Dat je niet echt lekker zitjes had. Na een dag wandelen kan je niet ergens lekker zitten. En je heb alleen een laken ik vindt een dun dekbed zelf lekkerder slapen

De gastheer is super vriendelijk en de kamers zijn heel groot en schoon. Je hebt er alles wat je nodig hebt. De perfecte uitvalsbasis voor een trekking van Rinjani.

We loved everything about our stay and can confidently say that this was the best homestay experience we had during our travels. We booked our Rinjani trekking tour directly through them, which was absolutely the right choice. The owners are incredibly kind and were always willing to help. They provided us with everything we needed for the trek, including backpacks, hiking poles, headlamps, beanies, gloves, and more. The included breakfast was also delicious. If you are planning a Rinjani trekking experience, this is definitely the place to stay.

Schone, ruime kamer met fijne badkamer. Simpel maar lekker ontbijt. Hele vriendelijke host: ze heeft ons tips gegeven over de omgeving en overal mee geholpen. We konden er ook een scooter huren. Prijs-kwaliteitverhouding 10/10.

Enigszins luidruchtig door veel dieren in de omgeving. Ook kon je de mensen in de kamers naast je goed horen.

Super lieve eigenaren die, ondanks dat ze er zelf niet waren, zorgden dat we precies wisten waar we naartoe konden en ons hun scooter verhuurden. Accommodatie zelf was met goede ligging in Senaru en goede faciliteiten, heerlijk ontbijt met de lekkerste lime tea 😌

The host is super kind, he organized the trekking to Rinjani for us along with the transfer and the equipment needed. Furthermore, he allowed us to take a shower after three days of adventure (god bless you man!). He organized also the transfer to Lombok Airport. Wonderful! To conclude, he lends for free motorbikes to drive within Senaru

Les hôtes sont parfait. La chambre est spacieuse, confortable et propre.

Véritable maison des amis ( c est son nom et ça convient a merveille) Acceuil chaleureux de Tina et Agung,qui sont toujours disponibles pour rendre le séjour encore plus agréable. Chambre super propre et spacieuse avec petite Terrasse. Petit déjeuner au top avec petites tomates du jardin. On sent que les hôtes traitent leurs guests avec beaucoup d' amour. Allez y les yeux fermés

Emplacement idéal pour partir faire le trek du Rinjani. Accueil formidable et les hôtes sont très arrangeants (merci de m’avoir prêté du matériel pour le Rinjani !)

Nous avons été particulièrement surpris par l'hospitalité de nos hôtes à notre arrivée, ce petit coin de paradis se fait surnommer 'House of Friends' et cela se comprend parfaitement. Les chambres étaient propres et bien équipées, l'établissement est assez bien situé pour accéder au Village traditionnel Sasak et aussi les cascades Tiu Kelep et Sendang Gile.

This place was absolutely perfect. Good value, extremely clean, varied breakfast options and always healthy and home made, and the hosts were lovely. Thanks so much to Tina and family for making this stay so special! There can’t be anywhere better to stay in Senaru 😁

Nous sommes venus à Senaru afin de faire l’ascension du Mont Rinjani. Nous avons séjourné dans ce magnifique Home Stay dont les propriétaires sont extrêmement gentils. Ils ont géré l’organisation du Trek et le prêt d’équipements est un vrai plus. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir pour prendre plus le temps de découvrir Senaru et ses alentours.

J’ai réservé une nuit de plus que prévu pour prévoir le retour du Trek, ceci n’était pas nécessaire.

Calidad precio inmejorable, tiene todo lo que necesitas, Camas cómodas, tiene ventilador , yo que soy muy calurosa fue más que suficiente porque por la noche refresca.Desayuno rico y conpleto.No se puede pedir más, la atención de Tina, encantadora, nos explicó como hacer andando las excursiones. Repetiría sin duda.

We werden goed ontvangen, en we kregen direct een hele goede uitleg van alle informatie uit de buurt. Dit was een grote meerwaarde voor ons verblijf. Er tegenover is een kleine Warung waar je lekker kan eten. Ze brengen het zelfs naar je kamer als je wil.

Tout a été vraiment super ! L'accueil, la gentillesse de Tina et d'Angung, le logement, les services, l'aide. De l'organisation des transports à la prise en charge de la lessive, tout est fait avec le sourire et bienveillance. Le petit déjeuner est extra ! Hmmmm le pancake de Tina ! Et que dire de l'organisation du trek de trois jours sur le Rinjani sinon que ce fut un moment vraiment exceptionnel ! Nawa et toute l'équipe ont été extraordinaires de gentillesse, de prévenance tout en étant très professionnels, d'une efficacité redoutable ! Si vous allez à Lombok, si vous voulez gravir le Rinjani, vous savez où il faut aller !

Onze kamer was net 2 dgn ervoor opgeleverd, dus alles was schoon en nieuw. Nadat onze taxichauffeur het eindelijk had gevonden (tip groter bord) kregen we bij aankomst informatie over de omgeving en tips over restaurants. We zijn meteen op pad gegaan en hebben de mooie watervallen op loopafstand bezocht. Goede briefing in de avond over de tocht. Lekker ontbijt met vers brood en jam. Fijn dat we wandelstokken, een hoofdlamp en handschoenen konden lenen. Ook hebben ze ervoor gezorgd dat onze bagage in een taxi klaarstond zodat we na Rinjani meteen door konden reizen naar de kust, om daar bij te kunnen komen van dit gehele mooie avontuur.

Er was geen airco, wel een ventilator, maar de kamer was warm. De bedden vonden wij vrij hard. Helaas was het zwembad, door schoonmaak werkzaamheden, buiten gebruik. Wij hadden ook de 2 daagse Rinjani trekking via deze homestay geboekt. Alles was goed 😌 geregeld, alleen tijdens de trekking waren er wat communicatieproblemen met de gids en een gids in opleiding. Vrij snel, na het starten van de trekking naar de top, kreeg ik het warm en bood de gids aan om mijn warme kleding (jasje, muts, handschoenen etc) bij zich te houden omdat hij bij mij bleef. Kort daarna is hij in het donker, zonder dat ik het heb gemerkt, gewisseld met de gids in opleiding. Ik ben dus zonder beschermende kleding omhoog gegaan en heb het door deze fout ontzettend koud gehad!! Op de weg terug ben ik ook alleen gelaten en zonder water en eten teruggekomen in het basiskamp.

We learned that Rumah Kawan means ‘house of friends’ and that is exactly how it felt right from the start. Our children are the same age as the children at the homestay and they hit it off right away. We had a medical scare when we arrived and Tina and Agung were so understanding and accommodating. Incredibly thankful that we booked two nights so we got to see some of the area and spend time at the homestay. Some people you meet make a lasting impression and Tina, Agung and their wonderful children surely did that. Staying here is definitely one of the highlights of our trip and we really hope that our paths will cross again in the future.

Excellent accueil Tina et son mari sont à nos petits soins,font tout pour rendre le séjour agréable. Chambre très spacieuse, grande salle de bain ,eau chaude. Tout est très propre et neuf. Moto à disposition. Tina nous a organisé une cooking classe avec son employée, nous avons appris à préparer plusieurs plats locaux que nous avons dégusté avec grand plaisir. Excellent warung en face de chez Tina. 3 enfants adorables. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter. Magnifique région avec très belles rizières..

Je vous recommande vivement de passer la nuit qui précède votre ascension du mont Rinjani. La famille est bienveillante et accueillante et vous donnera les meilleurs conseils pour votre trek ! De plus vous pourrez accéder aux cascades à 15 min à pied depuis leur logement la veille !

Wat een heerlijke locatie. Rustig gelegen, maar wel op loopafstand van goede eettentjes. Je moet wel hellingen oplopen. Prachtige bosrijke omgeving. Aan de gastvrouw kun je alles vragen wat in de buurt is. Erg aardige familie. Prima ontbijt met een paar keuzes. Gefilterd water kun je hier via de accommodatie krijgen en je kunt je was laten doen: 's morgens inleveren, 's avonds weer terug.

Amazing room, hot water in the shower with great smelling soap which was a surprise! Tina and Agung got us setup with a local small business for our trek up Rinjani which ended up being AMAZING and great value compared to some of the other tours we saw.

We had a great experience staying at the homestay. Agun and Tina were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. They were also very helpful in organizing our trek to the Mount Rinjani crater rim, and we really appreciated their hospitality. The evening before the trek, they gave us a helpful briefing so we knew what to expect. They also generously lent us hiking poles, headlamps, and a backpack free of charge, which was greatly appreciated. On the morning of the hike, they prepared breakfast before our early departure, making the start of the trek much easier. The trek itself was much more strenuous than we expected. We work out regularly, have hiking experience, and still found it to be very challenging. Before coming, we researched the weather and knew it would be cold, so we brought puffer jackets, long pants, and long-sleeved base layers. A special thank you to our guide, Ijall, who was absolutely fantastic. He was encouraging, patient, and made the entire experience enjoyable despite the relentless uphill climb. His positive attitude, sense of humor, and support helped us forget how physically demanding the hike was, and we are very grateful to have had him as our guide.

Our biggest concern, however, was the camping equipment provided at the crater rim. The sleeping bags were not suitable for the overnight temperatures. We made the rookie mistake of assuming the trekking company would provide gear appropriate for the conditions. We have experience hiking in cold weather in New York, and in hindsight, we would have brought our own cold-weather sleeping bags. The sleeping bags provided appeared to have a comfort rating of around 10°C, which is much warmer than the temperatures we experienced overnight. In our experience, a sleeping bag's comfort rating should not be treated as the expected overnight temperature. To actually sleep comfortably, it's wise to choose a bag with a comfort rating at least 5–10°C warmer than the coldest temperature you expect to encounter, since wind, humidity, elevation, and individual metabolism all affect how cold you feel. We also noticed there was no tent footprint beneath the tent and only a basic sleeping mat. On cold ground, insulation underneath you is just as important as the sleeping bag itself. Sleeping pads with a higher R-value provide better thermal insulation from the ground, and a tent footprint can add protection from ground moisture and improve comfort. Together, these layers make a significant difference on cold mountain nights. Had we not brought our own warm clothing, we genuinely believe we would have struggled to stay warm through the night. This is not an exaggeration. When booking, we were offered two trekking options: a shared group trek (which we chose) and a more expensive private trek. Since the other participants changed their dates, we ended up having what was essentially a private experience for the shared-tour price. We don't know whether the private tours normally receive better equipment, but we sincerely hope that all trekkers—regardless of which package they choose—are provided with gear that is appropriate for the conditions.

Great host, rooms, location, food.

Le personnel est accueillant et bienveillant. La chambre est parfaite : lit confortable, eau chaude et bonne pression. Le petit déjeuné est copieux. Si vous venez pour faire le trek de Rinjani, il faut absolument venir ici. Agung vous conseillera et vous prêtera des vêtements/équipements pour le trek! Nous avons même eu le droit d’utiliser la douche au retour du trek avant de reprendre la route. Un grand merci pour tout!

Ce n’est pas un avis négatif : pour ceux qui veulent faire le trek de Rinjani, ce dernier nécessite une bonne préparation et/ou des bonnes conditions physiques (et mentales!)

THE SHOWER WAS AMAZING - plus the soap and shampoo smelled great too. A traditional Homestay, Rumah Kawan puts you right at the foot of Rinjani in the quiet side of the village. It’s right next to a waterfall and swimming hole (only 20 min walk) and Tina and Agung provide excellent service to their guests.

Super clean, amazing family who owns the homestay. They give you lots of tips to enjoy the area and restaurant recommendations. They also showed us to a local waterfall where we could swim away from the two main waterfalls in the centre. We always felt very safe and the breakfast is also great.

The only thing is that it’s a bit of a walk outside of the main area, around 15 mins. This is ok as we had a motorbike, but we wanted to walk to dinner so it was quite dark on the walk back. But we always felt safe!

Super clean and great a location if you’re looking to do Mount rinjani or any of the waterfalls around! Such a great atmosphere aswell, both Tina and Agung were so helpful and the community surrounding are super friendly.

Alojamiento super limpio, atención increíble por parte de Tina y su marido, volveríamos sin duda siempre que fuéramos a nusa tenggara. Nos ayudaron a gestionar hasta el transporte de ida cuando no encontrábamos ningún grab. Sin duda los mejores!!

Ontzettend lieve mensen die echt m’n gehele verblijf klaar hebben gestaan. Verder waren de kamers ruim en lag het bed heerlijk.

La chambre était parfaite, grande, bien agencée, propre et de l'eau chaude. Je recommande l'excursion 2j1n, tres bon guide Tina nous a préparé des listes de restaurants et warung et des itinéraires de visite à pieds depuis l'homestay, cascades, Rizières.. très beau. Au total, nous avons réservé 1 nuit avant le treck puis 2 nuits après le treck, ce qui nous a permis de visiter les cascades, les Rizières.... Nous avions un scooter, mais nous n'en n'avons pas eu besoin. Je recommande absolument!!!!!

The room had everything you need and the hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming. A beautiful family and gave me a true Indonesian experience with the waterfalls and their community. They also helped me organise my trek up Rinjani and the breakfasts were fab!

Oprecht alle reviews die je leest zijn waar. Wij hebben echt genoten hier. Het was zo fijn dat we nog een extra nacht bij geboekt hebben. De kamer was erg schoon, de eigenaren waren ontzettend vriendelijk!

Nous avions choisi cet homestay afin de visiter le village de Senaru. Au final nous y avons dormi la veille de notre treck que nous a organisé Agung et 2 nuits de plus lors de notre retour de treck. Tina nous a très bien accueillie malgré que l'on soit arrivés bien avant l'heure minimale indiquée. Elle nous a offert le thé, nous a indiquée les visites de cascades, Rizières et restaurants. La région est magnifique, authentique, encore préservée. Les cascades sont magnifiques! Les balades à travers les Rizières, les petits hameaux de Senaru sont sublimes et les gens sont tellement gentils! Agung nous a organisé notre treck 2 jours 1 nuit pour l'ascension du Mont Rinjani, nous a prêté bâtons de randonnée, bonnet et gants. Cet un treck très dur mais très bien organisé, merci à notre guide, à nos porteurs qui nous ont soutenu lors de cet ascension. Les repas qu'ils nous ont préparés étaient vraiment excellents, et la tente très confortable!!! Notre seul regret, ne pas bien parler anglais, dommage, nous n'avons pas pu trop échanger et avons dû compter sur nos 2 compatriotes toulousains pour traduire 😅. Que dire de plus.... la 1ère chambre que nous avons loué ainsi que la 2nde après notre treck était parfaite, propre, fonctionnelle, eau chaude...nous avons même pu faire laver notre linge à une vitesse incroyable!. J'oubliais, ne ratez pas la petite cascade secrète, on peut s'y baigner dedans, l'eau est fraîche, limpide et tellement agréable par ces chaleurs, ... demandez l'accès à Tina qui se fera un plaisir de vous l'indiquer. C'était l'une de mes préférées. Le petit warung en face du homestay est excellent, allez y en toute confiance. Nous avons également testé le Light house, magnifique et très bon. Merci pour ce séjour et bonne continuation 😃

Super homestay, la famille est très accueillante et à l’écoute. L’hôte prête son scooter sans problème. Nous avons fait le mont rinjani avec eux, tout était super bien organisé et ils prêtent les bâtons, bonnets, gants et lampe frontale. La chambre était très propre à notre arrivée et la douche fonctionnait très bien. Les petits déjeuners sont très bons. Pour la qualité de la chambre, le prix est dérisoire.

Il n’y a pas de clim dans la chambre, seulement un ventilateur.

We had an absolutely amazing stay! From the moment we arrived until we returned from our Rinjani trek, we felt incredibly welcomed and cared for. Agung and his wife was kind, helpful, and always available to answer our questions. They explained everything clearly and made us feel at home right away. They safely stored our luggage and motorbikes while we were on the trek and helped us organize everything we needed. What impressed us the most was the trekking equipment they provided. They lent us hiking shoes, trekking poles, warm clothes, and everything else we needed to be fully prepared. The hiking shoes in particular were a lifesaver during the trek! Thanks to them, we felt confident and ready for the adventure. The room was clean, comfortable, and perfect for resting before and after the trek. The breakfasts were generous and delicious. Everything was perfect from beginning to end. The level of hospitality, kindness, and attention to detail was exceptional. We cannot recommend this place enough and would happily stay here again. Thank you for making our Rinjani experience so special!

We had an incredible stay at Rumah Kawan Homestay. Tina, Agung and their children are absolutely wonderful and made us feel at home from the very beginning. Tina welcomed us as soon as we got out of the taxi, explained everything about the area and showed us the outdoor table with maps and lots of useful information about the surroundings, such a great touch. The breakfast was honestly the best we’ve had in one month travelling around Indonesia. I’m still dreaming about her homemade bread! The room was perfectly clean. Tina was always there to make sure we had everything we needed and paid attention to every little detail. The room doesn’t have air conditioning but the temperatures are very comfortable in Senaru and the hot water in the shower was perfect. She also organised our taxi from our arrival in Lombok making everything stress-free from the start, as well as our laundry which was very convenient during our stay. We didn’t do the trekking but the location is ideal for exploring the surroundings on foot, no scooter needed. There’s also a lovely warung and small convenience shop just across the street run by a very kind lady. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Senaru or planning to do the Mount Rinjani trek.

WiFi wasn’t always reliable for working, although there is a great café nearby for remote work. The room we stayed in was the closest to the road, so it was a bit noisy. The sheets are quite light and it can feel slightly cool during the night.

La gentillesse de ́nos hotes, le rapport qualite prix excellent, point de départ idéal pour les départs de trek au mont Rinjani ou au Crater Rim. ́Nos hotes nous ont organisé de A à Z l'excursion en montagne, c'était parfait.

Wat een fantastische plek om te verblijven in Senaru. Vanaf het eerste moment voelde de ontvangst ontzettend warm en oprecht. De kamer was fijn, schoon en volledig zoals je mag verwachten: netjes verzorgd, comfortabel en alles is aanwezig wat je nodig zou kunnen hebben. Water tijdens het douchen was ook lekker warm (bij andere locaties in Indonesië is dat wel eens anders geweest). Het ontbijt was erg goed en met zorg klaargemaakt. Wat deze homestay echter echt bijzonder maakt, zijn de mensen. Zowel de man als vrouw van de familie zijn ongelooflijk vriendelijk, behulpzaam en gastvrij. Ze hebben mij geholpen met het regelen van een scooter, het afstemmen van mijn hike, het lenen van spullen voor de hike en stonden altijd klaar om mee te denken. Je merkt aan alles dat ze oprecht willen dat je een fijne tijd hebt. De kinderen zijn ook echt schatten. Ik heb me hier werkelijk meer dan thuis gevoeld. Een plek met lieve mensen, oprechte gastvrijheid en een sfeer die je niet snel vergeet. Absoluut een aanrader wanneer je in Senaru verblijft.

Everything is great about this place, from the homestay itself to the people living here. Tina and Agung are among the sweetest people on earth. I stayed there for 4 nights and they gave me all the info about Senaru and they even lent me equipment for the trekking.

Only could stay one night!

Rumah Kawan Homestay and Trekking was an outstanding place to stay in Senaru. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed by the host family, who are some of the kindest and most attentive people we’ve met during our travels. The warm, family‑run atmosphere really makes this place special. The room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and well maintained. The bed was excellent, and everything felt calm and peaceful at night, which made it a great place to rest before visiting the waterfalls or starting a trek. The location is ideal — close to Sindang Gila and Tiu Kelep waterfalls and convenient for Mount Rinjani trekking. Restaurants and village amenities are nearby, yet the homestay itself is quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was delicious, freshly prepared, and the perfect way to start the day. The hosts were also incredibly helpful with local tips, organising trekking or explaining how to visit the waterfalls, always taking the time to make sure we were comfortable. Overall, Rumah Kawan Homestay and Trekking offers exceptional value for money. The combination of spotless rooms, a great location, and truly heartfelt hospitality makes this one of the best homestays we’ve experienced. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Senaru, especially trekkers and nature lovers.

Man fühlt sich bei Tina und ihrer Familie direkt Zuhause. Man wird einfach total toll umsorgt, jeder Wunsch wird einem von den Lippen abgelesen. Bspw. Kaffee und Tee nach dem wandern nachmittags. Es war so schön 😊

Loved my stay here. The room was super clean and comfortable, the hosts are very kind and Tina explained me in details about the local waterfalls and recommendations in what to do in the area. Delicious breakfast with homemade bread.
