Strandbereich mit viel Unrat, zum Hauptstrand muss man leider die Straße entlang, man kann mit den hauseigenen Kanus/Kajaks zwar rauspaddeln (aber nur bei Flut möglich), Bau-/Renovierungsarbeiten während unserer Anwesenheit (nicht unbedingt störend, dennoch könnte man das in der Hotelbeschreibung fairerweise aufführen, Poolbar theoretisch möglich, aber aktuell kein Angebot (Potential vorhanden, da grundsätzlich schöne Anlage); während Juli viele Mosquitos am späten Nachmittag am Empfang und Pool, tägliche Trinkwasserflaschen (Plastik!) fürs Zimmer unnötig, da Wasserspender an der Snackbar, Anlage etwas abseits - zur abendlichen Verpflegung muss man ein paar Schritte laufen

Sehr sauberes Hostel mit schönem Pool-Bereich. Das Personal war freundlich und man konnte direkt auch ein Roller mieten. Der Frauen 4er Dorm war gut eingeeichtet mit Vorhang und Lockerkästchen. Das Gemeinschaftsbadezimmer gut eingerichtet.

Patchy WiFi through it my stay. Construction work and noise. Water logging in the toilet No mirror for shaving and wash basin behind the bed.

The Villa was even better than the photos. We stayed in the three bedroom villa with lots of different areas to relax and socialise. Everything was very clean and the pool was beautiful. The service was exceptional and the owners and staff went above and beyond, even delivering fresh banana cake one morning. We had access to our Netflix and restaurants and the main beach were walking distance. A real highlight is the view of the ocean and famous rocks of Lamai from the roof deck.

The construction work was loud at times but couldn’t be helped. This was not very relaxing as was right next to our private pool. More shade and more comfortable furniture on the roof deck we would suggest. The location means that you need to walk along the main road from Lamai Beach, there is no connection through.

There are luxury rooms with fantastic views and a solo travel part. I traveled alone and was looking for somewhere safe and unique. This place is where I will come back again for sure. The hotel offers a cozy 4-bed female room, and It’s a perfect place for solo travel. Staffs are also friendly.

A lovely small boutique hotel. I loved that you could get breakfast any time - no rushing down before buffet closes as in larger hotels. The restaurant is open 7am-5pm so no evening meals but if you turn right out of hotel and walk about 400 metres there is a very good beach front restaurant. Jerome and Amy are so helpful. The first morning my wife was feeling unwell. I asked Jerome where nearest pharmacy was and he took me down there on his motorbike. It is a bit out of town so if you like the hustle and bustle outside your door it wont be for you but a taxi into town was easy to organise with Jerome or Amy. There is free coffee and snacks for residents in the reception area.

Nothing really - it is out of town but we knew that before we booked and only 20 mins in taxi if you want to go to busier areas.

I loved everything about this place. I stayed in the studio just by the sea. The most fantastic view! There's a private terrasse and a private kitchen. Everything is very clean, the style is simple and cosy at the same time. All staff was very helpfull and kind. Especially Jerome, who was a great help, when my connecting flight was so delayed, that I couldn't get there in time. He rescheduled and made it all work out. Such a helpful og loving person. If you look for a place with a lot of restaurants, clubs and shops around the corner, this might not be the right place. For me - looking for some quiet time - this was the absolute best place I stayed in Koh Samui.

The staff is wonderful, so helpful with any questions or needs. And the facilities are spotless and so comfortable, with laundry, clean bathrooms, and a beautiful swimming pool right on the beach, together with a beach towel when you ask for it.

The lobby is just off the road and can be a bit noisy, but very little time is spent in the lobby.

Was absolutely incredible Stayed as a solo traveller who has stayed at a LOT of hostels and this by far was one of the nicest ones. Very laid back vibe and all the staff were so lovely. It's a mixed use hotel with small rooms, the dorm rooms and villas so you will see a variety of guests from young families and young travellers. The outdoor spaces such as the terrace, pool and beachside area are fantastic. The area is really nice, on the edge of Lamai beach its a very easy walk or scooter into the main areas of Lamai beach and a 20 minute scooter to Chaweng or fisherman's village

You can't tell how they do it. But from the start, the team of the Rock Samui will give you a relaxing and warm welcome to this little tropical paradise. Build as an tribute to the international series 'the flintstones', the Rock offers everything a traveller needs. Chill out places, a private beach to relax at and moreover a staff team that is interested in offering professional service. One my way back home i even revisited the hotel - it was so great. Therefore i can just say thank you, for your wonderfull teamspirit. May it be the endearing Chaw who has the empathy to share heartwarming laughs with good feelings. Yet also offers smart advice for your trip, professionalism when it comes to questions regarding the hotel and sharp comments - if you let her. The all knowing, almost tour guide niveau Gerome from philippines, who knows everything about the island Kho Samui. May it be the way to the ferry, the bus stations, the time of traffic or locations to eat, enjoy or meet friends. But don't forget about the rest of the team. The kitchen handles your order excellent. There are even fresh croissants every morning. Since i've been to france this year, they can stand the comparisson. Also it is very clean everywhere. Been in other hostels and hotels so far. Still, this one stands out. If you work a lot and want to relax, the Rock is your place to go. Of course bigger or even party beaches are just a shortly away. But who wants to go there, when you can have a private beach with your friends? When we were at holiday, one tourist even fell to the ground unconscious. The team called emergency immedeatly and even visited the unlucky solo traveller afterwards in hospital. In short: They genuinly care for you as a guest. Something, you can't find everywhere in the world.

Best hotel I stayed at ! I can not described how grateful I am of my experience at The Rock Samui. I have been upgraded to the room in front of the sea and never felt better. Everything was amazing : the room, the sea, the swimming pool, the guy at the reception is the sweetest !
