Greenbury Kite Hostel & Restaurant

Ich konnte meine IKO-Level-3-Zertifizierung hier ohne Probleme und mit super lieben Instructors machen, die ich jedem ans Herz legen würde. Ich hab super schnell und super viel lernen dürfen und fühle mich jetzt sicher, alleine loszuziehen. Auch das Essen war super gut, vor allem die Bananenpancakes sind mega lecker. Ich hab mich immer super wohlgefühlt und würde hier immer wieder herkommen und es auch jedem weiterempfehlen.

De hosts zijn hele aardige en behulpzame mensen, lekker eten in het restaurant, lieve honden en katten in de tuin, schone kamer en een goede kiteschool aaneengesloten bij het hostel.

Dit is een klein detail, maar de ventilator in onze kamer staat maar gericht op één bed. Het zou fijn zijn als die op beide bedden gericht zou staan.

Owner sehr nett und hilfsbereit

Een simpele accommodatie. De host is veel vriendelijk en doet er alles aan om het naar je zin te maken. Ik kreeg een gratis upgrade naar een 2 persoonskamer. Heerlijk ontbijt elke ochtend met pannekoeken.

Nous avons passé 4 jours incroyables avec Rohan,sa femme et l'équipe de kite dream. Barbecue, karaoké, les repas sont copieux. La maison est vraiment calme, c'est un bel endroit pour se reposer et apprécier la vie sri-lankaise locale. Ils prennent soin de leurs convives comme des animaux qui vivent sur place. Nous recommandons, très bon rapport qualité prix 🙂

Quick Notes Rohan and his wife at Greenbury Hostel made my stay absolutely incredible! From the moment I arrived, they made me feel like family. They took care of me, fed me delicious food, and accommodated any special requests. The kindness and attention they showed me made this stay truly unique. The hostel runs its own kite school and offers kite rentals. If you’re a complete beginner, Rohan will recommend the best instructors at the best prices. The location is also perfect, close to kite spots and in the middle of the hot spots for partying or hanging out. If you’re working, there’s a comfortable work setup and stable WiFi. You can also rent a motorbike or bicycle, plus they offer laundry services. Whatever you need, Rohan is there to take care of you. The food was absolutely delicious every day. They had shakes, juices, kottu, curry, and protein shakes, which are hard to find in the area. I stayed in the AC room, which was spacious and comfortable. Thank you for your hospitality, great time, and care! I’ll definitely be back 🤟🏼❤️

Rohan und seine Frau waren sehr freundlich und immer da, falls man eine Frage hatte, Informationen brauchte oder einfach für ein Gespräch. Ich war dort zum Kiten und habe die Zeit sehr genossen.

My stay at the Greenbury Kite Hotel was nothing short of spectacular, and it's all thanks to Rohan and his wife, Shakila. Their amazing collaboration is the heart of this place. You can feel their dedication and warmth in every single detail. The Hosts: Rohan and Shakila are the dream team. Rohan is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and helped organize fantastic kite lessons nearby with trusted instructors, making the whole process seamless. Meanwhile, Shakila ensures everything at the hotel runs with impeccable, top-tier service. They are both always present, always smiling, and genuinely care about their guests' experience. The Food: Let's talk about the real showstopper: THE FOOD. Shakila ,🔥🔥🔥 is a culinary artist. Every meal was an explosion of fresh, local flavors. The curries with so much flavor Amazing ✨✨✨The breakfasts fueled my entire day of adventure. Don't even think about eating anywhere else kalpitiya The Vibe & The Dogs: The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly, and feels like a home away from home. A huge part of that charm comes from the three resident dogs. These happy, well-loved pups are the unofficial welcoming committee and absolute joys to have around. They add so much character and fun to the entire experience. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the location is perfect for accessing the lagoon. I cannot recommend Greenbury highly enough. The hosts were so lovely and helped with all our needs! I was sick for a little bit of my stay and they took such good care of me! The food was amazing and we had a wonderful time

The location is perfect – only 2 km to the main kite lagoon and 1 km to Kudawa Beach. I highly recommend this place 💯! All the facilities are great, and it's perfect for budget travelers.

We had the most wonderful stay! The friendly hosts made us feel truly welcome and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable throughout our visit. The excellent food was a highlight for us. We loved how quiet and peaceful the location was, providing the perfect escape from the usual hustle and bustle. Being so close to the beach was another huge advantage; we enjoyed fishing and soaking in the beautiful views. This was a truly memorable getaway, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others!

A perfect stay - Highly recommended! Everything about our stay was exceptional. The owners were extremely welcoming and offer multitude option to enjoy our stay even more, always ready to help and serve.. The food was great and they always took the time to sit down with us to discuss about a multitude of subjects. I strongly suggest to visit this place to stay for 1 night. 2 nights or even more. Well located to all the activities and center. Highlight of our stay was BBQ prepared by our hosts with the fish we purchased from the market... genuis idea from Rohan. Enjoy their company, you won't regret it.

The host are extremely welcoming, really close to the kite spot (20 mins walk), really good value/price. The food served is also really good and the hosts are really accommodating with serving hours ! I really recommend it !

The owners are wonderful, always making sure you have everything you need. The food was delicious, especially chicken kottu and shrimp noodles 😋. The location is near all other kite surfing schools and resorts, the area is mostly known for kite surfing, but i could borrow the hostel bike and explore and find some nice beaches to relax at too. Overall it was a great place and a good value.

I stayed in hostel, owner was awesome man, very hospitable and friendly. We talked few hours about life. It was nice that he gave all information about kitesurfing. When I came he provided welcome drink smoothie wooden apple mixed with coconut, really delicious. When I wanted to go around, he provided bicycle for free, it was other bonus. I could meet his kite surfer friends, that also nice. He had nice dog as well.Unfortunately, I couldn’t stay long because kitesurfing season was over, no wind. Every bed has mosquitoes net and fan near by. It was great experience to stay there.

At night can get a bit hot, depending on weather. Toilet and shower outside of dorm.

Amazing place in the center of kalpitiya. The place was very big with a nice garden including some donkeys and cows. All facilities, including food, showers, and cleaning, were at a very high quality, including a high quality wifi connection(which is rare in kalpitiya) The location is very close to the kiting lagoon and is suitable for kite surfers. Will definitely be back

Only the WiFi! And they are getting it this week, so the next time I’m there, I’ll be able to relax and work from the porch
